Welcome back everyone! I'm here to write stories and eat cake! FYI I'm all out of cake. Just had to get that out of the way before we began. Anywho, let's answer some reviews:
Aztec 13: First off I want to point out that they're not Oni. They're still Japanese mind you, but they're a different kind of being. Second, if you watch Xiaolin Chronicles, you'll know who one of the students is.
BlueEyeCat:
1) I didn't even know that was a thing! That makes it so much better!
2) It's not her mindscape. They went into a place called the Shadow Realm: the actual place where the Shadowkhan come from in Jackie Chan Adventures canon. There's just so little known about it that I decided to take some creative liberties. Jade's mind is still safe and sound.
Guest-Questioner:
1) Morningstar probably won't become Darkstar for a while. It might not even happen in this story.
2) It was actually my goal to make the season 4 a little more connected in my story, so I'm glad to know I'm off to a good start.
3)I have heard of Kingdom Hearts. I've played many of the games myself. The doorway thing is a neat idea and I will think on it.
4) Now you've got me thinking again with that! Way to keep an author on his toes!
Now that I've answered your questions and reviews, let's get into the nitty gritty and start this chapter! I don't own Jackie Chan Adventures, Ben 10, or any other series that may pop up in my stories. Any OC characters, ideas, objects and/or places do belong to me unless stated otherwise.
Uncle's Rare Finds, San Francisco
Jade tapped her foot as she looked around the room. There were many things she had gained throughout these many years. Awesome ninja skills, ghost powers, an army and even a kick butt crush just to name a few. One thing that never really stuck with her, however, is patience. The girl groaned as she plopped back in her chair.
"What's taking him so long!?" asked the girl in her frustration. "Tohru left to get food an hour ago! If he doesn't get back soon I might die of starvation!" Jackie shook his head with a smile as he continued to sweep the floor behind her.
"You will not starve to death Jade." chuckled the martial artist. "Patience is a virtue. It can help in the most miniscule of tasks and even the most dangerous situations." The girl peered over the furniture back at him.
"You bought more of those fortune cookies didn't you?" Uncle walked over with a bowl in one hand and chopsticks in another. He smiled as he picked up a mung bean.
"You could always have some of Uncle's mung beans." offered the old man. Jade chuckled with a nervous look on her face as she waved her hands in the air.
"No offense Uncle but last time I tried one it didn't exactly agree with me. Thanks anyway." The old man nodded as he ate the bean. "I just wish he'd get here on time! What if something happened to him?"
"Now you're just being paranoid Jade." argued Jackie. "It's not like he's been attacked by ninjas." The other Chans looked to him with deadpanned looks.
"This coming from the guy who fights shadow ninjas that can pop up anywhere at any time? Don't jinx it Jackie!" The researcher chuckled as he shrugged. So maybe he didn't think that sentence through, but he still had a point.
Rust Bucket
Ben munched on a burrito as he looked around. Him and Gwen were recently at an odd farmers market with their grandfather so he could pick up some ingredients for one of his... interesting meals. It wasn't really their forte, but in the end they'd do it again in a heartbeat. While plumber base is nice and all, nothing beats riding through the streets with Grandpa Max like the old days. Besides, there was a neat burrito place nearby that served items made with ingredients at the market and Ben was actually enjoying the strange little thing.
He looked outside while chewing down on his food. He'd practically gotten so used to San Fran that it became like a second home to him. He knew the street like the back of his human hand. He soon spotted a familiar face as he gulped down his most recent bite.
"Hey it's Tohru!" shouted Ben as he spotted the friendly Japanese giant. Gwen walked back from her seat beside Grandpa to get a look as well. He looked like he was carrying food back to the shop as he had two brown paper bags in hand. The boy looked into the rear view mirror to meet his grandfather's eyes. "Think we can give him a ride Grandpa?"
"I don't see why not." agreed the elder Tennyson. He turned down the street as he approached the large man. Tohru came to a stop as the Rustbucket parked beside him. "Need a lift?" The large man smiled as he stepped into the vehicle.
"Thank you." replied Tohru. There was a slight rocking as he tried to get back to one of the more open seats. He sat down, but even then he felt squished in the chair. Ben smiled as he turned to the big man.
"Sup T?" Tohru smiled at the nickname the young Tennyson and Jade called him by.
"I was just on a dinner run for the others." stated the giant. He fished out some fortune cookies and displayed them to the duo. "Would you like a fortune cookie?" Both kids took one as they pulled out the paper. Gwen chuckled as she read hers.
"These are so cliche." laughed the girl as she read over hers. "The power within is often underestimated? I mean come on, that's obviously a rip off of 'true power lies within.'" Ben, on the other hand, turned the paper a bit as he read his.
"I can't make heads or tales of this one." admitted Ben. "Time is a fickle thing. What you seek seeketh you as well?" Gwen cocked her head as she looked over his paper.
"Okay... so the people who make these like to be inconspicuous and cliche." Tohru looked out the window as he got a hunch, not exactly knowing if it was good or bad. Max parked the Rust Bucket before looking back to his passengers.
"Next stop, Uncle's Rare Finds." declared Max. Tohru smiled as he said his goodbyes. He got off of the vehicle, causing it gto sway once more. The tennysons drove off as Gwen and Ben marveled over the latter's fortune. It definitely wasn't like the normal ones.
"I just don't get it." groaned Ben. "What's even with this first one? 'Time is a fickle thing?'" Gwen looked the paper over as she pondered over it's meaning. Max looked into the rearview mirror to respond, only to suddenly slam his breaks soon after.
"Kids!" The duo looked back to see Tohru holding a small man up in the air. They hopped out of the vehicle, ready to do battle with the small men. Before Ben could even pick an alien, however, Uncle ran out flailing his arms.
"TOHRU!" cried the chi wizard. "Put him down! He is a holy man!" The kids looked to each other in confusion as Tohru looked up at his robed opponent. The big guy chuckled nervously as he put the man down.
"Uh... welcome to Uncle's Rare Finds." greeted the giant. Jade ran out to greet Ben upon sight of him. Max looked over his list of goods with a sad smile. Looks like he would have to wait on his groceries just a little while longer.
The group soon found themselves inside the shop as Uncle prepared tea for the monks. Jackie and Jade were quick to grab their food after thanking Tohru. The Tennysons sat nearby as they looked over the group. Gwen heard a crunching sound as she looked to find Ben eating yet another of one of the burritos. She scrunched her nose in disgust.
"How can you eat those things?" asked the redhead. "Do you even know what part of the chicken they put in that thing?" The boy just shrugged as he looked inside his meal.
"Apparently a really good part of it." answered the alien hero. "I'm surprised that I actually grabbed a second one. All in all I'm satisfied." Max smiled as he looked to the monks.
'Note to self, make more food with chicken.' thought the elderly man as he stored the useful information. Uncle brought the tray with tea over to the monks with a sincere smile.
"Please forgive the brutish behavior of my apprentice." pleaded Uncle as he passed out the tea. The monks graciously accepted the beverages as Uncle made his way towards Tohru. The man was about to take a bite of his own order when the old chi wizard snatched it from him. He grumbled as he quickly began to sip at his drink.
Uncle presented the food to the monks. "He offers his meal as an apology." Ben rolled his eyes with a frown. To their surprise the monks raised their hands in denial.
"Oh no!" rejected the lead monk. "We could never eat his food." Uncle tilted his head in response.
"You do not like mushu?" Ben was also curious about their choice. Were they vegans or something? Maybe mushu had some kind of meat in it. The lead monk held his hands together as he looked up.
"We monks of the Ben Shui order have followed signs and omens to this place in search of the chosen one." Gwen looked to the trio, not liking where this is going. Jade looked up from her food as she looked to the monks.
"Haven't seen anyone like that." stated the girl. "Maybe you should try Uncle's temple." With the speed of wind the monks took the noodles from Jade and Jackie. "Hey!" They got on one knee as they presented the food to Tohru.
"Accept our offerings, oh Chosen One." Tohru looked over the monks for a few seconds before spewing his drink. The whole group looked to the scene in surprise. Jackie stood up as he looked to the Ben Shui members.
"Tohru can't be the chosen one." argued the martial artist. "He's our Tohru." Jade nodded as she stood up in her chair.
"Yeah, plus he hasn't pulled off any kind of the feats someone like that would have." added Jade from her knowledge of movie culture. The lead monk gestures to Tohru with a smile.
"The Chosen One has lived a thousand life times." explained the Ben Shui monk. "When the Chosen One's body has run its course, his life energy- his chi- returns in a new vestle." Gwen drops her fist into her palm in understanding.
"Like the ancient concept of reincarnation." declared the girl. "Many civilizations chose the approach of many lifetimes when tackling the afterlife." The monk nodded in response as Uncle approached Tohru.
"Why did you not tell me you were a leader of holy men?" asked Uncle. Tohru shook his head in denial.
"I... I did not know." denied the big man. Gwen shook her head in response.
"Of course he wouldn't know." explained Gwen once more. "If it's like the various mythologies state, very few people would ever remember their past lives for even one life." Ben sighed as he looked away. This all sounded like a bunch of crap to him. The monk began to pull Tohru towards the front of the shop with great effort.
"Come." gestured the monk. "We must journey to our temple in Bhutan, where the High Mystic will awaken your chi." Jade's face fell as she heard those words.
"You're leaving right now?" asked the girl in defeat. Ben shook his head as he stood up.
"Couldn't you at least give him time to process all this and sleep before you do anything?" asked the Omnitrix Wielder. "The big guy's gotta be freaking out inside over this whole 'Chosen One' thing." The monk shook his head in response as he continued to try and pull Tohru along.
"The chosen one's chi is vulnerable while it sleeps." informed the man. "If the dark forces were to destroy him now..." Tohru jerked in shock as he pulled back slightly.
"Destroy?" asked the poor giant as he began to fight back slightly. Jade growled as she shadowboxed.
"Let them try." declared the girl. "He's strong enough to take care of them." The monks gasped in disapproval.
"Oh no no no no!" denied the lead monk. "The Chosen One is an being of peace, not an instrument of war. It is foretold that a champion will come forth to defend him." Now Ben really wasn't buying it. There's no way someone like Tohru would be a pacifist after seeing how determined the big guy is to defend the others.
"I will call forth the Xiaolin Dragons immediately." declared Uncle. "A mission as important as this cannot be overlooked." The Ben Shui monks nodded in approval. Jade stepped forward as she stomped her foot.
"Then I'm going too!" shouted the halfa. Jackie looked to her in shock as her eyes flashed violet. "No dark forces are gonna hurt T while I'm around! He's my pal." Tohru smiled, seeing as someone is still treating him normally.
Jackie sighed as he shook his head. Why couldn't it have been a school day tomorrow? Max shook his head as well upon seeing the look in Ben's eyes. Now he really wouldn't be finishing that seafood potluck anytime soon.
Dark Palace, Unknown Location
Off in another continent entirely, upon a large rock spire, stood a dark, mist covered fortress. The moon cast an ominous glow upon it as it hung in the air. Red jagged rooftops covered each branching part of the tower and many flags of the same color fluttered in the wind. It seemed almost abandoned as there were boarded up windows and moss covered supports. If one were to look inside, however, they'd find a well decorated room with golden statues of some creature, yellow and purple banners draped from the ceiling and steps leading up to a golden cauldron.
Behind that cauldron, an old man with long gray hair, olive skin and long, chipped yellowed fingernails could be found. He ore a black robe with pointed shoulders, a teal-blue shirt beneath covering his torso and upper arms, and black clothing on his forearms. Upon his forehead was a black tattoo that consisted of an upside down v with a dot underneath it. There also rested a black tattoo running through his left eye. The man awoke from his meditation, revealing one green eye and another grey one.
"The Ben Shui have located the Chosen One." declared the dark figure. His face contorted to one of calm rage. "I, Daolon Wong, cannot allow his chi to be awakened, for evil must prevail and dark chi must reign." He grabbed a pinch of purple powder and dropped it into his cauldron. Blue flames rose from the pot as he raised his arms in the air.
The smoke fell to the ground in three different locations. From this smoke rose three red skinned figures with black eyes and pointy ears; each wearing a form of black, skin tight gi and being marked with many glowing tattoos. The first was skinny with long red hair pulled back in an equally long ponytail. The second one was of a more stocky build and lack of hair. The third and final one was of an average build with long hair that was left to fall wherever it may.
Daolon Wong looked over his minions with a cold air. "GAN! CHUI! REN! SEEK OUT THE CHOSEN ONE AND ANNIHILATE HIM!"
Each warrior held out their hands in response. The first one, Gan, formed a sanjiegun displaying its splitting function was still working. The second one, Chui, formed a mighty war hammer as he held it high. The last one, Ren, formed a windmill shuriken before spinning it as fast as a fan blade. Daolon Wong smiled as he watched his minions return to the form of the element from which they came. They took off into the night in search of the Chosen One.
Bhoten
The next day, near a large stone building, a plane touched down after a long journey. The stairs lowered to reveal a very uncomfortable Tohru. He walked down to the ground with the Ben Shui monks not far behind him. The trio stopped to take a break as they took a deep breath. They turned to Tohru, only to gasp as he began to grab up luggage.
"The Chosen One is a river of enlightenment, not a beast of burden." stated the most talkative of the trio. They soon took the luggage from Tohru as they carried it away. Raimundo and Clay exited the vehicle themselves as they tried to stretch out their joints. The poor teens were suddenly loaded with all the luggage by the three monks. "The Champions will serve."
"Wait a cotton picking..." began Clay. Raimundo fell over as the weight of his load was too much to bear. Jackie walked out to find the scene. He sighed as he grabbed some of the luggage from him. Raimundo was quick to stand up with the much lighter load.
"Muchos gracias Mr. Chan." thanked the Brazilian boy. "Those monks could stand to pull their own weight if the think the big guy's some sacred person." Uncle sighed as he finally exited the plane. He looked over to see the Ben Shui monks delivering a garment to Tohru.
"I'm losing my assistant shopkeeper every day." stated the old chi wizard in sadness. He adjusted his glasses as he walked down the steps to meet the others. "Jackie and the Monks will just have to help around the shop more often." Dojo soon landed with Ben, Gwen, Jade, Omi, Kimiko and Dani riding on his back. Omi and Kimiko helped the others off as Dojo readied to shrink.
"A mighty dragon has come to you, o great Chosen One!" marveled the lead Ben Shu disciple. Dojo looked to the little man in confusion.
"Um... excuse me?" asked the dragon as he got down face to face with the monk. He shouted in pain as Tohru was suddenly hoisted onto his back by the surprisingly strong little monks. Both of them were uncomfortable by this situation.
"The heavens have sent him to guide you on your way to the temple!" Dojo growled as he prepared to give the little nugget, but Uncle gestured for him to stop. Tohru got an idea as he raised his hand.
"I think the dragon is more as a way for... uh... my allies to follow me when I go to places they cannot." suggested the big man. The monks gasped as they watched him hop off. "Besides, I like to walk. It's... relaxing." The trio bowed their heads in shame.
"Forgive us for disgracing you Chosen One! Had it not been for you we would have truly incurred the wrath of the heavens." Dojo looked uncertain about this as he shrunk down to normal size. The lead monk looked to the others as he and his posse pulled them along. "We must resume our trek, so you must serve him well."
"Next time you tell me about some chosen one thing make sure these guys aren't involved." grumbled Dani as she glared at Jade. It didn't take long for the girls to find themselves dropping flowers behind them as they lead the way for "the Chosen One." The rest of the men not carrying luggage found themselves fanning Tohru to keep him cool and refreshed. Uncle groaned as he looked to his less than happy students. Tohru shook his head as he looked to the most talkative of the trio.
"Really, none of this is necessary." argued the big man. "Shouldn't we be taking a lesser known route or something?" The monk sounded off his delight once again, making Ben grumble as he calculated how hard it would be to make hitting him with the giant leaf look like an accident.
"The chosen one's glory is to be celebrated, not concealed." answered the short monk. It took a firm hand from Jackie to make sure Ben didn't get out of hand as he readied to throw the plant at the monk. The day wore on as the group continued to move onward. The three Xiaolin Dragons in the back panted as they began to lose energy. Omi fell over as he tried to catch his breath.
"Omi!" cried Kimiko as she abandoned her flowers for her friend. Clay and Raimundo abandoned the luggage as they moved to check on their yellow friend. The lead Ben Shui monk walked over as he also looked over the boy. Clay sighed as he checked his pulse.
"The little fell'r is exhausted." stated the cowboy to the others' relief. "He needs to rest. I reckon we better stop and let 'im." The Ben Shui monk sounded off his disagreement, still baring his smile.
"We cannot stop now." argued the orange garbed monk. "Our temple is still many miles away." There was about to be a toss up whether Raimundo or Ben got to the little guy first, when Tohru let out a big yawn. "The Chosen One requires rest!"
The three peaceful monks ran up to the man as they looked up to him. "We will stop for the night." They lead him onward as the others looked his way. They smiled as he winked back at them.
They soon found a nearby building to stop and rest for the night. The Xiaolin Dragons wasted no time laying Omi down on a mattress while Uncle and Dojo looked him over. He had a peaceful look on his face as he breathed in deeply. The old man sighed as he stood up. The others approached him as Dojo slinked up his arm.
"Traveling under the sun for so long took a toll on his body." stated the chi wizard. "Had we gone any further without rest we would have all suffered the same fate." Jade laid down a matt next to Ben and Gwen as she joined them on the floor.
"I don't think I'll ever be a florist after this." sighed Jade as she turned to face Gwen. "I think I might not ever look at a daffodil the same way again." Dani groaned as she laid perpendicular to the other kids.
"You're telling me." agreed the other halfa. "At least we can finally rest." As quickly as that was said, however, most of the occupants of the room found themselves lying on the cold floor. The Ben Shui monks began stacking futons on top of each other, whether they were occupied or not. The most talkative monk walked towards Omi as he looked to the others.
"When the Chosen One sleeps well, everyone is rested!" declared the orange garbed annoyance as he began to reach for the cheeseball's mattress. If looks could kill then several eyes would have pierced the man's back as he grabbed hold of the fabric. Tohru held out his hand in response.
"Stop!" ordered the giant. The Ben Shui monks looked to him in shock. "Not him please! He needs it just as much as you think I need these." The monks looked to each other in shock.
"Of course Chosen One! We shall leave him be." A sigh rang through the room as the others reluctantly tried to sleep on the hard floor. Throughout the night the others could be found tossing and turning in their sleep. Tohru, however, could be found lying wide awake as he thought over the whole ordeal.
Was his kindness to be traded for everyone else's well being? Omi was an example of what could have happened to everyone else. The big man turned over as he looked to the group. He smiled as he found ben with one of his arms over Jade. Uncle suddenly shot up with his usual scream.
"Tohru!" whispered Uncle as quietly as he could. "Uncle has the willies!" The big man shot up as he looked to the others.
"Everyone up now!" shouted Tohru. It was too late, however, as the wall behind him suddenly exploded. Gan appeared in the room, spinning his sanjiegun in preparation for an attack. Raimundo sprung into action as he made way for the bags. Kimiko and Clay prepared themselves as they ran defence. Tohru stomped forward to face the threat, but the talkative monk stood in his way.
"Uh-uh-uh." denied the monk. "The Chosen One is a being of peace." Tohru groaned as he looked for an opening. Clay raised one of the mats to block Gan's weapon as Kimiko came in from the side. The soldier turned instantly as he made his weapon rebound towards the girl.
"SHOKU MARS: FIRE!" shouted the Xiaolin Dragon of fire as she launched a small fireball towards the warrior. To everyone's surprise he tanked it like it was nothing. The talkative Ben Shui disciple gasped as he got a better look at the warrior.
"A dark chi warrior!" Uncle gasped as he watched the two monks fight the dark being. Master Fung had warned him of the dangers of dark chi wizards. Raimundo sounded off his success as he found the combat Wu. He looked behind him as he grabbed the signature relics.
"Fist and Star!" called out the Brazilian monk as he threw the Hanabi Star and Fist of Tebigong to the two fighters. Clay jumped up as he thrust his hand into the gauntlet.
"FIST OF TEBIGONG: EARTH!" roared Clay as he turned to the warrior. He smashed the Wu into the ground, creating a huge shockwave that pushed the villain out of the building the same way he came in. He then assisted Kimiko as she jumped into the air and caught her signature weapon.
"HANABI STAR: FIRE!" cried the female warrior as she unleashed a wave of fire upon Gan. He spun his weapon in the air as he blocked the flames. Raimundo came in from the other side and knocked the weapon out of his hands. The dark warrior was then pushed back by a punch from the cowboy.
"Try to take us without your weapon imp man!" insulted Raimundo as he ran it his opponent with the Sword of the Storm held high. The villain held out his hand, calling his weapon into action. It soared into his hand just in time to block the monk's attack.
"Raimundo!" called Uncle. "The chi of the warrior and the weapon are one! This allows him to control the sanjiegun!" The Brazilian groaned as he found himself in the middle of a push battle. When he finally got a good push in, however, the warrior vanished, leaving the same way he arrived.
"What in tarnation was that thing!?" asked Clay as he helped his friend up. Kimiko looked over the area where the being once stood.
"It was like one of Chase Young's Heylin weapons." compared the girl. "There was nothing but darkness in him, not even the human left over in the Heylin master." Uncle sighed as he walked over to her.
"We are being hunted by a dark chi wizard." answered the elder Chan. "This is most likely not the last time we see them on our journey." Jackie sighed as he looked over the damage. Tohru growled as he stepped outside.
"We are going home." declared the large man. "Your 'Chosen One' or not, I can't let my friends get hurt over this endeavor." The Ben Shui monks gasped as they stared up at him in awe.
"Such selflessness in the face of danger." marveled the only one to talk. He looked to one of his companions with a big smile. "There can be no doubt! He is the Chosen One!" The trio bowed to the goliath much to his, and the rest of the group's, dismay.
Temple Village
A new day was upon the group as they ventured forward. Omi had awakened the next day, though he was still completely out of it. As such, the group save for Tohru and their guides took up their own luggage. Jackie took on the burden of Omi's big backpack as to lessen the strain on the little guy. They soon found themselves approaching a small village with buildings similar to those they had recently run into.
"Are we there yet?" asked Jade, more as an attempt to get a rise out of the orange wearing monks than anything. Omi, who was now using Dani for support nodded his head slowly.
"Yes please tell us that we are at the temple." begged the boy. "I would like to take a long nap and count goats. Yes, I know the original phrase, but I am half into it right now." Jade winced in response. She didn't mean to bring that part up.
"Patience friends." stated the monk as he looked back at the group. "The Chosen One must meet with his worshipers." Tohru's eyes widened as he looked to the little monk.
"Worshipers?" asked the giant. A horn sounded off as people began to surround them. Jackie found himself falling onto his rear while trying to avoid being squashed by the crowd of people. Tohru took a step back as a large crowd stood before him. "What do they want?"
"To bask in your presence." The friendly giant was taken aback as the crowd began bowing to him over and over again. Ben growled as he shook his head.
"This whole Chosen One thing is a load of crap if you ask me." grumbled the boy as he looked to the others. "Who would want to be treated like this?" Gwen looked to him with a slightly surprised smirk.
"I thought you wanted to be a famous superhero?" asked the redhead. The Omnitrix wielder shook his head in response.
"Not if everyone treats me like these guys do... TOHRU!" The crowd looked to where their "Chosen One' once stood, now finding nothing but his white robe. The Ben Shui monks grabbed the garment as they looked it over.
"The Chosen One has vanished!" gasped the talkative monk. Uncle gasped as he looked to the Xiaolin.
"You three are terrible champions!" shouted the old man. "You let the Chosen One out of your sight." The trio of monks ran for the group with distraught written on their faces.
"We must find him! Who knows what the Dark Forces plan to do to him!?" The group split up as they searched the entire village. Nightfall soon fell upon them, but there was no sign of the "Chosen One."
The kids decided to work together for one last search before heading off to bed. Jade and Dani transformed into their ghost forms as they flew above the others. Gwen and Ben kept a sharp eye out for the big man on the streets. Still, with four times as many eyes, none of them could spot their lovable giant. Jade growled as she floated close to Dani.
"That's it." declared Jade. "If we don't find him soon, I'm calling in the Hogosha. What ever dark creep took my friend's gonna pay." They walked by a building when Ben heard the sound of clinking dishes. He backtracked to look into a nearby window, a frown forming on his face.
"More like dish duty." sighed the boy. The group soon joined him as they found Tohru washing dishes like back at Uncle's shop. The big man sighed in relief as he looked into the recently washed dish. Dani cleared her throat as the children's reflection appeared in the plate. The man sheepishly turned to the group as he set the plate down.
"Why'd you run off T!? You had us worried sick!" Tohru sighed as he looked to the massive stack of clean dishes.
"Yet another person inconvenienced by me." stated the big man. Dani stepped forward with her hands on her hips.
"What's that supposed to mean!?" asked the other halfa. "Is our little merry band too troublesome for Mr. 'Chosen One!?'" Tohru waved his hands in denial.
"NO NO! Far from it! I just... feel like a burden to you all. Truth be told I never wanted to be the Chosen One." Gwen looked to the big man with a tilted head.
"Why not?" asked the redhead of the group. "Those people clearly adore you, especially the Ben Shui order. They seem to be willing to do anything to please you." Tohru shook his head in response.
"I enjoy serving people, more specifically the people I love. All this Chosen One talk has only brought suffering to the rest of you. I'd rather go home and work in the shop like normal, maybe hand out some cookies." Ben and Gwen smiled at each other, knowing full well what he was referencing. Jade sighed as she looked around.
"I'm sure we'd all love that big guy, but those people look up to you." stated the young Chan. "They need someone like you to be their hero." Tohru sighed as he looked to his long time little buddy.
"But what if I'm not really the Chosen One they all think I am? What if they reject me for it?" Jade smirked as she gave the big man a hug.
"Then things go back to the way they were and we never have to hear 'the Chosen One this and the Chosen One that' ever again." Tohru chuckled as he rubbed the little girl on the head. "You never know till you try, and whatever you decide to do we'll be right behind you." Ben smirked as he looked outside. He squinted his eyes as he notices a faint blue smoke trail fly by for just a minute.
His eyes widen as he turns to find the others walking out of the building. "Uncle! Jackie! I found..." In a flash Ben transformed into an alien form and ran in front of the group.
Diamond head stood before the team as he blocked Gan's sanjigun. The weapon returned to its wielder as he spun it around. Crashing sounds filled the air as Chui bursted through some nearby walls. Ren's windmill shuriken flew through the air as it came to its master, cutting through some ropes along the way. The alien growled as he clenched his fists.
"Looks like the dark chi guy's back." stated Diamondhead. "He's brought along a few friends this time. Who wants to send them packing?" The girls smirked as they looked to each other. Jade and Dani reentered their ghostly forms as Gwen grabbed at the Ram talisman.
"The Chosen One is not allowed to fight." sighed Tohru in defeat. Jade smirked as she looked back at him.
"You think any of us are going to stop you?" asked the violet halfa. The giant smirked back as he looked to the enemies. Sadly, some opening doors stopped him in his tracks. The Ben Shui monks gasped as they looked to the quartet in front of their Chosen One. The others quickly joined them as they looked to the Dark Chi warriors.
"Less talking more smashing!" roared Diamondhead as he rushed Chui. Dani shot an ectoblast towards Ren, but he quickly blocked it with a spin of his shuriken. Jade groaned as the orange monks ushered Tohru into the building he just exited. She shot her own energy blast forward as she striked Gan. Gwen made rocks rise around her as she looked for a target.
"You can't just take them on alone!" cried Jackie as he ran towards the group. He was grabbed by his shirt collar as Uncle stopped him. "Uncle!?" The old man slapped him on the forehead in response.
"The monks will soon be out to help them!" shouted the chi wizard. "You will only get in their way at this point." The martial artist looked to Uncle in disbelief. He never thought he'd hear that he'd be in Jade's way in a fight. "If you want to help them then you must help me with this chi spell."
Jackie gulped at the sound of that. Diamondhead sent crystals forward as he tried to hit Chui, but the villain just deflected them with his hammer. The dark chi brute rushed forward with his weapon raised. The crystal hero raised his arms to block, only to feel an endless vibration as the warhammer connected. He was almost hit again when Gwen pulled him backwards with her powers.
"Better be happy geodes count as earth or you'd be toast!" roared Gwen as her hair floated upwards. "Choose an alien who can withstand the hammer!" Diamondhead shook his namesake as before smacking it with his hands.
"Better yet, how about someone who can take advantage of it?" asked the alien before he slammed the Omnitrix once more. Cannonbolt soon stood in his place with a smirk.
"Cannonbolt!" roared the alien. Chui blinked a few times in response. "Let's see how you like an alien that can take reentry!" He rolled up into his ball form as he rushed his opponent once more. The warrior tried to hit him from the front, but that proved to be ineffective as he soon barreled into the being.
Dani continued to fire her energy blasts at Ren as she dodged his flying blade. She ducked under a post as she tried to avoid the blade again, but it only cut through the post and kept on trucking. Ren motioned with his hand as he tried to get a good hit in on the girl. The shuriken grew closer and closer as Dani made a quick turn towards him. She capitalized on this, however, as she turned intangible and flew straight through him.
This proved to be the warriors downfall as his own blade cut through him. Both Ren and his weapon disappeared in a puff of blue smoke. The green ghost girl smirked as she flew towards the others. Jade, meanwhile, waited for an opening as Gan continued to block and reflect her ricochet blasts. She groaned as she readied yet another blast.
"How am I supposed to hit this guy if he's so focused on blocking any advances?" asked the girl as she fired at the dark chi warrior yet again. He blocked it yet again as he stepped back. His foot was extremely close to the shadows as he continued to block the attacks. "Duh!" Jade closed her eyes as she concentrated.
A familiar looking hand came out of the shadow and grabbed on to Gan's leg. The being turned to lash at the distraction, only to find no body behind it. This left him open to the ricochet blast, proving to be a fatal mistake as he joined Ren in his smoke state. The hand retreated into the shadows as they returned to normal. "Yes!"
"Nice one!" cheered Dani as she flew over to her fellow ghost. They high fived, only to find themselves almost flattened by a flying Cannonbolt. The alien remained in ball form as he used the momentum to try and catch Chui off guard. The warrior had found that hitting the alien from the side yielded better results as he once again sent him flying. This time, however, the stocky alien found himself caught with his back stuck in a wall.
"So not cool!" roared Cannonbolt. "This can't get any more embarrassing!" To his dismay, however, the Omnitrix timed out. Ben now found himself hanging from one of the stones by his shirt with a deadpan expression.
"Awe man!" cried the boy. "I have got to stop slamming the stupid watch when I use it." Chui walked towards the boy with a frown on his face. "Um... hey." To his surprise, the dark chi warrior looked around as he searched for Cannonbolt.
The boy breathed a sigh of relief as he tried to break free of the rubble. Then, as if a voice had spoken to him, the warrior looked up before turning his glare to Ben once more. He spun his hammer as he prepared to deal the finishing blow. Gwen ran onto the scene as she coated her hands in mana.
"Leave my cousin alone!" roared the girl as her eyes glowed pink. Chui turned to face her as the Ram Talisman glowed a matching color. She raised her hand to blast him, but a rumbling soon brought an end to that. A huge whip of molten rock popped out of the ground, much to the shock of all who looked upon it. Gwen, acting on instinct, willed the magma to encase the dark chi warrior.
The villain found himself having to vacate the battle field as the substance moved to crush him. With the enemy seemingly vanquished, Gwen moved the magma to return the way it came. As it returned to the earth below it sealed up the exit, leaving little trace of its existence aside from the scorch marks. The redhead gasped as her eyes returned to normal. The other fighters leapt out of the building, ready to face off against the... forces... that were no longer there.
"Looks like the lil ones handled themselves mighty fine." stated Clay as he looked over the battlefield. Uncle sighed as he walked out of the building, ash covering his face. He slapped Jackie in the back of the head, causing the younger adult to turn to him.
"Not only did you continuously mess up the spell, but now we are too late to help in the battle!" shouted the old man. "You would have made a terrible apprentice!" Tohru sighed as he walked away from the group. He soon found the kids helping Ben down from his spot in the rubble. He smiled as he approached them.
"Junior champions reporting for duty!" saluted Jade as she turned to the big man. The other children smiled as they looked to their companion. Before he could say anything, the friendly giant found himself once again being ushered along by the Ben Shui monks.
"Quick Chosen One!" insisted the talkative one. "The spirits have driven off the dark warriors! Our temple is not much further. There your chi will be safe upon awakening." The others sounded their relief at the news as they followed the group.
Uncle, however, looked back as he felt a dark presence watching them. The scene was suddenly parted as blue smoke by Daolon Wong with a growl. Suffice to say he was not pleased as he looked to the now empty cauldron.
"Not only does the Chosen One have Four Xiaolin Dragons and an actual dragon, but spirits, a shape shifter, a geomancer and his own chi wizard too!?" roared the villain. He took a deep breath as he reached for a wooden scepter with a dark orb on the end of it. "Very well. The old saying rings true once more. Magic must defeat magic, for it takes a chi wizard to beat a chi wizard."
Ben Shui Temple
Jackie looked out the window as he kept a sharp eye out for any signs of the enemy. The temple he found himself in seemed to be as old as some of the ancient ruins he'd visit on expeditions, though much better kept and populated. Many monks of the order sped through different rituals and preparations to ensure the awakening process went smoothly. He looked to Jade with a small frown, knowing how she must feel to see Tohru leave before their very eyes. A sudden flash of lightning spooked the martial artist as he returned his attention to the window.
"You worry too much friend." chuckled the talkative monk. "Good chi protects us here. No dark forces can enter the temple from the outside." Jackie sighed as he returned to the ceremony. The High Mystic, the tallest and oldest of the order, soon appeared as he stood in front of a large golden cushion.
"Welcome friends, to our humble temple." greeted the old monk. He looked to Tohru with a friendly smile on his face. "Are you ready for the awakening process, o great Chosen One?" Tohru had a look of worry on his face as he looked back to the others. This dread, however, soon turned into a courageous smile as the kids showed their support.
"Yes I am." stated the big man as he approached the High Mystic. The elder monk helped him to lay down on the cushion before placing both hands on the sides of his head. Tohru looked up to the man in confusion as he looked right back down at him.
"Once you awaken from this trance, your chi will be awakened and you will rise to lead us once more." The temple monks began to chant a mantra as Tohru fell into slumber. The others watched patiently as their friend underwent the process. Gwen got a weird feeling up her back as the door to the temple was opened by another monk. The figure, however, soon dropped some objects into one of the incense bowls, increasing the weird feeling.
"What's the matter Gwen?" asked Dani as she put a hand on the redhead's shoulder. Uncle suddenly shook and sounded his fright as he looked around.
"There's this unbearable feeling that's messing with my nerves." answered the girl. "I felt it back at the town and that one building, but not like this. It's like a tingle or something but..." The elder Chan looked down at her in shock.
"You have the willies too!?" asked the old man. Before anyone could question what was going on, the monk summoned the dark chi warriors inside the temple. His hood came off, revealing himself to be Daolon Wong. The Ben Shui trio gasped as they looked to the villains.
"A dark chi trick!" cried the talkative one. "The enemies were summoned from inside the temple! If they destroy the vessel now, the Chosen One's chi will be lost forever!" Jade growled as her eyes glowed in rage. The dark chi wizard waved his hands over his minions with a snarl.
"GAN!" began Daolon Wong. "REN! CHUI! DESTROY THEM ALL, STARTING WITH THE CHOSEN ONE!" The warriors summoned their weapons in preparation for battle.
"Not on our watch amigo!" shouted Raimundo as he brandished his signature Wu. The other monks followed suit as they also readied their weapons. To the surprise of the crew, Daolon Wong pulled out some very familiar stone dolls.
"I was not prepared for you before, but now that I know how you battle I have come armed with my stone warriors." stated the villain as he threw the statuettes onto the ground. They soon expanded as they took the form of Hex's rock monsters. Gwen pointed to the man in shock.
"How does he have Hex's rock monsters!?" asked the girl. "That's a sorcerer's thing!" This question was left unanswered as the warriors and the monsters leapt forward. The Xiaolin monks locked into battle with the enemies, but the dark chi warriors soon abandoned them in favor of the ceremony. Jackie jumped in the way of the attackers as he blocked Gan's sanjiegun.
"Back off freaks!" roared Jade as she shot violet flames at the other two. Ren and Chui dodged the flames before they could be burned to a crisp. Dani zoomed in from the right as she slammed straight into Ren once more. Ben looked through the aliens at his disposal as he tried to choose the perfect one for the situation. He smirked as he came across one of the silhouettes.
"Perfect." stated the boy as he pushed the core down. In a flash of light a familiar multi armed alien stood in his place. He pounded his fists togethers as he opened all four of his eyes.
"Fourarms!" roared the tetrimand as he stood before Chui. He motioned the warrior towards him with a cocky grin. "Ready for round two, hammer head?" The warrior obliged as he raised his weapon to attack. The four armed alien grabbed the weapon at its head as he struggled to keep it at bay.
He then smirked as he reared his bottom set back. Omi flushed some rock monsters out of the temple with the Orb of Tornami as Chui was sent flying overhead. They tried to run back inside, only to roar in pain as they fell apart. The cheeseball jumped off another rock monster and landed beside Raimundo. The leader was almost crushed by the rock golem till Omi kicked it away.
"The rock monsters cannot enter again once they are expelled from the temple!" shouted the boy. "They are filled with the dark chi wizard's evil chi! The temple barrier destroys their only energy source!" The taller monk smirked as he looked to the others.
"You hear him team!" declared Raimundo. "Let's kick these things out for good!" Kimiko grunted as she jumped on top of one of the monsters.
"Easy for you to say!" cried the girl. "These guys are tough for a girl to push back!" She jumped off as Clay punched the golem with the Fist of Tebigong, shattering it to pieces. He tipped his hat off to her as she landed.
"That's why we work as a team." reassured the cowboy as he turned to strike another golem. Uncle and Daolon Wong stood off against each other as the battle waged on around them. The head villain growled as he looked the elder Chan in the eye.
"Out of my way wizard!" ordered the dark chi master. "Your timid spells and childish students cannot stop me." Uncle responded by pulling out a newt and a blowfish before entering a battle stance.
"Be warned, for I have studied for years under the guidance of Xiaolin Master Fung." declared the good chi wizard. "My students were left to me by he himself, and I will not fail them or my former apprentice!" The villain sounded off his interest as he raised his scepter.
"But I, Daolon Wong, am the dark sorcerer who bested Fung in many battles before. What hope does a frail old man have against me?" Uncle huffed in annoyance as he strengthened his glare.
"Takes one to know one, and two to tango!" The two wizards chanted their mantra as they cast their respective magics towards each other. The two energies met in the middle as they battled for dominance. Jackie blocked Gan's weapon once again as he tried to keep him away from Tohru. The talkative monk ran up to him as he kicked the villain away.
"Take this!" demanded the monk as he tossed the staff to Jackie. It looked like an old wooden branch, not even refined into a weapon. "It is the walking stick of the previous Chosen One who herded Yaks so the people could have milk in hard times." The martial artist didn't have time to argue as he blocked another incoming attack from his opponent with the branch. He spun it around as he tried to get a good hit in on the warrior.
The two continued to exchange strikes as the monks found themselves surrounded by stone monsters. Clay striked at one of the golems, only to be smacked by another one. Kimiko growled as she sent a blast of fire forward to try and push them back.
"There's too many of them!" cried the girl as she found herself back to back with her fellow Xiaolin warriors. "Hex never had this many out at a time before! We need more fire power!" Jade growled as she flew overhead.
"Time to even the odds!" roared the halfa as she spread her arms out. The shadows deepened as they stretched beneath the lifeless golems. A naginata suddenly rose as it cut through a small group of the enemies. Grimsley hopped out of the shadows as he grabbed his trusty weapon. He smirked as he looked around the room.
"A Tenshi!?" asked Daolon Wong as he caught a glimpse of the warrior, almost breaking his concentration. The general growled as he turned to the remaining stone warriors. He twirled his weapon as his eyes glowed like Jade's.
"FOR THE QUEEN!" cried the ghastly man as eyes appeared along the walls. Hogosha rushed out with their blades unsheathed as they engaged the unexpecting enemy. The stone golems turned as they smashed down on the stragglers of the group. They employed the use of burning ninja wires as they pulled the monsters apart from the cracks in their form. Some took to targeting the dark chi warriors as they eased the tension on their allies.
Dani rose up as the warriors drew the attention of Ren. The warrior showed his skill as he sent his windmill shuriken through all of the shadow warriors. One raised his blade to block the weapon, only for it to cut through the metal. The girl tried to get the drop on him with one of her ectoblasts when Chui suddenly crashed into her. The attack was used up on the big guy as he dissipated into smoke.
"My bad!" cried Fourarms in response to the clone's glare. Thankfully, Jackie had a much better time as the Hogosha soon overtook Gan. He found trouble keeping up with the ninjas as they continued to block his weapons. Jackie came around from behind as the warrior found himself holding back two different blades. The martial artist whacked the villain in the back of the head, causing his eyes to go cross.
He stumbled for a bit before turning into smoke. He let out a cry of victory as he lifted the staff above his head. This lasted only for a short while, however, as a familiar shuriken soared towards him, cutting the object in half. He looked to the branch as green chi rose out of the cut areas. Ren jumped over the warriors as he moved to cut down the martial artist.
Jade flew forward as she reared back her fist. The warrior looked towards her as she hit him with a fiery fist. He quickly righted himself in the air as he flew back at her. She spun to the right as she dodged the blade of the shuriken. She rose her arms to block his kick, only to be launched back towards Tohru.
She stopped herself midair, just inches away from falling on top of the big man. She sighed as she returned her gaze to her opponent. Her face contorted in fear as the windmill shuriken came at her full speed. Fourarms had multiple stone golems on top of him as he watched the blade inch closer.
"JADE!" roared the alien as thee Omnitrix was currently out of his reach. The girl screamed as she raised her arms. A gong rang through the air, bringing the battle to a halt. Jade began to lower her arms as she dared to take a peek. Tohru's large hand was before her, holding the weapon in a tight grip.
"It is complete." declared the High Mystic. "The Chosen One stands with us once more!" The temple monks began to rally as the big man rose from his position. To their surprise, however, he crushed the weapon with his bare hands.
"No." stated the Japanese giant. "I have no new memories." The head monk gestured to another part of the room as another member brought over a Yak.
"Not even your most favorite Yak, who stood faithfully by the most recent incarnation?" The big man shook his head in denial as he stood up. He pulled his hood back, revealing an enraged scowl.
"I am not the Chosen One." He ripped off the large robe as he stepped forward. "The one thing I do know, is that I am angry!" He roared as he charged the dark chi warrior. The being had no time to escape as he was wrapped up in a crushing bear hug.
Ren let out a silent scream as he popped into smoke, dissipating faster than the others. Tohru then grabbed some of the rock monsters that were on top of Fourarms as he threw them out of the temple one by one. The alien smirked in response as he crushed one of the monsters' head in his grasp. Daolon Wong growled as the heroes stood before him. He raised his scepter as he gritted his teeth.
"The Chosen One will one day be found and when that day comes, I shall return!" declared the villain. Uncle harrumphed as he waved his newt in the air.
"That is what you think!" argued Uncle as he sent a spell the old fool's way. Wong soon found himself ensnared by the spell as the blast traveled towards his face. The chi essentially gave him Uncle's signature slap as it began to affect him. The dark chi wizard was hurtled out of the temple and off of the mountain in a green light. "Daolon Wong and his minions may never return again."
The Ben Shui monks cheered as they danced in celebration. They may not have found their chosen one, but darkness was once again vanquished on this day.
The next day, Jackie and the guys found themselves carrying luggage once again as they prepared to leave the mountain. It would be a long trip back to the landing zone, but it would be easier as it was all downhill from there on. Even Omi eagerly shifted his large backpack in anticipation of the trip home. He grunted as he yet again tries to adjust the bag, only to feel it become lighter as it left his back. He turned around to see Tohru strapping it to his own back with a smile.
"I insist." stated the big man. Omi smiles back as he nodded his head. The group soon crossed paths with the three monks who started the whole ordeal as they exited the compound. Tohru stopped as he turned to the trio. "Um... sorry for the mixup."
"Think nothing of it." denied the talkative monk. "Go in peace friend." The big man smiled as he resumed his trek. The silent ones of the trio looked to each other once the group was out of sight. The High Mystic approached them with a smile.
"Perhaps you found the right location, but the wrong vessel." surmised the head monk. He gestured to the kids as they talked amongst each other. "Those four have incredible power. One of them could be the Chosen One while another their champion." The talkative monk looked to the yak from yesterday with a big smile.
"Maybe we should see if one of them remembers the yak?" He turned to the group once again, growing a frightened expression as Ben glared back at them. "Or... maybe we can look, around the area a bit more first." The boy slowly turned his head forward once more as he smiled again. He hoped to never see this place ever again.
That's it for this chapter. I was honestly waiting to do that ending for a while when I started writing this. I forgot how annoying the three monks were, stealing stuff from the crew to please Tohru and forcing them to work to please him as well. I don't know if it's a monk thing or something, but couldn't they have done some of the work themselves if Tohru was that important to them!? ... I digress.
What did you think of the chapter? Did you like how I handled the fights? How is Daolon Wong connected to Hex? Remember to read and review so I can get back with you ASAP. Anywho, see you in the next chapter... RIGHT AFTER A SURPRISE OMAKE!
Section 13, San Francisco
Captain Black groaned as he rubbed his temples. There were times he really hated his job. That became increasingly so as magic came into the picture, making him seem like a madman at times. The only thing that didn't give him a headache were the Talismans of Shendu, which actually proved to be helpful in a crisis. It's not like there was anything wrong with keeping them around in the base right?
Not according to the man above his head, Hirsch. The man had technicians installing new security systems on the vault where they keep important pieces of evidence and dangerous objects they wished to keep out of the wrong hands. The technician ended up opening the vault, revealing the talismans. It shouldn't have been a problem... if Black had actually remembered to file them as evidence against the Dark Hand like he was supposed to. The man gave him an ultimatum to remove the talismans or face heavy charges and the loss of the captain's station.
There wasn't really much he could do at this point. He had friends in high places but there wasn't really anyone who could... Black groaned as he facepalmed. Why hadn't he thought of it sooner. He picked up the phone as he dialed a number. The line came alive as he held the object to his ear.
"Hello?" asked the voice over the line.
"Maxwell, it's Black." responded the head of Section of 13. "We have a problem. Hirsch came by today and found out about the talismans. If we can't find a way to change his mind or go over his head, we'll have to move them to a new location." The elder tennyson groaned over the phone.
"I'll see what I can do, but be ready to move them to Chan's temple just in case." The line went dead as the majister hung up. Black rubbed the back of his bald head as he leaned back. The only thing he could do was wait as hours ticked by. It's not like this was going to be...
The phone sounded off in an instant, cutting off his train of thought. He tilted his head as he reached for the device. He brought it up to his ear as he leaned forward again.
"Hello?"
"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THE PLUMBERS WERE INVOLVED!" shouted Hirsch over the line. "DO YOU KNOW HOW CLOSE I WAS TO LOSING MY JOB!? NEXT TIME YOU HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THAT ON BASE FILE IT UNDER OTHER PARTY!" The line went dead once more as Hirsch hung up. The captain rubbed his aching ear as he sounded off his surprise.
"Guess that's that. I don't think I've ever heard Hirsch that scared before." The man stood up as he left his office. He didn't know why, but he felt like there was gonna be another Talisman raid. He opened the vault door to find all the stones in place.
He scratched his chin in thought. If Jade wasn't gonna break into the vault to take the talismans for one last spin, then where was she?
Plumber Base
Jade kept her eyes on the screen as she fiddled with the controller in her hand. Ben sat beside her as he held the same determined face. Kevin and Gwen, on the other hand, did not have the same confidence as the duo. The contest was heating up as they reached the last round. Jade sounded off her battle cry as she completed a combo.
The character on the screen went into a flying kick, knocking out another one. Kevin growled as he plopped a controler beside him, Gwen rubbing his shoulder to try and ease his nerves. Ben and Jade broke out into their respective victory dances as the screen displayed the victor. What was this whole competition about you might ask? While it was mostly a way to distract Jade from making another talisman run, Kevin just had to blurt out that he was an unbeatable master of Sumo Slammers back when he lived on the streets.
The girl made a bet with him that she could beat him five times in a row as one of the weirdest characters in the game. His stats weren't the best, bringing the boy to accept. Ben and Gwen got in on it when the redhead doubted the strength of such a weak character. The one thing neither doubter knew, however, was that the character was a nightmare in the hands of someone who knew how to utilize his large pool of combos. Lo and behold Sumo Cat beat every character thrown at him, five matches in a row.
"And that is why he never appeared in another Sumo Slammers since Three." stated Ben as he crossed his arms. "His combos were so hard to pull off that it left him too hard for players to really get a feel for." Jade put her hands behind her head as she smiled.
"He really was a joke character anyway." stated the young Chan. Kevin shook his head as he turned away from them. "Uh-Uh-Uh! A deal is a deal. Now you have to do anything we say."
"I thought we left it at owing you some sweets!?" roared the boy. "How the heck is this fair!?" The ravenette pointed to Gwen with a smug face.
"Oh don't get me wrong. You still do, but Gwen here upped the stakes with her deal with Ben." The redhead blushed in embarrassment as she tried to find words to argue with. The door to Ben's room opened as Rook made his entrance. He looked at the group for a while before giving off a sincere smile.
"Who won?" asked the boy. The losers pointed to the victors as the boy stepped into the room. "Sorry for you then. In any case, Majister Tennyson has taken care of the talisman issue over at Section 13." Jade's smile grew as she pumped her fist.
"Yes! Now we don't have to worry about them getting stolen again." Gwen shook her head as she pointed to the girl.
"You mean you won't have to take them for another spin and possibly hide them." argued the redhead. The young Chan chuckled in embarrassment as she rubbed the back of her head. She didn't mean to be so predictable but breaking into the vault was child's play for someone like her, even before all the super cool powers. She suddenly snapped her fingers as she turned to her poor victims.
"I got it! You two have to take us to the new Sumo Slammer movie AND pay for tickets and popcorn!" The duo sounded off their disbelief as Ben gave her a fistbump. Gwen suddenly got an evil smirk on her face as she looked at them.
"Oh darn." sighed the redhead. "Guess we'll have to honor the deal then." Kevin looked to her with a confused look, only to gain the same smile himself. "Fine. We'll take you to see the stupid movie."
"Why are you two smiling like that?" asked Ben, gaining an uncomfortable feeling. He knew his cousin well, and the smile she wore currently was he scheming smile. Jade, however, was ecstatic as she pumped both of her fists.
"Oh don't worry about it. We better get ready for that movie." Jade zoomed out the door as if someone had found another new artifact. Ben followed behind her, still not comfortable about the whole deal. Gwen suddenly bent over as she whispered into Kevin's ear, making him laugh as he cradled his stomach.
Nearby Theater
Ben knew something was up when he saw them smiling. Don't get the wrong idea, they honored the deal alright. He was currently sitting inside the theater with Jade as the movie rolled on. Just him and her, however, as the others had taken Jade's words literally. They bailed as soon as the duo had entered the theater, leaving them to believe they left for popcorn.
Jade had essentially got them into a movie for two, bringing about an awkward experience. If there were someone they knew there or at least an adult with them then there wouldn't be much to be embarrassed about. At this point, however, it looked like they were on a date, which a couple of elderly people were all too keen to point out. This thought was in both of their minds as they tried not to make it too obvious that they were alone. Jade sighed as she scooted a little closer to the boy.
'Those two are so getting it when this is over.' thought the halfa as she fought to keep her eyes from glowing. 'Might as well make the most of it though.' She leaned her head on the Omnitrix wielder's shoulder bringing about a shocked expression on his face. He gulped as he composed himself. He scooted a little closer himself as he kept his eyes on the screen.
They soon lost themselves as they began to actually enjoy the experience. Gwen snickered to herself as she snuck out of the theater. She made her way for Kevin as he looked to the sky.
"Mission accomplished." stated the girl as she came to a stop. The former villain smirked as he turned to the girl. His head jerked back a bit in shock as he got a look at the girl. She wore her regular cat shirt and white shoes, but she also wore a blue jean shirt, a long pink pleated skirt and white leggings. He felt a little under dressed himself as he wore a red plaid buttoned long sleeve along with his normal outfit.
He never saw the change in attire as they had split up a few hours before to get the others inside the theater. The redhead smirked as she grabbed his arm. "Now to learn how to use that character so next time we can take her down!" Kevin could only nod in silence as he let the girl drag him along. It was safe to say that Gwen had swindled all of them in this deal, maybe a little too well.
