Chapter 1

"It's me, Theodore "The Beaver" Cleaver. Except for a short time when I was married, I've always lived in Mayfield. Times sure have changed. My son, Oliver lives in Upstate New York with his wife and two daughters. My oldest son, Kipp also still lives in Mayfield, now divorced. Kip's son, my grandson, Kyle, is 26-years-old and also lives in Mayfield with his two children, my great-grandchildren, 10-year-old Kevin and 7-year-old Kylie. I'm still living in my childhood home, which I inherited when my mother passed away. This is the story of "The Cleavers".

Kyle sat at a booth at the diner eating a hamburger and fries. Olivia, the young waitress who worked there, walked over to him.

"How's our best customer?" Olivia asked, smiling.

"I'm great," Kyle replied, smiling.

Olivia handed Kyle his check.

"Here's your check for when you're ready," Olivia said.

"Thanks, Olivia," Kyle said.

Olivia walked to a table where Freddie sat.

"Could you make it anymore obvious?" Freddie asked.

"Make what more obvious?" Olivia asked.

"You like Kyle Cleaver," Freddie said.

"I do not," Olivia said.

Freddie looked at Olivia.

"Okay," Olivia said. "Maybe I have kind of, sort of had a crush on him since high school."

"Why don't you ask him out?" Freddie asked.

"What if he rejects me?" Olivia asked.

"You'll never know unless you ask," Freddie replied.

Olivia took a deep breath and began walking towards Kyle. At that moment, another young woman, wearing a black, spaghetti strapped dress walked into the diner and over to Kyle.

"Kyle?" the young woman asked. "Kyle Cleaver?"

"Camille Rutherford?" Kyle asked.

Kyle stood up and he and Camille shared a hug.

"It's so nice to see you," Kyle said. "What are you doing here?"

"I decided to move my fashion empire to Mayfield," Camille replied. "I'm in love with New York City, but I really missed my home town."

"Well," Kyle said. "It's nice to have you back."

"How are your kids doing?" Camille asked.

"They're doing great," Kyle replied "They're 10 and 7 now."

"What a cute age," Camille said. "So are you seeing anyone?"

"No," Kyle replied. "I'm single."

"Why don't you take me out to dinner tonight?" Camille asked.

"Okay," Kyle replied. "How about pizza?"

"Sushi," Camille said.

"Okay," Kyle said. "I'll pick you up at 8:00."

"7:30," Camille said.

"Okay," Kyle said.

"And wear something nice," Camille said.

Olivia sadly walked out of the diner.
