Hello and welcome to my Sonic the Hedgehog fanfic! Some of you might recognize me by another fanfic I wrote a long time ago, but I gave up on it. However, I'm back with my Sonic OCs and a new adventure.

This is going to be based on the anime "Sonic X", but in a totally different version, meaning the Thorndyke family and other human characters from the anime does not exist, except Dr. Eggman; he's the villain, so he's needed! Station Square does not exist on Earth as it did in the anime. I might use some official episodes as a base for certain chapters, but the rest will be completely original.

The girl on the cover is my human OC, but there is a mystery around her that will be revealed as we go on with each chapter.

If you're wondering, the "V" in the title means "Vitalization", inspired by Nana Mizuki's song "Vitalization".

Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own any Sonic the Hedgehog characters! I only own my OCs!

Chapter 1: Fateful Encounter

The weather was nice and lovely as my family's limousine drove through the busy streets of New York City. The school was over for the week, so I had two days to catch up with a few classes I was struggling with in high school. Mr. Masuda, my family's butler, sat by the driver seat as I sat in the back and watched the people walking on the sidewalk. I could see a few teenagers my age and how they smiled and laughed joyfully at something.

I instinctually reached for my ponytail and played with a few curls of my thick green hair. Yes, my hair was naturally green and not dyed at all. I had no idea how I could have green hair, but it had caused so much pain in my first sixteen years.

Besides my green hair, I had emerald green eyes, and light peach skin. I was around 170 centimeter tall and had a slender body. I was currently dressed in an emerald green dress with pink roses, white socks, dark green ballet shoes, and a white cardigan. It was perfect for the lovely April weather.

"Masuda-san…", I called as I turned away from the window.

"Hai, Mikoto-sama?"

Mr. Masuda was Japanese and used to be Mom's butler while she lived in Japan, but when she got married and moved to America, Mr. Masuda came along to keep serving her. He was almost two meter tall, had yellowish skin like most Asians, and had short half-black and half-grey hair and dark eyes, and he was currently growing a small grey mustache that suit his age, since he was fifty-five years old. He was dressed in a black butler suit with a white undershirt, a black bow tie, and brown shoes.

"Is Dad coming home today?"

"Forgive me, Mikoto-sama, but Robert-sama will travel overseas to Europe due to business for the rest of the month."

"I see…"

I leant back against the seat and let out a soft sigh. Dad was constantly busy with his company and developing new technology that could help the humanity and bring peace to the world. It felt like it was a long time ago I saw him last time.

The busy streets of New York soon changed into a green and friendly residential neighborhood where rich families lived. The limousine drove to the last property of the street that was surrounded by a large wall with a gate. The gate opened as it sensed the vehicle and Mr. Masuda drove in and headed to the front of the Humphrey Mansion. Once the limousine braked, I grabbed my backpack and stepped out, so Mr. Masuda could park in the garage.

I opened the twin doors to the mansion, only to be greeted by a surprise hug by Dad. "Welcome home, Miko!"

"D-Dad?!" I said, surprised to see him at home. "I thought you were overseas."

Dad let go of me and pushed me softly back so we could look in the eye. Dad was getting close to his late forties and it could be seen by a few grey locks of his thick brown hair. His hazel eyes shone with warmth that complied with his slight tanned skin. He was dressed in a dark red suit with white undershirt and black tie, looking ready to head to the airport any minute with a red suitcase next to him.

"Yeah, but I couldn't head overseas without seeing you first", Dad smiled. "That and I've got a surprise for you."

Dad led me out to the garage where Mr. Masuda and the limousine were waiting for him. The gate to the garage was open, so we stepped inside and were greeted by Grandma, Grandpa, and Crystal. Crystal was a maid who had been with us since Mom passed away ten years ago. She was thirty years old and was at the average height of an American woman. She had long caramel blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. She was dressed in a black and long maid outfit with a white apron, and a pair of black pumps.

Grandpa had short and thick grey hair, green eyes, and tanned skin. He was slightly shorter than Crystal, but had lots of spirit despite being seventy years old. In fact, he used to own the company that Dad had, but he gave it to his son when he retired more than fifteen years ago. He was dressed in a vermilion-colored sweater, dark brown pants, black shoes, and a white laboratory coat.

Grandma was only an inch shorter than Grandpa and also had grey hair, but hers was a bit curly and reached to her shoulders. Her eyes were hazel and she had fair skin. She was dressed in a sky blue blouse with short sleeves, white skirt, and royal blue mules.

What surprised me the most was the stylish motorbike that stood in the middle of the garage. It was a naked bike in my favorite color scheme; magenta, purple, and white. While I gaped at it in disbelief and joy, I slowly came to a realization why it looked so familiar and it made me a bit sad.

"Dad… Is that…?" I began slowly.

"Yes, Miko. It's a replica of your mother's motorbike", Dad confessed as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "I know it might bring you bad memories, but your mother would love to see you live your life and do your best at what you love to do. You've been wishing to ride a motorbike for a while and now you're old enough to do so."

I turned around and hugged Dad around his waist, digging my face onto his chest, while some tears ran down my cheeks. "Arigatou, Otōsan…"

"I still don't like this", Grandma shook her head in disapproval. "Shouko passed away because of this Rolls-Royce. I don't want to lose my only grandchild."

"Dear, calm down", Grandpa said in a calm voice as he wrapped an arm around her waist. "It's true we lost Shouko while she was on a bike, but the one's at fault at that time was the driver of the truck. I'm sure nothing'll happen to Miko as long as she stays high-alert and wears the correct gear."

"Robert-sama, it is time to leave", Mr. Masuda spoke up.

"Yes, Masuda", Dad nodded before he gave me one more hug. "Take care, my little maiden. And be careful with the bike. You don't want to give your grandmother a heart-attack, do you?"

"Of course not, Dad", I chuckled lightly.

Dad turned to Crystal. "Crystal, look after my daughter while I'm away."

"As always, Mr. Robert", Crystal nodded.

Mr. Masuda put Dad's suitcase in the trunk of the limousine as Dad got into the vehicle. The butler went to the driver seat and got in before turning on the engine. My grandparents, Crystal, and I waved Dad goodbye as the limousine left the property.

"Now, then!" Grandma clapped her hands. "I know you want to drive the Rolls-Royce, Mikoto, but you've got the whole weekend to do so. The first thing you need to do is to do your homework and improve your grades."

"Dear, aren't you being a bit too strict now?" Grandpa laughed sheepishly.

"Nonsense, Mark! I just want Mikoto to have good grades", Grandma said before turning to me. "Mikoto, see the Rolls-Royce as a reward when you finish the homework."

"Okay, Grandma", I nodded with a tiny smile. "I'll go to my bedroom and start studying right away."

"Good girl", Grandma smiled. "In the meantime, Crystal and I'll make some snacks for you. Crystal."

"Yes, Veronica", Crystal bowed slightly.

"Will I get some snacks too, dear?" Grandpa asked with puppy eyes.

"Of course, Mark dear."

I giggled at the love between Grandma and Grandpa as I walked back to the mansion with Crystal and my grandparents behind me. I headed straight to my bedroom and put my backpack on the floor, leaning against my desk with chair and laptop. I went to my bed and sat down at the edge, letting out a small sigh. I turned to the nightstand and looked at the picture frame that had a photo of my late mother. She used to be a beautiful woman with long and thin black hair, brown eyes, and yellowish skin. In this photo, she was dressed in a red dress that ruffled in the air as she danced around in a flower meadow.

Mom used to be a famous international singer and was very passionate with music. She taught me how to play guitar and sing when I was three years old, and the interest kept growing over the years. After she passed away, I had a hard time even looking at the guitar she had given to me, but one day I picked it up and sang her first song for Dad and everyone else in the mansion. It brought everyone to tears, even me, and I swore I sensed Mom's spirit for a brief moment before the feeling faded away.

"I miss you, Okāsan…", I mumbled with a small sad smile. "I promise I'll do my best to find my dream and achieve it, just like you did."

I stood up from the bed and stretched my body before heading to the desk to start doing the homework so I could take out my motorbike on a spin.

XXXXXXXXXX – Sonic's POV

I was running towards Dr. Eggman's base to stop his evil plans once again. He had gone so far he had even kidnapped Cream and Cheese to use them as bait.

Eggman was constantly trying to defeat me and rule Mobius by building his Eggman Empire, which he never once succeeded so far. However, this time, there were worrisome rumors going around. He had not just found all seven Chaos Emeralds, but he had also found an artifact that was said to be connected to the Emeralds and even the Master Emerald.

If that was true, I had to stop him before he could use the Chaos Emeralds and the artifact to destroy our home.

Tails and Amy were flying in the Tornado while I ran across fields and forests to get to Eggman's base. Knuckles didn't want to come on the rescue mission, but I knew he was still following me far behind, since deep inside he had a slightly soft heart.

The alarms were howling as giant robots aimed their weapons at me as I approached the base. Laser beams and bullets rained around me as I dashed past the robots, dodging everything with ease.

However, I fell into a booby-trap that sent me flying into the air and a robot punched me so hard I was flying out of the base. Luckily, Tails came flying with the Tornado and threw me a Ring, which I caught in the mid-air. The Ring gave me the extra-boost I needed, so I used Homing Attack to destroy the robots and broke myself into Eggman's base.

The base was going into lockdown, but I spin-dashed through the gates as if they were made of paper. The robots in the base tried stopping me, but I destroyed them all before reaching the main room.

Dr. Eggman was there with his robot servants, and Cream and Cheese were there too, but inside a glass cage. There was also a big machine that contained the seven Chaos Emeralds and, what appeared to be, a fossilized artifact that looked like a belt with seven tiny gemstones in the middle.

"It's over, Eggman!" I exclaimed. "You won't get away with your new scheme!"

"On the contrary, Blue Boy!" Eggman laughed as he pulled up a trigger button. "All I have to do is to push this little button to activate the Energy Amplifier!"

"Well, let's see if I can grab it before you can push it!" I replied cocky.

Eggman first looked concerned before his malicious smirk grew back on his lips. "That is if you can stop my robot first."

I quickly looked over my shoulder to see one of the robots that had survived my assault. It fired at me, but I ran around while dodging the bullets. I made sure the bullets weren't aimed at Cream and Cheese while trying to sabotage Egg-head's equipment. I landed in front of him, making his robot aim its fire weapon at him.

"No! Hold your fire!" Eggman panicked at the robot while I swore I heard a click noise right behind me.

I jumped away just before the robot fired at me. Eggman ducked to dodge the bullets while I jumped over to Cream and Cheese to try getting them out. When Eggman straightened up, I noticed he had already pushed the button to the Energy Amplifier!

"Too late, Sonic! You've lost!" Eggman laughed before his smile dropped.

The Energy Amplifier had holes due to the bullets from the robots and the machine was smoking. White sparks erupted from the machine as the seven Chaos Emeralds shone in a bright light. The artifact in the middle began glowing along with the Emeralds and shed its stone-skin to reveal a black belt with seven colorful gemstones.

"Something's terribly wrong!" Eggman yelled.

The Chaos Emeralds and the artifact unleashed a bright white light that swallowed all of us. I tried to stay awake, but the energy of the Chaos Emeralds blacked me out.

XXXXXXXXXX – Mikoto's POV

It had been a couple of weeks since I got my motorbike from my dad. The weather was still a bit chilly, but it was getting warmer since it was close to May. Dad was still overseas for business, but he always made sure to call me every day to talk to me, even if it was just five minutes.

I learned quickly how to drive the motorbike, and so I could use it to drive to school instead of bothering Mr. Masuda to drive me back and forth.

I was currently at the beach in the early evening, watching the beautiful sunset and the marvelous colors of orange, pink, and purple. Since it was still chilly, I was dressed in a magenta tank top, brown leather jacket, black pants, and grey boots. My hair was down, so it ruffled along with the wind whenever a soft gust blew by me.

The beach was a very special place to me. Mom often brought me here so I could play around, swim in the water, build sandcastles, and collect seashells. I had many wonderful memories from those lovely times, and I was going to keep carrying them in my heart.

I took a deep breath to smell the salty water of the ocean as I walked across the shore. Seagulls were flying in the sky, crying out to their mates and companions. The waves from the ocean splashed onto the sand before drawing back, bringing along some seashells and seagrass.

I walked towards some cliffs by the beach when I noticed something odd in the water nearby. It looked like a black eel, but at closer inspection it was something else. I glared softly as I suspected it was trash. Why couldn't people take better care of their trash and stop polluting Mother Nature?

I climbed up the cliffs and down to the water where I could reach for the trash. I pulled up the right sleeve of the jacket before crouching down to get the trash. The waves made it harder for me to reach it and I thought it was going to make it to the ocean, but I managed to grab it in the last second.

I pulled the trash out of the water. It looked like a black leather belt with seven greyish gemstones. It didn't look old or tarnished; in fact, it looked like it was recently produced. I looked for a name tag and initials to see if I could give the belt back to the rightful owner.

It had none of those. Did this mean someone threw it away just like that? What a waste.

I didn't know why, but I felt almost enchanted by the belt. It was like it was calling to me. Maybe it wouldn't hurt if I had it on me. It felt pretty much dry, despite it was in water just now. The belt fit around my waist as if it had been made for me.

I snapped the belt by the clip and it didn't feel loose around me. It may be a bit odd that I had something on me that was in the ocean and could be considered garbage slash trash, but that feeling soon faded away.

I walked back to where I had parked my motorbike when I heard a familiar ping. I picked up my smartphone from the pocket of my jacket and checked what was going on. There were several news reports about a weird blue creature that was running around downtown New York City and the New York City Police Department was chasing it. There were a few picture added, so I took a closer look at.

It was hard to see the creature because it looked like a blue blur in the pictures. It must be very fast, maybe even faster than a cheetah. Did such a creature even live on the planet? Could it be an alien? No, that was just impossible.

I put back the smartphone in the pocket and grabbed my dark purple helmet from the seat of the bike. I had to go home now, or else I would get grounded by Grandma. I knew she was worried about me, but sometimes it was a bit too much. I mean, I wasn't one of those bad kids who were going around late night doing crazy stuff.

I put the helmet on, climbed onto the bike, ignited the engine, and drove off as the night sky came crawling above me with millions of stars and the moon.

XXXXXXXXXX – Sonic's POV

I had no idea how in Mobius I ended up in a city. When I woke up, I had to jump around not to get hit by cars until they braked in front of me. Once I got my mind back, I took in the environment around me as I stood in the middle of the road. There were tall skyscrapers and huge display screens that I had never seen before on Station Square.

I noticed the inhabitants were humans, but I couldn't spot a single Mobian. I had never heard about a high-tech city where only humans lived and no Mobians. They all acted like I was an alien, and some looked even scared. I realized they spoke my language as several humans dressed in the same outfit, which I suspected were the police, tried to apprehend me. I didn't like the idea, so I ran off to get to a quiet place and process everything. Sadly, the police chased me, but I was able to shake them off.

I was now sitting at the top of a street lamp as I looked at the night sky and the silver moon. The sky looked the same as on Mobius, so I assumed I had traveled through space, and possibly time. Was it because of Chaos Control back at Dr. Eggman's case? Did the Chaos Emeralds sent me here?

What about the others? Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, and Knuckles? Were they here on the same planet? Or were they…gone?

No, I was sure they were all alive, but we got separated. Maybe they were in this city. Maybe they were in the next city, or in another country. I just had to run across the planet and find them.

"Now, time to find a place to crash!" I spoke to myself as I jumped off the street lamp.

I was about to run off when I saw a light approaching me on the highway and the sound of an engine reaching my ears. I squinted and saw a motorbike coming closer, but it didn't look like one of those the police had before.

The motorbike came to a halt a few meters from me. The rider had a helmet and I couldn't see the face through the visor. They got slowly off the motorbike, as if they were trying to act carefully around me.

The human moved the visor up, revealing a pair of kind green eyes. "Hi", they greeted with a female voice. "Are you the Blue Blur from the news?"

I guess she had heard about me, but that didn't matter. It was probably the best if I didn't interact with the humans of this world. I turned around to leave and find a safe place to rest until sunrise.

"Wait!" the human called.

I stopped in my tracks and turned back to her. She removed her helmet to reveal green hair that reached her shoulder blades and her whole face. "Are you here all by yourself? Are you hurt somewhere?"

I cast a cautious glance at her. She sounded curious and seemed friendlier than the police, but I was still careful and didn't speak a word.

"Do you understand me?" the human continued.

I just blinked my eyes.

The human tilted her head slight to the side and gave me a small smile. "You know… Even though you're not answering my questions, I feel like you can understand me. You have this intelligent aura around you. You look like a blue hedgehog, but you feel a bit human, so I guess you're an… anthropomorphic animal."

Heh… This human sounded smart. She reminded me briefly of Tails. She had now grabbed my curiosity.

XXXXXXXXXX – Mikoto's POV

I never thought I was going to encounter the mysterious Blue Blur on my way home. Now that I was close to it, I took in its features. It looked like a blue humanoid hedgehog and seemed to reach up to my waist. The only thing it had as attire were a pair of white gloves and red sneakers with pointed toes, white sock-like cuffs, and a white strap over their middles with gold buckles.

I tried communicating with it, but it seemed cautious. I couldn't blame it; it was probably scared and had no idea what was going on. Therefore, I took it slowly and spoke with a calm voice. As I kept talking, I saw it was relaxing its body, which told me I was getting its trust.

The silence got broken by the familiar sirens of the police cars in the distance. I looked over my shoulder and saw the flashlights of the police patrol cars and even a chopper flying above them.

"Uh-oh… Not good", I cold sweated before turning to the hedgehog. "Come with me! I know a safe place!"

I put on the helmet and pulled down the visor as I jumped onto the motorbike. I ignited the engine and drove past the hedgehog to leave the highway. I glanced down at the side mirrors and saw the hedgehog was running after me, but the police cars were catching up on us.

I exited the highway and drove to the slightly poorer part of the city where old several buildings were slowly getting demolished by each day. The area was off-limits, but it was the only place I could come up with for cover until everything could cool down.

I drove recklessly and turned in sharp corners so hard the wheels threw dirt around. The hedgehog was still behind me, and so were the police too. I had to chase them off, so I drove into thin alleyways where the vehicles couldn't drive through.

The hedgehog and I shook off the police cars, but the chopper was still following us. I spotted an underground tunnel up ahead, so I drove into it with the hedgehog following me. The tunnel led down almost to the sewer, but I turned in a corner and drove into a side-tunnel. The tunnel went for a few miles until we made it to the surface, but in another part of the city. It was still dark and few people around, but it was best to stay in the shadows.

I recognized the street and I knew there was an abandoned workshop nearby. I braked in front of the closed workshop just as the hedgehog stopped right next to me.

"Hurry! Help me out a bit!" I told him, I assumed it was a male, as I grabbed the handle to push up the gate.

The hedgehog helped me push it up so I could roll my motorbike inside. Once it was safe and secured, I pushed down the gate, trapping the two of us inside the workshop. It was dark and quiet, and old tools and equipment were scattered around the place. There were only two windows in total, so I led the hedgehog to the counter where the spotlight of the chopper couldn't reach us.

I sat down on my knees and let out a soft sigh before I removed my helmet and put it on my lap. "We should be safe here for a while."

"Yeah", a young boy's voice spoke up next to me. "Thanks for the help."

I turned to the blue hedgehog and saw he was giving me a thumbs up. "You're welcome", I smiled softly. "I knew you could talk and understand me. Also, you're very fast to keep up with me and my bike."

"Well, I am the fastest thing alive", the hedgehog bragged with a grin.

"I see…"

I jumped slightly when I heard the familiar ringtone of my smartphone. I picked it up from my jacket and saw it was Grandma calling. I denied the call and turned the phone off in case the police was going to try track me down by my number.

"We should stay low and wait for things to calm down", I told the hedgehog. "We might be stuck here for a few hours… Umm… Do you have a name?"

"Yeah, it's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog."

"Sonic, huh? My name is Mikoto, but you can call me Miko for short."

"Okay, Miko. Thanks a lot for your help. Once the commotion is over, I'll leave and find another place to rest. But this place doesn't look that bad."

"You don't have a place to stay?"

"Nah. Not that I really need a roof over my head. I need to find my friends."

"So there's more of your kind?"

"Yeah."

"Would you like to tell me more? Maybe I can help you out, and we can spend the time by talking."

I got to hear Sonic's story and was in awe when he said he came from another planet called Mobius. According to him, Mobius was extremely similar to Earth, except creatures like him lived alongside humans, and the planet was constantly under danger by this notorious scientist known as Dr. Eggman. Sonic tried saving two of his friends while trying to stop Dr. Eggman from using these mysterious Chaos Emeralds to power up an Energy Amplifier with the help of a fossilized artifact. However, something went wrong and Chaos Control occurred, which sent Sonic to Earth. He suspected his friends got sent here too, so I offered him my help to search for his friends. He accepted the offer with a small high-five.

The clock was almost midnight when Sonic and I made it to my family mansion. We stopped by the front of the gates to the property as I got off the motorbike. "Okay, Sonic. My room is on the left side of the mansion. It has a balcony, so you should climb up there to avoid my family."

"Right", Sonic nodded.

I opened the gate slowly to make as little noise as possible before rolling my motorbike into the property. Sonic ran as fast as the wind to my balcony as I took care of the rest. I closed the gate and rolled the motorbike to the dark garage.

The garage was closed, so I pushed the button to roll up the gate. Just as it was completely open, the lights turned on to reveal Grandma and Grandpa standing next to the limousine, both of them having stern expressions while dressed in their pyjamas.

"Grandma! Grandpa!" I exclaimed in shock, not expecting to get caught.

"Young lady, you've got a lot to explain", Grandma said as she tapped her right foot impatiently.

"I… I'm sorry I'm late, but I had to-"

"It's over midnight and on a school day!" Grandma continued. "Do you know how worried I was when I couldn't reach you on the phone?"

I cursed at myself inwardly when I remembered I never turned my phone back on after the coast got clear. "I'm sorry, Grandma, Grandpa."

"You should be, Miko", Grandpa shook his head disappointingly. "But then again, this is the first time you've passed your curfew, since you've always behaved."

"Still, you must face the consequences", Grandma interrupted. "Mikoto Narita-Humphrey, you're grounded for a whole week."

"A week…?" I mumbled before nodding. "Okay."

"That means no bike, no school, but lots of study", Grandma added.

"Dear, aren't you being a little bit too strict…?" Grandpa asked.

"Mark, honey, Mikoto needs to learn to face the consequences for her actions", Grandma shook her head. "On the first day, you're confided to your room, but after that you can walk around in the house and in the garden, but not leave the property. Understand?"

"I understand, Grandma…", I bowed my head a bit.

After the scolding, I was finally able to secure my motorbike and headed to the main mansion to my bedroom. It was dark and silent and the drapery was covering the glass door leading to the balcony. I pulled them aside and opened the glass door before walking out. Sonic wasn't on the balcony, so I looked up at the roof.

There he was, lying on his back with his hands resting at the back of his quills and resting one of his legs over the other.

"Sonic…?" I called in a low voice.

Sonic opened one eye and looked down at me. "You okay, Miko? I heard some angry voices talking to you back at the garage."

"I'm fine, Sonic. But because I passed my curfew, I'm grounded and can't leave the house for a week."

"Man, that stinks."

I nodded slowly. "That means I can't help you look for your friends for seven days, but you're always welcome to stay here as long as you stay away from my grandparents and the employees working in the mansion."

"No worries. They won't see me up here."

I smiled softly. "Well, I need to change and catch a few hours of rest. I'll see you in the morning, okay?"

"Alright then. G'night."

"Oyasumi, Sonic."

"Oya-what?"

"It means 'good night' in Japanese."

Sonic gave me a toothy smile before I stepped into my room. I shut the glass door and locked it before pulling the drapery to cover the surface. I walked over to my wardrobe and began changing clothes for the night.

I unclipped the belt I found on the beach and inspected it one more time. I didn't know why, but I felt attached to it. It was like a voice in the back of my head told me to keep it safe and hide it from everyone. I shrugged and opened a drawer before putting the belt away.

Once I had my dark green pyjamas on me, I crawled onto my bed and under the covers. I didn't realize how tired I actually was until my head rested on the pillow.

So much happened in just a short amount of time; I found this mysterious belt, met Sonic, and now I was going to help him look for his friends while trying to keep him secretly from my family. I had a feeling the last part was going to be tricky, but it was worth a shot.
