On a cold night in the dead of winter, Ron was far from home wondering and thinking of his redhead love. He was on his way home to Middleton, on the radio in the car he was renting a song that reminded him of all those years ago when he left in the first place.

"She'd trade Colorado if he'd take her with him
Closes the door before the winter lets the cold in,
And wonders if her love is strong enough to make him stay
She's answered by the tail lights
Shining through the window pane,"

"Ron why doing this you don't have to leave, stay here with me or I can come with you." Kim said as she ran to grab him from walking out the door.

"I'm sorry KP I got to go; they need me in Japan. Remember I'm the chosen one." Ron respond as he felt Kim's hand grab his arm.

"Ron I love you and if you walk through that door you wont see me again,"

Ron heard Kim's words and they were cold as ice. He knew he had to do what was best for the world. He had to give up the thing he loved for those truly needed him. A tear fell onto his cheek as he walked out that door, and he never once looked back. Kim had to watch him drive down that road. She fell to the ground in tears never to see Ron again.

Present Day

"He said I wanna see you again. But I'm stuck in colder weather. Maybe tomorrow will be better
Can I call you then. She said you're ramblin' man. You ain't ever gonna change. You gotta gypsy soul to blame. And you were born for leavin. At a truck stop diner just outside of Lincoln,
The night is black as the coffee he was drinkin', And in the waitress' eyes he sees the same 'ol light shinin' He thinks of Colorado. And the girl he left behind. He said I wanna see you again
But I'm stuck in colder weather. Maybe tomorrow will be better, Can I call you then, She said you're ramblin' man. You ain't ever gonna change, You gotta gypsy soul to blame, And you were born for leavin'

Born for leavin'

Well it's a winding road. When your in the lost and found, You're a lover I'm a runner
We go 'round 'n 'round, And I love you but I leave you, I don't want you but I need you
You know it's you who calls me back here, Oh I wanna see you again, But I'm stuck in colder weather, Maybe tomorrow will be better, Can I call you then, 'Cause I'm a ramblin' man, I ain't ever gonna change, I gotta gypsy soul, And I was born for leavin' (born for leavin')"

Ron pulls up to a familiar house, one he hasn't seen in 3 years. He looked in the window to see that redhead girl he loved and left all those years all so long ago. There inside was her another man and a little girl who looked just like her. They looked so happy. At that moment Ron knew he messed up and that it was supposed to be him.

"When I close my eyes I see you, No matter where I am. I can smell your perfume through these whispering pines. I'm with your ghost again. It's a shame about the weather. But I know soon we'll be together, And I can't wait 'til then. I can't wait 'til then"

A tear dropped onto his cheek again like it did all those years long ago. He knew there was nothing here for him. Ron put the car in drive and drove off in the snowy weather, not ever knowing what could have been if he had just stay. Then his car disappears into the snowy cold fog of winter. Not knowing a certain redhead saw the car and a tear comes back to her.

"Mommy why are you crying," her daughter asked her mother

"Nothing sweetie mommy was thinking of something that happened so long ago. But it time for you to head to bed," Kim responded to her daughters question.

She looked back at the window and muttered the words "Goodbye Ron"
