Spinel Shenanigans

Hello Steven Universe fandom :) My name is LuffyGirl and I'm here with my first story for said fandom. I'll get to the point and say that I've only written a few stories for this fandom and yes, they're all about Spinel as I wrote them a couple weeks after the movie debuted. However, all the stories are posted on my Steven Universe blog but I won't mention what it is unless you happen to find it.
Whether the other stories will be posted up here I still haven't decided (but let's be real they might possibly not) as I know how this fandom is. This one is extremely lucky to see the light of day on here. I'm still a little nervous about posting this here but I truly hope this fandom is more welcoming than another one I tried writing for.
Whether you see this story as a one-shot/drabble/AU or something else, is up to you. Just know that I always write my stories all for fun and I always try my best no matter what kind of genre it is. I just wanted to write something fun and silly (plus I decided to publish this today cuz I feel like we could use something enlightening) so please don't expect anything special or eventful.
This is NOT written in 'Rebecca Sugar' style. I can write for any fandom and keep my own style and make it work. So if you don't like the stories or how I write them, just simply do not read them.
Please don't be too mean if I did something wrong or if there are any typos, ooc-ness and/or inaccuracies. I did look up a few things but I'm not constantly going to go back and forth checking for every single thing/detail. That's the point of this being FanFiction. So if you don't like that, again, do not read this.
Any story I write will be treated the same way I write my One Piece stories. I don't change my writing style for any fandom.

Summary: A certain someone tries to get their phone and mallet back from Spinel much to her annoyance so she tries to get rid of him. She also tries to hide something.

Spinel was bored. Right now she was just watching t.v while waiting for Steven to return from Little Homeworld. He offered for her to go with him but Spinel wasn't sure if the gems there would want to see her a lot due to the damage she caused before. Sure, time has passed but she had a feeling some of them still held a small grudge against her. Plus, she wanted to prove that she could handle being alone for a while.
So Spinel currently sat on a bean bag chair while watching t.v and eating donuts (that were definitely NOT stolen this time).
She then jumped from the comfy chair and almost dropped her donuts when she heard a strange noise and looked around.
Not hearing it again, Spinel sat back down and continued watching t.v and eating.
About a minute later, she heard the noise again and jumped slightly but not off the seat.
Hearing the noise once more, Spinel recognized it as the 'doorbell' as Steven told her. To her, the concept was still strange as there was no bell on the door. Just a button that made a sound which meant someone was there.
Spinel heard the 'doorbell' sound multiple more times and got annoyed.
"Alright, I'm coming!"
She stretched her way to the door and saw who it was through the window screen.
'What's he doing here?' Spinel thought looking at the person now a little more annoyed. She opened the door. "What?" She asked uninterested.
"Hey, um… I was wondering if I could have my mallet back? And my phone?" Ronaldo asked nervously since he was scared from last time.
"No." Spinel answered as she closed the door.
"Oh, come on! What use could a space rock have for a phone?!"
Spinel felt a little offended being called a space rock but wasn't planning on returning either of those things to Ronaldo.
"What if I trade you something for the phone?" Ronaldo asked pressing his face against the screen. He had a feeling getting the mallet back would be harder than the phone so he decided to try for the phone first.
"What does a weirdo like you have to offer?"
"Anything you want! Money, food! I'll give you my blood!"
Spinel was now weirded out when Ronaldo said that and began to leave. "Be gone organic human, I have no time for you."
"No~! I need my pho~ne! How am I supposed to keep up with the followers on my blogs?!" Ronaldo cried dramatically. Sure, he could use his laptop but it was much harder to find wi-fi for that than a phone.
Spinel just rolled her eyes and grabbed the rest of her donuts.
Seeing this, Ronaldo thought of something. "Wait, you like donuts right? What if I buy you some donuts and you can give me my phone back?"
Spinel then stretched her way back to the door and opened it which surprised Ronaldo. "I just LOOOVE donuts! You'd really buy some for little ol' me?" She asked sweetly.
"Yes, however much you want! Just tell me and we can trade!"
"But I wouldn't want you to spend your money on me." Spinel said sweetly.
"I'll buy you two dozen donuts!"
"Two dozen?!"
"O.k, three dozen! Or four dozen since you seem to love them so much!"
"That's quite a lot of donuts! Are you sure five dozen isn't too much for you?" She asked sweetly hoping he wouldn't catch the number change.
Deep down Ronaldo had a feeling that Spinel was being too nice and reasonable (she practically made him jump out of his skin a few days ago) but he was desperate for his phone and mallet back. "If you give me my phone and the mallet, I'll get you six dozen donuts!"
Spinel gasped in surprise. "Six dozen?! I've never had anyone buy me so much before! O.k, you got yourself a trade!" She said with a wink.
"Yes! I'll be back as quick as I can!" Ronaldo said as he ran off quickly.
"Take your ti-i~me!" Spinel sang sweetly with a wave of her hand. Once Ronaldo was gone, she dropped her sweet façade and stood there with a bored expression. "That was way too easy."

Spinel looked at the time. 'Steven's been gone for a while. He said he wouldn't be too long-'
Her thoughts were interrupted when the 'doorbell' rang frantically and she practically jumped to the ceiling.
"I got the donuts! Let's trade!" Ronaldo said as he now banged on the door trying to get Spinel's attention as if he didn't already have it.
Spinel was annoyed yet again but stretched her way to the door and opened it. The first thing she noticed were the six donut boxes which were in a strange red transfer device with wheels.
"Wow, that's a lot of donuts!" She said in her sweet voice but had to admit that it was a LOT of donuts. "Is it o.k if you bring them inside?"
"Of course!" Ronaldo agreed easily as he brought the wagon inside.
"Now where did I put your phone?" Spinel said pretending to look around. She clearly knew it was inside her gem but of course Ronaldo didn't need to know that. That and she was actually afraid of what he would do if he found out if she could store stuff in her gem.
"Don't tell me you lost my phone!" Ronaldo said worried.
"O.k, I won't. But I know I left it somewhere… OH! I must've left it in Steven's-!"
"Here I come phone!" Ronaldo yelled as he ran to and up the stairs.
"Room." Spinel never saw a human move so fast. "Wait for me~!" She called playfully and stretched her way to Steven's room. When she got there, Ronaldo was already looking through stuff. "Ya know, it might just be on the warp pad. It's so pretty and I just couldn't resist taking a picture!"
"You used my phone?! Please tell me you didn't delete anything!"
"O.k, I didn't delete anything!" Spinel smiled sweetly.
Ronaldo ran his way over to the warp pad. "Where is it?! I don't see it!" He then went on the warp pad much to Spinel's delight.
"Keep looki~ng!"
Spinel went on the warp pad as well.
And activated it.
Next thing Ronaldo knew, he was surrounded by a bright light and was being lifted off the warp pad and flying through the air. He screamed the whole way until he landed somewhere ungracefully.
He groaned in pain and then sat up looking around. The first thing he noticed was that Spinel was no longer with him and he wasn't in Steven's room anymore.
Meanwhile, Spinel was very glad to FINALLY have gotten rid of Ronaldo. She then locked the warp pad from being used again. She knew Steven wouldn't come through here as he told her he would be walking back.
"Glad that's over." Spinel said to herself as she now stretched her way back downstairs. "Now what to do with these donuts…"
And whatever that red thing was.
…
Minutes later, Spinel was sitting in the red 'wagon' (she managed to look it up on Ronaldo's phone) and was riding down the stairs from Steven's room.
"Whee~~!"
The wagon then tipped over launching Spinel across the room and she tumbled twice before stopping in a sitting position.
…
"That was fun!"
Suddenly, Ronaldo's phone rang making Spinel jump. She looked at the phone which currently had some numbers on it. She didn't know what they mean but saw one green circle and one red circle.
She pressed the red one and the ringing stopped.
"Huh." Spinel just shrugged it off and placed the phone back down on the kitchen counter. She then stretched her arm and grabbed the wagon and brought it back to her. "This thing will be so much fun on that hill!"
Seconds later, the phone rang again. Spinel looked at it and saw the same numbers. She pressed the red button again and the ringing stopped. She then made her way to the door with the wagon wrapped around her arm when the phone rang yet again.
"Will you stop making that noise?!" She yelled stretching her neck to look at the phone seeing the same set of numbers once more. The phone kept ringing. "I said stop it!"
She then brought the rest of her body over and put down the wagon begrudgingly and then grabbed the phone. Maybe the green circle will make it be quiet?
She pressed the button.
"Just can it won'tcha?!"
Spinel was sure she heard a thud and an annoying familiar voice and then noticed she was actually able to see Ronaldo.
"YOU! GIVE ME MY PHONE AND MALLET OR ELSE I'LL-!"
"Give me my tablet back you clod!"
Spinel had no idea how she was able to see Ronaldo (and now Peridot) in the phone but found Peridot fighting Ronaldo for her tablet to be entertaining. The camera suddenly went blurry as Ronaldo ran from the small green gem and actually managed to find a place to hide.
"As I was saying…" Ronaldo said after he caught his breath and then looked at Spinel through the phone. "GIVE ME MY PHONE AND MALLET BACK OR ELSE I'LL-!"
"No, they're mine! You left your mallet unattended and you dropped your phone so I took it! Whatever is on the ground is fair game!"
"That's stealing!"
"Then just try and get them back." Spinel challenged with a smile.
"Is that a challenge?"
"Maybe."
"I'll get them back. You'll see. You'll all see! YOU'VE PROVOKED THE WRATH OF-!"
"There you are! Peridot, I found him!" Lapis said landing in front of Ronaldo making him scream.
The screen went blurry again as Ronaldo ran again and then Spinel saw something green jump on Ronaldo and they began fighting over the tablet.
Spinel was about to get some donuts and enjoy the show but Peridot quickly won her tablet back when she used her metal powers.
"Spinel, why on this planet have you sent this weird clod here?!" Peridot asked as Ronaldo was now being chased by Lapis in the background.
"He was supposed to end up at the garden." Spinel mumbled.
"What?"
"What?"
"What did you say?"
"Nothing. … Please don't tell Steven. By the way, where is Steven?"
"Fine, I won't. But you should or else this clod here will." Peridot said looking back to see Ronaldo cowering in the corner from Lapis. "Also, Steven left ten earth minutes ago."
"Oh, so he's going to be back soon!" Spinel smiled happily. She then gasped in realization. "He's going to be back soon!" She looked at the pile of boxes filled with donuts and then at the red wagon. "I gotta go! How do I hang up?!"
"Spinel, this isn't over!" Ronaldo yelled from the corner. "I WILL GET MY STUFF BACK YOU HEAR ME?! YOU'VE PROVOKED THE WRATH OF-!"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah I've heard! Now how do I turn this off?! I have to hide this stuff!"
"Just press the red button." Peridot informed. "Wait, what stu-"
Spinel pressed the button which made the phone hang up and when she was sure it wasn't going to ring again, she proceeded to think about what she was going to do with all the donuts.
She did have a lot of room in her gem but didn't want the donuts to go bad. Maybe she could hide them there for now and then- wait is that an extra box? Cool, that makes seven doz- Spinel shook her head. Focus!
"What was I thinking?! What will Steven say?! He might think I stole them!" She said now panicking. Just where could she hide all this aside from inside her gem?!
…
She looked at the closet.
No.
Not again.
Before she could think of anything else, Spinel heard her name being called. She quickly stretched her way to the window and carefully peaked out trying not to be seen.
It was Steven! And he was coming up the steps!
Seconds later…
"Hey, Spinel I'm back!" Steven called as he entered his home.
"Oh, Steven! How was Little Homeworld?" Spinel asked.
"It's doing great! I feel like there's more added every time I go there. Some of the gems asked for you by the way. So was everything o.k here?"
"They did? I mean, yeah, everything was A OH KAY!" Spinel said with a thumbs up. "Why do you ask?"
"Well… Never mind." Steven didn't want to bring up that topic. "By the way I stopped at The Big Donut. I figured the least I could do was get you something since you waited for a while." He said as he handed the boxes to her.
"You got… Two boxes of donuts."
"Yeah and I was also thinking we could play some board games-"
"NO!" Spinel said making Steven stop from opening the closet. "I mean… We could just… Watch t.v?"
"Hm… How about we play video games?" Steven suggested. "I can invite Amethyst."
"That sounds swell."
"Great! I'll call her over and get everything ready!" Steven said making his way to his room.
Spinel watched until she was sure he wouldn't come back down and then comically zoomed her way to the fridge and opened it. She thought of shoving them in their seconds before Steven came but it was too late. Spinel then took out all seven boxes from her gem and was going to shove them in the fridge when she realized there was no room.
Looks like she'll have to improvise.
Two hours later…
"Yo, I'm gonna grab another snack you guys want anything?" Amethyst asked as she stood up.
"No thanks, I got full off the donuts." Steven answered.
"I'm good." Spinel answered as well.
Amethyst went downstairs and then Spinel realized something.
She completely forgot about the donuts!
"I'll be right back!" She said as she stretched her way downstairs leaving Steven confused at her sudden leave.
By the time Spinel got downstairs, Amethyst was about to open the fridge until she appeared in front of her.
"Don't open that!" Spinel told her as she blocked the fridge.
"Whoa, dude!" Amethyst jumped. "Don't do that. And why not?"
"Because… It's empty!"
"Steven went shopping a few days ago. … Are you hiding something?"
"No!"
"O.k, if you say so." Amethyst stepped away and began heading towards the stairs.
'That was close.' Spinel thought as she began following Amethyst when suddenly a purple blur rolled past her.
"You can't fool me, I hide things all the time!" Amethyst said as she quickly opened the fridge.
"Wait!"
All the boxes of donuts came falling out the fridge which surprised Amethyst. "Whoa, where-?!"
"Please don't tell Steven!"
"Where did all these donuts come from?!"
"Please don't tell Steven!"
"Didn't he buy only two boxes?!"
"Please don't tell Steven!"
"Did you steal donuts again?!"
"Please don't tell- Wait, what? No!"
"Oh, Steve~n!"
"I didn't steal them! That weird Ronald-whatever-his-name-is guy bought them for me!"
"Hey, guys is everything-" Steven began but was interrupted by Amethyst who quickly went up to him before he could go down.
"Everything is fine. Spinel and I just decided to make you something special! We'll be up in a few minutes, buddy!" Amethyst lied casually.
"O.k then. I'll be setting up another game while I wait." Steven said and then went back to what he was doing.
Amethyst went back over to Spinel who was trying to fit the donuts wherever she could in the fridge. "Once you're done there, we have to make Steven something. Then later on, you can tell me the story."
Three hours later…
"So what's the story?" Amethyst asked Spinel as they walked around outside.
Spinel explained what went on earlier while Steven was at Little Homeworld and Amethyst couldn't help but laugh.
"Man, Ronaldo is so annoying." She laughed. "I'm actually glad you tried to send him to the garden. Now I know why he was on Little Homeworld, though."
"Wait, you knew?"
"I didn't know why he was there but I saw Peridot and Lapis chasing him. I was in the middle of a class so I ignored it. Like I said, Ronaldo is annoying. But now he's going to constantly bother you until he gets his stuff back."
"I'm not looking forward to it." Spinel said annoyed. "Maybe I should hit'em with the mallet."
Amethyst laughed again. "You know, I can get him off your shoulders for a while. Gonna cost you two boxes of donuts, though."
"Thanks, Amethyst. Although, I don't know why he would be on my shoulders but it's a deal. I love donuts but even I know seven dozen is just too many. And I really don't want anyone else to know about this."
The next day…
Spinel had no idea what Amethyst did to get rid of Ronaldo but it worked for almost three weeks until he finally decided to show up again.
Meanwhile, Pearl and Steven still had no idea what was going on (Garnet knew thanks to her future vision but decided not to get involved for now) and Spinel preferred to keep it that way.
I hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Even though this was written months ago, I did look it over and changed some stuff. I even added three extra pages so consider that as bonus content ;) The A/N's will be shorter if I post more in the future.
So~… I do kind of want to write more but I don't really know what. I find Ronaldo constantly trying to get his stuff back from Spinel pretty funny. Like Ronaldo will constantly come up with plans only for Spinel to outsmart him. (And all this happens while Steven isn't around or he just happens to not see anything and it's the same thing with everyone else except Amethyst, lol. And Garnet because of her Future Vision but she decides not to get involved for now)
