Chapter fifteen: City Siege, part three
Boris did not know what to make of his current situation. One moment, the orc was leading his platoon through a siege on the office building where his leader, the goblin Hirajo, said that the bastard Hatsuharu Shirayuki was holed up in. But before he knew it, Boris was thrown into one of the deserted meeting rooms in the office building. By the time he recovered from being thrown, Boris saw that the door leading into the meeting room, the only way in or out, had been closed and was now glowing with a magical aura.
If he were a guessing orc, then Boris would say that the door was being kept shut magically, and would not come un-shut until the caster of the magic either decided to lower it or was killed. The orc decided that the latter of those two options would be much more convenient for him, since he knew that such magic could not be maintained unless the caster was in the room that was being kept magically shut. So Boris began to look around the deserted meeting room, fulling intending to rip the head off of whatever grand wizard or archmage thought he or she was powerful enough to challenge a might orc such as himself.
Instead, all Boris spotted was a little girl dressed as a cutesy witch.
The orc saw that the little girl was glaring angrily at him (her expression looked more akin to pouting, though), and that the wand that she held in her right hand was glowing with magical power. Before Boris was able to speak a word, the little girl raised her wand hand up, holding her arm and wand out at length, with the head of the wand pointing right at Boris himself. After that, the little girl began to speak.
"You are Boris Warshield, are you not?" the little girl asked, demanding more than requesting politely.
Arching a confused and mildly annoyed eyebrow, the orc said, "Yes, I am. What do you-"
"Does the name Tamanori Sendo mean anything to you?" the little girl continued, interrupting Boris in the process and drawing an annoyed-looking scowl out of him. If there was one thing that the orc man did not like, it was little children not showing him the proper respect. Still, the little girl asked him about that name as if he should be very much familiar with it.
But familiar with it Boris was not. Stepping forward as he pointed an accusatory finger at the little girl, Boris sneered, "I have no damn fucking clue who that person is, little girl. Why should I be concerned with some no-name bastard that doesn't even matter in-"
Once more, Boris was cut off by the little girl but, rather than using words, the little girl let out an angry roar of fury as she waved her glowing wand around, conjuring a hail of washtubs that fell down hard onto Boris's person, causing notable damage and even giving his head a good banging. Although such an assault did hurt the orc, it was more annoying than outright painful. Charging through the hail of washtubs, Boris charged right at the little girl, figuring she would be less of an annoyance once he grabbed her head and ripped it clean off her neck.
Before Boris even got close, the little girl conjured a large puffing cloud of pinkish smoke which proceeded to fill the room, greatly obscuring Boris's vision. Coughing a bit as he waved a hand in front of his face to dissipate some of the pinkish smoke, the orc snarled, "Now see here, little girl. If you think that your little cantrips here can do anything to me, then you have another thing coming. When I find you, I'm going to-"
Tarot cards flew out from the smoke at a much greater speed than one could have given them credit for, colliding into Boris's person with such force that the edges of the cards sliced into his skin. Some even got stuck in his muscles. "Yeouch!" Boris exclaimed at the tarot cards poked and prodded into his body. He quickly brushed the cards off, as well as to try as get rid of the feeling that something was coiling around his body, even though he couldn't see any such thing.
The pinkish smoke began to fade more, allowing Boris to spot the little witch girl who was foolish enough to take on someone as powerful as himself. Deciding to take a more cautious approach with dealing with this young mage, the orc ran up to her, his right hand prepared to deal a chopping strike, and swung his hand out in an arc movement, colliding right into the little witch girl's neck.
Boris had struck the side of the little witch girl's neck with such force that he broke it, causing her head to fall limply over the top of Boris's hand. The orc, satisfied that he had eliminated this nuisance, withdrew his hand, allowing the little witch girl's dead body to fall to the floor of the meeting room. Indifferent to the kill he had just made, Boris turned around and proceeded to dust his hands off of this minor encounter. However, just before he could begin to walk away, the orc had noticed two things; one, the magical aura surrounding the door was still up for some reason.
Two, Boris sensed something getting up from the floor behind him.
Turning on his heels, Boris saw, to his mild unsettlement, the dead body of the little witch girl, her head hanging limply to her right side, slowly rising up from the floor. Once it had stood up, the little witch girl's body raised her wand arm and aimed it at Boris. Not wanting to deal with either magic or the undead, Boris curled his right hand into a fist and swung it down over the raised body, crushing most of it in a bloody, gory mess and making it go back down.
As Boris withdrew his bloodied fist, he hoped that the remains of the little witch girl would stay down this time. However, to his now growing horror, the little witch girl's right arm, still intact and still gripping the girl's ever-glowing wand, flew up and floated a meter or so above the rest of the remains, blood dripping from the end where the arm met the shoulder. The floating arm of the dead little witch girl raised the wand back before swinging it forward, striking Boris with an arcane blast so forceful that Boris was knocked back, forcing him to shut his eyes in the process.
…
When he next opened his eyes, Boris saw a few things. One, he was wrapped up in a long length of thick metal chain that glowed with magical power. Two, the glowing on the door was still in effect. But the third thing was most important, because Boris saw that the little witch girl, alive and fully intact, was standing a few feet away from him, her glowing wand hanging casually at her right side. The orc was now even more rattled, going wide-eyed in angered shock.
"How are you still fucking alive?!" Boris demanded, "What matter of sorcery did you use to restore both your body and your life?"
Giving the orc an almost dry look that still carried much of her anger, the little witch girl said, "I used no such magic, Boris. All I did was cast an illusion spell that made you see what I wanted you to see while my arcane chains wrapped you up and bound you." Giving Boris a self-amused smirk, the little witch girl asked, "Remember my cloud of pink smoke?"
The orc went wide-eyed as he realized that this, all of this, was all part of this little witch girl's plan to get him alone and at her mercy; throwing him into the room and magically sealing the door shut, using that cloud of pink smoke to generate a powerful illusion spell so she could wrap him in her glowing chain spell (which explained why he felt something was coiling around him even though he couldn't see it), and using the in-effect illusion magic to distract him while the chains did their work.
"Now then…" the little witch girl said as she took a step forward towards where the bound orc was struggling in vain to break free from his magic bindings, "…I'm going to ask this again." Her glare taking on a grim, serious and notably angry look, the little witch girl asked, "Does the name Tamanori Sendo mean anything to you, yes or no?"
"Fuck no!" Boris exclaimed angrily, "I don't even know who the fuck that guy is!" Snarling like an angry dog, Boris demanded, "Why does that no-name asshole mean anything to you?!"
There was a slight shift in the little witch girl's eyes; although they still held all that grimness, all that seriousness, all that anger, they were now being veiled by a curtain of eerie calmness. The glowing of the little witch girl's wand strengthened considerably, even going so far as to make Boris wince slightly, due to how bright it was.
"…My name is Yukari Sendo…" the little witch girl said as two of the conjured washtubs from earlier were surrounded in an aura similar to what was emanating from her wand. The washtubs then began to float up towards Boris's head, eventually pressing against the sides of his head. "…Tamanori was my father…" Yukari continued as she raised her wand up, her right arm going over her chest so that the glowing end of the wand pointed at the wall on Yukari's left side.
When she did this, it caused the washtubs pressed against the sides of Boris's head to tighten around his head, even going so far as to be bent and dented to better grip his head. As this was going on, the orc was slowly but surely going more and more wide-eyed with alarm and fear. Was his head going to be crushed like a grape between these two conjured washtubs, while he was helpless to try and get himself out of this mess? All became clear to Boris, however, when he saw Yukari's expression take on a very notable hint of enraged fury, right before she said the last thing Boris would ever hear.
"…And you killed him."
*CRACK*
With one swift motion, Yukari swung her right arm in an arc in front of her, the glowing end of her wand swinging around in front of her to now point at the wall on her right side. When the little witch girl did this, the two washtubs dented and molded around Boris's head forcefully jerked and turned, bringing Boris's head with them with such force that his neck was snapped, ending the once big and mighty orc forever.
After she snapped Boris's neck with her magic, Yukari can feel from the tuggings of her spells letting her know that the person she had bound was dead. After she released the magic, thus allowing Boris's corpse to fall to the floor of the meeting room like a puppet that had its strings cut, Yukari fell to one knee, the confrontation having taken more of a toll than she was counting on. She even threw up a bit, as this was the first time she had taken a life.
After her stomach had voided all of its contents onto the floor, Yukari shakily got up. Looking around the meeting room, Yukari regarded the large, long table. At the end of table was an armed office chair, fancier than the basic desk chairs seated around the table. Yukari could tell from this that the fancier chair at the one end was for the head of company, or whoever the highest ranking person using the meeting room at the time was.
Still a little shaky, the little witch girl walked to the fancier chair, pulled it out a bit, and sat down in it, leaning back somewhat as she looked up to the ceiling of the meeting room. Slowly, Yukari took deep breaths, the smell of her vomit-laced breath trickling up to her nose every so often. She knew that, given how shaken and tired she was, she would be of little to no use to her friends from this point in the attack going forward. All Yukari could do now was keep that door closed with her magic to keep other warmongers from getting in. Even so, Yukari felt that she had done well enough today. After all, the two orcs that had killed Yukari's father were both slain. One by the hands of Yukari's mother Fujiko, and the other, just now, by Yukari herself.
Yukari's father had been avenged.
While four of the heroes-in-training from U.A. High School were fighting the warmongers that came in from the front side of Azu-Daioh High, a few more of their number were fighting some warmongers that tried to break onto school grounds from the back side, which included the areas used during Azu-Daioh High's P.E. classes. One such warmonger, an ogre, was struck in the chest with a blasting beam of electicity so fierce that it actually pierced his chest, plowing out through his back and dropping him to the ground.
"Hot damn!" one of the heroes-in-training, a first-year boy, exclaimed in surprised amusement as he brushed the side of his nose with his right thumb, "Did anyone else see what I just did right now?!" This boy was fair-skinned, roughly the same height as some of his fellow students from U.A., and he had slightly medium-short length orange-blonde hair that had a black lightning bolt shaped pattern on the bangs going over his left eye.
He wore a black jacket that had some white lightning bolt patterns on it and was open in the front, revealing a white t-shirt worn underneath, a pair of pants that matched the jacket, a belt that held up his pants, some manner of circular-shaped mechanism on a wristband on his right wrist, and a headset with a blue-colored visor that covered his eyes. This boy was also crackling with sparks of electicity, similar to what pierced the ogre's chest cavity.
Pumping a fist into the air, the electric teen cheered, "Come on, people! You have to admit that was awesome!"
"What was with the name you gave that attack, Kaminari?" a female, somewhat frog-like (if you can call it that) voice called out, getting the electric teen to turn and face someone crouched, like a frog, on the body of a knocked-out troll. It was a girl who, judging by the fact that she knew the electric teen's name given that she referred to him as Kaminari, must have had some degree of familiarity with him.
She was a somewhat short (more difficult to tell due to her frog-like crouching) fair-skinned girl with very long dark green hair that was tied at the end in a bow-like tie. She wore a bright green bodysuit that had black leggings, a somewhat large pair of tannish-colored gloved that had belt buckles on the tops of her wrists, two belts similarly colored to the gloves (with one belt going over the top of her breasts), and green webbed flippers, which resembled frogs feet, on her feet. She wore a tannish-colored headband, with goggles that had green lenses, on her head.
Pointing to the frog-like girl, Kaminari said, "I was just trying out the 'Kaminari Beam', Tsuyu. It's kind of like the Kamehameha, except I replace the syllables of 'ka-me-ha-me-ha' with those in 'Ka-mi-na-ri-beam', and I use electricity instead of chi." Giving the frog-like girl, apparently called Tsuyu, a self-amused look, Kaminari asked, "What do you think?"
Holding a finger in front of her mouth in a sort-of physical tic like manner, Tsuyu replied in a hard to read tone, "There are worse names that you could have come up with kero."
As Kaminari merely chuckled a bit at Tsuyu's dry response, the two of them heard one of the warmongers that was attacking Azu-Daioh High cry out in a freaked out tone. Looking over, both Kaminari and Tsuyu saw a troll floating straight up into the air. Following the reverse path the floating troll must have taken, the two U.A. students saw that one of their classmates, a girl, was looking right up at the troll as he floated up into the air.
This girl was fair-skinned, had light brownish shoulder length hair in a bob style cut, and she wore a black bodysuit with a single, wide pink stripe going down the middle from her neck. She also wore pink, bulbous wrist guards, similar boots that reached her knees, and a two-piece belt around her waist. There were also pink patches on the shoulders of the girl's bodysuit. This girl looked up at the floating troll, then when he was close to one-hundred feet in the air, the girl held the fingerprints of her fingers together while simply saying, "Release."
The floating troll then shot straight down, the angle of his landing resulting in his neck snapping so bad that he died instantly. After the troll had suffered that fatal fall, both Kaminari and Tsuyu looked to the brown-haired girl. "Damn, Uraraka!" Kaminari exclaimed, laughing a little bit in amusement, "That was one hell of a move you just pulled!"
Panting a little bit out of exhaustion, the brown-haired girl, apparently named Uraraka, replied in a mildly guilty-sounding tone, "But it still doesn't change the fact that I just took a life."
"Kaminari here pierced the chest cavity of one of these evil monsters just now with a high-powered blast of lightning," Tsuyu pointed out to her fellow U.A. student.
"And Aizawa-sensei told us that those monster government people that are worried about the attack on this city said that they have no problem with us using fatal force on these large hulking monster dudes," Kaminari added.
Gently shaking her head, Uraraka said, "But I still took a life." With a guilty expression, Uraraka said, "I just…I just can't help but wonder what…what he would think about it…"
…
"DETROIT SMASH!" Izuku exclaimed as he punched an orc square in the jaw with an uppercut so fierce that it actually smashed his (the orc's) face in, knocking the orc over onto the ground where he laid very still. The fighting at Azu-Daioh High's front gate was still going on, and Izuku, along with his classmates Bakugo, Todoroki and Kirishima, were fighting all of the warmongers as the spilled in.
Looking over at where Izuku was standing over the orc he had just taken down, Bakugo let out a bark of amused laughter. "Well fucking A, Deku! It looks like you just killed that one!"
"I…I still don't quite feel at ease with the idea of killing all of these guys," Izuku remarked in a concerned tone, "Even though they are monsters."
"They're a paramilitary group bent on wiping out the rest of their world, then going on to do the same to humans," Todoroki pointed out in casual calmness as he froze an ogre in a large solid hunk of ice, "Their world's government is short-handed in dealing with them, so that's why said government's leaders came to request aid from us humans." Straightening himself out a bit, Todoroki continued, "Although I still have no way of knowing why, when the monster world's government came to U.A., all of the school's staff agreed to send as many of us as possible to help quell the paramilitary monster group."
"I think that Higari-sensei said something about the monster world's government putting a bounty on some guy named Hirajo?" Kirishima said, sounding like he was trying to remember details that were somewhat fuzzy to him. Kirishima said that as an orc was punching him in the back, quickly and repeatedly, but making no progress. In fact, Kirishima looked like he wasn't even aware that he was being punched in the back by that orc. But then again, the red-haired boy had his body-hardening power active, so that probably helped.
Izuku, with a mildly curious look on his face, pointed to the orc standing behind Kirishima while saying to his fellow classmate, "Umm, Kirishima…"
Curious, the red-haired boy turned around and saw the orc trying to punch him, but doing so to no avail. "Oh, that," Kirishima remarked in an almost bored tone as he pulled his right fist back and threw it right at the orc's face, striking the warmonger with a devastating punch that sent him flying back. After the orc crashed into the wall surrounding the front area of Azu-Daioh High, it was clear that he had been knocked out cold. Turning back around to face his fellow classmates, Kirishima asked as he jerked a thumb over his shoulder to the knocked-out orc, "What do you guys think of that move just now, huh?"
Smirking a bit, Bakugo said, "I think that I am really going to enjoy today."
Pretty much the instant Ginei, Haiji and Fangfang reached the top floor of the Shirayuki Offices building, they heard a loud, horrific roaring scream that sounded like it came straight out of the writings of Lovecraftian horror. Immediately after, the three boys saw their friend Draco, in his humanoid form that had draconic aspects, leap out of a large hole that was made in one of the big, floor-to-ceiling windows that acted as walls for the top floor.
"What the hell was that just now?!" Ginei said as he and his friends proceeded to engage what few remaining warmongers were on the top floor; judging by how many clearly dead bodies laid around, Draco must have been keeping himself busy until he jumped/flew out that big hole in the window. The werewolf dealt a few swift punched to the chest of a troll, even throwing in an elbow jab or two, before ending with an uppercut to the troll's chin that sent said troll spinning up before landing on the floor with a loud and heavy thud.
"No clue, dude," Haiji called out as he punched the air in front of him, creating a shockwave that struck and knocked out an orc. Turning to face his friend, the Crow Tengu continued in a mildly worried tone, "I just hope that it-" Haiji was cut off when the loud roar he, Ginei and Fangfang all heard a few brief moments ago called out again, only this time it sounded like it was in great pain, also the pained roar was accompanied by the sounds of a blasting inferno.
The three boys, as well as what warmongers on that floor that weren't dead or knocked out, all looked around in confusion. A few moments later, Draco, in his aforementioned form, flew back into the top floor through that hole in the window, rushing past a few warmongers that he killed as he passed them. When Draco came to a screeching stop, he looked up from his crouching position and saw that Ginei, Haiji and Fangfang were all looking at him. "…When did you guys get here?" the dragon asked, sounding nothing but honestly curious.
"Draco, what was that loud screeching the boys and I heard just now?" Haiji asked as the fighting on the top floor resumed.
After raking his draconic claws across the forehead of an orc, rending gashes that sliced through the skull and cut into the brain, Draco remarked as he struck an ogre with a tail slam, "The thing you're asking about was some sort of gigantic abomination that, if I had to guess, was conjured by the use of a monster world relic called the Amulet of Alucard."
"Oh, I heard about that, actually," Fangfang remarked, "My father told me that it was in the personal collection of a fellow he was friends with, named Issa Shuzen." With a mildly somber look on his face as he knocked out another troll, Fangfang continued, "My father told me and Lingling that his friend Issa was recently killed, though."
Nodding in grim agreement, Draco said while snapping the neck of an ogre with his tail, "Aye, Fangfang. Issa and his wife, along with some of their servant staff, were killed when their manor was ransacked by a large group of warmongers from Hirajo's war band. I was sent by my father to do some recon on the area to try and figure out why Hirajo would have some of his men attack Shuzen manor after the attack."
With another slight hint of grimness entering his expression, the dragon continued, "From what I just came back from doing, I'd have to guess that Hirajo was after the Amulet of Alucard, with the intent to use it during the ongoing attack on this city. Also, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that our friends Moka and Kokoa would both be very interested in Hirajo's attack on Shuzen manor, especially given that I found a family photo in the ruins of Shuzen manor, with said photo showing Moka and Kokoa with Issa, his wife and those two vampire girls from that Fairy Tale group."
"Wait a minute," Fangfang said in a mildly surprised tone, "Moka and her little sister belong to the family of my father's late friend Issa?"
"How do you know that Moka's older sisters belonged to Fairy Tale?" Haiji asked in a somewhat not-in-danger tone; by this point, all of the fighting on the top floor of Shirayuki Offices had been concluded, and the boys from Yokai Academy were victorious. Gesturing to Draco, Haiji continued, "Did you find out about how Hirajo's war band wiped out Fairy Tale, since your race were keeping tabs on them?"
Turning to regard the Crow Tengu boy, Draco replied, "…Actually, my people didn't learn about Hirajo and his war band until sometime shortly before my brothers and I fought alongside the snow fairies and mages of the Yuki-Onna village in order to repel a large force from the war band." With Ginei, Haiji and Fangfang all looking at him, Draco began to explain, "Originally, my people the dragons were simply looking into the matter that was Fairy Tale, since if they had their way then just as many people, monster and human alike, would suffer if Hirajo and his men had their way. In fact, I'd say that Fairy Tale would have caused more damage since they were aiming more for wiping others out, whereas Hirajo and his war band would be satisfied with the idea of subjugating peoples who surrender to them."
Folding his arms over his chest, Ginei said with a grim nod of agreement, "Yeah, all of that does sound accurate. Both for Fairy Tale and Hirajo's war band." With a curious eyebrow arched, the werewolf asked, "So your people were looking into Fairy Tale. Were you aiming to take them out before Hirajo's war band beat you guys to the punch?"
Gently shaking his head, Draco said, "Hirajo and his men did not 'beat us to the punch', as you put it, Ginei." Looking at his three friends, Draco said, "Despite what the monster world's government believes, it wasn't Hirajo and his men who wiped out the entirety of Fairy Tale, but rather my people and I." Holding a hand over his chest, the dragon said, "It was us, the dragons, who wiped out Fairy Tale."
"The dragons wiped out…" Ginei said, a look of shocked surprise on his face, as well as the faces of both Haiji and Fangfang. Slowly, the look of shocked surprise on the boys' faces faded, being replaced with calm understanding. In fact, Ginei even smirked a bit. "…Given what those Fairy Tale bastards were up to," Ginei remarked, "I would like to think that the dragons did the rest of the monster world a very considerable favor." Ginei's remark drew nods of agreement out of both Haiji and Fangfang.
"I still have a question, though," Haiji said as he turned to face Draco more directly, "How did you recognize both of Moka's older sisters from that family photo you found in the ruins of their family's manor?"
Arching a casual eyebrow as he looked at the Crow Tengu, Draco replied, "Because I was the one who killed both of those girls." The dragon's casual confession drew surprised looks out of all three of the boys. "Oh, come on," Draco remarked, his tone sounding mildly annoyed at the shocked expressions he was receiving, "Those Akua and Kahlua girls were strong members of Fairy Tale. Not only that, but they charged at me."
"Still…" Ginei remarked, his tone sounding a mix of mildly sad and resigned, "…Moka and Kokoa will both be rather upset with you because, regardless of what their older sisters were a part of, they were still their older sisters." Giving Draco a mildly questioning look, Ginei asked, "Will you at the very least consider apologizing to Moka and Kokoa after all of this business about Hirajo's attack on the city is dealt with? Because we're going to have to have a sit down with the girls and tell them about this, since their family was involved and all."
Letting off a mildly indifferent sigh, Draco replied, "Given the situation, I suppose that some manner of recompense or apology is owed to Moka and Kokoa." Folding his arms over his chest, Draco continued, "But we'll have to wait until later for that. For the time being, we've got to try and stop as many of Hirajo's men as we can."
Looking around the top floor, Fangfang remarked, "I think there's nothing left in here for us to do." Turning to face his friends, Fangfang asked, "You all think we should go back down to the previous floors to finish up there?"
"Mr. Shirayuki's office on this floor is over there," Draco said as he pointed in the appropriate direction, "Hirajo and his men will undoubtedly try to make him a target. And since Tsukune and Mizore should be with him since they came here to try and find him, we ought to meet up with them as well."
"Right," Haiji nodded in agreement as he, along with Draco, Ginei and Fangfang, all ran in the direction of Hatsuharu's office on the top floor.
"DAMN YOU!" Hirajo screamed angrily, defiantly, as he threw fireball after fireball at the two snow fairies before him. Although both Tsukune and Hatsuharu were able to dodge, block and parry most of the fireballs, both of them did take a hit or two each, with Tsukune getting struck in his stomach and Hatsuharu having a fireball clip against his right shoulder. Throwing out more fireballs in a flurry attack, the goblin man yelled, "JUST ROLL OVER AND DIE ALREADY!"
Conjuring another fireball in his right hand, Hirajo reached his right arm back as he prepared to throw the fireball, clearly aiming at Hatsuharu. However, an icicle flew out and stuck into Hirajo's right shoulder, making the goblin man lose focus and causing his conjured fireball to fizzle out. "Who dares-?" Hirajo snarled as he yanked the icicle out, looking over and seeing Mizore, who stood behind her father's desk, aiming her right hand at Hirajo. The cool, icy mist that was emanating from her hand was a telltale sign that it was Mizore who conjured the icicle that struck the goblin man.
His face a visage of enraged fury, Hirajo screamed, "YOU DAMN BRAT!" Quickly, Hirajo conjured another fireball and, before Tsukune or Hatsuharu could even anticipate, quickly threw it right at Mizore. The snow fairy girl, what little bravado she had being burnt up in her defiant attack on Hirajo, went wide-eyed with fear as the fiery projectile spell flew right at her. Out of the fear that had overcome her, Mizore could only cover her face with her forearms as she cried out in fright.
"AAARRRRRRGGGHH!" Surprised to hear what sounded like a pained exclamation from Tsukune, Mizore lowered her arms and saw, to her horrified shock, that Tsukune stood facing her, his arms held out at length at his sides. Smoke was trailing up from some spot on the Aono boy's back. Tsukune's eyes were winced closed, but he popped one open to see Mizore. Seeing that she was unharmed, the human-turned-snow fairy smiled a bit out of relief, before he turned his head to the side to send a glare at Hirajo.
A glare of anger.
Smirking defiantly at the snow fairy boy who was glaring at him, Hirajo said, "About damn time I scored a serious hit on one of you snow fairy bastards. Although to be honest, I'd have to say that burn mark on your back would have looked better on that girl from the Shirayuki family."
"How…" Tsukune snarled at Hirajo, sending a blasting, forceful icy-cold wind laden with snow right at the goblin man, sending him reeling back a bit until his back slammed into the door leading into the main area of the top floor. As Hirajo stood there, his back against the door, the Aono boy turned to face him properly.
"…Dare…" Tsukune continued as he walked, in a somewhat menacing manner, towards the chilled goblin. Holding his right hand out at length at his side, Tsukune conjured large ice claws, encapsulating his right hand and part of his forearm. When Hirajo stopped leaning his back against the door, Tsukune actually charged right at him, his iced hand pulled back in preparation to strike out at Hirajo.
"…YOU!" Tsukune yelled as he swung his iced hand forward, sending his ice claws right at Hirajo, the very monster who led the war band that had caused so much pain for others as of late, the very cruel goblin who had designs to lay siege to not just the monster world, but also to carry out an attack the human world, where Tsukune had been born and raised.
The very man who had just tried to hurt some the Aono boy held very dear to his heart.
Tsukune's ice claws pierced Hirajo's gut, chest and throat, going in so deep that they ended up piercing the door behind Hirajo as well. Slick blood oozed out from the fatally wounded goblin warlord, freezing up as it spilled out onto Tsukune's ice claws. Tsukune would have continued to glare furiously at the vanquished goblin man, but he was brought back to reality when, a couple of brief moments after his ice claws pierced the door behind Hirajo, he heard Ginei's voice call out from the other side of the door, "Holy shit! The hell was that just now?!"
Yanking his ice claws out, allowing Hirajo's remains to fall unceremoniously to the floor of Hatsuharu's office, Tsukune walked up to the door as his ice claws dissipated. Opening the door, the Aono boy saw his friends Ginei, Haiji, Fangfang and Draco all standing there. Gesturing to Tsukune, Ginei asked, "Hey man, was that you just now who shredded the door just now? Also, why is there blood in the door holes?"
Giving his friends a tired yet mildly amused-looking smirk, Tsukune said, "Guys…there is a lot that we have to go over."
The warmongers continued to fight on for another hour or so despite Hirajo having been slain, but that was mostly because they didn't know their warlord had been vanquished. Despite the fact that all of them were of monster races that lived and were practically bred for war, they did not last too much longer after the unceremonious killing of Hirajo.
Most of them ended up being killed themselves, either by monster citizens living in the city that the war band attacked, the various hero humans that were deployed to the area to combat all of the warmongers, or, in some select few cases, by ordinary humans. When what little of the war band that was not killed was rounded up by monster world government, rumors were starting to go around that Number Two, one of the actresses on the new hit show Saga Stories, had killed an ogre by using vehicular manslaughter as she and her co-actress Number One were driving some civilians to a safe location to wait out the attack.
Despite the fact that Hirajo and his war band were ultimately defeated, not all was well. There were a fair few casualties for those who fought against the warmongers; it was mostly civilians, both humans and monsters, although reports started going around that a few (four at most) of the less famous pro-heroes that fought against the warmongers were also killed. Thankfully, none of the heroes-in-training from U.A. were among the fallen; that would be a tragedy, as those heroes were roughly the same age as most of the students from Azu-Daioh High School, one of the main locations that was attacked by the warmongers.
Despite the fact that some of those who had fought against Hirajo's forces were vanquished in the attack, the spirits of those who lived through that most horrific battle were…relatively high, to be honest. After all, Hirajo's war band was defeated and broken, and the goblin man himself had been slain by the very people he and his men were aiming to kill. The citizenry of the city that was attacked, with some help from pro-heroes and a few heroes-in-training, had won the day; sure, they would mourn the fallen, but they still felt like celebrating.
"Hey Gaku, Ryota," Yomi said to the boys in question at a party over at Azu-Daioh High, a party that was being thrown to celebrate having defeated Hirajo and his war band. Turning around to face Yomi, Gaku and Ryota saw that she was accompanied by her friends Sakaki, Kagura, Chiyo and Osaka. Gesturing to the two boys, the bespectacled girl asked, "I don't suppose that either of you have seen Tomo, have you?"
"Oh, you mean that girl that was not-so-subtly implying that she wanted to get into Satoshi's pants?" Ryota asked, "Yeah, she dragged Satoshi off somewhere so she could get into his pants."
Yomi, Sakaki and Kagura all had looks of stunned shock, mixed with a hint of mild disgust. Neither Osaka nor Chiyo had those looks; the look on Osaka's face showed she had no idea what Ryota was talking about, and Chiyo's expression was more or less the same as Osaka's, but with the implication that her being a child (Chiyo is about the same age as Yukari Sendo) is the reason why Ryota's explanation was lost on her. Indeed, the youngest girl of that group of five turned to regard her older friends.
"What does he mean when he says that Tomo wants to get into Satoshi's pants?" Chiyo asked her friends that were teenagers, the innocence in her tone making it clear she was just curious.
"Yeah, I'm confused as well," Osaka remarked as she turned to regard Yomi, Sakaki and Kagura, "Why would Tomo want to wear a boy's pants? Wouldn't she prefer to wear the skirt that's part of her school uniform?"
"We'll…tell you when you're older, Chiyo," Kagura remarked, looks of mild embarrassment on her face as well as the faces of Yomi and Sakaki. Turning to face Osaka, Kagura continued, "And as for you, Osaka, the other girls here and I ought to explain a few things to you that you should have known by now."
…
Sometime later, Gaku and Ryota, after having collected a now VERY satisfied Satoshi, located most of the rest of the boys of Azu-Daioh High's newspaper club; only Tsukune was absent. Seeing that their friend from their middle school days was missing, Ryota, Gaku and Satoshi all asked where the Aono boy had gone off to.
"Oh, that," Ginei explained with a shrug of his shoulders, "Well, given that schools all over the city decided to cancel classes today due to the attack that was launched by Hirajo's war band, our good pal Tsukune decided that it was best to just take the rest of the day off." Folding his arms over his chest, the werewolf remarked, "Given what Tsukune had to personally go through over the course of the battle, I think that he's entitled to some R&R."
Noticing the look of euphoria in Satoshi's eyes, Haiji remarked, "Yo, Satoshi. You look like you just had the most awesome time ever." With a huff that sounded mildly self-amused, Satoshi went up to Haiji and whispered something into his left ear. After hearing the whisper, Haiji went wide-eyed in surprise. "Well hot damn, Satoshi!" Haiji practically exclaimed as he held a hand with the palm facing his human friend, "High five!"
"Okay, I am curious," Fangfang said as he looked at the Crow Tengu, "What did Satoshi do that deserves such a frat boy-like response?"
Jerking a thumb at Satoshi, Haiji explained, "Oh, Satoshi just told me that he and Tomo just did what Tsukune and-"
"Hey boys!" the voice of Kurumu called out, cutting Haiji off and making him and the other boys turn to see Kurumu, as well as all of the other Azu-Daioh High newspaper club girls come walking up to them. Giving the boys a somewhat demanding look, the succubus said, "The girls and I want to know where Tsukune is."
Nodding in agreement with Kurumu, Ruby explained, "The girls here and I figured that since Hirajo and his war band have been defeated, it would be appropriate to have a little party to celebrate. Also, we're trying to locate Mizore as well, as we can't really have the party without all of us present."
"Oh, I saw Tsukune head over to his place," Haiji explained, "Mizore also went with him, but given what the both of them had to go through since they were right there when Hira-"
"Oh, that snow cone girl did not just take Tsukune off to have to herself!" Kurumu swore as she clenched an angry fist, cutting Haiji off in the process. Turning to face the other girls, Kurumu said, "Come on, girls! I know where Tsukune's house is! Let's head over before Mizore steals Tsukune's first kiss before I have a chance to get it!"
"Like hell Tsukune's first kiss will be you," Lingling said as she and the girls proceeded to turn around and head to the Aono residence, "Because that honor will go to me!"
"No, Moka and I will get Tsukune's first kiss together!" Yukari declared.
"Will you stop that, Yukari?!" Moka said loudly in an embarrassed tone, with that being the last thing that the boys heard before the girls were out of sight and earshot.
After the girls were gone, the boys all turned to face each other, with Fangfang gently shaking his head. "…Oh, those girls are going to be sorely disappointed when they learn what's really going on," the yasha remarked with a pitying shrug.
Looking at Fangfang with a curious expression, Satoshi asked, "What…what do you mean by that, dude? Why are the girls going to be disappointed?"
Smirking a bit, Fangfang said, "Let's…just say that you aren't the only one who will be lucky today, Satoshi."
The newspaper club girls all arrived at the Aono residence, nearly stampeding into the house before Moka and Kokoa reminded the other girls that it would be the height of rudeness to just up and let themselves in. With the other girls momentarily stopped, the vampire sisters turned to face the front door, with Moka being the one to knock. After a few seconds, Tsukune's older cousin Kyoko answered the door.
Kurumu was about to (loudly) demand to know where Tsukune and Mizore were, but Moka stopped her upon seeing the look of embarrassed confusion on Kyoko's face. "Umm, is there something wrong, Kyoko?" the pink-haired vampire girl asked, sounding mildly worried.
"Umm, this is really embarrassing," the older human girl began, "Here's the thing. Tsukune came home from school early because of the big monster attack that was foiled earlier. Seeing the look on his face, I could tell that he needed some time to rest and recover from whatever it was that he had gone through. He just went right up to his bedroom and closed the door."
Gesturing to Kyoko, Moka said, "Go on."
"A few minutes after Tsukune went into his room and closed the door," Kyoko continued, "I heard what sounded like Tsukune opening his window. I decided that he just wanted some air, until I heard what sounded like Tsukune climbing out of his window. Again, I made nothing of it, given that Uncle Koji is going to make his quote unquote 'famous' shriploaf for dinner tonight, and I can't blame Tsukune for trying to get as far away from the house as possible."
Gently shaking her head, the older human girl went on, "But a few seconds after that, I heard what sounded like Tsukune jumping up and down on his bed. Upon hearing those noises, I went up to investigate." The embarrassed blushing on her face becoming even more prominent, Kyoko said, "When I opened Tsukune's door to see what was going on, I walked in on that ice girl that he's friends with…with…" Hanging her head a bit as she covered the upper half of her face with her hands, Kyoko cried out, "She was making my little cousin into a man!"
The newspaper club girls all looked surprised, but Kurumu's reaction was the most notable. She fell to her knees, looked up towards the ceiling and held up clenched hands as she cried towards the heavens, "NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
END, CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Author's notes:
Aaaaaaannnnnd…there we go. Sure, it took things a little while to get going, but ultimately this story got to the point where Tsukune is now solidified in a pairing with Mizore, who was the girl that I had in mind for him since chapter one. Other than that, I was able to tie up a few other loose ends, such as resolving the matter that was Hirajo, as well as tying up the issue of Yukari's dad having been killed a while ago.
Sure, there are still a few other things that have to be addressed, mainly Moka and Kokoa learning who is really responsible for the deaths of Akua and Kahlua, but now that the main conflict that I had planned for this story as a whole has been resolved, issues such as that can be addressed at leisure. Yes, this story still has quite a bit of steam left in it, so don't go thinking that things are going to be ending here.
Because they won't.
