Chapter 104: Darkness and Dark Justice
Pain. Smoke. Dust. Screams. They were all so jumbled together that Luffy couldn't even make hide not hair of what or where his friends, enemies or neutral parties were. The only thing he knew was that he was standing in a high vaulted room; having exited a long corridor, and now staring down the shaggy black haired man in a white shirt and black trousers, and a styled goatee blocking his way. "Get out of my way!" Luffy snarled, creating black vortexes in each hand. The shockwave hit him before he had even realised that the man had moved, and suddenly that was all he felt a searing pain through his stomach as the agent struck him. "Finger pistol", Rob Lucci stated monotonously, before leaping into the air and then delivering a round house kick that sent luffy flying into the wall. There was no thought. Though the pain and blurred vision, he heard the distinctive drop of footsteps. And in that moment he moved his hand in front of him and made a "vortex" which collided with Lucci, resulting in a scream of panic. "Wahh! What the hell did you do to me?" Lucci yelled as he spat blood on the ground before him. "Darkness swallows all, that includes devil fruit powers, and energy. I can only do it temporarily but when I become stronger it can be done permanently". His ears could hear the agent growling with frustration and rage, in that moment luffy realised that agent would probably try to tire him out then kill him when he was too exhausted to use his powers. His head spun like his brain was being liquefied, plans being rejected or modified in relation to his enemies new defensive plan.
"Gravity Cannon!" Luffy launched himself for the wall he was embedded in and smashed straight into Rob Lucci propelling then both upwards through the vaulted ceiling and into the air above Enies Lobby. "Moon walk," Lucci then, in his leopard devil fruit form, lunged forwards and sank his teeth into the straw hat captains right arm before being punched in the face by a cannon ball released from a "pocket void", sending the leopard-man flying towards the Bridge of Hesitation. "You're not getting away from me that easily!" Luffy hollowed as he made a black hole appear before him and jump into it; disappearing.
Chief Spandam was leading a group of twenty four marines, plus Nico Robin, towards the waiting ship across the Bridge of Hesitation when what looked like a shooting star smashed into the ground before their approaching convoy. "Halt! Spandam yelled drawing his elephant sword; the head was on the hilt and the blade was the trunk and tusks. "Who are you—-Lucci... what are you doing here!"
"Black Hole!" A mass of darkness appeared on the stone path out of which rose the straw hat captain; who proceeded to fling cannon balls, swords and explosives at the strongest of CP9, seemingly unaware that the person he wanted t rescue was right behind him struggling to announce herself, from behind a mouth gag.
"Heavy Impact!" With little to no warning, a gigantic portion of the courthouse suddenly appeared out of thin air and the proceed to fall directly on top of Rob Lucci. Bringing down that section of the bridge into the sea below. However, "skywalk", the voice of Lucci growled as he shot upwards from the falling debris. "Tempest kick!" He swivelled his leg and sent a series of strikes at luffy, "Black riot" the boy replied; creating a mist of darkness floating around the agent absorbing the attack and then redirecting it straight back at the agent tenfold. From her position behind Spandam, and the guards, Robin saw the furious rage brimming within Luffy's eyes directed at Lucci; then before she could grab her a captain's attention she felt a bout of nausea hit her. Looking at her wrists she saw that the ropes binding her were now replaced by chains, "Sea prism stone. My dear Robin", the Chief laughter over his shoulder hearing the clink of metal. "Now then..." However, before he could launch into more sadism; he found himself buried by bricks that just appeared to drop on top of him. "Oomph..." Spandam groaned beneath the pile of rumble from the demolished courthouse. "How did rubble get up here?" The soldiers mused before being pulled into a swilling mass of darkness under foot; "I possess the Dark-Dark fruit..." Luffy stated, as both Lucci and Spandam emerged from their respective piles of rubble. "This power gives me the ability to take anything I wish into darkness and then bring that darkness onto anyone who oppose me".
"Shoot them you fools!" Spandam yelled, pulling himself up and dusting down. "Shoot him to death for humiliating me!" The marines all frowned at the reason for the death sentence; they had expected something along the lines of 'daring to challenge the World Government' not egotistical pettiness. Yet they were soldiers of the Navy, and their loyalty was to the government and so they followed orders, "Fire at will!" The shout of the chief screamed as the hail of bullets rang through the air and towards the teenage pirate captain. Behind the pirates, Rob Lucci shook free his jacket from his shoulders and transformed into his full leopard devil fruit form; "prepare yourself straw hat! You will never see your friends again!" Luffy narrowed his eyes as he stood glaring at the leopard agent before him, "come at me, you cat!"
His words elicited a rise. As Lucci shot forwards and smashed his fist onto the stone walkway, shattering stones and making it difficult for the guards to make to the awaiting navy battle ship. "Don't interfere! This is my fight", Lucci snapped back; before turning around and slamming his fist onto Luffy's chest sending them both careening down into the base of one of bridges support towers. "Luffy!" Robin screamed as she saw her captain disappear along with her former tormentor. Running towards the broken edge she looked down and saw her captain and the government agent beginning another round of battling.
Robin screamed, dripping to her knees, as a dagger was plunged into her shoulder. Clutching her wound and seeing her red tipped fingers, she saw the irately angry visage of Spandam telling into a transponder snail. And that sight only made her fearful tendencies rise exponentially, the chief was holding the Golden Transponder Snail. "This is a full-scale, indiscriminatory attack on the judicial island of Enies Lobby. With the authority given to me by Admiral Aokiji and by my responsibilities and chief of Cipher Pol 9; I hereby order a Buster Call!" All the colour drained from her face, as she took in the magnitude of the action that this man had just create. "No!" Robin gasped, getting together feet and trying desperately to grab the transponder snail from Spandam's hands; all the while flashbacks of the past Buster Call on Ohara filling her mind. "You have to recall that order, please thousands of people are going to die here unless you desist". Spandam simply gripped her by the neck and shoved her back down on to the ground before speaking into the snail once more; "The main targets are the Straw Hat Luffy, his crew of seven, along with the rampaging 70 men of Galley-La.
However, Nico Robin, who is on the Bridge of Hesitation, is not to be targeted by order of the Five Elder Stars. Begin by targeting the Tower of Law and the surrounding town!"
"So...they've got you all tied up, Nico Robin", the voice of her fellow captive suddenly spoke, followed by a powerful strike of lightning and another familiar voice. "Thunder Bolt Tempo!" Robin cried as she then saw Nami, Suki, Vivi and Usopp all running towards her, baring their respective weapons or devil fruits powers. "If they have a ship at the end of the bridge, we can use it to escape", Franky commented before he punched aside several marines with a "strong left!" Vivi, and Usopp behind his mask, frowned at having to follow a criminals plans, "fine we'll go for it," Nami agreed as Usopp risked forwards and picked the lock on her cuffs. Making her blink at how easy I he had done so; it also made her realise that if they didn't to get the keys, then it meant that Luffy, Zoro and Sanji were just toying with CP9. "Still, we should wait for Sanji and Zoro at the ship, then we can rescue the others that joined us as well as the two giants", Vivi continued. "Luffy can manage Lucci on his own, and probably doesn't want us to get in danger by coming to his aid". As the cuffs fell to the floor, Robin felt an immediate anger rise within her heart as she saw Spandam aiming his sword at Suki. "Seis fleur!" Six arms sprouted from the chief's back which then preceded to grab and twist him into a ball and roll him into his own soldiers.
"Come on!" Franky yelled, extending his arms over the destroyed section of bridge making himself a walkway. "We need to hurry", Robin took one last look over her shoulder glaring at the man who had beaten her and had abruptly and painfully reminded her of Ohara, sprawled unconscious. "I hope you get severely punished for this..." she muttered before feeling arms wrap around her waist. Looking down she saw Suki hugging her and attempting to pull her along; "Come on Robin, you're home now". How could she even try to resist those big brown eyes; shining with youth and hope.
