Getting into Hogwarts was the gift that the twins didn't know they needed. Being able to be away from Dursely's was a dream come true. That doesn't mean that they weren't scared. They were going into a brand-new world, one in which they were famous. One that has magic. They didn't know what was coming. They could never predict how much Hogwarts would change their lives. The following years were definitely the best and worst that the twins had had to experience, and it all began at the sorting.

By the time they have arrived at Hogwarts, Harry and Adriana have made friends with a boy called Ron Weasley. He explained to them the basics of Hogwarts, each House and what it meant to be sorted into each of them. From his description it seemed that they should avoid anything to do with the Slytherin House. Apparently only bad wizards came from there. But even at such a young age Adriana has learned to take somethings with a pinch of salt. This type of scepticism is not unexpected from someone who has only recently found out that everything she knew about her life and family has been a lie. People will tell you what they believe, even if it is completely biased. So, whilst she appreciated the warning, she would make her own judgment about the Slytherin House.

Hogwarts was honestly the most beautiful thing Adriana has seen in her life. Every detail from the outside to the paintings to the ceiling in the Great Hall was extra ordinary. Adriana couldn't believe that this is where she would get to spend the next seven years of her life.

So, lost in thought Adriana didn't hear her name being called out until Harry nudged her. She heard the whispers around her.

'Did she say Adriana Potter?' 'THE Adriana Potter is here' 'Does that mean Harry Potter is here too?' 'Can you see them'

But Adriana ignored the chatter around her as she sat on the stool. A hat was placed on her head and she could no longer see anyone in front of her. Not expecting it, she jumped when she heard a voice inside her head.

"Ahhh Adriana Potter. I was wondering when I would be able to sort you"

"You know who I am?"

"I don't think there is a single soul, dead or alive who doesn't know who you are. Great things are planned for you Adriana. You will need strength and knowledge like no one before you if you are to do what you are destined to"

"What is it I am destined to do?"

"Unfortunately, that is not for me to say. But know this, you future going to be different to that of your brother. He may have defeated the Voldemort once but he is not the only one destiny is intertwined with Voldemort. But enough with that – now where to put you"

"Go on then, lets hear it"

"Impatient I see. Definitely could not be Hufflepuff than. I can see a desire for knowledge but Ravenclaw won't help you become who you need to be. I see bravery in you, Godric would be proud to have you in house"

"So, Gryffindor than?"

"Possibly. But Slytherin could make you great. You would have to fight for respect and acceptance. But once you get it, Slytherin will help you achieve the impossible. Are you willing to make that fight?"

"I think so"

"Very well. Good luck Adriana. SLYTHERIN"

The silence in the Great Hall was deafening. No one made a sound. When McGonagall made no move to remove the Sorting Hat, Adriana did it herself and placed it back on the stool. She managed to catch eyes with her brother. For the first time the only way he was looking at her was with pure disappointment. Adriana knew at the point their relationship was about to change forever.

The silence continued as Adriana made her way to the Slytherin table. She could feel eyes on her as she walked but she held her head up high. She could not show weakness. If the Sorting Hat thought this is where she belonged, than this is where she belonged. She sat down next to a blonde girl who was sorted before her. Even at the table everyone was looking at her.

But then Harry's name was called out and all the attention was on the other Potter. The more important Potter. The one who actually defeated the Voldemort. Whatever shock and attention Adriana received it ultimately paled because the Great Harry Potter was being sorted now.

"GRYFFINDOR"

The Great Hall erupted in applause. How couldn't they? THE Harry Potter was sorted into Gryffindor, the House of the Good. His sister into the House of Evil. The divide between the twins that would span for the next 6 years began right at this moment.

And so the sorting continued until there was no one left and the feast began.

"I'm Daphne Greengrass" The blonde girl whom she sat next to extended her hand towards her, seeing how uncomfortable the girl was being.

"Adriana Potter" She shook her hand, glad that at least someone was acting friendly towards her.

"You gave us quite a shock there" Another voice spoke to her right. It was a boy also her age, one of the last to be sorted. He also held his hand out "Blaise Zabini"

"Trust me no one is more shocked than I am" He scoffed

"I bet. Let me introduce you to everyone"

"How do you know everyone already?" Adriana was a bit confused.

"All of us are Purebloods so we spend a lot of time together at functions and Balls and such. Anyway, like I said I'm Blaise and you've met Daphne. You also have Pansy Parkinson, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle, Millicent Bulstrode, Theodore Nott, Tracey Davis and Draco Malfoy"

The last boy caught Adriana's attention. He had unnaturally blonde hair, almost white and pale skin. Adriana instantly knew where she recognised him from. He is the boy she and Harry met when they went they get their robes.

"We've met actually"

"Well one less name to learn than"

The feast went on. Adriana felt more and more relaxed as the night went on. One important thing she learnt that night was that it was Slytherins against the world. She didn't realise how true that would be.
