I had a much longer forward in previous versions that went into greater detail on how/why I created this fanfic... but I think it was a little long for some. So if anyone cares for more "explanation", just take a look at my profile page, It has the long breakdown there.
Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess all give us a pretty clear picture on how they are connected. But I've always felt that the connection between Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past (the "downfall" timeline) was a little weak. Events are described in Hyrule Historia, or online, that we have never seen. Did Ganon kill Link? How in the world would that work out for Zelda? I've had a hard time swallowing what the general fandom has accepted as the "Downfall" timeline.
I would prefer we find a way to explain the victory of Ganon and the downfall of Hyrule in a more... fleshed out way. There is a story there to be told. One other thing: We've never actually seen Ganon get the full Triforce. We have heard about him getting it, and we've seen a Ganon holding the full Triforce, but we've never actually seen (in game) what happens/happened when Ganon actually got it. What did he actually do with supreme power once he obtained it?
This story is my fanfic of how Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past are connected. What happened, who lived, who died, and how Hyrule ended up as it did. I have done everything I could to stay within the Zelda lines, and make as many real-canon connections as I could; to help the reader immerse themselves and view it as a genuine article.
I have most of the story already in my head, even the ending, but its going to take some time to write it all down and proof it. Right now I have ~52,000 words on fanfiction, I estimate the entire story will be about 150k+ by the time its all done. So, if what you read interests you, shoot me a message or review asking for more, and I'll work as fast as I can on it!
Once again, please give it a read, and PLEASE leave me reviews. I want to know what you all think of this - good or bad!
P-1: Is my Prologue, its setting up an even larger story. Its not... absolutely necessary to the Zelda fanfic though, so you can skip it... I guess :(
P-2, P-3, & P-4: Are back-story expositions into the greater Zelda lore. Everything is as faithfully accurate to the games/Hyrule Historia as I can make it, with only very minor insertions to fill in the tiny gaps where necessary. If you are already a Zelda mega-fan and are intimately familiar with the games/Zelda backstory, then you can skip these and go straight to Chapter 1. But I would strongly recommend you read them to better get your mind in the right place for my fanfic. :)
