Author's note: I own nothing, also I know some of you are curious as I chose to have minato summon thanatos in the third chapter, this was because I feel like since he doesn't want people to die he would go almost all out against elder grimm which the deathstalker and nevermore were.
chapter 4: First day of Classes, and Arcanas.
Minato woke up in his bed, sitting up he yawned lightly before getting up. It was 6:00, the perfect time to get ready for him, even if he never really liked getting up that early. He walked to the bathroom and started up the shower, he undressed and stepped into the shower. Since he couldn't bring his mp3 into the shower he hummed.
The blue haired messiah hummed along to the tune of the Velvet room, washing his hair as he did so. 15 minutes later he got out of the shower, drying himself off before dressing himself for the day, his hair a bit messed up he picked up his brush. He walked out back into his team's room to see they all were awake now.
"Ah, good morning Minato." Pyrrha said as she looked at him, the other two members looking at him as well. "Good Morning Pyrrha, Ren, Nora." Minato said, nodding before he brushed his hair. "What's the plan for today Leader?" Ren asked, getting up. Minato sat on his bed and thought a bit after setting down the brush.
"Since we only have Port and Oobleck today, their lessons both being an hour both I believe that we should do some training after lunch. Then we can have our free time to do as we want." Minato said simply. "When does class start again? I forgot." Nora asked. "9:00." Ren and Minato said at the same time with a sigh.
"Well the plan seems to be quite simple, also, how about we plan to talk about your ability. The rest of us and Team RWBY are very curious about it." Pyrrha said. "Understandable. We can do that at lunch or after training. After training would work the best." Minato said, agreeing to do so.
"Wait, I have a question!" Nora said. "Go ahead." Minato replied, looking at the hammer wielding red head. "Do you have any of those personwhatas that break people's legs?" Nora asked happily. "Most of them can do that, but none of them does that as a main skill." The blue haired wild card replied, making Nora slightly upset but still excited.
"Though I will admit there is a persona you might like since he goes well with your persona." Minato admitted, thinking back to Thor. "Ooh! he controls lighting!?" Nora asks. "I won't deny, or prove that fact, I'd rather keep it for later." The bluette leader said. "Anyways, Since we have time, Ren, me and you should step out of the room while Nora and Pyrrha take there showers." Minato added as he got up, got his mp3 and his scroll, stepping out pf the room.
Ren nodded and followed, grabbing his scroll as well, looking at the mp3 player curiously. Once the two were out of the room Ren and Minato stood by the door after closing it. "Minato, what is that strange device?" Ren asked. "You mean my mp3 player? It is basically like a scroll but only for music." Minato replied.
"Hm, may I try it?" Ren asked, interested in the cylindrical music player. Minato nodded and gave him the headphones, playing one of the songs he listens to, Mass Destruction just starting. Ren put on the headphones and he was suddenly met with the word "baby" repeating over and over at a quick pace before a rap started.
"Hm, Strange but, not bad." Ren thought in his head, continuing to listen to the song. After the song ended Ren handed the headphones back to his leader. "Strange Taste in music, but still very good." Ren said. "Yeah." Minato agreed, admitting that some of the music he listened to was a bit strange.
After an hour team AVRN was ready for class, heading to breakfast. After eating and chatting they headed to their first class, sitting in the same row. Professor Port walked up to Minato with a great interest, classes weren't starting yet so he wanted to ask a question. "Mr. Arisato, I was shown your little stunt during the entrance exam. Was that thing you summoned really the God of death?" Port asked.
"You mean Thanatos? He's the greek God of death.. one of my weaker personas." Minato replied. "How is he weak?" Ren asked. "He's strong, yes, but compared to other personas he is one of the weaker ones. Even Alice gives him a bit of a run for his money." The wild card said nonchalantly, Alice being flattered at this in the sea of souls.
"Alice?" Pyrrha asked. "Persona of mine, controls people and asks them to die for her, To sum it up she is one of the best ones for ending a battle quickly." Minato admitted, people deadpanning at his bluntness. "Sounds... lovely." Port said, shuddering a little. "Don't you have any light hearted personas?" Pyrrha asked.
"Jack Frost, Pixie, Jack O' Lantern, and a few others." Minato replied, sending a wave of relief over his teammates and the professor. "Mr. Arisato, I am tempted to ask you to perform today a little test against some grimm I've captured, you can use your personas but please not those Alice or Thanatos characters." Port said.
"Sure." Minato said, agreeing to that. Professor Port nodded and once team RWBY arrived class begun. "Monsters, Deemonsss, creatures of the night are all different names for Grimm, but I call them PREY! ha haha." Port said before going on a long winded speech about his "glory days".
"In the end there are many different things that would describe a hunter or huntress." Port said. "A hunter must have discipline." He said as Ruby was goofing off a little. "They must be attentive." he added while Ruby fell asleep. "And they must show quick adaption to any situation." He finished.
"Originally I was going to ask all of you wether or not any of you believe they have these traits. But I selected One to attempt to show that he has these traits. Mr. Arisato make your way down here please." Port said and Minato got up, jumping down and taking out his Evoker and his sword.
Port chuckled heartily before joining the students up in the chairs as he pressed a button releasing two boartusk grimm. The two grimm charged at Minato, the boy dodging and flipping over them, landing on one of the cages as he placed his evoker against his temple. "PERSONA! Come forth, Jack Frost!" He exclaimed, pulling the trigger.
Like the other times the sound of glass shattering filled the area as blue flames swirled around, this time a small white creature with a blue jester's cap appeared. "Yohoohoo! Time for a quick show stopper!" Jack Frost exclaimed. "Cute." Some of the students thought as they looked at the little fellow.
"Mabufu!" Minato exclaimed and Jack Frost laughed happily as he sent ice flying at the boartusks, freezing them as the jumped into the air. Minato then rushed forward, cutting through the grimm several times before they exploded into black and icy dust. "Bravo! Bravo! You adapt very quickly my fine fellow. No doubt you'd be Glynda's best student!" Port said with a smile.
"I'm not really aiming to be the best though, just to improve where I need improvement." Minato said, Jack Frost disappearing as the blue haired boy walked back to his team. "Oh well, you are very skilled no doubt about that, now everyone that concludes the lesson. No homework for the day." Port said, everyone then leaving to the next class.
The next class went by quickly, Oobleck talking a mile per minute, no homework as well. During lunch both team AVRN and RWBY sat at the same table, Minato finishing his food as to answer any questions both his team and RWBY have. "So, I've been meaning to ask, but why do you have so many personas?" Weiss asked, curiously.
"Well, usually persona users can only use one. I however am what's known as a "Wild Card" where I can use multiple personas. Persona users are based off of Arcanas from tarot cards, I hold both the Universe and the Fool arcanas. However I only gained the Universe Arcana during a journey I had with my first group I was apart of." Minato explained.
"What group are you talking about?" Blake asked. "A group at my old school, it was called S.E.E.S, we were in charge of executing a certain type of grimm, we were all persona users though." Minato replied, remembering his time with S.E.E.S. "If you don't mind me asking, what does S.E.E.S. Stand for?" Ren asked.
"Special Extracurricular Execution Squad." The blue haired messiah said simply. "Sounds interesting to say the least." Weiss said, "what was your part in the team?" She asked. "I was the combat Leader, the leader for non-combat affairs was named Misturu, she used a rapier like you, however her hair was crimson like Pyrrha's and she had crimson eyes as well." Minato replied.
"What was your relationship with her like?" Yang asked with a smirk. "We were close friends, as I was with the entirety of S.E.E.S." He said with a small smile, though barely noticable. "Sounds like you were important to them." Blake said. "Believe me... they were much more important to me than the world at the time.. however, certain circumstances now stop me from meeting them again." Minato said with a sad tone, now frowning.
"Are you ok Minato?" Ruby asked, Minato nodded, a sliding down the cheek hidden by his hair. "Anyways, any more questions about personas?" Minato asked. "I'm more curious about arcanas, what would ours be?" Blake asked. "Hm... that may be a tough one to answer, based on what I know so far I am sure of a couple." Minato replied.
"Let's start with Ren, I believe he'd be temperance." He said, Ren nodding with a smile. "Pyrrha, Lovers arcana." He added, making Pyrrha blush. "Yang, I am tied between her and Nora on the Strength arcana, but I guess I'd give Nora the Star arcana and Yang the Magician arcana." He continued. "Yang fits the Magician arcana better to be honest, same with Nora and the Star." He quickly explained.
"Blake, the Justice arcana. Weiss, Hanged Man arcana. Now then there is Ruby." Minato said, thinking for a minute. "I am not sure, The World arcana? Or the Fool? Please take into consideration that just because the fool is number 0 that does not mean it is weak, just like how I am the fool." He continued.
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked. "Zero has another meaning... unlimited potential, you got a head start to Beacon by sheer luck, just how I am good at weapons mastery, You basically could be a protagonist, you are defined by the Fool." Minato finished. "Minato, is it alright if we push back the training, I believe we should continue this." Ren said.
"That is alright, I feel like you'd all want to know why I define you by your arcanas." The blue haired messiah replied with a nod. They all got up and headed out to be by the main fountain. "Now, I already described why Ruby was the Fool. But now let's continue as to why the rest of you are your Arcanas." Minato said.
"Ooh! Me first! Why am I the Star!?" Nora asked. "The Star represents happiness and hope.. something you seemingly have unlimited amounts of, you are energetic and fun-loving." Minato stated, Nora beaming at this description. "Ren, you are Temperance because of how you live your life, you are simple, sticking to a easy-going routine yet will have the backs of your friends no matter what." He said, Ren chuckliing lightly.
"Is that so?" Ren asks. "Well... it is actually kind of true from what we could tell." Yang said. "Pyrrha, you are the Lovers arcana because you seek a significant relationship, that is easily seen by some because you are put on a pedestal, expected to live up to that, yet you only want a relationship that makes you truly happy." Minato said, reading Pyrrha like an open book.
The crimson haired Spartan girl blushed at this, but accepted it. "Now onto the rest of Team RWBY. Weiss, the Hanged Man arcana, you look like the kind of person who is stuck between two extremely opposite decisions. I personally do not know the decisions you are struggling with, but I can tell you are forced to choose." The wild card said, Weiss frowning and looking down at her hands.
"Yang, you are the Magician's arcana because of your use of your abilities. You know how to use them, you know how to use them to protect those you care about, you may not be an actual magician, but you don't have to be to be defined as the Magician arcana." He continued, Yang smiling at this. "Now then there is Blake." Minato said.
"Your views. Your wish for equality amongst humans and faunus, you strive for the equality that the Justice arcana represents." He explained, Blake going wide eyed at this. "Wait, what arcana's would Ozpin, and Glynda have?" Yang asked with a smirk. "Ozpin, the Hierophant, and Glynda, the Empress." Minato said, and speak of the devil the two professors walking up to them.
"Hm, you define me as the Hierophant. I guess that is accurate, I do focus on the past a bit too much at times." Ozpin said, taking a sip of coffee. "Why am I the Empress? Please Elaborate." Glynda asked. "You see Glynda, the Empress defined by women who hold authority, though I believe this arcana would be shared between you and Ms. Schnee's sister Winter." Ozpin explained, Glynda sighing with a faint blush spreading across her cheeks.
"Anyways, I could not hear what Arcana's your team and Ruby's team were." Ozpin said. "I'm the Fool." Ruby said. "Magician Yang Reporting for duty!" Yang said with a chuckle. "The Hanged Man." Weiss said. "Justice." Blake added. "Lovers Arcana." Pyrrha replied. "The Star!" Nora exclaimed. "Temperance. As what Minato thinks." Ren said.
"Fitting for all of you. I see that Ruby is described by Minato's own Arcana as well, intriguing." Ozpin said with a smile before walking off, leaving the two teams to spend the rest of their day together.
