Enjoy the chapter! Oh, and I don't own the Harry Potter franchise!
The remainder of the summer wasn't that bad for Harry despite how boring it was.
Ever since he came back, although things with the Dursleys weren't ideal, they were at least somewhat better. Dudley was too scared to be near him, so there was no more Harry-hunting. Uncle Vernon was also afraid to beat him or whack him with belts. And Aunt Petunia was making at least some effort to not yell at Harry.
Obviously this was an improvement, but Harry had quickly become bored. He did nothing but congregate in his room without anything to do. His spellbooks were kind of interesting, but they didn't do much for him when it was illegal to use magic outside the wizarding world.
The two things keeping him in a somewhat okay mood were the upcoming school year, and interestingly, potentially seeing Daphne again. For a brief while, Harry was wondering about whatever it was that Daphne had somehow "saw" while she was hugging him that day, but the thought wound up on the back burner after a couple of days of being back home.
Finally, after more than long enough, the big day came.
As Harry was finishing up packing, he took a look at his train ticket. He grew confused though as it said to get the train from Platform nine-and-three-quarters. Surely that was a mistake right? Though it couldn't be; Hagrid wouldn't pull a joke on him like that, would he?
A few hours later, Harry, driven by Uncle Vernon (and the other Dursleys also present), arrived at the train station.
"Well, here you are, boy," he said with something of a crazed smile as he haphazardly gave Harry his belongings. "There is platform nine, and platform ten. Your platform should be between here somewhere. Good luck finding it!"
Panic began to bubble up inside of Harry as Uncle Vernon began laughing and returning to his vehicle. Was he really about to just leave him here like this?
He did.
Vernon got back in his car and began to drive away, he and the others laughing raucously. Harry was now just left here, completely unsure what to do.
But unbeknownst to anyone, the whole thing was witnessed by a certain blonde-haired girl and her mother.
End of chapter!
