Regina was in her second trimester and feeling great. . She was spending more time at work. Which Robin greatly protested. Regina insisted on working as much as she could so she can have a long maternity leave.
Regina was working at her desk . She was tired, but knew if she didn't get her work done she would be behind. As she is working Robin walks in.
" Well there you are. We were supposed to meet for lunch today."
" Oh Robin I'm sorry i was busy."
" I can tell ." Robin walks over behind Regina's desk and wraps his arms around her. " Why don't you finish here and you can come home."
" Robin I cant I have to finish ."
" Regina its the third day this week you worked late. You need to come home so you can rest. "
" I do rest Robin."
" When? Regina I don't want you working late again I am putting my foot down."
" Robin .." before she can say another word Robin walks next to her and kneels down . he puts his hands on her bump"
" Now I know you cant be having much fun. Daddy wants mommy to come home . I want you and mommy to relax and let me give her a massage . Tell mommy you want to go home." Robin moves his hands around her belly until he feels the baby kick and kisses the spot where shes kicking."
" Now thats not fair "
" Thats Daddy's girl. I think our daughter wants you home . Are you going to say no to her." Robin looks at Regina with puppy eyes.
"Alright you win I'll come home ." Regina says getting up getting ready to leave . Robin smirking as she does.
They get home and resting wasn't an easy task for Regina not with her job. She wanted to spend time with her family but knew the more behind she became the longer it would take her to catch up.
Regina made sure that Robin was asleep and snuck down to her home office to catch up on some work. She worked well into the night even falling asleep at her desk. She woke up the next morning and noticed she slept in. She went to her room to change and was relieved to see Robin was still sleeping as it was his day off.
Regina went off to work and sat at her desk. She stopped for a minute when she felt her baby kicking. She moved her hand and gently massaged her bump to sooth her baby girl.
" I know sweetheart well be done soon. "
Cora hadn't heard from her daughter for a few weeks now. Things were still tense between them but she wanted to make things right. She walked in to her office and rushed over when she caught her asleep at her desk.
" Regina... Regina wake up." Cora said gently shaking her shoulders
" Mother what are you doing here? "
" I came to see you and I can see i was right to come."
" Mother I'm fine I just fell asleep at my desk ."
" Regina your pregnant you should be resting."
" You constantly worked when you had us. "
" Thats not the point Regina your my daughter . If you get your things I'll drive you home."
"Mother I cant write now."
" You can and you will. Don't argue with me Regina. I've got all day i'll stand here all day."
She was wasting her time arguing. She knew her mother would be true to her word . As she prepared to leave when she got up from her desk the room became dizzy.
" Regina are you alright?"
" I mhmm I'm " Regina tries to speak but the room is spinning. She faints but her mother catches her.
" Regina Oh my Regina ." Cora says gently taping her face. She gently laid her down to call for Zelena.
As soon Zelena got there they took her to the emergency room. They phoned Robin who came right away. Robin parked and ran right inside.
" Robin"
" Zelena how is she what happened?"
" Shes fine the baby and her are both fine. Regina was a little dehydrated but they are giving her fluids. They will keep her over night but she should be home tomorrow.
After hearing that Robin went right into Regina's room. He walked toward her and saw her sleeping peacefully. He walked next to her and pulled a chair over. He held her hand and kissed the top of her head. He sat in the chair and smiled when Regina woke up.
" Robin oh Robin I'm sorry."
" Shhh don't worry about that now. You both are fine thats all that matters."
" I woke up when they brought me here I was so scared I thought I lost her."
" Well she isn't going anywhere not for another 4 months anyway. She is right here dancing inside." Robin says moving his hand on her bump.
" Robin I did decide something. I cant go on like this. Working so late and so often its not good for me or the baby. I miss so much working and its not fair to the kids. Robin I want to quit I want to quit being the mayor. "
" Are you sure you just don't want to take a early leave? Regina you love your job."
" But I love our family more."
The next morning Regina packing getting ready to go home when Cora walks in.
" I hope I'm not intruding. Where is your husband?"
" He went to sign the release papers. Mother I'm glad your here actually. I wanted to thank you for getting me here so quickly yesterday."
" Of course dear How are you feeling now?"
" Relieved I was so scared I could have lost her."
" We would never let that happen. "
" Robin already knows this but I am handing in my resignation as mayor . I need to be with my family and take care of myself."
Cora wanted to scream and convince her daughter to be the mayor but knew now wasnt the time. Robin walks in to wheel Regina out.
" Your chariot my queen."
" Robin I can walk."
" No you are not to lift a finger at home. You are going home to rest."
Regina couldn't help but smile at Robin she was so l lucky to have a caring man like Robin.
