(I don't own ben 10 or Sharknado) (we wrote this because of the COVID-19 quarantine, I hope you enjoy it.)
It was just after Grandpa Max's funeral, Ben was sitting alone at Mr. Smoothy. Gwen, Kevin, and Rook come in, they sat next to Ben. "I think I'm going to go on a little vacation, maybe go on the old route that he took us on when we were 10." Ben said, gesturing to Gwen.
"We can go with you if you like." Gwen said. She was hoping to go with him to make sure he was ok.
Ben made eye contact with each of them in turn, they were all clearly concerned. Ben smiled, grateful for the support, and shook his head no. "No, I need to do this alone. Besides, if push comes to shove with my watch I can be there in a flash." He brandished his Omnitrix and put on a confident smile.
Everyone looked at each other; they knew that there would be no talking him out of it. "Well if you need us just give us a call." Gwen said, speaking for the group.
They all stood up and hugged and when they broke apart Ben turned into XLR8. "Hey!" Kevin called, getting Ben's attention. "Don't get into trouble without me!" Ben smiled, knowing it was Kevin's way of saying 'stay safe'. Ben smiled and gave a quick salute before throwing down his visor. With a heavy heart Ben turned around and started down the road.
He quickly found a comfortable stride and enjoyed the bit of exercise although XLR8's body hardly strained. He was halfway to his first stop when he suddenly decided that he didn't want to follow their old route and so decided he'd find somewhere else to go. He found a small gas station, almost abandoned in the middle of the desert and stopped near it. He turned human before entering, Ben grabbed a map and sat down at one of the small tables in the station. He considered grabbing some food; the smell of chili in the air was inviting, but he wasn't very hungry.
He started looking over the map, considering different locations when it occurred to him that he should turn the Omnitrix's tracking device off, he didn't want to be followed. When he was done with that, he went back looking over the map when one city caught his eye. "That might work." Ben said to himself and decided to go there.
Ben left the cool gas station into the stifling desert heat of Death Valley, but not before noticing the confused look from the cashier. When he was far enough away Ben went XLR8 again then started towards Los Angeles. Little did Ben know that soon, Los Angeles would be hit by a Sharknado. When Ben got to the beach, he saw a bar called FIN, and with the heat finally getting to him decided to stop in there for a drink. Once he was safely hidden, he turned human. He walked into the bar and enjoyed the wonders of air conditioning; although his thoughts were interrupted when a hot waitress in a bikini asked, "Can I help you?"
Ben quickly pulled down the sleeve of his shirt before answering, "Yeah, I'm just passing through. I saw this place and decided to get a smoothie if you make them." He flashed the waitress a suave smile.
The waitressed smiled and said, "We don't normally make them, but you're cute, so why don't you have a seat here at the bar and I'll make you one." She guided Ben over to a stool.
The man sitting next to Ben put out a hand and said, "Hi, my name is George, and this lovely lady -who will be my wife- is Nova."
Nova looked at him with a stern expression and said, "No, I won't. Now shut up and stop telling people that." George just laughed.
After a couple minutes Nova brought the smoothie around the bar to Ben. George was about to grab Nova's ass, and when Ben noticed this, he grabbed George's wrist. "I don't think she'd like that." Ben said through clenched teeth.
"Well would you look at that, I have a hero." Nova said with a smug grin to George.
Ben let go and George started to drink his drink again with a grumpy expression. Nova looked at Ben and said, "Thanks. He does this all the time." Just then there were screams coming from the beach. Ben ran out the bar pulling up his sleeve about to go alien. He stopped and pulled his sleeve back down Nova passed him. Ben continued toward the beach.
When they were all safely back in the bar Fin and his friend Baz were introduced to Ben. They all sat around the bar drinking while Baz told them about how the sharks ran when Fin gave them a look and how they nibbled on him. "I'm just happy you're okay." Nova said, taking Fin by the shoulders. Fin told Nova to get back to work, she gave a small sigh and asked to talk to Ben alone. Ben agreed so they stepped away from the bar. Ben heard Baz and George say how Nova could do way better than him and it got on his nerves; they had no idea who or what he was, if they did they'd shut up. Ben and Nova stepped outside, and she asked, "Why were you pulling up your sleeve when we were running out to the beach?"
The question caught Ben off guard, and he struggled to come up with a lie. "Well…I-" He stammered, trying to buy time. It wasn't working; Nova was giving him an impressively withering look. "Well…" He paused, he supposed that only telling her wouldn't ruin his vacation. "Okay, fine." He said with a sigh. "I'll tell you, but you got to promise not to tell anyone, okay?" Ben said, giving her a serious look.
Nova looked in the window and saw that Baz and George were watching them and so she decided to play it up. Nova threw her arms around Ben's neck and whispered in his ear, "Tell you what, Baz and George are watching us; if you pretend like we're getting together, I'll keep your secret."
Ben felt himself blushing and had to suppress a gulp, her body was fit and toned, and her large breasts were pressed up against him. It wouldn't be the worst thing to pretend to get together with her. He replied with a whisper in her ear, "You've got a deal. You know that kid that has been on all the news channels, and has the watch that can turn him into aliens?"
"Yeah. Wasn't his name Ben Tennyson?" Nova said pulling away.
Ben looked down, leaned against the window, and pulled up his sleeve showing her the Omnitrix. "This is the Omnitrix and my name is Ben Tennyson. I'm the one you've been seeing on the news. Before you ask why am I here when I could be anywhere, my grandfather just died so I decided to take a vacion." Nova was gasping the whole time.
When she stopped, she hugged him and said, "I'm sorry for your loss. When you came in, I thought you looked familiar." With a glance Nova saw that they were still watching them and so decided to kiss Ben. When she kissed him, Ben was surprised but quickly went along with it. When they were done, she whispered in Ben's ear. "I did that for them, not you." She paused and then said, "Just, go along with what I say."
When they went back inside George and Baz asked what happened out there while Fin was on the phone; no one could hear what Fin was saying. Nova told them loudly that her and Ben were to be married. George spat out his drink in shock, "Good God boy, you only just met her!" he said incredulously.
"If I remember correctly it was my first day on the job that you started telling people that we were going to get married." Nova countered with a smirk. George was about to retort but Fin interrupted him; he was upset and said he was closing the place because the storm was coming and coming fast.
Nova helped behind the bar while everyone started to leave slowly when a shark come busting through the window. Ben ran over and punched the Shark while everyone ran screaming. Nova ran over to Ben and saw that there was a thing on his chest which disappeared when Ben touched it. "What was that?" Nova asked in Bens ear while Fin and his friends got ready to go, quicker this time.
Ben replied. "Well, one thing I can do with my Omnitrix is go what I call 'Ultimate Ben', which lets me use the power of my aliens without going alien, but I don't like it because it takes a lot out of me and the Omnitrix." It was true, even those few seconds that he was Ultimate took a lot out of him, but he didn't want Nova to see just how bad it was.
Fin handed Nova a gun then tried to give Ben a weapon. Ben didn't take it, and they left. The tide was hitting so hard that everything was shaking. Nova was knocked over by a wave that left a shark on the pier which tried to get Nova. Ben grabbed its tail and threw it back into the sea. "Thank you again." Nova said to Ben as they started to run; they passed a shark that looked like its face was blown apart.
A loud, screeching sound cut through the air harshly; it was like metal being scraped against metal. Ben and Nova looked behind them to see the Ferris wheel rolling towards them. Ben turned around while Nova kept running, not noticing that Ben wasn't with her. Ben ran into the crowd that was being chased by the giant attraction and when he was past them turned into Four Arms without anyone noticing. He braced himself as the wheel approached and grabbed it, being slid back a few feet before he stopped the momentum. He strained and pushed against the large structure, sending it rolling away into the sea.
Ben turned human, catching up with Nova. They started running again, by the time they made it to Fin's truck the storm had stopped. Looking at all the wreckage Fin decided he was going to check on his Ex-wife and his daughter. "I can drop you two at Nova's house if you want."
"I live on the beach, it's probably flooded, I want to go with you to make sure your family is safe." Nova said and then wrapped herself around Ben's arm. "Besides, Ben can keep me safe." She said with a giggle.
It started to rain again. "Has anyone seen George?" Fin asked.
"Yeah, he's asleep in the back." Ben replied.
Baz opened the door which woke him. "I'm glad you woke me, I was having the worst nightmare." George said groggily. They got into the truck and left. The streets were starting to flood. "Why is the truck shaking?" George asked as it was shaken for the 3rd time.
"There are sharks in the street." Nova said, seeing one go by her door.
"Looks like one taste of Baz was not enough." Baz said.
"That's a tiger shark." Nova said offhandedly.
"How do you know?" George asked.
"Shark week." Nova stated. The sharks started to hit the sides of the truck.
Fin started to say that they should head for higher ground when George said head to Beverly Hill, that was where he lived and he said that it couldn't be flooded yet. This led to the question of why George would come down to the coast for a beer. He said that it was because Fin didn't charge $15 bucks a pop at his place. They headed onto the freeway which was packed. As Fin weaved in between the cars which were all up against a sidewall people started yelling at them. When they got up a way, a huge wave came over the wall taking out the car in front of them and slamming it over the sidewall. "The road behind us is starting to flood." Fin said, looking in the rearview mirror. People were starting to get eaten by sharks. Fin got out to go help, yelling that they needed to get to higher ground. Ben, who was sitting bracingly in the bed of the truck with a lid opened the back glass to help.
Nova started to get out when Ben stopped her and said, "Stay here, I got this." Ben and Fin got as many people up the road as possible. Fin would get them and Ben would punch any sharks that came close. Nova noticed that before Ben started punching sharks his whole body had a green line pass over it. She almost didn't notice.
Ben made his way back to Fin's truck, deactivating ultimate form on his way. Blood pounded in his ears, deafening him, and fog clouded his thoughts. His whole body sagged under the merciless force of gravity and all his muscles burned with exhaustion. He barely noticed George rush past him with his barstool that he carried with him. Fin got in the truck while Ben opened the trunk and flopped down there. Just then a huge wave came over the wall carrying sharks, they quickly tore through George.
Ben couldn't stop it, he was starting to pass out. The last thing he heard as his vision greyed out was Baz asking Fin if April knew they were coming. When Ben woke up, he heard the truck door slam as Fin left the truck. "Where are we?" Ben asked Nova, who was wiping his forehead with the towel that she still had from the bar. Baz was out of the truck now.
"We're at Fin's ex-wife's house. Before we get out, I have a question?" Nova said placing a hand on Ben's chest when he tried to sit up. "What were those green lines that ran across your body when you headed to help Fin?"
"That was me going Ultimate Ben again. I told you it took a lot out of me." Ben said as they got out of the truck and started to the door. April had just opened it, she was shocked to see them.
"I told you not to come, who are they?" April said pointing to Ben and Nova. Not letting them in.
"That's Nova and her boyfriend Ben. Now let us in." Fin said. Just then a sewer drain popped open sending a shark at them, Nova quickly shot it in the face; Ben gave her a quick cheer which she smiled at.
When they were all inside Fin called his daughter, who come out and said. "Dad, what are you doing here?"
"There's a bad storm on its way; it's not safe here." Fin said.
"I'm not going with you dad, just go." Claudia said walking down the stairs.
"What's with all the racket," Colin said, walking out a seeing everyone. "Aww, Shepard, I should have known it was you."
"Look, a bad storm is coming, I'm taking my family up state." Fin said.
"Look, April is my girlfriend, so she is not your responsibility, and unless it's the 20th, which it's not, then neither is Claudia." Colin said pompously.
"Colin, don't be rude, he is just concerned about us." April said. Colin put up a hand to stop April from talking.
"Every time it storms in L.A. everyone says it's the storm if the century. Even if it is, Beverly Hills Emergency service is second to none. We're safe here." Colin said poking Fin in the chest.
Fin started to leave. "There are sharks swimming in the streets." Nova said. Everyone looked at her and Ben.
"No there are not, so Shepard why don't you take your friends-" Colin stopped mid-sentence looking at Ben again. "So, Shepard, when did you start hanging with famous people?" Ben turned away and looked out the window.
"What? No one here is famous." Fin said looking at Ben who was looking out the window.
"Just so you know, there's a shark in the pool." Ben said casually. Walking away form the window and taking Nova closer to the stairs.
"He's the famous one." Colin said, pointing at Ben and then he walked down the stairs and continued to say, "and there is no way a shark is in a pool." He was cut off when the window broke, flooding the room. Ben got Nova and Baz up the stairs with April and her daughter, Claudia. Colin popped out of the water at the bottom of the stairs screaming for Fin to help. Ben stopped Fin from moving, then Ben made his way to him with April and Claudia screaming. Ben was about to grab Colin when the shark came up and gripped Colin's side in its mouth.
Nova shot the first one with every shot she could until the shot gun was empty. "We're out of ammo."
"We need to get out of here and go inland." Fin said, sitting on the stairs trying to figure out what about Ben made Colin think he was famous.
"Where? Before we can leave, we have to go get Matt he is at his flight school." Claudia said.
"When did he join fight school? I thought he was on vacation in Tampa with his buddies." Fin said, a little upset.
"He was going to tell you but Colin said you had no right to know now." Claudia replied, holding onto her mother. She looked at Ben and said, "I know you. You're that alien hero Ben 10."
Ben looked down and replied. "Yeah." Everyone looked at him and saw that his sleeve was torn revealing the Omnitrix. "Before anyone asks, I have a reason for not telling anyone." Ben went on to tell his reason while they got ready to leave. Ben went Diamondhead and told them he was going to distract the shark so they could make a run for the car. Everyone was in shock to see Ben transform into an alien. "Alright, it's time to go fishing!" Ben said as he jumped into the water. Everyone else ran. The shark tried to bite him from behind but broke its teeth on his diamond. Ben wasted no time in dispatching the shark. When they were all outside Ben emerged behind them, human again. Ben and Nova got into the trunk, Baz got into the front seat and April and Claudia got in the back seat.
"Why didn't you do that sooner?" Fin snapped as they sped away. Behind them the house collapsed in on itself.
"I already told you." Ben sighed. "All I wanted was a vacation after my grandfather died."
"People died and you could have helped if you weren't being so selfish." Fin said, his knuckles white on the steering wheel.
"Fin!" Nova snapped.
"What?" He yelled back.
"Ben has been helping, just because you couldn't see it doesn't mean it wasn't happening." Nova said and then turned to Ben. "Tell him." She urged.
"I can use my powers without going alien, but it's very taxing on me. When you and I were fighting on the bridge I was using my aliens; it's why I passed out." Ben said. He knew that Fin didn't mean it and was only reacting to the high stress situation.
Fin loosened his grip on the steering wheel and sighed. "I'm sorry." He said. "Thank you for saving my family."
Nova leaned onto Ben and Ben wrapped an arm around her. "Well now that you all know who I am I don't intend to not use my aliens." He said and all the tension and hostility in the car melted away.
They made their way to the flight school. Fin stopped seeing a bus. "No, fin you don't need to save everyone." April said, knowing Fin was going to try to help.
"But there could be kids in there." Fin argued. Ben opened the back glass while Fin and April continued to argue how he liked to be in the spotlight than (he cared) care for them and that was why she left him.
(Having enough of the fighting Ben went Upgrade, which drew everyone's attention. "Fin, head up to the top of the bridge. I'll take care of the bus and meet you up there." He ordered. Fin nodded and Ben slithered over to the bus and took it over with Upgrade.
"So, Miss Nova, is that your boyfriend?" April asked.
"Yeah…" Nova replied distantly. "He really is." A smile drifted across her face as she realized that she actually had feelings for Ben.
"Don't you ever get upset that he tries to save everyone?" April asked, she tried to sound polite, but it was obvious that she was frustrated.
"To be honest, we only met today. It's funny, we stated fake dating to keep Baz off me but now I think I actually like him." Baz got upset and started going on about how he was tricked. "Anyways, to answer your question, no I don't mind. He cares about everyone's safety, so when he's off saving other people it's like he's trying to save me as well." Nova said, both ignoring Baz.
Ben went upgrade which made everyone look. "Fin head up to the top of the bridge, I will take care of the bus and meet you up there." Fin nodded and Ben jumped onto the bus, taking it over with upgrade.
"So, miss Nova it that your boyfriend?" April asked.
"Yeah… he is." Nova replied relisioning for the first time she was starting to love Ben for real.
"Don't you get upset that he trys to save everyone?" April asked trying to sound plite.
"Well I just met him today, we started fack daiteing to keep Baz off me, but no I know he cares about my safety. So when he is helping people its like hes trying to make sure that nothing can stop him from helping me as well." Nova replied.
Claudia watched as Ben made the bus fly up and land on top of the bridge while April looked at Fin seeing what Nova meant. (Baz was still ranting about fake dating and how it was a dirty trick.) Baz was just freaking out about Nova saying 'fake dating'
When Fin had gotten to the top, he saw the bus driving away. Ben was leaning against the wall. Fin's car (broke down) just stopped. Claudia and Nova laid on Ben to feel safe while Baz and Fin tried to fix the car. Nova told Ben she wanted (to be his girlfriend for real, Ben smiled and agreed.) to be his real girlfriend. April sat next to them and just watched Fin work.
Fin walked over and said, "Okay, we managed to patch the truck." Fin looked over the bridge at the water and saw that 3 huge tornados were forming. "Are you fucking kidding me there are sharks in the fucking tornados now." Fin said when he saw the silhouette of one in it. Ben, Nova, and Claudia got into the trunk. April pushed Baz into the back seat so she could have the front.
"Claudia seems to feel safer with Ben." April said to Fin while they headed to for the flight school again. There was a loud thunk on top of the truck. Everyone started looking, Ben without thinking opened the back glass he saw a shark on top of the car. Just then, it bit through the roof, everyone started screaming while Ben jumped out going XLR8. (He grabbed the tail of the shark, that made it turn trying to get at Ben. The shark rolled off the roof, dragging Ben -who was already half out of the car- along with it. They both rolled to a stop while Fin sped off. Ben was almost bitten when the shark lunged at him. He dodged, grabbed the shark by the tail again and spun fast, spinning the shark with him. When he let go the shark was sent flying, he took a moment to watch it fly before trying to find Fin.) and grabbed the shark which pulled its head out and tried to get Ben it rolled off the roof trying to turn to face Ben.
(Ben noticed a trail of oil that followed the path the truck took and when he felt it, it was still fresh. "That can't be good." He said before taking off, following the trail. He didn't have to follow it long before he found Fin, he had parked underneath a bridge. Just as Ben arrived Fin smelt gas and ordered everyone out of the car. They had only run a few paces before the car exploded. Fin was surprised when he looked up, perfectly fine, to see a wall of green diamond in between them and the truck. "Where did that come from?" April and Fin asked, talking in unison.)
Ben went back to face the shark to give Fin more then enefu time to get away. They pulled under a brige. Fin smelled gas and told them all to get out and run they didn't get 5 steps away when the car exploded. Fin was supried that they were fine looking around he saw a wall of green dimoned in-between them and the truck. "Where did that come from?" April and Fin asked.
Ben came around it as himself again. "I'm happy I showed up when I did. (I used Diamondhead to make this wall.") to I could use Diamondhead to make this wall. Nova started freaking out. "What's wrong?" Ben asked.
"I left the gun in the truck." Nova said in a frenzy.
"It's okay, I'm here; I'll keep you all safe." Ben said, taking her under one arm. Claudia got under his other and they walked to the nearest gas station.
(They spit up to gather the supplies they needed, and Claudia went with Nova so she could talk to her about how she was only holding onto Ben so she could feel safe. Meanwhile, the T.V mounted on the wall was turned to the news. The news was saying how it was looking like the apocalypse. The man at the register snorted. "It's not the apocalypse. There are no aliens coming down. I bet it's the government."
Ben went Rath and grabbed the cashier by his shirt. "What did you say about aliens, you nasty little man? Think they will cause the end of the world do ya? Rath will show you." He smiled, showing off his fangs. Ben unsheathed his claw and hooked the man under the jaw, barely pricking him.
"Ben, he's not worth it." Fin said, putting a hand on his shoulder. Ben growled and tossed the man back. He turned human again and snorted in frustration. Soon after that everyone brought over a bunch of supplies which Ben payed for. The man was still obviously scared of him, keeping his head down and not talking. Ben didn't feel bad for him.)
They started getting supplies were Claudia talk to Nova about how she was just holing onto Ben the way she was so she would be safe. The news was on saying how it was looking like the apacliops. "its not the apacliops, there are no aliens coming down. I bet it's the govment.'
Ben went Rath. "What did you say about aliens you nasty little man, Rath will show you what an alien can do." Ben said showing the man his callow witch grow.
"Ben, he not wearth it." Fin said putting a hand on Rath's scholder. Ben went humion. Everyone brought over a punch of supplies witch Ben payed for to the man who was still very scard of him.
They walked outside. "We need a car." Fin said, not sure where to get one.
"I got that covered." Baz said pointing to a building that said, "Movie cars for rent or buy."
Soon they were off in what looked like a military hummer which fit everyone nicely. When they got to the flight school Ben said, "I'll go get your son, Matt. (I can get in and out quickly. When the others nodded, he went Ditto and split multiple times. All the different Bens went in different directions, spitting up to find Matt quickly. When Ben found him, they all went back to the hummer.) because I can get in and out quliny. Ben went Ditto and moved all over the place inside. When he found them. everyone came inside in the hummer.
("It's not safe out there." Fin said impatiently before they could get to the car. He drove over to them, Ben taking the opportunity to merge back into one Ditto.
"Come on Matt, there are Sharknados on the way." April said, pulling Matt into the Hummer.
"And just what is a Sharknado?" The teacher asked skeptically.
"They're tornadoes with sharks in them." Fin said bluntly. The teacher walked the rest of the way outside. Ben went human and everyone in the class gasped; amazed and recognizing Ben for the hero he was. The crowded around him and swooned. Sensing danger Ben quickly went Diamondhead and raised a dome over the small crowd around him. Seconds later a shark fell from the sky, eating the teacher.)
"it not safe out there." Fin said hoping out and heading over to them. Matt come out and hugged his mother and father.
"Come on Matt there are sharknados on the way." April said. Pulling him over to the hummer.
"Whats a Sharknado?" The teacher asked.
"there tornados with sharks in them" Fin said. The teacher walked outside. Ben went humion and everyone in the class gathered around him. Just then Ben went Dimondhead and summioned a dome over them all the teacher was taken by a shark.
When it was over Ben lowered the dome. "We need to find a way to defend ourselves, besides the Sharknados are almost here." Fin said.
"I got an idea." Matt said running out and heading to a supply shop. "They must have taken off." Matt said trying to open the door. The other students ran for it while Ben went Four arms and punched the door open. "Okay we need to make a bomb to throw into the tornados." Matt said.
"Why?" Everyone asked.
(Before Matt could reply Ben smirked and went Heatblast. "I got something better than a bomb." He said, levitating a small fireball in one hand.)
Ben went Heatblast and replied. "I got something better than a bomb."
"Alright, well, we still need to defend ourselves, because after Ben stops the tornadoes the sharks in them will fall down from the sky." Fin said. They got what they could find to use as weapons while Ben went off to stop the tornadoes.
When all was said and done there were sharks dead everywhere when Ben landed. Fin and his family where all hugging and crying. Baz was pulling the hummer out. "I can't wait to tell everyone that I fought with the Ben Tennyson." Baz said.
Ben looked at them and said. "No, I was never here."
Fin walked over to Ben with his Family and said. "I understand, can I get your number so we can be friends?"
"Yeah." Ben said pulling out his phone and turning it on for the first time since he left Mr. Smoothy's. It went off like crazy from text and calls from Gwen, Rook, Kevin, and Julie. Ben gave Fin his number and said. "My number is for you, April and your kid. Don't give it to Baz."
"Hey, why can't I have your number?" Baz asked a little upset.
("I heard what you said when Nova and I stepped out." He scoffed "Quote, she could do way better than him, unquote." He fixed Baz with a harsh glare. "Maybe you shouldn't talk shit like that when you don't know the other person." Ben smiled, satisfied with the humiliation on Baz's face. "But now you know better."
"In my defense I was trying to get with her too." Baz muttered while Fin and his family started packing the hummer. Baz helped them.
"Hey, I'm still going cross-country so if you want you can come with me seeing as you are my real girlfriend now." Nova didn't say anything, just blushed and gave Ben a deep kiss that turned into a make out session. When she pulled away Ben smiled, now blushing. "I'll take that as a yes." He said with a chuckle. "Why don't you go help them. I need to call my cousin back, she blew up my phone." Nova nodded and went to help the rest of the group.)
"Because when Nova and I went out to talk you and George stated telling her she could de way better then me when you didn't know anything about me." Ben said with a smile.
"I'm sorry. But I was trying to get with her my self you know." Baz replied wile Fin and his Family started packing the hummer.
Baz started to help Fin. "hey im still going crosscury so if you what you can come with me sence your my real grilfrand now." Ben said. Nova didn't say a thing she just started making out with Ben. When she pulled away. "I'm gessing that means yes." Nova just Blushed and smiled. "ok, why don't you go help them wile I call my csain. She's the one who sent me all thows calls and text so I sould call her back." Ben said. Nova walked over to Fin and the rest to help.
Ben called Gwen. "Oh my God!" Gwen shouted as soon as she picked up. He could hear her take a deep breath. "Ben, where are you?" Gwen asked, calmer now.
"I'm in L.A. I need you and Rook to bring me my car so my new girlfriend and I can continue on my vacion." Ben said.
"You and your what?" Gwen (asked, incredulously.) said. "You know Julie has been trying to get ahold of you because she wants to get back together with you." Gwen (said.) Finished.
"Why would I want to get back together with her after everything (she put me through. I have a girlfriend that won't do that crap to me.") she has done. I have a girlfreand who will not do that crap to me." Ben said irritably. "Look, we can talk about what happened here when you and Rook get here with my car. I'm turning on my tracking device so you can get to the hotel that I am going to rent." Ben hung up the phone before she could say anything else.
When Ben got back to the Hummer with everyone they were talking about where are they going to go (now that all their homes were destroyed.) because all there homes were destroyed. "Well I'm going to a hotel, why don't we all go to the same one so we can keep hanging out until my cousin gets here with my car. so I can keep going on my vascion." Ben said.
"That's not a bad idea." April said. They all got into the hummer; Ben took the driver seat, Nova was in the passenger seat, the rest were in the back. Ben had managed to find a hotel that worked with the plumbers, so Ben headed there. Ben pulled up to a gate that said. 'Employees only.' "We can't go back here, it's for employees." April said.
Without saying a thing Ben got out of the Hummer and went to (a) the panel on the wall next to the gate. He pulled out his plumber's ID and swiped it. The gate opened; everyone in the car was surprised to see it worked. Ben got into the Hummer and headed in. He went and parked then took everyone to the elevator and called it. "How did you get the gate to open? You can't possibly work for this hotel." Fin asked (while they waited).
"This hotel is on a list of ones that work for the Plumbers, the (kind) Plumbers that fight aliens not the other kind." Ben said showing them his Plumber ID. When they got to the main lobby the man started to ask who are when he realized that the man in front was Ben.
"How can I help you Mr. Tennyson?" He asked in a cheery and polite tone. "We are all sorry to here about Max's death." The man added.
"We need 4 rooms for me and my friends, I went on vacion and they lost their homes to the Sharknados." Ben said.
"We understand, we saw them." The man said while setting up the rooms. (He handed) then heading the four room keys to Ben. "You and your friends can stay as long as needed on the Plumber's floor. Free of charge, of course."
"Thanks." Ben said as they walked over to an elevator that said employees only. He used his Plumber's ID in the card reader. When the doors opened, they all walked in. They waited for Ben to hit a floor number, but he didn't. They were about to ask why he was not pressing a botton when the doors closed and it started to move up to the top floor. "Only plumbers and certain other people can get up here." When the elevator opened on the top floor, they were surprised to find only one door. Ben seemed nonplussed about this.
"Didn't we get four rooms?" Fin and April asked. Ben just walked to the door and used one of the keys to open it. It led into a hall, which had four room off the long hall that led into a main living room.
Everyone was shocked at the size of the what they were to call a home. There were four bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, plus a living room to share. There was a full kitchen, and a hot tub on the back deck. "He said he would let us use the Plumber's floor. Its a floor that Plumbers can live in for years at a time." Ben (explained) said walking over to the pool table and setting it up.
"So, we can all pick our own rooms." Nova said walking over to one of the rooms. Fin and April walked over to the room across from the one Nova picked.
"We can try to make it work again." April said, taking Fin into the room and closing the door.
"Matt and Baz, you will have to share a room so Claudia can have her own room." Ben said starting to play a little pool by himself. His tone left no room for argument.
Matt and Baz nodded and took the room with two queen sized beds. Claudia went to her room which had two queen beds as well. Everyone went to sleep except for Ben. When he was done playing pool, he went down to the main floor to talk to the man about getting some clothes for everyone and getting food. The man said when they like they can be taken into the city (to be taken shopping. Due to the tragedy and their relationship to Ben the Plumbers were paying for everything.) and can be taken shopping. The plumors will pay for everything. As for food, there was a designated food shopper that they could call and who would get all they need.
Ben was watching Sumo Slammers when Fin came out and sat next to him. "I want to thank you for all this." Ben handed him (IDs) an ID that had all of their names on it. "What are these?"
"They're the ID's you and everyone will need to get to this floor, you can go shopping with them as well. Just swipe them like a credit card and you'll be all good." Ben said. Fin was looking through the cards and saw that there wasn't one for Nova.
"Does Nova get one?" Fin asked.
"Yeah, I have hers. Oh, if you, or anyone, needs food just call the front desk and tell them to send up the food shopper. Give him a list of what we need, and he will get it and bring it up here to us." Ben said handing Fin the remote to the TV.
"Ok." Fin replied as Ben got up and headed to the room, he and Nova would be sharing.
A month has passed before Gwen arrived. When she had gotten into the garage, she called Ben. "Ok Rook, Kevin, Julie and I are here, and before you go off about why I brought her, she was insistent on coming so she could talk to you."
"Okay, I'm on my way down." Ben said walking to the door. "Everyone stay in here till I get back ok." Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
He stepped out of the elevator to see everyone waiting for him in the lobby. Julie was the first to stand up, she walked over to him with a smile on her face and her arms outstretched in a hug. Ben swerved out of the way and put a polite smile on his face. "Julie.' He said simply with a nod.
"It's been too long, Ben." She said, looking a little hurt.
"Clearly. So, why have you been blowing up my phone?" Ben asked, getting right to the point.
"You haven't read or listened to any of the messages?" Julie asked. When Ben shook his head she explained, "I want to get back together with you. Cash and I broke up."
Ben snorted. "Why would I get back together with you?" He asked, spitting venom.
Julie grabbed his hand and smiled up at him. "I've grown over the years Ben, and I'm sure you have to."
Ben pulled his hand away sharply and said, "I can't trust you anymore Julie. When we couldn't make it work the first time it hurt but it happens. Then you moved away to college and we stopped talking for a few months. You hit me up out of the blue and want to get back together, see if we can make a long-distance relationship work out. At first it was great, we talked all the time, made video calls and even managed to go on a couple dates." Ben took a deep breath, unable to stop the rant that he had started. "Then you grew distance, I would text you and it would take days for you to text back. I would think 'Oh, she must just be studying hard and is too busy to talk, that's fine.' Turns out it was so much more than that wasn't it?" He asked, Julie flinched, and Ben continued. "I get a call from Cash, saying how you two had started dating and that he even moved in with you. Turns out that he had no idea that you and I had gotten back together." Ben clenched his fists, the anger he had suppressed for years boiling over all at once.
"Ben, I-" Julie started but was cut off by Ben.
"Shut up." He growled. "I have a lot more to say." Ben took a deep breath, trying to keep level-headed enough to articulate his words. "I continue like nothing happened, waiting for you to have the balls to tell me yourself, but you just continued to grow more and more distant until one day you just stopped talking to me all together." His voice shook and tears stung his eyes. "Three months after I get the call from Cash, I get a letter- a goddamn letter- from you, telling me that you were breaking up with me. You never even had the courage to admit that you were cheating on me!" He snapped. He took another deep breath and let it out in a stuttering sigh. "So, no, I'll never get back together with you." He said calmly and coldly. Julie nodded, tears in her eyes, and went to go sit back down.
"That was a bit harsh." Gwen said, walking up to Ben.
Ben shook his head, "No, it really wasn't."
Gwen seemed to disagree but didn't voice her concerns. "Well anyways." Gwen said after a few seconds of awkward silence. "Julie was supposed to wait until after you and I were done talking before springing that on you. I wouldn't have taken her if she wasn't so persistent." She sighed and shook her head.
Ben shrugged. "She probably would have followed you anyways." He said.
Gwen nodded. "So, tell me about your new girlfriend, we don't even know her name."
Ben smiled as a strangled yelp of surprise came from Julie. "Yeah." Ben laughed. "Really should have waited your turn, could have saved yourself the heartache." He took a second to be petty and then turned his attention back to Gwen. "Her name is Nova." Ben said with a smile. "She's a waitress at a bar in Los Angles. We met right before the Sharknado."
"That's a bad ass name." Kevin said.
"Quite." Rook agreed with a small nod.
"I bet you she's hot." Kevin laughed, nudging Rook.
"I will take that bet." Rook said and they shook hands.
"Will you two shut up!" Gwen snapped, turning around to give them an evil glare.
"Lighten up babe, you're still the hottest." Kevin said with a shrug. Gwen snorted and put up a bubble around Kevin and Rook. "So, what's a Sharknado?" Gwen asked, turning back to Ben as if nothing had happened.
"It's a tornado, with sharks in them." Ben said with a shrug. He had had enough time to process it and it was no longer a big deal.
"Well that's simply not possible." Gwen said in disbelief.
"Tell that to all the people that were eaten by them." Ben retorted.
"Wait, they were alive!?" Gwen gasped, a look of horror on her face.
"Yeah! I'm honestly surprised it wasn't national news." Ben said, crossing his arms. "Maybe it was something alien. I should look more deeply into it, just to be sure." He mused aloud. After a few seconds he seemed to snap back to reality. "Wait, why did it take you a month to get here?" Ben asked.
"Ah, well, Rook and I were making you a gift." Gwen said and then started to walk away. "Come on, it's in the garage."
Just then a ding rang out and the elevator doors opened, Ben turned around out of curiosity. Nova stepped out looking as beautiful as ever. "Hey, Nova." Ben said as she walked up to him. "This is Gwen, my cousin." They shook hands. "The punk over in the bubble is Kevin, Gwen's boyfriend." He said, pointing to Kevin who had started pounding on the barrier. "And the one with the ears is Rook, my partner." Kevin grabbed a wooden leg of the couch and armored up only to turn his hand into an axe and burst the bubble.
"Hey!" Gwen scolded, glaring over her shoulder at Kevin.
Kevin turned his hand back to normal and de-armored. "Think that I wouldn't want to shake your girlfriend's hand?" Kevin said with a smug grin as he walked up to them.
"You were right Kevin." Rook said as he joined them. "She is more attractive than Gwen." Kevin flinched and gave Gwen a sheepish smile.
"Oh, she's more attractive than me, huh?" Gwen asked, narrowing her eyes dangerously.
"That, uh, is not what I meant." Kevin said lamely, folding under Gwen's intense stare.
Rook shoved a few bills into Kevin's hand and said, "The money we bet." Kevin glared at him, but he gave a seemingly clueless smile. However, Ben knew that Rook knew full well that he was getting Kevin in even more trouble.
"You are in so much trouble." Gwen said, crossing her arms. "Please, forgive him for being an idiot." She turned back to face Nova, a forced smile on her face.
"I've gotten worse from bigger idiots." Nova laughed. Nova took Ben's arm as they walked down to the employs only garage. Ben was speechless when he saw the luxury RV. with a wall on the bottom that rose up to reveal Ben's car parked inside.
"We got you this RV with a spot that you can store your car in for when you need it." Kevin said. Hitting a button on the keys that sled the car spot out so Ben could get into his car.
Ben and Nova walked around the RV seeing how amazing it was. When they were done, they all walked up except for Julie who went and waited in Rook's van until they were ready to go. Gwen told Rook and Kevin to head back, she was going to stay with Ben for a day or so. Ben said, "I'll take you back before continuing on with our vacation." After Rook and Kevin left Ben made dinner while they all told Gwen everything that happen from Ben walking into the bar to when she called him saying she was here.
