Series 1, Episode 42~ House of Masks

The damage control Camilla assumed she'd have to do with Amber thinking Mick and her would be getting back together didn't actually need to happen. Camilla found out – through a rant of Ambers – that she had walked in on Mick asking Mara out. Though from the look in Amber's eye she knew there would still be drama to come involving that three so she was on edge waiting to see what the blonde would do next.

Camilla walked into her room and let out a loud groan as she fell onto her bed, not noticing Nina sat crossed legged reading. "You okay Cam?"

"Nina?" Camilla asked, lifting her head and finally noticing her roommate. "Yeah, yeah Amber's got some drama I'm sure you'll get the same rant later." This caused the girl to let out a laugh and Camilla finally sat up and took in what Nina was doing, "What are you reading?"

"Oh..." before Nina could say anything the door to their room creaked open once again and Fabian and Patricia wandered in.

"Hey!" Fabian exclaimed seeing Nina, "your back."

"Did you find what you were looking for?" Patricia asked as she wandered over to Camilla's bed and pulled her off so they could have an unofficial Sibuna meeting.

"Not exactly," Nina started, Camilla's curiosity about what Sarah had said taking over more than her need to should at Patricia for manhandling her. "But, I did find this in the attic," she told them holding the papers up she had been reading to Fabian so the girls could read it over his shoulder. It was an old newspaper article describing Sarah, Victor and Rufus funding the Anum Academy boarding school in the 1960s.

"Whoa." Fabian and Camilla said as one.

Patricia took the paper off Fabian and sat down on Nina's bed, "this photo was actually taken in the 1960s?"

"Yep," Nina answered.

"But Rufus and Victor have hardly changed," Camilla commented.

"Yeah," Nina said looking at them, "and Sarah's aged normally I know."

"so does this mean..." Fabian paused before lowering his voice a hint of excitement in his tone, "the elixir?"

"Really does exist?" Nina asked just as excitedly, "well yeah, I think it does."

"and Victor isn't the only one taking it," Camilla said pointedly looking at Rufus's glowering face in the picture."

"You know when Rufus held me in that warehouse?" Patricia said after a moment, "he said him, Victor and Sarah went back a long way, they were connected in a way I'd never understand." Patricia looked at Nina as Camilla took the paper off the girl, "well looking at this it seems they all were friends even."

"Business partners at least," Camilla muttered with Fabian humming his agreement next to her.

"Sarah said something today about being betrayed," Nina said softly, the worry was clear in her voice. Before she could say anything Alfie came bursting into the room.

"Guys suppers ready?!" Instantly Nina grabbed the paper from Camilla's hands and hit it behind her, as they all turned to their favourite goofball. Alfie looked at them all with a smile, "What's this a little secret meeting? Wicked! "

"Alfie would you tell Trudy we'll be down in a minute," Nina started and from the looks, Patricia and Fabian shared Camilla knew they hadn't told Nina Alfie was on team Sibuna now. "we just need to finish something..."

Fabian turned to open the door for him as Nina made shooing motions with her hands.

"Oh," Alfie sounded a little defeated and Camilla couldn't look at him so she kept her gaze on Patricia, out of the 4 Sibuna's she knew she would be the one to break when it came to Alfie. She hated keeping secrets from him, their friendship meant more than that. "Yeah alright then, em, but keep me in the loop yeah..." Camilla could hear the tone of his voice change as he was ushered away, Alfie was innocent and you could tell he truly cared, "you know, we're like family now." With that, he left.

"Okay, did I miss something?" Nina asked and Patricia and Fabian looked at one another before looking at Camilla.

"No way, this is on you too. I already feel bad." Camilla answered for her twin and friend.

"Let's just say we told Alfie the truth, well some of the truth..." Fabian slowly explained to Nina.

"We should have had a meeting to discuss first guys!" She told them getting to her feet.

"And how were they meant to organise that with you out of school all day and Alfie literally tackling anyone who seemed odd?" Camilla sassed crossing her arms.

Nina ignored Camilla's sassy comment and continued causing the girl to scoff and lift her arms in a 'why do I even bother' kind of way, "Alfie could jeopardise the whole thing."

"We just told him a few things, that's all." Patricia tried to reason with her. "enough to keep him at bay."

"Still," Fabian spoke uplifting the paper Nina had found, "this is exciting, it proves we were right all along. About victor, the elixir ..."

"We still haven't got any proof though," Patricia said. "That stuff we've got is just... water and herbs. According to the toxicology report."

"Well we just picked up the wrong bottle" Camilla suggested.

"Yeah, there were loads of bottles in the cellar." Fabian continued for his twin.

"Well in the case." Patricia sighed, "don't we need too..."

"go back down to the cellar." Nina finished for her, causing them all to look at each other in worry.

"Come on, we better get down to dinner. We can explain this cellar plan to Amber later." Camilla spoke up and that's all that was needed for the topic to be dropped for now.

"You okay?" Fabian asked as the girls walked past him, "You look worried. Nina doesn't mean to be angry about Alfie, we did the right thing."

"I know you did." Camilla told her twin, "I'm still getting over the fact that Victor founded the school." Camilla muttered causing Fabian to laugh and throw an arm around her shoulder as they left the room.

It was a dinner that they were all informed that Amber was now running for school rep, it seemed she was going to get revenge for Mick and Mara. It was also at dinner that she informed Camilla that she would be helping Alfie run her campaign. Of course, Camilla said yes, mainly due to the comment from Jerome saying that Amber would never win against him and Mara. The election's stakes just got higher as along with it being Amber VS Mara it was now Camilla VS Jerome. To quote her brother; "this is going to end in blood and tears, you watch it."

"Amber, Cam," Fabian said from the door of the living room where he Patricia and Nina stood, "we need to talk." Camilla looked up from the couch as Amber and Alfie stood too. "ehhh, just the girls sorry Alfie." Fabian said softly.

"Thanks a bunch!" Alfie moaned before moving off.

"Sorry Alfie, it's just..." Nina started but couldn't finish. Amber and Camilla looked at one another before joining the other Sibuna's.

"So, we need to decide who's going to go down to the cellar and get the real elixir," Patricia told them all, jumping straight to the point.

"Why aren't we including Alfie?" Amber asked, and Camilla nodded her head in agreement, "he said he was one of us."

"I knew this would happen," Nina softly said to Fabian. Nina knew of Camilla's fondness to Alfie and now he knew her secret she would fight tooth and nail to make him an official member and it seemed she had Amber on her side now too. They had no chance.

As if they were just proving Nina's point Amber and Camilla quickly turned and marched down to Alfie and Jerome's bedroom, they were going to make sure the boy was involved.

"Alfie..." Nina started as he crossed his arms at their arrival, "I'm sorry, it's just this is a big deal okay? Like, life death the whole thing. People have been hurt."

"yeah, and Alfie was one of them," Amber said before anyone could stop her. "Remember we hospitalised him?"

"Amber!" Fabian and Patricia warned her, but the words were already out in the open.

"What?" Alfie exclaimed getting to his feet, angry and rightly so.

"Well..." Amber started, "that stuff you drank..."

"We found it in the cellar," Fabian explained to the boy.

"you could have killed me!" Alfie screamed.

"Yeah, I guess soo..." Nina lamely replied. "sorry. But hey, the good news is that we didn't!"

"So what was it?" Alfie asked.

"It wasn't the stuff we were looking for," Camilla spoke up for the first time.

"Unfortunately, so we need to get someone-" Fabian spoke but was stopped by Nina.

"I'll do it." Alfie volunteered. "I'm sick of being left out, this way I can prove myself. Please."

"Alfie..." Camilla softly said.

"You have to let me!" Alfie argued, "I deserve to do this mission after all you've put me through!"

"He's right," Patricia spoke up, "I vote Alfie."

This caused Nina and Fabian to sigh in defeat. "Okay fine," Nina muttered, "but somebody has to go with him."

This caused everyone to look around in worry.

As they all rushed to the kitchen, Alfie seemed almost excited about the mission they were prepping for, "it's going to be great, us lot all together. Intrepid explorers, mystery detectives."

"Alfie..." Patricia warned as he got louder and louder. "You have to take this seriously."

"So, do we have torches and stuff?"

"No, and you'll be blindfolded," Patricia told him.

"Blindfolded?" Alfie seemed worried now.

"Patricia..." Nina laughed, "no Alfie, of course, you won't be blindfolded. Don't panic."

"I'm not panicking."

"Aww Alfie," Amber spoke up, "its okay, I'm scared too and I'm not even going."

"I'm not scared? Whos scared?" Alfie stuttered.

"All clear?" Fabian asked causing them all to look round the doors getting nods from all.

Nina looked to Camilla before pulling out her locket and walking over to the fake oven door. Placing the locket over it and watching it open up.

"Cool," Alfie whispered.

"Okay, one of us will keep watch and if its unsafe we'll knock three times," Nina explained to the boy.

"Are you ready?" Fabian asked the boy who nodded his head.

"of course I'm ready," Alfie replied back with confidence Camilla was surprised to hear.

"Sibuna," Nina spoke up raising her hand.

"Sibuna," everyone else replied before they moved past so Alfie and Fabian could crawl down to the cellar.

Camilla was in the kitchen keeping an eye out as she was the first to be on watch, she was busy sitting cross-legged on the counter waiting for her hot coco to boil on the hob, practising trying to move a paperclip across the counter from her. The Magic she had experienced over the last few weeks was fleeting and always in high-intensity situations or when her emotions were high, so she was trying to see if she could do it normally. She had been sat for the last 10 minutes trying to get the paperclip to move but nothing.

A depressed-looking Jerome came wandering into the room and lent against the counter Camilla was sat on. The girl knew that something was up and on his mind but he didn't say anything. It took 5 minutes of silence before Camilla had enough and she spoke up, "The village down the road called. They are looking for their idiot who got loose,"

"Huh?" Jerome asked.

"What's up, idiot?" Camilla asked jumping off the counter to take her pot of the hob and pull 3 mugs from the cupboard.

"I have a favour to ask of you, and I don't know how to ask it." Jerome slowly asked his eyes on the corridor outside. Camilla had already seen Mara walk past before Jerome joined her so she had a funny feeling it was about that.

"Does this, or does this not have to do with Mara and Mick?" She asked as she poured the coco into the mugs.

"Maybe," Came Jerome's small voice.

"Hmmm, spill." Was all the girl said as she added marshmallows, and whipped cream to the mugs

"We need to restart our agreement," Jerome spoke quickly. Causing Camilla to stop her whipped cream and turn around, "we need to fake date, but not in Amber's mind but for real."

"Like hand-holding, the whole eww cute stuff?"

"We would never be that kind of couple. Yes to hold hands but we have more respect than that to forget about our friends and be in couple bubble." Jerome argued.

"What would I get out of it?" Camilla asked.

"Anything," Jerome all but begged.

"You really like Mara that much?" Camilla honestly asked, and Jerome's head fell. She wasn't sure if he loved Mara or not, but he deserved a chance with her she guessed. Before she could say anything Victor stormed past, and Jerome shot out of the Kitchen, Camilla followed him and watched from the door and Victor interrupted Mara and Mick's date night. Jerome had it bad and he was going about it all in the wrong way, perhaps she could help him win Mara over correctly. As Jerome wandered back to the kitchen door, she handed him a mug of coco. "I'll do it, but it means you owe me huge favour whenever I want to cash it in." was all she said to the delight of the boy. "we start small, and we can argue it started with the fake dating we did for the Lewis's befit." With that Jerome and Camilla were officially fake dating, god help whatever was going to happen because of it.
