Author notes:
Hello, everyone!
It's Monday (in México), so it's time for another chapter :D
Before I start, I want to thank to everyone who is reading my fic constantly. Even if you dont leave a comment, I appretiate.
Specially the one from the Netherlands. Whoever you are, thanks :D
Now remember this fic will eventually have a harem-like situation. I need to remember you all of this. It will happen WAAAAAYYY into the future, but I have to say that right now.
Also, remember last time when I said I was thinking of adding a 'Soundtrack' on here? In the old version of my fanfic, I did have a soundtrack, but I discovered many people couldnt download all that music. Now we have Youtube, but still dont want to use that much music.
Instead, sometimes I WILL mention this:
-Music: Battle of God (Yu-Gi-Oh! Soundtrack)-
And you can search it on Youtube. This is just to let you imagine what I had in mind when I writed that scene, and maybe to add some musical flavor to the reading.
I will try not to overuse this. And I will mention on these notes which music you will need, like this:
The music used in this chapter are:
-Time's Scar (Chrono Cross Soundtrack)-
-Tension Rising (Kingdom Hearts II Soundtrack)-
-Battle of God (Yu-Gi-Oh! Soundtrack)-
-Jikai Yokoku (Digimon Tamers Soundtrack)-
To warn you in case you want/can use music while reading. Also maybe you will find some interesting music of series you havent heard before?
Let's test if this works. If not, I will stop.
Anyway, time to start this. Hope you like it :D
Chapter 14: Surrounded by Darkness.
-Location: Water Temple-
As the battle continue between Reed and Alan, both started to look tired. They were equal in power and spells, as they match their strikes with equal power and speed. They looked at each other, ready to clash, when they felt a burst of wave energy coming from the Crystal Room, making both to stop their battle. Alan, being present in the destruction of the Wind Crystal, had the exact same feeling as that time.
"It can't be…" He said to himself, as a blanket of water came from the door, and it fill the floor of the room.
In another room, the Amphibean Beast Letav was hit by a powerful Water spell courtesy of the Maiden of Aqua Sapphire, but he managed to resist it. Kristal and Vivian were about to attack, when they all felt something, as a burst of energy emerged from the door that connects to the Crystal room, followed by a small blanket of water that fill the floor of the room. The three women looked at it, and they immediately knew what have happened.
"No way… the Crystal…" started Vivian with surprise.
"…it was destroyed…" expressed Kristal.
Sapphire, the Sage of Water, looked at the door with horror and fell on her knees.
"No… I was too late…" said the Maiden of Aqua, looking at the floor, dejected. "I have failed…"
"And so, Lord Exus is one step closer to freedom." Exclaimed Letav, getting on his feet, as the other girls look back at him. "Soon, this world will be free!"
"We won't let you!" Exclaimed Kristal, getting on guard, as lightning engulfed her staff. "We won't let you turn this world into darkness!"
"It is only Darkness that will free this world."
"No, it will consume it… and we WONT let you!" Expressed Vivian, as wind began to appear in her hands.
Sapphire looked down for a few seconds, before a powerful whirlpool of water appeared around her, forcing everyone to look at her. She slowly stood up, and hold her trident with a firm grip.
"The Water Crystal supply everyone with pure water…is the one that gave us life."
Sapphire's aura increased exponentially, surprising both Kristal and Vivian, especially since she turned back to look at Letav… and her face was full of anger.
"You destroyed the one thing that give us life! I will never forgive you!" Exclaimed Sapphire, as the whirlpool still raged around her.
"And what are you going to do about it?"
Sapphire looked at Letav, and while her sight didn't move, she talked to her companions.
"Miss Kristal, Miss Vivian, let me finish this."
"Are you sure, Sapphire?" Asked Vivian with surprise.
"Yes. Right now, I feel the remaining power of the Water Crystal. I will use some of it and attack him with all my strength, but I wont be able to do much after that. If he survives, I will leave the rest in your hands."
"We understand." Said Kristal, dispelling her lightning. "Go get him."
"I will." Said Sapphire, taking a few steps forward. "Letav, I will defeat you right now."
"So be it." Expressed Letav. "Let's see who is the true water master."
And so, Letav began to increase his aura, as he started to gather all the water in the room to create a giant sphere of water around him, like the last time. However, instead of staying around him, he lifted it on top of him, as the sphere of water began to grow ever larger.
"This is the true power of my technique." Said Letav. "Last time I used it, it blasted in all directions, but now, it will concentrate it all towards you!"
Sapphire didn't said anything and, instead, grab her trident with two hands and pointed it towards Letav. The whirlpool that concentrated around her began to gather on the tip of the trident, creating a ball of water. Some other whirlpools appeared around her, like pillars of water. Sapphire held the trident firmly, as it began to shake by the power of her spell.
"I don't care what kind of techniques you have." Expressed Sapphire. "I won't let you destroy this world."
"You won't be able to do anything, woman!" Exclaimed Letav, as the sphere of water he created got bigger and bigger, and began to heat up and bubble. "Disappear! WATER WAVE BURST!"
Tossing it like it was a Spirit Bomb, Letav send the Water Sphere towards Sapphire. It was the full power of that technique, so if it hit her, she will be injured even more… if not worse.
But Sapphire didn't move… she faced this technique… with her own.
"I won't give up!" Exclaimed Sapphire, reaching her maximum power. "Take this! OCEANIC ROAR!"
The sphere of water on Sapphire trident released a tornado, or whirlpool, of water, directly at Letav's Water Sphere, and both clashed in the middle of the room. They fought for dominance for a few seconds, before Letav's attack began to gain the upperhand.
"See? My power over water is superior!" Exclaimed Letav, as he pushed his watcher sphere with his mind, pushing Sapphire's attack back. "This is the power of darkness, and against this the power of the crystals is nothing!"
"No, you don't understand." Expressed the Maiden of the Aqua, getting pushed back. "The power of the Crystals is not as weak as you think… and I will show you!"
"No… WE will show you!"
Suddently, Sapphire felt something on her shoulders, and when she look back, she saw that both Kristal and Vivian were behind her.
"You are never alone, Miss Sapphire." Commented Vivian. "As the Sage of the Winds, I will help you."
"And me… well…" started the Dark Magician Girl. "I am no Sage, but my name sounds like Crystal so… I will help you."
"Miss Kristal, that was so lame…"
"Hey!"
Sapphire just laughed. Even if they just meet, she knew they will become good friends.
But then again, they need to win this battle first.
"Miss Vivian, Miss Kristal… thank you." Said Sapphire, smiling, before looking back at her opponent. "Please, lend me your energy!"
"You got it!" exclaimed Kristal, as her aura began to flare up.
"We are with you!" Said Vivian, doing the same.
The aura of the 2 women began to combine with Sapphire's, although she tried to contain it into herself. The attack of Letav was still pushing her own, to the point that it was very close to her… and in that moment, she knew she had to do it.
"Now! Take this!"
Sapphire released the aura that she was containing and in a second her attack became even more powerful. The twister/tornado of water that she created increased in power, easily overpowering and even dispersing Letav's attack. When he saw that, he was speechless.
"Impossible!" he exclaimed, as he received the attack of the water sage. He tried to resist it, as he used all of his strength to remain on his feet… but Sapphire had another plan.
Seeing that he resisted the wave, Sapphire canceled the attack and immediately put all of her aura on her trident… and threw it at her opponent.
"LEVIATHAN'S TRIDENT!"
Letav knew if he resisted a few more seconds, Sapphire's attack will end. However, when he turned to look at the maiden, he saw a flash of blue energy flying towards him extremely fast. He had no chance to react.
"What the-?" He asked… before receiving the trident in his chest.
The force of the trident pushed Letav back, and he crashed into a wall, with the trident going through his chest and stuck on the wall, letting Letav hanging on the wall.
"Gak! I-impossible…" Expressed Letav, as he remained stuck on the wall. "Lord Exus… forgive…meee…"
After a few more seconds, Letav's body began to dissolve in darkness and water. The last one was purified the moment it touched the water in the room, as it still has the power of the Crystal. Seeing that their enemy was gone, the 3 women took a sigh of relief.
"That was a close one." Said Vivian, looking at the remains of Letav.
"Yeah, he was very strong with the power of darkness." Expressed Kristal. "Even my spells didn't work on him as much as I wanted."
"We still managed to beat him." Expressed Sapphire, calling her Trident back to her hand, catching it when it move to her hand, before looking at the two women behind her. "We need to go back and see what happened in the Crystal Room."
"You are right! Let's go!"
And with that, the 3 women went back into the corridor to get into the Crystal Room.
Alan looked at the door that connects this room with the crystal one. It's been a few seconds since he felt that burst of energy coming from the main room, and since he was during the destruction of the Wind Crystal, he knew what it was.
The Water Crystal was destroyed.
"Seems like Exia managed to destroy the fourth Crystal." Commented Reed, smiling. "Two more to go." This made Alan look back at him with anger.
"Damn it, Reed! This is wrong! We shouldn't be fighting!" Exclaimed Alan.
"Then open your eyes, Alan! Understand that they are lying to you!"
"No! It is YOU who is in the wrong, man! My heart tells me so!"
Reed just sighed once more, as the grip on his Gunblade increased.
"I… really don't want to fight you, Alan…" He said, and Alan noticed some sadness in his voice. "But I will if it set you free!"
Reed dash towards Alan, ready to strike him with his Gunblade, but Alan managed to block it. They interchanged blows, as both Gunblade and Keyblade continued clashing, before entering a blade lock once more. It was then that Alan saw that, while still grabbing his sword with his right hand, Reed's left hand was engulfed in flames as he pulled his arm back, ready to push forward. Because of that, Alan had to remove his left hand from the Keyblade and engulf it in ice wind, pulling back his arm too.
Then, both pushed their arms forward.
"FIRE!"
"BLIZZARD!"
Both hands faced each other just between them, as a burst of Fire and Ice meet in the middle. Both fought for dominance for a while, before the pressure of both spells was too much and created an explosion, that send both humans flying back. However, they recovered quickly, and the moment their feet touched the ground, they dash against each other once again.
Alan, instead of clashing head on, decided to go for a slide and try to take Reed out of balance. However, the other human realized this and jumped just in time to evade the slide, while Alan could only see how his cousin flew over him.
Reed touched the ground a few meters behind Alan, and immediately dash towards him, who just got up. Reed, holding his Gunblade with his right arm, went for an horizontal cut from his left to try to strike Alan, but the other human managed to raise his Keyblade and block the attack. However, the strike was so strong that he managed to send Alan's Keyblade flying out of his hands to his left, falling several meters away from him. Reed, seeing his attack was blocked but had left Alan vulnerable, went for the opposite side, and he spun over his legs counter-clock wise to strike Alan on his left side. However, Alan did something he didn't though he would do: instead of trying to jump back, he raised his left arm, trying to block the Gunblade strike with it. It was too late to stop, and Reed could only though that he will cut his cousin's arm in that moment.
-CLANK!-
Which was a surprise when he FELT his blade struck metal.
"What the-?" Started Reed with surprise.
Alan just smirked.
"Gotcha!" Exclaimed Alan, before he moved the arm that blocked Reed's blade and grabbed his arm, and immediately punched him in the face with his right one.
Reed was send flying a few meters, before falling into the ground. After a few seconds, Reed looked at Alan, who had taken the Gunblade from his hand. He looked at Alan's left sleeve, and saw he had a cut in the fabric… but no blood on it.
"What? How?" Asked Reed with surprise.
"Hehe, a little something I got from Kristal back on the first day when I arrived here." Answered Alan, before lifting his left sleeve.
It was then that Reed saw that, under Alan's sleeves, there was a piece of metal.
"What? Gauntlets?" Asked as surprised Reed.
"Eh… more like Arm Protectors, as they lack the glove part of it." Answered Alan, as he showed Reed all the part protected. "I have baggy pants and jacket, and while it makes it a little harder to move because it weights a little more, it makes it possible to hide this. Kristal gave them to me when we were attacked by Exus soldiers, and I decided to keep them just in case. This is another of the reasons why I think I am right: they worry about me."
"And you think they really do and is not because they need you for something?" Asked Reed, standing up.
"I don't care, I KNOW I am not being manipulated."
"Well, this won't stop me, Alan."
"Reed… this fight is over. Not only I HAVE your weapon, which I don't need, by the way. I know something about you."
"And what is that?"
Alan smiled, before tossing the Gunblade far away from them, so Reed can't run and grab it. Also, he got on guard, in a karate fighting stance, with his right hand on his side and his left one on his front.
"… I know karate… and you don't." Expressed Alan, getting ready. However, Reed just smiled.
"…OFFICALLY I don't… but…"
"Wait, what do you mean?"
Reed got on guard too, in a fighting stance similar to Alan's.
"…my uncle taught me."
Alan got even more serious, as both looked in the eyes. Suddently, Reed dashed towards Alan, who was just waiting for him and evaded his tackle at last second. Reed returned and began throwing punches at Alan, who had to evade and try to answer back with his owns.
Reed threw a punch with his right hand, but Alan deflected it with his left one, before answering back. Alan's fist almost hit Reed's face, but he moved to the side to evade it, and threw another punch at Alan, who just jumped backwards, before answering with a kick with his right leg. Reed grab Alan's leg and, with his own feet, kicked up the other leg of Alan, forcing him to fall to the ground.
On the ground, Alan roll to his side to evade Reed's stomp, before getting up and continuing the battle. Sure, they weren't experts in martial arts, but they had their basics, and their new powers amplified their fighting over a typical battle.
For a few more minutes, they continued this battle. They had managed to land a few hits, and both started to get tired, and they were bleeding out from their mouth and cuts. They were on their last legs… and so, they decided to end it in one move.
Reed's right fist was engulfed in flames, while Alan's was in ice wind. Knowing this was the last hit, both run against each other, meeting in the middle of the room, and they punched each other in the face.
However, this was the moment were Reed made a misjudgment, and Alan was just lucky:
Alan's icy wind turned his fists into an ice cube, so he punched Reed's face with it, increasing his strike power. Reed's flaming fist hit Alan in the face and while it didn't increase his strike power, it engulfed Alan's head in flames, starting to burn his flesh. However, as both of them were send flying backwards a few meters and fell into the floor, the water that was present on it soon extinguished the flames, and so left Alan with only minor burns on his face. As he was slowly getting up, he turned to see his cousin, seeing that he hasn't moved.
He was unconscious.
Punching Reed in the face with a cube of ice was more effective at knocking him out that he punching Alan with a flaming fist, who's flames extinguished in the water. Alan stood up completely, and took several breaths, trying to regains his stamina. He looked at what had happened:
He won.
"Well, that will leave you knocked out for a few minutes." Said Alan, very tired because of the battle, and wiping some blood he had in his mouth. "Well, at least I got you. I'll take you to Duncan, and he'll find a way to get you out of that illusion… or…"
Alan stopped for a moment, deep in though.
"Or… if you are right… then we will find a way to leave this world and go back home… right?"
Alan approached the unconscious Reed. However, just when he was getting close, he saw a portal of darkness open behind Reed, and a shadow figure on the other side. It was large, probably over 2 meters high, and he was a wide guy for what he could see. He knew he was a Spirituel, but the shadows concealed him.
"Who are you?!" Exclaimed Alan, getting on guard, ready to fight.
However, the figure just flicked his right hand, and it created a wave of dark wind that send Alan flying several meters back, before crashing hard on the ground. As he was slowly getting up, he saw that Reed was being lifted in the air by dark magic.
"So… you are the chosen warrior of the Keyblade, eh? I have to say… I expected more of you." Exclaimed the shadowy figure, and he took Reed with him.
"Wait! Let him go!" Exclaimed Alan, getting on his feet.
"Don't worry, I won't do anything bad to him. If only I was able to leave the seal, I would have capture you myself, and not just appear in this lesser form. You are lucky that the barrier isn't weak enough, or I would personally reach you."
Alan looked at that figure with surprise. If he was saying that he was trapped in a seal… THE seal, then that means…
"It can't be… Are you Exus?!" Exclaimed Alan with surprise.
"You think I'm Lord Exus?" Asked the figure, letting out a demonical laugh that hurt Alan's ears. "No, I am just his true right hand. His powers are even higher than mine."
"Whoever you are, leave my cousin alone! He has nothing to do with this!"
"Oh, but he will be part of our plan. You humans are weak, but possess an… intriguing potential."
The portal was beginning to close. Alan tried to run, but his leg gave in and he fall face first into the ground.
"Wait!" Exclaimed Alan, extending his right arm towards the portal, pleading for it to not close.
"Don't worry, human. You'll see each other again. Become stronger, so you'll be usable to our Lord Exus."
As the portal completely closed, Alan could only hear the last whispers of this dark being.
"We'll meet again… human…"
Alan look for a few seconds at the place where the portal was, before punching the ground below his feet in frustration.
"Damn it!" Exclaimed Alan, punching the ground a couple of times, before stopping. "… we got separated again! I… I couldn't do anything… I am still very weak…"
Frustrated by his own weakness, Alan remained still for a few minutes. He didn't know what to do. He found his cousin, only to have to fight him and then lose him again. The only link he had of his home world (Other than Earth-chan, but she was a different case), was taken away. And of course, he didn't know what they'll do to him. Probably torture, or maybe mind control him even more.
"…or maybe… maybe I am the one being mind-controlled…"
Alan looked at his hands. While he still believes what he was seeing was true, the seeds of doubt have been planted in his mind. Is he really seeing the truth? Or like Reed said, he was being manipulated?
The sound of explosions and battle coming from the Crystal Room awoke him from his mental train, as he remembered where he was.
"No… this isn't the time to think of that. I need to help my friends." He said, looking at the Keyblade that was now close to him, and getting up. He closed his eyes, hold the Keyblade with both hands and raised it to his head, putting the guard of it on his forehead, trying to clear his mind of all other thoughts.
Even if he was starting to think this could be a lie, he need to follow his instincts… and, while remembering a phrase Chaos told him in his mind a few weeks ago, his instincts told him…
"May my heart be my guiding Key…"
…to follow his Heart.
"Gak!"
Steve was send crashing into a wall by a shadow ball spell, before falling into the ground. Duncan, who still didn't had enough energy after his battle, could only see how his student was being attacked by the Sorceress, who had more than enough energy.
"Steve! Are you ok?" Asked Duncan, looking how the other mage was slowly getting on his feet.
"Yes I am, master Duncan." Expressed Steve, taking deep breaths to recover his magic. His clothes were damaged, and he had some burn marks in his body. "Geez, that beauty is REALLY strong."
The mentioned beauty, Exia, was just stepping on the Kuriboh, who tried to attack her from behind, but was easily subdued by a slow spell and her heel. Hearing the young spellcaster, she smiled.
"I do have to admit, kid. You have a really high magical defense." Commented Exia, looking at Steve with malice. "You have resisted may of my spells and you're still standing. Congrats, you have high 'endurance'. However, you magic power is pretty… small."
"Ouch, seems like I was hit in my pride. But remember: is not the size that matters, but how you use it!"
"Ha! You do have my same mindset. I like you, kiddo. Unfortunately, you don't even KNOW how to use it correctly."
Steve's eye twitched at this comment.
"Ha! Burned!" Exclaimed the Kuriboh below Exia's heel.
"And you, little furball." Expressed Exia. "How do you feel being under my feet?"
"Lady, I'm not into that kind of stuff. Stop it."
"You're not fun."
With that, Exia removed her feet from the Kuriboh's back and kicked him like a soccer ball, crashing on Steve's face, making him fall into the ground. Just then, Exia felt that three more energies emerging from another room and, looking in that direction, saw that Kristal, Vivian and Sapphire enter the Crystal Room.
"Ah, so you were able to beat Letav, eh? Impressive." Expressed Exia with intrigue. "Letav was specially powered up by Lord Exus, so you defeating him is something to applaud. Then again, it was 2 Sages and one powerful magician, so I should have expected that."
"You will pay for what you did with the Crystal, Exia!" Exclaimed Kristal with anger.
"I only did my job, just like Letav did his: he distracted you so I could destroy the crystal. And now, only two more."
"We won't let you!"
It was then that, from the last corridor, Alan appeared, Keyblade in hand.
"Ah, and seems like the human beat the other human." Expressed Exia. "Buy your look, seems like you had a hard fight."
"Enough of that!" Exclaimed Alan, holding the Keyblade with both hands. "Bring my cousin back!"
"You are in no position to demand that, human… actually, none of you are." Expressed Exia, her smirk full of malice. "I have a surprise for you all… and it's outside. Shall we?"
Exia created a sphere of pure dark magic on her hands, forcing everyone on their guard. However, the Dark Sorceress shoot that magic into the ceiling of the temple, creating a large hole on it to the exterior.
"This temple is deep inside an island in the middle of the lake, so… I'll meet you all there!"
And with that, Exia flew toward the hole in the ceiling and into the exterior, leaving the rest of the group surprised.
"Wait!" Exclaimed Alan.
"Alan, wait!" Expressed Duncan, forcing the human to stop. "We are very tired and injured. Everyone, take your potions and elixirs. We'll probably need them. I am afraid that I know what is waiting for us outside."
The group agreed, and immediately took the potions and elixirs they brought from the Kuriboh City Tree, recovering their energies and healing themselves.
"Everyone ready?" Asked Duncan, looking at everyone. "Remember, no matter what we meet outside, stay together and we'll survive."
"Master Duncan… you know what is outside?" Asked Steve with confusion. Duncan didn't answer immediately, and that scared him.
"…it will be a long battle. Let's go!"
Everyone began to fly towards the hole in the ceiling, except Alan, who just jumped. After a few seconds, and like 20 meters of dirt and earth, since the temple was inside an island, the group emerged outside… and what they saw… scared them so much.
They were in the middle of the lake. The island was relatively large, probably 100 meters wide, and it was flat as a board. The lake was so big that they could see the shores on every side approximately 5 kilometers (or 3.1 miles) away in all directions. However, that was not what surprised them.
What surprised what ALL the shore and part of the forests around them, were covered in darkness… sentient darkness…that looked at them with their yellow eyes.
"Heartless!" Exclaimed Alan.
"And thousands of them!" Steve said, looking at the large numbers. "We are surrounded!"
Exactly. Thousands of Heartless were on the shores of the large lake, looking at them. Even the forest and part of the mountains close by were full of these dark creatures.
"Is this why you were nervous, Master?" Asked Kristal, her voice shaking a little, showing she was nervous herself.
"Yes, I was afraid of this." Answered Duncan, his fist shaking in anger. "I didn't forget the reports of the Kuriboh soldier that said that thousands of Heartless were approaching the Water Temple, but I was confused as to why we only meet so little. However, all of this was planned."
"Planned?" Asked Vivian with confusion… and then realized what the mage meant. "Wait… don't you mean…?"
"Yes: the Heartless stopped their advance just outside of our sight, and only small groups appeared here and there. Exia must have order them to delay the advance… so that when we enter the Water Temple, they were free to continue… to trap us inside the Temple."
"Exactly!"
The group looked up, and saw the voluptuous Sorcerer floating in the sky, her arms crossed over her large chest, smirking while looking down at them.
"I knew that you guys will come to the Water Temple, so I prepare this trap for you. Not only you opened the temple so I could enter and destroy the crystal, now you are all trapped here. You will die today!"
The group looked at her with anger, and she just smiled.
"Oh, but don't worry, I have 3 of you that won't be killed today." Said Exia, pointing at the two sages. "Lord Exus need the Sages, so you two will come with me. Also… you, human."
"Me? Why?" Asked Alan with confusion.
"Lord Exus wants that Keyblade of yours. With the powers of the Void and the Chaos Keyblade, he will be unstoppable!"
"You think I'll give it so easily?!"
"Of course not! I want to see you fight until your hopes and dreams are crushed by darkness!" Exclaimed Exia, extending her arms wide. "Show me a great spectacle! Attack, my minions!"
-Music: Tension Rising (Kingdom Hearts II Soundtrack)-
Having said that, the thousands of Heartless began to run towards the island. To their surprise, they were running on top of the water…
…no, there was a glass like material just on top of the water, and they were using it to cross the lake without touching it.
"A spell made by Exia, I suppose." Said Duncan.
"Probably." Commented Sapphire. "Even if the Crystal is gone, the waters around the lake still contain its energy. The creatures of darkness shouldn't be able to touch them without being purified."
"They are getting closer!" Exclaimed Steve.
Alan tried to focus on the Heartless, trying to see what they were facing. He could see some Shadows, NeoShadows, Dark Balls and Bit Snipers. However, he saw 3 others that he couldn't identify: a pterodactyl-like one (Named Fluttering), and two more that LOOK like Dark Balls, but some with fire and others with Ice (Named Flame Core and Water Core).
Well, at least he hasn't seen any Boss-level Heartless… for now…
"They'll be here in short! They move so fast!" Expressed Vivian, starting to be afraid.
"Calm down, we can take them!" Expressed the Kuriboh. "Any ideas?"
"Yes, I have one." Said Duncan, looking at the group. "Kristal, Sapphire, Alan and I will form a circle and try to attack everything in front of us. Vivian and Steve, you stay floating in the air and try to hit everyone who comes from the air and try to support with some spells to the ones on the ground. Kuriboh, you help them, killing every Heartless that gets pass their spells. If we stay in a circle, our backs will not be attacked, as they'll be protected by another of us. We will concentrate our fire just in front of us, is that clear?"
"Yes!" Exclaimed the rest, as they get ready.
Kristal, Sapphire, Alan and Duncan stayed in the ground, forming a circle, each one being at least two meters (or 6.5 feet) from each other. Vivian and Steve, on the other hand, were floating probably two meters on top of the circle made by the ones on the ground. They were back to back, as they needed to be closer. Kuriboh just was on top of them, floating just a head over Steve. With their formation ready, they waited for the heartless to come… and they were near.
"Everyone, once they reach the island, launch every spell you can at them, is that clear?!" Asked Duncan.
"Yes, Master!" exclaimed everyone.
The Heartless were getting closer and closer and… eventually, reached the shore.
"Attack!"
Everyone who could create a spell launch their attacks against the Heartless. The front Heartless were destroyed with ease by the first wave of spells, but the ones behind them continue on their way to reach them, before another wave of spells hit them and destroy them. This continued for a few more minutes, as the heroes managed to keep the Heartless at bay. However, they were getting closer each time, and, eventually, they managed to reach the circle and attack them directly.
The heroes continued to repel the Heartless: Kristal, Duncan and Steve used their multiple spells to destroy several Heartless at the same time; Alan stopped using Blizzard spells and now opted to kill them with his Keyblade; Sapphire used her trident and water spells while Vivian used her claws and wind spells; the Kuriboh just slashed every Heartless that approached with the sword and shield.
They fought hard… and they had too, as the waves of Heartless keep coming, and even if they have already beaten several before they reached them, it seems like the waves were endless and they keep coming. They were running low on energy.
"If anyone is tired, drink a potion!" Exclaimed Duncan, before using a Thundaga spell to beat several Heartless at the same time.
The group continued the fight, and form various minutes, reaching an hour, they managed to repel the Heartless, as their backs were protected by their friends. However, they already knew they will probably lose this one if something doesn't happen, as they will run out of energy. They need a miracle…
… and it just arrived.
As Exia was floating in the sky, smirking at the battle that was happening, she began to hear some explosions… on the other direction.
"What the…?" She asked to herself, looking back and seeing something that she didn't expect.
Kuribohs… Armored ones… hundreds of them, using swords and spears to defeat the heartless.
"Fight! Send these creatures to the shadows where they came!" Exclaimed the Kuriboh King, using the sword to bisect one Heartless that approached him.
"Oh my Lord, the furball army is here!" Expressed Exia with some surprise. "Didn't though they would fight in here. Oh well, if they want to reach the center… I shall allow them."
With a snap of her finger, the Heartless make way so that the Kuriboh Army could reach the center and join forces with the heroes, forming a defensive circle around them.
"My lord!" Exclaimed the Kuriboh that followed the group, immediately kneeling in front of them. "The Crystal… it was…"
"No time for that, my child." Expressed the King. "We need to defeat these dark beings."
"Oh, and you think you could do it?" Expressed Exia in the air.
"Of course!" Exclaimed Steve. "With the Kuribohs in here, our numbers are enough to defeat yours!"
"Oh, silly mage… did you really think…"
"…that she came alone?"
-Music end-
Before anyone could say anything, suddently, everyone felt a dark aura surrounding the whole area, forcing them to get on guard.
"What the? What is this powerful energy?" Asked Sapphire with confusion, as a dark power surrounded the area.
However, unlike her, the Kuribohs and Alan, the three spellcasters and the Harpie Girl looked in shock… as they remember that energy.
"No… it can't be!" Exclaimed Duncan with surprise. "Not him!"
Suddently, a cloud of pure darkness appeared and spin in the form of a tornado, growing larger and larger. After reaching 20 meters in height, the darkness swirls disappeared, and revealed a figure, a demon like being, with golden skin and armor, wearing a dark cloak. His face was like that of a goblin or demon, looking at the group with red eyes. Only his left golden arm was visible, while the right one was hidden in the cloak.
When they saw it, the ones who recognized the energy looked at him in shock. And Alan recognized him immediately.
"Is the fucking Invader of Darkness again!"
Exactly. It was the Invader of Darkness, the one they fought on the ruined city of Slaifaa, several days ago, where they rescued the 2 girls Camille and Isolde. He was here, looking at the heroes and the Kuriboh army with malice.
"We meet again." Expressed the Invader of Darkness. "You think you defeated me back then?"
"No way! A freaking mountain fell on top of you!" Exclaimed Alan with surprise.
"Indeed. However, that is not enough to destroy the darkness. I have returned and I will have my revenge upon you!"
"Glad to see you make it here, Invi." Expressed Exia, floating close to the Invader of Darkness. "I was wondering if I will have all the fun for myself."
"Apologies, Miss Exia. I was recollecting all the darkness on the continent so we could reach this place."
"What?" Asked Vivian. "The darkness of the whole continent?! Impossible."
"Ah, but it is. Even if you kill the Heartless, the darkness where they came remains and grows as time passes. That is why Heartless attacks became even more dangerous, as they get stronger and more numerous. And now… I bring them all to you. Come, my minions!"
Suddently, the whole landscape was surrounded by darkness. Even the mountains and hills close to the lake were fill in darkness… and from that darkness came the Heartless. If before they had to face approximately 10,000 Heartless, now they had to face approximately 50,000... if not double that.
"No way…" expressed Kristal in shock. "Is impossible."
"Haha! That is the look!" Exclaimed Exia with malice. "That is the look of hopelessness I was waiting! Is useless to fight! The darkness will consume you all!"
"Exactly!" Expressed the Invader of Darkness. "Darkness will prevail and Light will expire. Your future is already decided!"
"I refuse!" Exclaimed Alan, taking a step forward, and holding his left fist in front of him, shaking it in anger. "The future hasn't been decided yet! And even if it was, I will FIGHT to change that! I refuse to believe dying here is my destiny!"
"Then fight for your life and I will show you how small your hope is! Disappear!"
And with that, the rest of the Heartless began to run towards the island where the temple was. The group prepared themselves to form a circle and try to resist like last time… but the Invader of Darkness formed a large orb of darkness and threw it towards the heroes.
"Move away!" Exclaimed Duncan, as the orb of darkness approached.
Everyone managed to evade the orb, but the explosion send everyone flying in different directions. They were separated, and the Heartless where approaching.
"No time to regroup! Fight for your lives!" Exclaimed the Kuriboh King, as he had to destroy some Heartless with his sword.
And so, the fight was on. The group was separated and had to fight on their own, with their backs no longer protected by their friends.
It was now every man, woman and Kuriboh for themselves.
The fight continued. Everyone tried their best to defeat the Heartless that attacked them. Magic, spears, swords and even claws and fist. They used whatever they could to survive, as the waves of Heartless keep appearing. It was during the fight that Vivian, looking at the distance, saw something horrible.
More Heartless keep appearing at the same rate they are eliminating them.
"Oh no! More Heartless are coming!" Exclaimed Vivian with surprise, alerting the group.
"You are wrong!" Exclaimed Exia, getting the attention of everyone. "Those are no new Heartless. Those are the ones you defeated a couple of hours ago when you start this battle."
"What did you say?!" Asked Sapphire with surprise, while Duncan clenched his fists, knowing the answer.
"You can't destroy the darkness of this place." Said the Invader of Darkness with malice. "Your weapons or magic are useless against them. You can destroy their bodies, but the darkness will prevail and they will reform in a couple of hours. You are fighting a lost battle."
"No way…" said Kristal with surprise. "You mean… they will keep coming? No one is completely dead?"
"There is one exception." Expressed Exia, pointing at Alan, who just swing his Keyblade to kill 3 Heartless at once. "The human can kill them completely, because he has the weapon designed to completely eradicate them: The Keyblade!"
"However, it's useless, as he'll be completely drained before he kills even 10 percent of the Heartless in this place. You are only delaying the inevitable!"
"I don't care!" Exclaimed Alan, cutting a NeoShadow with his Keyblade. "I will fight until my last breath! I refuse to die in here!"
"You are free to TRY!" Exclaimed the Invader of Darkness, before he threw a punch towards Alan.
The human saw the giant fist coming at him, so he jumped away from him. However, in the air, he was helpless, as he was swat away by the Invader of Darkness' other hand. The strike was hard, almost breaking Alan's aura barrier, as he puked some blood because of it. The human was send flying several meters back, before falling into the ground, almost unconscious. The Heartless, knowing the Keyblade is the only way they will get kill, used this opportunity to launch themselves towards the unconscious human… but the sword of the Kuriboh King immediately bisected several of them.
"Soldiers, to me! Protect the human! He is our only hope to kill these creatures for good!" Exclaimed the King, cutting a few more Heartless.
"Yes, your majesty!" Exclaimed several Kuriboh Knights, forming a circle around the unconscious Alan, and began to repel the Heartless.
Meanwhile, the Invader of Darkness wanted to attack Alan again, but as he was about to walk in their direction, he received a powerful Dark Magic Attack in the face, making him back away. Looking on his side, he saw that Duncan was facing him, his staff pointed at him, with dark energy left on the tip of it.
"You dare to oppose me, magician? This will be your grave!"
"I don't think so." Expressed Duncan, while his two students appeared on his side. "Kristal, Steve. Let's face this demon."
"Master, are you going to use your powerful technique?" Asked Kristal with intrigue, not removing her sight from her enemy.
"No. The Dark Plasma Blast takes too much of my energy and takes so much time. If I were to try it on him, he'll attack me and won't let me concentrate. Besides, if I use it like that, I won't have energy to face the thousands of Heartless. And I don't think it will beat him."
"So…what do we do?" Asked Steve, his voice showing the fear he was feeling, but tried to repress…with no luck.
"…try to survive. Let's go!"
"Yes, master!" Expressed the two students, as they charged their spells and clashed head on with the Invader of Darkness.
The battle continued for an hour more, but it was showing that they were on the losing side. More Heartless keep appearing, making this an unending battle.
Meanwhile, Alan slowly started to regain his consciousness.
"What… what happened?" He asked to himself, as he was waking up.
Alan stood up, slowly, disoriented and tired, and looked at his friends. They were all fighting the Invader of Darkness while still trying to fend off the Heartless... but with no avail. They were getting extremely tired, especially since they had been fighting for so long, and the number of Heartless were still extremely high. Even with the help of the Kuriboh army, they were outnumbered, and the Invader of Darkness was already very powerful. And like the Invader of Darkness said, every Heartless killed by normal weapons or magic will eventually reform. Only holy magic, divine energy and the Keyblade can completely destroy the Darkness… and right now, they only have ONE Keyblade.
He saw the battle folding around them, and how some Kuribohs were being consumed by the darkness and transformed into Heartless.
"This… this is hopeless…"
Alan knew that it was only a matter of time before all the potions run out and they became exhausted. He already was, as he used up his potions and was running low on energy. He knew the spellcasters were on their lasts legs, though, and were ready to make a final stand. But the number of Heartless… they only managed to defeat probably one fifth of them, as they were still thousands in the hills close to the lake.
...and they were reforming...
"What… what can I do?!"
Alan griped his Keyblade in frustration. He had little power left to do… anything. He tried to contact Earth-chan or Chaos but…it was no use; he can't contact them. They were deeply asleep inside his Heart. Those two were his last cards. If he couldn't contact them, then… what can he do?
"Wait… my last…card…"
Immediately, Alan used the crystal to open that magic space to get the things he store in, and took his Deck of Cards. Looking at the very last one, he picked it up and looked at it.
…the Card of the Ancient God: Osiris, The Sky Dragon.
'Ok, THIS is my last card' Though Alan, storing the whole deck back to the magic space. 'If I can't summon this thing… It's the end!'
Taking a deep breath, Alan stuck his Keyblade on the ground, and hold the card with his left hand, imprint his aura on it, before raising it to the sky.
"I SUMMON OSIRIS, THE SKY DRAGON!" Exclaimed with all his might, trying to imprint even more of his aura in the card to summon it.
… but nothing happened…
"Damn it! Again!" Exclaimed Alan, raising his hand with the card again into the sky. "OSHIRISU NO TENKURYU O SHOKAN!" Exclaimed Alan, this time even stronger, trying to summon the creature.
…but nothing happened…
"Damn it!" yelled Alan in frustration. "Why I can't summon it?! Is it only Yugi who can do it? Do I have to call it Slifer like in the dub? … maybe I NEED a Duel Disk… But I have none! And I don't know any other way to use the magic of a card to sumo-…"
Alan just stopped, and looked at the card in his hand. There was only 2 ways to use a card to summon magical creatures that he remembers. One is to use a Duel Disk or the power of a Millenium Item to summon it.
...and the other one…
He quickly grabbed his Keyblade again, and immediately began to spin it with his right arm, imprinting his energy on it.
"Card which hides the powers of the sky, reveal your true power to me! I, Alan, the vessel of Chaos, command you!"
Using a variation of the unsealing chant of Card Captor Sakura's Sealing Wand, Alan imprint his aura on the Osiris Card, tossing it into the air over his head. The card, strangely, began to spin over Alan, not moving from his place, and that is when Alan knew the spell was working.
And so, with all his might, Alan raised his right arm and hit the card with the tip of the Keyblade, releasing the energy accumulated in the spin.
"RELEASE! OSIRIS THE SKY DRAGON!"
-Music: Battle of God (Yu-Gi-Oh! Soundtrack)-
The moment the Keyblade touched the card and inject it with all of the energy, the card itself began to glow and float in the air, before it enclosed itself in a ball of lightning, releasing lightning bolts that hit all the Heartless close to him. Then… the ball of lightning exploded, and a giant yellow thunder shot upward into the air, sending Alan flying backwards, falling into his back.
The explosion of the ball of lighting and the imminent thunder shock cause EVERYONE to stop fighting and look back at what was happening. They saw how the yellow thunder hit the dark clouds that formed over the area, and just after that, lightning began to dance in the clouds, and striking the ground constantly.
"What? What is this?" Asked Exia, who was still floating in the air, looking at the lighting coming from the clouds.
On the ground, the heroes looked to the sky to see what was happening. Even the Invader of Darkness and the Heartless stop moving to look at the sky.
…and then, everyone felt a powerful burst of energy, making it feel like the gravity of the place was increased, while hearing a powerful roar that shook them to the bones.
"What the...?!" Asked Steve with confusion, regaining his feet.
Everyone used their auras to try and stay on their feet, as they saw the lighting increased in intensity on the clouds, and they could see… something moving on them.
"What is that?" Asked the Kuriboh with confusion.
"No…It can't be!" Exclaimed Duncan, since he saw what Alan did, and couldn't believe what was happening.
Then, everyone saw… how a large, serpent like creature, began to descend from the clouds, reveling itself.
"What?!" Asked Kristal with shock.
"No way!" Exclaimed Vivian.
Everyone looked in awe at the large, red serpent like giant that just left the clouds, a creature that they haven't seen in several millennia, one that they thought have left their world for good.
Descending from the storm clouds, surrounded in lighting, was the Ancient God, the Egyptian God, the Sky beast…
…the Sky Dragon Osiris…
…and its roar shook the hearts of everyone.

Author Notes:
Alright! Another chapter done!
So, I added some music on this chapter. Just a few ones. The opening one is not that much necessary, as unless I create an opening, you cant imagine what I do in it. However, that is what I have in mind for its opening (One day I WILL make an animation... I just need money and time DX)
The rest of the music, on the other hand, I think it adds a little more flavor to it. Hopefully you think the same.
So... Letav is gone, Reed was captured by something, Exia is still sexy as ever (and likes to make innuendos), they are surrounded by Darkness and now the Invader of Darkness is here... oh boy.
At least they have a Furball army...
And Alan summoned Osiris... ohhh boy!
In the original version of my fanfic, I didnt add the Egyptian Gods because... wasnt into giant monsters back them until the end of the original Episode II and starting Episode IV. Now on this remake, I HAD to add them. And so, here is the first one. Osiris.
And yeah, I only know 2 ways to summon monsters from cards: the Yu-Gi-Oh! way (using a Duel Disk), and the Card Captor Sakura way (using a magic KEY). Since Alan didnt had a duel disk to summon Osiris, he had to go for the magical way. Sure, I know of other ways to summon monsters, but back then I only remembered these two.
Anyway, hope you liked this :D
By the way, in 2 weeks, I will take a one week break, so once this saga of the water temple finishes, I will take a break, because the fic is catching me up, and I want to have some chapters extras on my side. I will tell you all once that happens.
Anyway, see ya next time!
