"You're all vampires?" I whispered.

Nick's arms wrapped tighter around my waist, and his face tucked itself behind my ear. Oddly close to my neck. I pulled away, heart pounding. Nick didn't attempt to put his head back but kept his arms around my waist.

Chris sighed, "Yes."

The room was silent as the news settled on me. Lorelai came over slowly and sat on the coffee table by my feet.

"Why did they attack me though?" I asked.

"We have reason to believe you're part witch," Chris glared at my aunt, but not in an I'm-going-to-kill-you way, more of You-need-to-explain-this.

"Which one?" I asked, looking at her. My chest hurt, as did my throat. My head was beginning to ache as well, a dull and throbbing pain.

"Your mother," Lorelai said. Blonde hair was swept over her shoulder, and eyes were focused on the ground. "Our entire bloodline was."

"What about Dad?" I asked. I knew my parents had something to them. They would not have been killed if that wasn't a fact. They had never been around beforehand anyway though, so I didn't really care. It was the fact that I had to move to a whole new school, and that I needed to move in with a woman who I had never met (but grew to love).

"A vampire," Lorelai mumbled.

The trio of boys, who I nearly forgot about, sucked in a breath at once. I looked at them, "What was so wrong about that?"

"Witches are the sworn enemies of vampires, as a whole. Sometimes vampires can be against each other, but against witches... They're our sworn enemies," Chris explained, sitting next to Lorelai.

"However, your mom and Dad, they had a special bond. Witches and Vampires had never even looked at each other in a friendly manner since they were created. It was always just inter-species relationships. But, when your parents met a few decades ago, they fell in love," Lorelai smiled, eyes on the ground as she remembered the past, "They didn't start dating until about five years before you were born, and got married a year before you were born." She looked up at me, "They were the first-ever witch-vampire couple."

"And I'm the first witch-vampire?" My aunt, no matter how much she loved my parents, never really talked about them. Now I understood why. I would have gone crazy telling kids at school I was a witch-vampire, which would have surely gotten me kicked out.

"The first one that was born that way. Most witches who are bitten by vampires end up dying within a few hours, so while you aren't the first one ever, you're the first surviving one," Chris said. The idea of dying like that made me queasy, and I laced my fingers through Nick's for comfort.

I noticed that Tyler and Nick were being quiet the whole ordeal, so I figured I would ask, "Why are you two being so quiet?"

Tyler looked up, "I don't know much of this stuff. I was just turned a couple of years ago, so I'm still a fledgling." He still looked like he did in his senior year. Was he always going to look like this?

Nick rubbed my arm, "I'm also a fledgling. You are until you're 50, and I'm not quite that old."

I was suddenly curious, turning to look at my boyfriend, "How old are you then?"

Nick blushed, "I'm actually 41." He looked like Tyler's age as well. It was honestly a little frustrating that he was old enough to be my father, and that I didn't know before now.

I giggled, "You look good for a 41-year-old."

The room was filled with laughs as Nick leaned forward and kissed my cheek.

After the laughter died down, Chris leaned forward, "I think we need to go to Everild."

Lorelai looked at the vampire, "I can't go. He won't let me in."

Tyler scoffed, "You've helped us so much. Why not?"

Lorelai gave him a look, and it dawned on him. His mouth formed an 'o' as my aunt shook her head.

I had a random, and possibly stupid, idea pop into my head. "Can I convince him?" I asked, sitting up.

Everyone looked at me like I was crazy before Chris spoke up, "No. He won't listen to you since you haven't even developed properly yet."

I was a little offended, but persisted anyway, "True, but I'm also the only living being of a love that was apparently forbidden, so technically since I'm also half-witch he wouldn't want to see me either."

Chris looked at the ground, grumbling something. He finally turned and walked upstairs, pulling his phone out. The room was oddly quiet with him now gone.

"How long has he been around?" I asked Nick.

"Few hundred years. He's said he's fought in every American war, including the Revolutionary War," Nick mumbled against my shoulder. It sent chills down my spine, making me clutch onto his arms. He was old.

"What about this... Everild?" I asked.

"Even longer," Tyler said, "Was one of the first ones turned by the first line of vampires."

"Jeez," I mumbled.

Chris came down a second later, "Everild said that you can come to the base. Lorelai, you're allowed as well as long as you don't perform any magic that can remotely harm any of our vampires. The same thing goes for Reece."

I shrugged, "I haven't really practiced so that won't be hard for me."

"Yeah, we have some training to do," Aunt Lorelai said, brushing her hair back.
