This is only a peek at the ending that I have in mind. Not all of the final details are given here, and -once you read it, it will be obvious- the actual final ending is not yet revealed. But I do want to show this much and ask, please, leave a review on this chapter.
What you are about to read will take place several years after the chapters that I have already written. Link and Zelda are young adults now (say 18-21, you pick). The only other detail that I will give you is that the ruined Temple of Time (read my earlier chapters) has been rebuilt by Agahnim as "The Temple of Darkness" for obvious reasons.

The battle grew more desperate as the blood moon rose higher and higher into the sky. The knights hacked and slashed with all of their fury, but Agahnim's forces seemed to be limitless and gave no ground. Tremors began to ripple out from the Temple of Darkness as the ritual inside neared completion. Flashes of lightning streaked across the sky, throwing the shattered landscape into an eerie mixture of light and dark. Then, Link suddenly felt it. In his heart, he could feel Zelda crying out to him. Her voice trembled with terror and her soul was becoming weak... she was dying. The shadow was growing around her, and drawing her into it. Panic began to flood Link's mind... he could not get to her! The enemy was too strong.
Agahnim mercilessly slashed at Zelda's wrists with the bone-handled knife. Searing pain was followed by the warm rush of blood running down her hands. As Zelda watched her own lifeblood slowly pour out onto the table, she could see the acolytes place two onyx jars below her. The blood ran through thin channels cut into the table and down through small holes to the jars. The wizard laid the bloody knife on Zelda's bare abdomen and rested his hands on the table before him. Slowly, reverently, Agahnim began to summon his master: "Come, Lord of Darkness... Come to us, your faithful!" Zelda struggled against her restraints, she knew if she could not stop him, all hope for life would be lost in Hyrule. "Come! Rightful master of creation! Come! Drink deep of this maiden's life!" Agahnim slowly raised his hands above his shoulders and began to channel his power into the Door of Time. Tears streamed down Zelda's cheeks, "Link! Help me! Please!" she plead as she desperately worked to free herself. "Oh Lord of Darkness!" cried Agahnim, his eyes blazing with a bright orange glow, "By this sacrifice, you shall be reborn into this world of light! Come my lord!" Zelda's limbs became weaker and her body grew cold. Her vision began to blur and Agahnim's chant warped and warbled around the room. The princess' skin became very pale and the flow of blood ran slower. As her mind slipped toward unconsciousness, she reached out one last time to her knight, "Link... my love... help me..."
The Temple of Darkness began to rumble and shake as the Door of Time slowly drew wider. Agahnim's eyes widened with exhilaration, "With the blood of Hylia the Fallen, arise! With the soul of the virgin princess, arise! By the power of the Golden Goddesses, arise! As it was in the beginning, so shall it be once more! RETURN NOW! DEMISE! GOD OF DARKNESS AND DEATH! ARISE!" Zelda's body became limp and her breath slowly left her. The braziers on either side of the Door of Time suddenly burst into bright flame and the torches along the walls sparked to life. The acolytes quickly lifted the jars of sacred blood, and carefully poured their contents in a wide circle around the Door of Time. "Yes... YES!" screamed Agahnim, "IT IS DONE! COME TO US MY LORD! THE WAY IS NOW OPEN!" The earth rocked violently and lightning shattered the spires of the temple as the Door of Time grew to its widest point and swirled chaotically.
A sudden, and brilliant white light burst into the chamber as the doors to the Temple were blown off of their hinges and thrown to the floor. Agahnim and his acolytes turned, only to be blinded by the blazing white-hot light which entered their temple. Link stood in the doorway, covered in many bloody wounds, but strong and tall, holding the Master Sword above his head. The remaining Knight of Hylia were gathered behind him, swords and shields ready to defend their Princess. Agahnim attempted to shield his eyes with his hands, but the light seemed to flood every corner of the room. "FOR THE GODDESS!" roared Link as he and the knights charged into the temple. The sword's light grew more powerful still, until the acolytes of darkness burst into flame and disintegrated before them. Agahnim struggled with all his might against its power, but his robes smoldered and caught fire. With one leap, Link stood atop the sacrificial table and raised the sword to strike; his knights quickly encircling the table and the wizard. Ignoring the others, Agahnim threw all of his power and struck Link squarely in the chest with his lightning. The hero bent backward and cried out in pain, but set his teeth and glared down into Agahnim's eyes. Grasping the Master Sword with both hands, he drove the point of its blade down through the wizard's chest and into his wicked heart. Agahnim's eyes flashed open in terror as his lightning failed and his body disintegrated.
The Master Sword slowly dimmed, until only the light of the torches illuminated the chamber. Link's chest was badly burned and felt heavy, making breathing very difficult. But the exhilaration of what had been done... what they had accomplished, thundered away inside him. Slowly, he turned his eyes toward Zelda. She lay snow-white and motionless on the table below him. Terror suddenly grabbed at him as he let the Master Sword slip from his hand and clatter onto the floor. "No... No no no no no!" he cried as he swiftly leapt down, and tore at Zelda's bonds. "No... please... Zelda!" he begged as tears formed in the corners of his eyes. He quickly lifted her from the table and held her body close. She was very cold and her head, arms, and legs dangled limp as he moved her. Broken, ruined, and utterly shattered, Link sank to the floor holding his beloved's body in his arms. "Noooooo..." he moaned into her beautiful hair as he pressed his head against hers. "Don't go..."
The Knights of Hylia slowly set their weapons onto the floor of the temple and knelt with their heads bowed. They had failed her... the kingdom was now lost forever... evil had won. Link began to rock back and forth, gently cradling Zelda as misery filled his heart. It was over... he had lost her... he wanted to die. A small voice, far in the back of his mind, reminded Link of that time, so many months ago... It was the only chance. He gently pressed his forehead against hers, and closed his eyes. In his heart, he reached out and called to her.
Hear me, my goddess
the shadow has passed, and the dawn has come
your knight is beside you,
wake my love, and let me look into your eyes once more
He reached deep within her, but she was dark and empty. He strained with everything, even his very soul and pleaded with her to find him: "Zelda... my love... I am here..." Several minutes passed in silence as Alfon now stepped behind Link. His heart was broken, he could not stand to see his ward in this much pain. Slowly, he reached down and grasped Link's shoulder, "Son..." he began, but Link suddenly gasped and tightened his arms around her. Something... he had grasped something within her. It pulled at him and threatened to draw him deeper into the darkness. With his right arm, he cradled Zelda and held her close to him. With his left hand, he reached out and gripped the Master Sword once more.
My Goddess,
My Queen,
My Love,
I am here
Take of my life, and come back to me
Please...
With a shudder and a sudden, desperate gasp for air, Zelda's eyes burst open. Throwing her arms around Link, she shook violently and sobbed into his shoulder. "Shh... It's alright... I am here." he soothed into her ear as he struggled to remain conscious. The knights were astonished by what they had seen. All wept with joy and gave thanks to the Goddesses for Zelda's return. Slowly, her hands still trembling, Zelda leaned back from Link and cradled his face in her hands. Looked into his eyes, she whispered, "I... am here... My Lord... at your side." as a weak smile broke over her face. Together, they wrapped their arms around each other, and kissed.
Alfon, gently lifted Zelda into his arms, as the other knights helped Link to his feet. Tears and cries of joy filled the room as all basked in the wonder of the Princess' return; when the distant echo of thunder came from the Door of Time. Turning to the swirling mass of darkness, none were prepared for what they saw: A large green claw, slowly pushing its way into the World of Light.
