The three nations were taken aback by the intimidating girl. She was standing several feet away, but it's clear that she heard their conversation, but to what extent? What surprised them was the expression she wore. She had a concerned and worried look on her face, a look she never showed before.

For as long as they had known Belarus, she doesn't show any other emotions that don't involve her with Russia or her being her usual self. But here she was, staring at the three nations with an unhappy look and gloomy aura.

"Hey, Belarus...what are you doing here?"

America asked nervously, breaking the awkward silence. Even though he knew Belarus, he can't help but feel intimidated by her. She was the little sister of Russia, after all.

They expected her to glare at the American, but she answered his question. "I saw you staring at brother earlier." America was taken aback

"But it was only for like five seconds," America sweatdropped. All three nations just stared at him. "So, this does confirm my suspicions." Germany thought. "Way to go on hiding it, bro!" Prussia smirked

"S-Shut up!" America exclaimed, clearly embarrassed. They started to bicker, annoying Belarus.

"All of you. Shut up!" Belarus growled suddenly. This made all of them jump at the hostility. She looked at each of them to make sure they were paying attention to her. From their perspective, if looks can kill, they would probably be out for a few days. Any average human would be on their way six feet under. America was secretly glad the others are distracted, so he didn't have to tell them. He would have to get back at Gilbert another day.

"Now, as I said before. Are you three trying to help big brother?" said the Belarusian. America knew Belarus the best out of Germany and Prussia. He could tell she was worried about Russia too.

Maybe-

His thoughts were interrupted by his Albino friend.

"Well, yes, we are attempting to help Russia." Prussia said. Germany quickly corrected him. "Right now, we are trying to find out what is wrong with him." He looked at America and Prussia before talking again "Once we find out, we are going to try and help him." Germany quickly added.

Belarus looked at Germany to see if there was any lie on his face. Eventually, she looked down at the ground. She softly spoke. "That's good. I'm...glad."

Germany then noticed Belarus shaking a bit. She was looking downwards so they couldn't see her eyes. Her hands turned into fists and were clicking tightly to her dress. It was clear she was in distress but was trying to hide it. The others quickly caught on as well.

This was a shock for each of them. They have never seen the Belarus girl look so defenseless and vulnerable. She never looked so broken. There was a silence before Prussia spoke. "Are you okay, Belarus?"

"I... could be better."

Belarus said as she looked up sadly.

But made them jump was the smile on her lips. However, it was not a smile of happiness or positivity. It was a smile of sadness and unspoken worries.

"You see... Big Brother has always been lonely. He never received any affection except from big sister and me. But it's because we are family."

"He has tried to make friends, but he doesn't know how to." She took a breath as if she was trying to hold back something.

"He ended up having a disorder, causing him to say things he never meant. He became desperate and unaware of his actions towards others, especially the Baltics."

The others were taken aback a bit. Germany knew what it was like to not have any friends before he met Italy and Japan. He only grew up with his brother most of his life. He thought Russia had at least a few friends. To find out he never had any was a bit heartbreaking. But to find out about Russia unable to do the things he never wanted to do was even worse.

Prussia and America weren't any better. Sure they had known Russia for almost all their lives, but they always end up confronting him due to their egos and orders from their bosses. They grew up with someone their whole life, so they never really knew what it's like to be friendless.

The Belarusian was not done, however.

" If only I'm not so apathetic and persistent. If I weren't so clingy, then maybe he wouldn't be as lonely. He wouldn't be hurting himself..."

"Hurting himself?" asked Prussia

"Of course, you fucking idiot!" She shouted at the Albino, causing him to reel back. She immediately calmed down afterward. "Big Brother has been suffering for so long that he wants to get rid of the pain and emptiness. Although his solution isn't the best..."

It suddenly clicked in everyone's minds.

"Don't tell me..." Germany started. His eyes widened. If Russia was doing what he thinks he's doing...

"Ivan has been cutting himself...ever since Dec 26th...1991."

That was more than enough to make each of them be filled with shock and sadness.

Belarus went silent, but they couldn't blame her. To tell others about your close one was doing self-harm can never be said with a straight face.

But to think Russia, the nation everyone thought as a sadistic nation who tortures for his pleasure. The one who always smiles in dire situations. He isn't what he is said to be.

He always asked if others were okay. No one ever asked what he was feeling. He just wanted to have others know he isn't who he is. He wants to be truly happy.

They felt horrible now. For taking who he was for granted. For letting him suffer in silence.

They saw Belarus was at her breaking point. She was hugging her self and was muttering inaudible words. She noticed the stares and tried to compose herself, but it didn't make a difference at all. She pulled out a knife from who knows where and pointed it at them in a threatening manner. "Stop staring at me like that!"

Prussia took a step back, while Germany flinched. Both stood their ground, however. He and Prussia knew what Belarus can do with a knife from what they heard, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be cautious.

America, however, couldn't help but stare at her. Something clicked in his mind. For whatever reason, he thought back to that day where heavy rain fell, and him pointing a musket at England. He couldn't help but see England in Belarus's place.

A musket replacing the knife, held with both hands. England shivering from both the harsh rain and grief. It was difficult for both of them, he remembered. Shattering a relationship that can never be fully healed as fast as a bullet.

Without thinking, America walked up to the shaking girl and wrapped his arms around her. He didn't know why he did, but something in his mind told him it was the right thing. The two germans we're surprised by America's action but didn't stop him. Germany knew America was doing what he loves to do.

Being a hero.

Belarus was shocked at the action. Her mind took a few seconds to process before she started to struggle, which didn't do anything because of America's superhuman strength. "Let me go! I don't need your pity and concern!"

"Natalya."

The mentioned girl stopped her movements. "...W-What?"

"It's okay to cry once in a while. It's better if you don't hold it in." This made her froze."W-W-What do you mean...?"

"Its okay to tell others your feelings. Feel free to let them out."

That was all it took for her mask to shatter.

She tried to hold back the tears, but they spilled out from her eyes like a dam suddenly breaking and releasing what it was holding back. She closed her eyes and tightly returned the hug to the blond nation; the knife was forgotten as it fell to the floor. She wept into America's shoulder, letting out years of angst she held back for too long.

America tried to comfort her by rubbing her back and soothe her with words. "Its okay Natalya, it's okay."

Germany and Prussia stood back, not wanting to get in the way. Germany felt a warm feeling in his heart and was starting to get emotional. Prussia had the same feeling but was trying to wipe away his tears, claiming he wasn't crying.

They all knew the pain of hiding their feelings, having not to show any weakness to their enemies, who are forced to do the same as well.

Eventually, Belarus managed to calm down and wasn't crying more. She stayed in America's embrace but was still shaking a bit.

"Hey?" Belarus looked up at America, who offered her a grin. "You know, I never saw you so emotional before. You should be like that more often." "...Shut up." This made America laugh. Belarus's face was pink from embarrassment at the compliment. Truth to be told, she took that compliment to heart.

"Excuse me, Natalya?"

America and Belarus turned towards Germany. "Yes, Ludwig?" Ludwig cleared his throat before speaking

"If it's not to much trouble, can you assist us in helping Russia, you seem to know him best, and we would like to know if there are any ways to help."

They expected her to think for a bit.. Having to work with two hyperactive people and a guy with a very bland sense of humor. To there surprise and accomplishment, she immediately agreed.

"Of course! Anything for my brother. And besides, you guys helped me as well." Prussia raised an eyebrow. "But all we did was comfort you."

"You did more than that. You are willing to help big brother, who is always depicted as a cruel person. America helped me let out my angst just now. And despite having a bad history with Russia, you are still willing to help."

That was a lot of words for a typically quiet nation to say. They could get used to this, though.

"Glad to have you on board then!" America exclaimed. "Now that is one more for our little group." "Lets go help Ivan(my future bf) now!"

"We shouldn't, because it's already dinner time." Germany stated as we looked at his watch. "After dinner, all nations are to go back to their rooms and can't go out at that time."

"...Shit." The young nation dropped his head in disappointment.

"How about this?" They turned to the female nation. "We meet up during lunch break, and then we will form a plan during that time."

"That sounds good." "Sure." "Alright, Dudette."

"Then I will see you tomorrow. Night" And with that, Belarus walked off to who knows where. Although her posture looked less tense and was calmer.

"Well, thanks for agreeing to this dudes!" America gave a wave before running off.

It was now just Germany and Prussia as the others walked or ran away.

Prussia decided to mess with Germany, because why not?

"So...West. Since when did you enjoy helping out others, hmmm? Are you growing soft?"

Germany was silent for several seconds as Prussia kept poking at him and teasing him. Germany decided to speak up

"To be honest, I had this feeling that if I don't do something to help, then I will regret my decision later. I'm not sure, though. All I know is that it's the right thing to do."

Prussia stared at him for a bit in awe, before he bursted out laughing. "Bwahahaha, so you are going soft after all!" He had to wipe a tear from laughing so hard. He threw an arm over his brother's shoulder. "Don't worry, little brother! Your big bruder will help you along the way."

"...Thanks...big bruder." "OH MEIN GOTT! HE SAID IT!"

"Whatever, let's go eat." He started to walk with Prussia, following behind.

"Also, Gilbert. Didn't you have a grudge against Ivan?" Prussia smirked. "You know what they all say, not all grudges can last forever."

"Where did you get that from?"

"Somewhere." He gave a cheeky grin before running ahead. "C'mon! I'll race ya to our room." He disappeared by turning a corner.

Germany sighed before running after his brother. He had a small grin on his face, however. He recalled what Prussia said earlier.

"Of course that is something bruder would say."

This took way longer than I thought it would to write! _

But I hope you like with what I did with the personalities.

See ya next time!
