Remnant's Guardian-6

~Scythe: POV~

I groaned in my sleeping bag, as I woke up. It felt like someone had their arms wrapped around me, and to my shock, someone did. Yang was sleeping soundly, using me like a body pillow, and was even topless, which made me blush, as her body was pressed up right against mine. She had warned me last night when I set up my sleeping bag, that she developed a weird sleeping habit when she hit puberty, I guess this is it.

Carefully, as to not wake her, I reached to where I saw her shirt lay, and gently pulled myself out of her grasp before I put her shirt back on her. After that, I went and got changed into my workout attire, and hit the gym. It was weird using actual equipment for my workouts now. I was so used to using the outdoors and what was around me, that I didn't think I'd be able to use a gym.

After my workout was finished, I quickly showered, and got dressed in a change of clothes, before I went for breakfast. The sign for what was for breakfast said it was biscuits and gravy. My favorite dish for breakfast. I wasn't much into the gravy, but when I stacked the buttered biscuit with sausage patties and eggs, it was always a treat to eat. The cafeteria had other options on the menu, but I wanted to go with what they were mainly serving today.

I sat down with a literal mountain of eggs, biscuits, and sausage patties, before gorging myself on them, I finished the last one just as Yang and Ruby came by and sat across from me at the table. Ruby with a plate of cookies, and Yang with scrambled eggs, and bacon strips with two pieces of toast.

"Ruby you seriously need to eat something healthier than that." Yang said, chastising her sister.

"I'm fine Yang, don't worry about it." Ruby exclaimed.

"She's right you know." I added. "With the amount of sugar I've seen you take in so far, you're well on your way to being a type2 Diabetic."

"Not you to." Ruby groaned.

"C'mon Ruby." Yang said.

Without either of them noticing, I snuck away from the table, with my tray, and Ruby's, before I went and put the empty tray dishes on where they needed to be cleaned, and before Ruby could notice her cookies were gone, I stuffed them into a small plastic bag I had on me for impromptu makeshift bombs with Dust, when they were needed in the field.

I grabbed another tray, and quickly filled it with already peeled hardboiled eggs, strawberries, and a couple orange slices, and a glass of apple juice, she had a glass of milk. I turned around and deadpanned, Ruby was still too focused on arguing with Yang, she didn't even once notice her cookies were missing.

When I returned to the table, I pulled out a water bottle I had filled with some of the scotch Vernal bought me, and I took a swig as I witnessed Ruby nonchalantly grab a hardboiled egg, still too distracted arguing with Yang, and took a bite out of it. That's when she realized her cookies were gone.

"Hey. Where'd my cookies go?" Ruby questioned, looking down at the tray full of healthy food.

I looked away, whistling innocently when Yang looked to me, and I could tell she had the biggest shit eating grin on her face because she knew it was me, who switched out Ruby's food.

"Eat the food on your tray Ruby." Yang said.

"Fine. You're really pressing hard on me, like dad would." Ruby grumbled eating the food, and drinking the milk and apple juice.

After that we all went to the locker room to gather our gear, and I was annoyed to see Weiss trying to talk her way into being friends with the redhead, Pyrrha Nikos. I didn't know her, and I honestly didn't care about her status, but I did care that she was being manipulated. I was about to go over there and give her a piece of my mind, before Loverboy Jaune, came in and began flirting with the Ice-Queen. I wanted to laugh and face palm myself at the same time, I knew where this was gonna end up going, but I also wanted to see how it ended.

But I knew it would be a problem if Pyrrha used her weapon to pin him to a wall by any part of his clothes, so I stepped in, pulled Jaune away, and when he started to complain, I told him to thank me later, for saving his ass from having to save up another 50 box tops to get another Pumpkin Pete's Hoodie. I used to have the same hoodie, so I knew what he was wearing under his armor, and how difficult it was to get one.

Out on the Cliffside outfacing the Emerald Forest, I just stood on the platform that I was put on. I figured with what we were standing on, we were gonna work on landing strategies as our first test for initiations. I ignored most of what Professor Ozpin said, only paying attention to the main points. Find the relics, and destroy anything in our path, easy enough.

"Now, get ready. You will be practicing your landing strategy when the initiation begins." Ozpin said, before the blonde professor beside him began sending off students from their launch pads.

Quickly I took a drink of the scotch in my water bottle, and clipped it back to my belt before I was sent off flying through the air. Thankfully, I'm at my best when I'm a little buzzed.

As I went flying through the air, I decided to just let myself fall to the ground, and right before impact, I hardened my entire body as much as I could, creating a trench as I skid to a halt. One of the perks that Watts's steroid did to me, was enhance my natural toughness. Which mean not only did I have the armor that had surgically been installed under my skin, but I also had my hard as metal skin become stronger, when I used my Semblance.

Problem was if I pushed myself too far with my Semblance, I would go berserk, and I would basically turn into a Grimm without the black fur or bone armor and mask. The only thing that could stop me, is a special song that Vernal sang to me as a lullaby when I was little.

As the hours passed, and I trekked through the Emerald Forest, I came to the realization, that I was not gonna come across anyone. Which meant I was probably gonna be the one sent home after initiation was over.

As I thought about how much of a letdown this would be, I heard a girlish scream echoing through the air, and realized someone must have run into an ancient Grimm.

"I might want to hurry it along." I said as I began to run.

I had been a pretty far distance away from the ruins when the scream went off, and by the time I got there, Ruby was going 1v1 with an Ancient Deathstalker, or she was as she was now pinned by her cloak to the ground with an Ancient Nevermore feather, and the Deathstalker coming right for her.

I didn't have time to waste, or worry about anything. So without thinking, as if entered the clearing, where no doubt the other could see me, I formed a giant black glyph behind me, and sprung forward, and just as the Deathstalker thrust its stinger at Ruby, I skid to a halt in front of her and blocked it, with the two blades that protruded from my arms, causing a clang sound to resonate.

"Scythe?" Ruby questioned.

"I'll explain later." I said.

I stomped my foot on the ground, and a glyph appeared under the Deathstalker, sending it flying through the air, before it made impact with the Nevermore.

"Alright, I've only got one shot at this." I said, taking a knee, and slamming my fist into the ground.

Two glyphs formed, one under me, and one behind me, as a Pterodactyl Grimm materialized, twice the size of the Nevermore, and screeched. I stood up and thrust my fist forward, directing it to attack.

With its instructions clear, the Pterodactyl flew into the air and gripped the two Grimm in its claws, before squeezing them to death.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I retracted my blades, but before I could relax, Preflexes kicked in, and I had to pivot on the ball of my foot, to evade pillars of spiked ice that came rushing towards me, separating Ruby and me on either side of it.

"You."

I turned and growled as I looked at the Schnee Heiress, who looked annoyed at me.

"Something I can do for you Ice-Queen?" I asked, taking my water bottle off my hip, and taking a swig of the scotch.

"Weiss, what the hell is your problem? He just saved Ruby's life." Yang said coming up from behind the Schnee Heiress.

"You're the monster that escaped from Atlas Labs thirteen years ago." Weiss said, getting ready to lunge at me with her rapier.

"Now monster is a little mean to say don't you think, especially since you Schnee's are the cause of all troubles and force your Faunus employees to work for nothing more than peanuts." I sighed, putting my water bottle back on my hip. "Also, I didn't escape Atlas Labs. I escaped the hospital, because a man by the name of Arthur Watts, experimented on me, illegally I might add."

"It doesn't matter." Weiss said. "My father has put a bounty on your head, and if I take you in dead or alive, I will be able to show him I am strong enough to run both the SDC and be a Huntress."

"A bounty, is it because your mother donated part of her soul to me, to save the life of a dying Faunus child, who lost everything he had in a Grimm Attack that was supposed to be prevented by the SDC?" I asked, feeling the hairs on the back of my neck prickle in anger. "Let me ask you, do you know the extension of the procedure that was done to me in that Hospital in Atlas?"

"Doesn't matter. I'm still bringing you in either way. Whether it's in cuffs, or a body bag." Weiss said.

"That's rich." I chuckled. "How do you plan on bringing in someone, with six Semblances at his disposal?"

Weiss's only response was to come charging at me with her rapier poised and ready to strike. I took a single step back, and each time she thrust her rapier at me, I moved my head easily evading the strikes.

Eventually Weiss lost her momentum and we both landed on the ground, me with my hands in my pockets, and a smile on my face, while she glare at me, looking ready to strike again.

"That Semblance is called Preflexes. It allows me to sense when an attack, or anything else happens, before it actually does." I explained.

Weiss thrust her rapier at me, and I pivoted to the side, before I gripped the blade of her weapon.

"You idiot, all I gotta do is pull back swiftly, and you can say goodbye to your fingers." She said, attempting to pull her rapier back, but was unable to.

"Ooh, sorry Ice-Queen but that's not happening." I said, showing her that I had hardened my hand. "This semblance is my own, from my own soul. I call is Iron-Body. It makes my body harder than metal, and allows me to take on a lot of damage."

I released the rapier, and Weiss just starred wide eyed as the blade was bent and crooked from where I gripped it.

"Looks like you got some maintenance to do on it." I chuckled.

Weiss just shouted out in anger, and lunged at me. I had used up my time for Preflexes, so I had to go off normal instinct with this attack, I managed to move, but Weiss had learned from the last time, and moved her arm sideways, slicing the side of my face as well as the cloth keeping my shades in place.

I took a few steps back as I reeled from the attack.

"What the hell Weiss?" Yang shouted.

From the sound of her footsteps, I could tell that Yang and another girl had gotten between the two of us, and I was grateful for it.

"Move out of the way." Weiss hissed.

"No." The girl beside Yang, said firmly.

"You do realize you're both defending a wanted man." Weiss stated.

"He's only wanted by your father. That's what you said. You expressed that your father had sent out a warrant for him. Well guess what, last I checked, your father isn't any sort of government official, like General Ironwood, or any of the other council members." Yang said. "If you're wanting to get to him, you'll have to go through me."

"An' us to." A new hyperactive voice said from behind Weiss.

I looked up, making sure to keep my eyes hidden, and saw an orange haired girl, wielding a hammer, with a black haired boy with a pink stripe in the bangs, wearing a green gi shirt.

"We know what he's gone through. Nora and I both know." The boy said.

"He saved Ruby's life." Yang stated. "So I owe him more than your family could ever know."

"Yang, everyone." I said, keeping my eyes shut as I stood tall. I knew the acid burn scars stretching from one side of my face, all the way across my eyelids, and the bridge of my nose, to the other side, were visible to see, as well as the red veins below my eyes, but I didn't care. "I appreciate you all standing up for me. But it'll all be fine. If Ms. Schnee is insistent on killing me, then she'll have to explain that to Headmaster Ozpin." I explained pointing up.

I might not have been able to see them, but I knew they all looked up, following where I was pointing, to see the orb camera that had been tailing our group since I showed up.

"As I recall, trying to kill another student during initiation, or any time during the school year, is grounds for a month's detention doing it a second time, is grounds for expulsion." I said pulling my spare sunglasses out from my inside vest pocket, and putting them on, before picking up the damaged ones. "School hasn't yet officially started, and already the Ice-Queen, isn't the perfect student she thought she'd be."

I chuckled as I saw the look of discontent on Weiss's face, as she knew I was right. She just stood there, fuming with anger as I went to grab a relic, which were large chess pieces, and I grabbed one nobody had thought of grabbing, the Black King. I pocketed the piece, and smiled as I walked past Weiss, poking her forehead before making my way back to campus, with the others following me closely. Very faintly I could hear Weiss say one thing.

"I will stop at nothing to bring that monster down."

I sighed, as I knew with her on my tail, I'd be in for a long school year.
