I do not claim to own the -man series or its characters as they are owned by Katsura Hoshino. However this is a reworked story that I started long ago with a fellow writer DevilsCourt. I decided to take the stroy and revamp it as some of what was written before. Please be sure to leave me your comments and reviews telling me what you think. This will be a Yaoi boyxboy story so it will involve: nudity, kissing, hard core sex, and mpreg so read if you are not into those kind of things. Thanks!

ONE

Night was falling blanketing the world in darkness. Deep within a victorian mansion, a man sat looking out as the last rays of the sun disappeared. Upon first inspection of this man, most people would think that he is as human as the rest of them. But that wasn't true. You see this man was a vampire, the last noble of his ancient race. Not even he could tell you just how old he was. Just how many centuries has it been since he last saw color? How many eons has it been since he last felt any emotion what so ever? Yuu Kanda couldn't answer those questions for he had forgotten. He had only one hope to regain what he had lost. To find his soulmate, the other half to his soul. His soulmate would bring color back to his black, white, and grey world. This person would make him feel and capable of having real emotions once again instead of masking them.

Black hair that almost looked like a navy blue color glowed under the moon's gaze. Sharp silver eyes seemed lonely as they lazily looked out over the land. Pale skin popped against his dark clothing. He was wearing a black coat that reached the floor which was lined in red. Under it was a black long sleeved shirt and black slacks that layered cloaked in the shadows. He had his elbow supported by the windowsill as he supported his chin.

Even though Yuu was a vampire, the myths about his kind are greatly exaggerated. No he doesn't burn when exposed or in sunlight. Holy water doesn't work, neither does garlic or crosses. The only way that you could even attempt to kill him is if you cut off his head or shove a stake into his heart. Not that he would even give you the chance to do that. Being an ancient and noble, Kanda had powers that are not even known to the mortal world. Of course he had incredible sight and smell, inhuman strength, above average agility and reflexes. His skills with a sword was far beyond what anyone was even remotely capable of. He could move faster than the human eye could comprehend. He could fly only if he reverted to his true form where he had a pair of large black bat-like wings. He could also transform into fog, communicate mentally with bats and wolves. He could also produce illusion and use dark magic skills.

Once night had completely blanketed the land, Kanda set out to hunt for blood. Mostly he survived drinking the blood of animals. He would use their meat to give humans the illusion that he was just like them. Their fur he tended to sell at the market along with their bones and antlers that he used to make trinkets and pieces of jewelry with since he was extremely good with his hands. Only on some occasions he did feed on humans but, it was mostly the homeless or those whom were evil in nature. Kanda could tell by a simple glance if a person was good or evil in nature. He was getting a bit low on his food source and supplies.

'Guess its time.' he thought to himself as he grabbed his sword along with several bags. One was specially lined to keep the meat cold while others were used for the bones, fur, and antlers. Kanda set off into the massive forest that existed behind his home.

While Kanda was out hunting, he could hear a wolf's cries and whimpers. It seemed that it might be caught in one of the hunter traps that he had set up. It wasn't the first or last time that this has happened. But what drew his attention the most was the very sweet smell that was laced with the blood. Kanda could feel his eyes turning red while sparks of hunger tickled in the back of his throat. Kanda went over to where he could hear the cries to find a wolf whose entire front leg was stuck in the trap almost near it's shoulder. He also noticed that it's back leg was caught in another trap close to his knee. The sweet smell that was Kanda was smelling seemed to be coming from the wolf. The wolf seemed aware of Kanda's presence as it looked up at the vampire through it's large silver eyes. Before Kanda could even move, the creature suddenly transformed into what looked to be a young man. Without warning, colors and emotions slammed through Kanda forcing the vampire to let out a sharp gasp. The young man had short shaggy white hair and large silver eyes. Going through the left eye was a jagged scar that seemed to be bleeding badly. Both his arm and leg where caught in the trap still when he transformed back to his human form. The young man knew that the vampire had caught his scent and had come to kill him. Tears streaked down the werewolf's face mixing with the blood.

"Please make it quick vampire. I rather be killed by you than caught by those whom are hunting me." stated the young man as he shut his eyes tight prepared to die by Kanda's hand. This creature, a werewolf by the looks of it, was his soulmate. he was asking Kanda to kill him and quickly. This sent a painful throb through Kanda's heart. No matter how sweet this boy smelled, he couldn't or wouldn't dare to hurt his soulmate. Kanda has waited for far too long for him and he wasn't about to loose him now after finally finding him.

The wolf had excepted his fate, it seemed that he was ready to die. It was that or be found and killed by the hunters. The clicking of metal was clearly heard by the young werewolf as his eyes shot wide open. Instead of leaning into take the wolf's blood, the vampire had leaned down and started to set the young man free. A surge of hope ran through the boy's veins of confussed the young werewolf. Wasn't this man a vampire? Weren't their species mortal enemies?"

"What is your name?" Kanda asked softly trying not to spook the young wolf.

"Allen... What is yours?" Allen asked in a studder.

"Kanda." the vampire spoke after finally getting the first trap off causing Allen to wince. "What are you doing around here?"

"I was hunting. I didn't know that this was... OW!" Allen yelped once the second trap was removed.

"You are hurt pretty bad. How about you come and stay with me until you are healed." Kanda offered picking up the smaller male cuasing him to help.

"If you don't mind..." Allen replied shyly as a light blush caressed his cheeks. Kanda was already heading back to his home completely forgetting the reason to why he had come out in the first place.
