Chapter 51: Xehanort's Legacy Pt 3
Drake is channeling his energy into the Keystones to open a gate to sense the massive power of the Esper as it begins to be awakened. "Soon, it will be over," Drake said as he sees his three guardians protecting the castle with the five going into the inner grounds to be greeted by Ophelia.
"Very impressive but this ends here," she said to wield her Keyblade Spellbinder with two Espers in the background. There is a giant white furred wolf as big as a mountain and a massive serpent like dragon hovering in the air with his several long pairs of wings on the sides of his extremely long body.
"Wow, these things are huge," Sora looking shocked by their sheer size of the Esper.
"No kidding," Riku said dryly to see Midgardsormr's head along is longer than the Hollow Bastion castle and his long body coil around the castle many times over.
"What is the plan?" Terra asked.
"I will fight the world serpent, Sora, Kairi and Riku will fight Ophelia and you will face Fenrir Terra," Umiko said.
"So Ragnarök is so close to beginning. I am one of the three Guardians. Hel, goddess of death. I will be his agent and help my master reboot this world," Ophelia said for the battle begins with the trio fighting off the corrupt Keyblade Master Ophelia now causing herself Hel.
Hel summons his Keyblade Spellbinder as the Lich Magicite is powering up her. She is getting in combat position with Sota, Kairi and Riku wielding their weapons while in their powered up states. Hel's body is covered with darkness erupting with power.
"Why did you join up with Drake?" Riku questioned as their unleash their attacks for Hel is blocking and dodging with ease. She counterattacks with waves of explosive bubbles to pepper the ground to knock them all away.
"I had nothing, my family and everyone around me wanted nothing to do with me. I was worthless but Drake gave me a purpose to help him change the worlds and make it better," she casts Break on Riku turning him into a stone statue. "It's just between me and you two lovebirds," Hel swarms many Dark Firaga spells lobbing them towards the duo.
Sora evades with Kairi using Reflega to deflect the dark fireballs back. Sora moves to slash at her with his Speed State using his twin punching daggers. The dark Keyblade Master blocks and shoves Sora away with an Aeroza spell to feel his body get rip apart by the many sharp winds.
Hel pounds the ground unleashing strong energy waves knocking Sora further away with Kairi casting Prism Rain shooting volleys of rainbow colored energy rays homing for Hel.
Hel creates a barrier of darkness blocking her assault as she shoots a concussive blast hitting Kairi right in the left breast making Kairi breathless. "Damn it cheap shot," Kairi snapped at Hel for she cups her chest feeling very sore.
"They make good big targets, I should know," Hel joked as she crosses blades with Sora. Hel upper cutting him but Sora back flips to dash at her slashing her across the chest damaging her gown.
Sora thrusts at her as Hel deflects the blades away and kicks him in the face making him flinch. Sora recovers fast and tosses his dual blades towards the fallen Keybearer. Kairi casts Bind snapping Hel in place getting hit by the dual blades as Kairi fires a Triple Firaga scoring all three hits.
Hel gets seriously burns for her to lunge at Kairi with dark tornados going towards the Mage. Kairi uses a Barrier to block the incoming magic attacks but Hel kicks her in the gut sending her flying into a large rock hurting her back.
Hel tries to thrust her sword into his chest but Sora blocks her attack bashing his Keyblades into her body. He leashes out powerful X shaped energy beams pushing Hel backwards. Sora transforms into his Power State to stomp onto the ground creating pillars of fire slamming into Hel knocking her into a rocky wall.
Hel focuses dark energy into her blade and slice through a fire pillar. "You think you can do that, look at this," Hel shows them a cracked Magicite as Kairi does not like this.
"Hel, don't be foolish. If you force it, you will regret it," Kairi warned him as Hel dismisses her warnings.
"Shut up, with this I'll use the full power of a dead Esper I command," Hel's cracked Magicite is glowing bright as the power surges through her body overwhelming her senses. "Can you feel its power, do you fear it?" she taunted for the aura of darkness is engulfing her.
Kairi has a look of horror to see Hel's body is becoming transformed into a real Lich for the power is corroding her body beginning to misshapen until her once beautiful body is now a living rotting corpse.
"What the hell is going on?" Hel shouting in pain as her spell with Riku has been broken for he saw the whole fight.
"You are too weak to wield a Magicite. Its cracked and the power can't be controlled; it will take over your body and eat away at it," Riku said as Hel's body is being corrupted by the crystal as Riku casts multiple Firaga turning them into a twister of fiery death engulfing Hel in its blazing ferocity.
"Take this," Sora is in Mage State as he casts Quaga summoning spikes of stone to impale the Dark Keybearer's body with blood leaking down the stone with Kairi charging up for her next spell.
"Mega Flare," Kairi fires a big flaming ball at Hel for she gets caught in a massive explosion. Hel's power cancel out the explosion with a shockwave as she transforms her Keyblade into a scythe.
"You can stop," Sora said as Hel has a smirk on her decaying face with her eyes blazing yellow like warm acid dripping into her mouth and words.
"I will not stop. I don't care this kills me, Drake means everything to me. Everything!" Hel for she uses her magic to create plant life around her to brighten up the dead wasteland with greens and purples. "You will drown in the petals of nothingness soon enough," Hel twists around her weapon as thorn filled vines erupting from the ground leashing out on the three.
Kairi casts Firaga burning away a few vines with Riku slicing through plants with his twin blades. Sora unleashes blades of wind into vines to rip them apart but a few got through knocking them around with the dark Keybearer slashing at Riku.
Riku blocks her strikes as Hel hits him the face with the back of her scythe. Kairi casts Bind holding the powerful Keyblade Master down as Riku and Sora rapidly dashing at her slashing as they pass by.
Hel backs away and swings her scythe unleashing waves of darkness fused pedals. "Get near me," Kairi said as she casts Reflega with everyone inside shielding them from the potent attacks.
While they are inside, Riku starts barraging Hel with lightning bolts coming down on her. Hel encases herself in a sphere of harden vines made of darkness and bark as Riku begins to wear down the barrier.
The barrier collapses with no sight of Hel as she appears behind them summons a giant tree under them making Kairi stop her magic barrier slamming into them. Hel swiftly slashes at Sora and releasing an energy crescent cutting into Sora's stomach wounding his side making him bleed.
"Lethal Frame," Hel stops time to freeze Sora in place as she hit him several times to be behind them. She snaps her fingers for Sora's body explodes with pain at once to crash onto the ground.
"Sora, are you okay?" Kairi asked as a whip like vine hits her across the face launching her into a tree. Riku gets trap inside a flower bud for it to explode with violent dark energy as Hel rapidly slashes at Riku blasting him with a whirlwind of razor sharp petals. Riku is getting forced by back with his body getting cut by the petals.
"Enough of this," Riku powers up with his body engulf in a bright purple aura as Riku shoots waves of fireballs to overwhelm the torrent of petals. He slashes through incoming vines burning through them quite easily.
Kairi is near Sora seeing his wounds is quite bad, "Curaza," she tips her Keyblade onto his injury for a green light engulfs him being completely healed of his wound.
"Thanks; Kairi," Sora said as Riku is dueling with the female master blocking and evading her swings burning away her precious planet life.
"Time to unleash Mother Nature's wraith," Hel slams her weapon onto the ground unleashing hordes of plants to cover the entire area becoming a large garden with Venus flytraps spitting yellow liquid into Riku's body stunning him in place. Hel relentlessly slashes Riku's body until she releases powerful shockwaves blowing the silver haired youth away.
"She is very powerful," Kairi said to see her blocking Riku's attacks and then blast him several times with dark energy beams.
"You are telling me, let's help Riku," Sora said as Kairi nods her head in agreement as the duo rejoins the battle with Riku defending against Hel's attacks and evading the stun bubbles.
Riku and Sora crossing blades with the raven haired swordswoman with Kairi flying over the field of battle starting to plant her lightning spikes around the battlefield encircling the three combatants.
Both Sora and Riku cast Ice Barrage and Quaga at the same time. They are letting out powerful spells with spikes of ice and earth destroy sections of the gardens as Hel leaps away from the spells.
She summons more vines out of the garden grabbing onto the Keybearers throwing out of the range of Kairi's circle. "Perfect, Thunder Torrent," Kairi channels electricity through the eight magical spikes surrounding Hel getting caught in a big maelstrom of lightning tearing up Hel. "Time to take out this woman down," Kairi ends the spell with one last lightning bolt unleashing a horrible explosion that rocked the whole area.
Hel is badly shocked with Riku performs a furious string of strong blows hitting Hel and then slams into her releasing a burst of energy to cause grave damage.
Hel suffers multiple broken ribs and lots of blood escaping her body as Riku's and Sora's vicious attacks forcing her up. "Damn it, this is making me weaker. Is it because this Magicite is cracked and I can't use it to its fullest," she thought as she is on her last legs.
Kairi uses Zero Graviga lifting the wounded master up inside an energy sphere as three of them prepare to end this fight.
All three dashes through her for Hel's body explodes with blood scatter everywhere for her scythe disappears in a flash of petals. "No, how can this be," she said in disbelieve of her defeat as she falls onto the ground for she is in her own pool of blood.
"Its over Ophelia, give up," Sora said.
"You must be so naïve; I will never betray Drake unlike his sister who went out to find her own way. You know she and him are more alike then you think," Ophelia said as this made Kairi upset by this.
"She is nothing like Drake," Kairi said as the older woman laughs at the young girl.
"You are a fool; we all play in Drake and Umiko game. I know what Drake's plans are, do you know want Umiko wants," Ophelia said as she coughs up blood onto the ground.
"What are you talking about?" Riku asked.
"Oh, you don't know do you, all of Umiko's sins and all the previous students disappearing under her watch. You barely know her but we know her for years. Both her and Drake want the same thing but Umiko wants another way to change the worlds back to normal," Ophelia look oddly at peace despite her grave wounds. "Drake honors loyalty and Umiko thinks for herself," she said as she disappears into a pillar of energy for her heart flies towards Hollow Bastion.
"What is she talking about?" Kairi asked feeling worried about her words.
"Come on, she is lying. Like we can believe here," Sora acting dismissive of her words but Riku takes them to heart.
"We don't know about her past fully, I need to talk to her after this is over. Getting everything off her chest," Riku thought as Drake looks upon Ophelia's heart floating to his window to hold it in his hands.
"Master, I am sorry," Ophelia said.
"Its okay, you did your best. Ragnarök is close to being summoned anyway. Merge with my heart and your power will aid me against my sister," he said as she harbors her heart within his own.
"I will gladly be with you to the final end," Ophelia's heart merges with him for he felt new power flowing through him.
"Let's see how this drama plays out," Drake said to look outside to Terra fighting the giant wolf Fenrir as she is in her Esper form to fly away from its huge claws.
"So, the Esper hybrid has come to meet me in my presence," Fenrir lets out a powerful howl that shakes the barren world.
"Fenrir, why help Drake like that?" Terra is dodging his paws as she is blasting him with fireballs onto his large head. "Flare," she lobs an explosive orb of fire for the massive beast knocks its away with his claw.
"He is the only doing what it takes to save the worlds from their own destruction. They were once one but you mortals ruined everything that the goddess set up for you. You were given the ultimate light Kingdom Hearts and you fight over it in your Keyblade War for greed and pride," Fenrir said as he stomps onto the ground to unleash towers of icy winds to surround him.
Terra sees several pillars of ice storm towards her as she puts up a barrier to block it. "Syphon Sphere," she powers up her barrier to absorb the incoming attack. "Firaza," Terra unleash a huge fireball to slam into the beast to send it flying into a rocky wall.
He uses his back legs to press against the wall to launch at Terra. "Arctic Beast," he tackles her and lets out an even stronger shoulder tackle to recoil Terra across the field. She bounce off the ground but she regain her balance to get her footing. She blocks a blast of ice with a magic barrier.
"You can't pin this on everyone," Terra said as she is blocking more ice blast with her magic shields but Fenrir manage to break her shield to trap her in a block of ice.
"Really, the Foretellers' unions were nothing more than child armies to be used by their masters' whims. Claiming they fight for the light but doing it for their own self-interest, dooming everything in the process. No one batted it eye when they use us Espers as weapons of war in their pitiful Keyblade War," Fenrir said with deep bitterness as he made the block of ice explode dealing a lot of damage to Terra.
"That is true that mortals use us as weapons and mortals do hide their true intentions but I know that people are not all bad. You are blinded by hate," Terra said as she summons a big pillar of fire underneath he large wolf to launch it into the air. She lets out a swarm of large fireballs to pound into the beast to push it further with each hit. "Meltdown," Terra gathers flames into both her palms and unleashing a huge orb of flames to strike Fenrir for a giant explosion shaken the whole area.
Swiftly Fenrir use a shockwave to blow away the debris as he lands onto the ground to create a field of ice. Multiple spikes of ice to tower onto the battlefield as Terra is flying way from the incoming pillars from the frozen ground. "You are blinded by naivety," he lets all the pillars of ice exploding to knock Terra around to fall onto the icy floor.
"You are wrong, I have faith that mortals and Esper can work in peace. Me and my friends is proof of that," Terra said to stand on her feet to see Fenrir powers up his jaws to use his powerful attack.
"Icy Pulse," Fenrir fires a large beam of ice and Terra using her Meltdown for the two moves collide for they are emitting waves of energy from their clash. Terra is pushing more energy into the orb as its gaining more ground with Fenrir looking surprised by this. "This surge of power," he thought as Terra's magic is overpowering his own.
"This is the end," Terra said as she gives one final push as her Meltdown breaks through his attack and hits its mark. Fenrir is engulfed with flames as the explosion melted the white ice field back to normal.
There is nothing but his Magicite left on the ground for Terra takes the magic stone to absorb his power into herself. She feels the power flowing into her body as her magical power increase tremendously.
"What a rush, I feel more powerful than before. I can sense the Lich's Magicite where Riku and others were fighting Hel," Terra flies over to Riku and the others.
Elsewhere Umiko is on top of a cliff to dodging incoming beam of energy from the giant serpent dragon. "So why do you fight elf woman?" the massive dragon said in a deep bellow from its maws as Umiko prepares for her summoning spell.
"Make a better world, Bahamut I summon thee. Come to my aid," Umiko said as a large magic circle is in the sky for a large dragon flies out of it.
"That is funny, Drake says otherwise that you and he share the same dream but different methods," Midgardsormr said as Umiko leaps onto dragon with Bahamut is evading incoming energy beams and twisters of winds.
"Flare Shot," Bahamut launches an orb of flames to slam onto the side of the Esper to do some damage.
"Oh, that felt like a bug bite, Terrible Maelstrom," the huge dragon conjures a towering twister for it push the two back into a stone wall.
"He is too big to deal with normally, Wind Sickle," Bahamut flips his powerful wings to unleash lots of wind based crescents to crave onto the side of the huge dragon.
"I have an idea, keep him distracted while I set up the spell," Umiko said as the black dragon nods his head to dodge incoming projectiles and spells.
"You got you," Bahamut bats away a fireball with hi wing as she is firing a magic spike onto the massive serpent dragon.
"I have my reasons to do what I am doing," the dark elf said as she is firing more magic spikes into his scales which seem to do no damage at all. She is talking with the Esper to distract him.
"I doubt that, your reasons seem to be based on blind pride and shame from past. You are so driven to end suffering, that you will be the cause of it," Midgardsormr said as he fires beams of eyes from his eyes to hit Bahamut for they were too fast to evade.
"You don't know me," Umiko said as she is almost done setting up the spell with the last magic spikes being placed.
"Oh, I do, I know your type. Very self-righteous and thinking you are above others due to your own 'pure' goals. I think its pure trash and you are haunted by your dark past," Midgardsormr taunting her as this bothers the Keyblade Master.
"Shut up," Umiko said as this proves Midgardsormr's point from before. Bahamut is firing Mega Flares to harm the Esper slightly but still not taking any real damage.
"Why do you fight for her Bahamut, you are better than that," Midgardsormr said.
"Umiko's vision of the future matches the best for everyone. I believe in her drive to bring the worlds back to one like in the ages of fairy tales," Bahamut said.
"Well both her and Drake want the same time but her vision is one of delusions and she will drag all you down like her students before her," Midgardsormr said.
"There loss will not be in vain," Bahamut said as the giant laughs at this.
"They are already in vain with her mere action. Drake can see through her as I do as well. You know the truth of what Umiko really wants to do, so you have no right to feel morally superior. I don't want to play around anymore, Abyssal Maw," he traps the two into a pillar of gravity for the huge pressure is tearing into their bodies. "Ultima Beam," he opens his huge mouth to see a ball of pure magical energy inside as he fires a potent beam of magic as it hits both Umiko and Bahamut full force to launch him onto the side of the cliff.
They are engulfed in a huge explosion with rocks piling on top of them. Umiko and Bahamut got out of the rubble with Umiko looking quite happy with a smile on her face.
"What the hell are you smiling about?" Midgardsormr questioned.
"Deep Freeze," Umiko's magic spike activates for they spread lots frost onto the massive dragon's body as the Esper is quite shocked by this.
"Damn it," he is quickly turning to ice until he is frozen solid.
"Finish him. Use Giga Flare," Umiko ordered as Bahamut rises to his feet to take flight to see the frozen body of Midgardsormr falling towards the wasteland below. Bahamut puts all his energy into his mouth and release an energy orb as big as Midgardsormr's head. The orb strikes down the Esper to violent burst to scatter the world serpent into red icy pieces to return him to his Magicite crystal lying on the ground. "Good work Bahamut," she said to pat his leg.
"I am at your service Umiko," the dragon disappears to return to his Magicite on Umiko's hand.
Terra flies to Umiko still in her Esper form with the trio behind her. "Umiko, you manage to beat Midgardsormr," she said to pick up his Magicite.
"Yes, with some tactics. I manage to win our battle with Bahamut's help of course," Umiko said as she notice Terra having Fenrir's and Midgardsormr's Magicite in her furry clawed hands.
"Well Drake is the only one left. Let's go," Riku said as the five head inside Hollow Bastion with Drake watching them from his window.
"So just you and I left, sister. Despite what happens here. Those will regret joining you once your secret is revealed to him. It will be funny regrades if I die or not, they will have the last laugh," Drake said as he prepares for the final battle for the fate of all worlds.
