CHAPTER 1

Beckman and Graham might have seen Chuck as just a whiny geek that had a certain usefulness lifespan. What they didn't know, what nobody but his best friend was that he was the best hacker in the world. He was the Piranha

The one hacker that had the respect of all other hackers. In the time he had hacked, the government had never even come close to finding out who he was. The only reason he had given up his hacking ways, was his sister had walked in on him during one of his hacking sessions. While she had no idea that he was the best. She didn't like it and forced him to give it up.

While he had promised to give up hacking to make his big sis happy. He had begun to grow suspicious of Beckman and Graham. He had learned of their orders to Casey to kill him once the new intersect was up. He had hacked their computers and recorded their video chats with Casey. It meant the world to him that Casey had tried talking them out of it.

However he knew he couldn't count on his friend to keep him alive. So he had come up with his own plan. He dug up all kinds of dirt on two agency leaders. Stuff that made him ill to look at. But would put them in the most top secret high security prisons for the rest of their lives. Should the right person get their hands on the info.

He'd sent them both emails with samples of just of the tamest stuff he'd found that could lock them away for life. Telling them who he was and how he was now a watch dog for the greater good.

How if they didn't not only cancel their plans to kill Chuck. But set it up for Agent Sarah Walker and Chuck Bartowski to move in together. As well as just have it be for Sarah to protect Chuck and them never go on a mission again. Plus give them the green light to explore any feelings they may have for each other. He would release everything that was much, much worse than what he had sent to them.

Both had been quick to respond demanding a video chat with them. Chuck of course had refused this. He let them know under no certain terms that he was the one in control. If his demands weren't met within a certain time frame. He would not only take their jobs away from them. But their freedom as well.

Chuck of course was not an idiot. He not only made it so that the emails couldn't be traced back to his apartment. He made it so that even if they were suspicious of him, they would find no trace of the emails or any of the evidence on his laptop.

They were broken up into tiny little pieces and hidden inside several programs, and only he would know how to find and put them back together. He also hacked the bugs in his room. The video and audio feed played in a loop so it looked like he was asleep during the times the emails were sent.

A couple of days after he'd started emailing them, Casey took his laptop from him. Giving him the excuse that he needed to take it to get some government geeks to give it a routine once over.

Just to make sure he hadn't been hacked or had anything on there he shouldn't. Chuck wasn't worried and he got it back a couple of days later. There were signs that someone had tried to find something but hadn't been able to.

Beckman and Graham had two days to meet his deadline. He was currently in his room getting dressed for the day. Sarah was supposed to come over and have breakfast with him, Devon, and Ellie. She was then going to drive them both to work and then Casey would give him a ride home from work.

He couldn't help but smile when he hears a knock at the door. While he knew things between them aren't real right now. He would take any time with her he could get. He also couldn't help but hope that would be changing sometime soon.

He quickly threw on a shirt before heading for the door. When he opened it he saw Sarah standing there in her work outfit, her hair up in pigtails looking lost and confused. Chuck fearing his plan had backfired and she was getting pulled from the assignment, he grabs her arm and pulls her inside.

Once she is inside and the door is closed he quietly asks her. "Is everything ok?" Sarah nods her head before quietly telling him. "Let's go to your room to talk right quick." She grabs his hand and laces his fingers with hers before leading him into his room.

When they get inside Sarah closes the door before pulling out the device that controls the bugs from her purse. She presses the button that turns off the bugs before telling him.

"Ok Chuck I turned the bugs off. I need you to be honest with me about something. Did you do something to get Beckman and Graham to not only get them to arrange us to move in together. But also take us off of missions as well as green light a relationship between us?"

Chuck had known that there was a chance that Sarah would confront him. While he hated lying to her. He feared what her reaction would be when she learned the truth about the fate Beckman and Graham had planned for him. So to keep them from having to go on the run. As he knew that was what would happen if he was honest with her. He lied giving the best confused look he could give her.

"Of course not Sarah, I'm just a geek that likes video games and knows how to fix computers. What could I possible have done to get Beckman and Graham to possibly agree to any of that?" Sarah didn't buy it and tells him.

"Stop lying to me. Either be honest with me right now, or I go to Beckman and Graham. Tell them I just can't give into my feelings for you and still protect you and request a transfer." Chuck could see that she was totally serious so he tells her.

"I didn't have a choice Sarah they were going to kill me." Sarah looks shocked and asks. "Who was going to kill you?" He tells her about how he had found out about Casey's orders to kill him once the new intersect was up. Despite Casey doing his best to change their minds.

When Sarah looks like she doesn't believe him, he has he sit at his computer and hands her a pair of earbuds. He then pulls up the hidden recorded video and has her watch it. He watches as a dark look comes across her face before violently ripping the earbuds out.

She quickly jumps up to her feet, but before she can storm out of the room he grabs her arm. Giving him an icy glare she tells him through gritted teeth. "Let go of me." Chuck shakes his head before telling her.

"You can't do it Sarah. You can't confront Casey he's done what he can to change their minds. He's a friend and doesn't deserve to be in between a rock and a hard place. If you confront Beckman and Graham we'll have to go on the run."

Sarah knowing that he is right forces herself to calm down. "Ok I won't confront them for now. But we are going to need to talk later. When we get off of work I am going to bring you back here to grab an overnight bag.

You are going to bring whatever evidence you also used to get Beckman and Graham to do this. We are going to go back to my place and you are going to explain how you did all of this."

Chuck nods before asking. "What does this mean for us?" Sarah looks at him with a hurt expression before saying. "I don't know right now Chuck." Before he can ask what she means, they hear the sound of someone starting to open his bedroom door.

Sarah reacting quickly grabs a fistful of his shirt and yanks him towards her. She crashes her lips onto his and shoves her tongue into his mouth. While it just looked like a passionate make out session to an embarrassed Ellie. Chuck didn't even have to know she was mad at him to know it was an angry kiss.

"Oh sorry guys didn't mean to interrupt, just wanted to let you know breakfast is ready." Sarah breaks the kiss before turning to look at the other woman with a smile on her face. "No worries Ellie."

She then grabs Chuck's hand in a vice like grip before saying. "Come on sweetie I'm starving." Ellie smiles before turning and heading towards the kitchen. Sarah makes sure to turn the bugs back on before they too leave Chuck's room.

Chuck couldn't help but feel miserable the entire time they were having breakfast with Ellie and Devon. While Sarah pretended to be the happy loving girlfriend, he knew deep inside she was hurt. She felt like Chuck didn't trust her, which was the farthest thing from the truth. It pained him to know that he'd hurt her, and he'd do anything he could to make things right with her.

Ellie and Devon were needing to get to work after they finished eating. So Sarah told them to go on and she and Chuck could clean up. Ellie tried saying no but Sarah insisted. So they quickly took their plates, cups and silverware to the kitchen before grabbing their stuff and leaving.

Sarah didn't want to risk raising Casey's suspicions in case he was still monitoring the bugs. So as she stood up from the table to take her stuff to the kitchen, she mouthed out to him to act normal.

They did their best to make small talk while they worked, but the tension in the room was thick. Once they were done Chuck grabbed his stuff for work and they headed for the door. Once they were in her car he looks at her and tells her. "You're wrong."

Sarah with the key in the ignition ready to turn it, doesn't look at him but asks in an icy tone. "Wrong about what Chuck?" Chuck takes a deep breath before saying. "I do trust you Sarah." Sarah quickly turns her head to look at him before saying.

"Really Chuck because from where I'm sitting it sure as hell doesn't look like it. Why, why do I keep doing this? Why do I keep falling for guys who don't trust me enough to let me know what they are going to do before they do it?"

Chuck getting frustrated tells her. "I was trying to protect you Sarah." Sarah lets out a laugh and asks. "Protect me from what Chuck? What could you have possibly protected me from by keeping me in the dark?"

"From having to lie to your bosses should they come to you and ask if you had anything to do with it. If you had known and they had figured out I'm the one who blackmailed them and that you knew what I was going to do, it would have been the end of your career and maybe even seeing you put in prison."

Chuck then bows his head and says. "But now you do know because I couldn't convince you I had no idea what you were talking about. I've been involved with you guys for nearly a year now and you still easily saw right through me."

Sarah had been carefully listening to his words and studying his body language. She knew he was telling her the truth, that he did trust her and was just trying to protect her by knowing too much.

Feeling bad for being so harsh on him and feeling guilty as well, as she knew he wasn't like Bryce he was better. She grabs his chin before leaning over and kissing his cheek. When he looks at her in surprise she tells him.

"Look I'm sorry I know you aren't like Bryce and I shouldn't have said that. I should have known that you are different and were just trying to protect me." When he opens his mouth to say something she tells him.

"Look we really need to get to work and I need a little bit of time to clear my head. On the drive I need to explain how things are going to be different. Later on tonight when we get back to my place, we'll talk about us I promise Ok?" When he nods his head she gives him a quick kiss, before starting her car and pulling away from the apartment complex.

Along the drive Sarah explained how the story was going to be Sarah had gained some money through an inheritance. She had some rich family but she didn't like to brag about coming from money. She wanted to use the money to buy a beach hose in Malibu, and wanted Chuck to move in with her.

The house would be a nice one story that had a basement. The basement would be where she would house weapons. It also would have a gym for her to be able to work out. There wouldn't be any bugs as she would normally always be there with him. If by any chance she couldn't be there Casey would come over to watch him.

When they make it to the Buy More, Sarah gives him a quick kiss and tells him to come meet her on his lunch break. He tells her he will and he gets out and closes the door before she drives away, leaving him feeling hopeful for their future as he walks into the Buy More smiling.

Casey was there in the break room when he walked in. As soon as he was in Casey shuts the door before telling him. "I don't know how you did what you did Bartowski. But I know you somehow got dirt on them both to not only get them to back off the kill order. But you also got them to all you and Walker to start a relationship."

Chuck does his best not to freak out and act like he doesn't know what Casey is talking about. But Casey can see right through him. "Look I'm not going to say anything to Beckman and Graham or anything like that. They were wrong to try to order me to kill you after all you've done. Just don't allow things between you two to make Walker sloppy alright?"

When Chuck nods his head Casey opens the door and starts to walk out. But before he does he looks at Chuck and says. "Oh and Bartowski. You hurt Walker and I hurt you, am I understood?" When Chuck nods his head Casey leave Chuck alone to freak out quietly.

He quickly sends Sarah a text letting her know about the conversation with Casey. He asks her if they need to make a run for it. Sarah told him to hang tight and that she'd be over there in a minute to talk to Casey. To just act normal until after she had talked with Casey and then she'd talk with him. Chuck texted back ok before clocking in and starting his day.

He had just gotten up to the Nerd Herd desk when he sees Sarah walk in. He watches as she quickly gets Casey's attention and the both of them going into the home entertainment area. Chuck stood there waiting for what felt like forever, but in reality was only a few minutes before they came out. Sarah walks over to him and quietly tells him.

"Come with me." Chuck follows Sarah back into the home entertainment area, and Sarah tells him that Casey was on his side. But that Casey would be joining them at her place work, so that they could both see whatever other evidence Chuck had on Beckman and Graham.

When Chuck still looks worried, Sarah cups his face in her hands and tells him. "It's going to be ok, ok?" When Chuck nods his head Sarah smiles and kisses him before going back to work. Chuck does his best to do what Sarah tells him, Which is get back to work and try to relax.

At lunch time Sarah surprises him by bringing food to him. They go into the breakroom which is empty and start eating. As they eat they make small talk about how their they has gone. While Sarah tried to act like nothing was wrong, Chuck could tell something was bothering her.

"Is something wrong Sarah, are you having second thoughts about trusting Casey?" Sarah quickly shakes her head before telling him. "No I'm just nervous about us." Chuck looks confused and asks her. "What do you mean nervous about us?" Sarah puts down her hotdog and licks her lips before telling him.

"How I felt about you I've never felt about anyone else. What I felt about Bryce could never come close to what I felt about you. Now we are going to be living together and have a real relationship. I'm just scared I'm going to do something to mess it all up and end up having you hate me and want another handler."

Chuck grabs Sarah's hand before telling her. "Look I get it, you're scared I'm scared. But being sacred doesn't make me not want to see where things go with you. It makes me want to hold your hand a little tighter and see what the future has in store for us even more."

Sarah smiles at hearing this but Chuck can tell there is still something she isn't telling him. "There's more you aren't telling me isn't there?" Sarah sighs before making sure they are still alone before telling him.

"You know how I told you the basement of the house will have a place for my weapons, as well as a gym?" When Chuck nods his head she tells him. "It will also have a small shooting range. I know you hate guns Chuck. But if we are going to be together and living together, I want to train you on how to help defend ourselves should something suddenly go down."

When Chuck opens his mouth to say something, Sarah cuts him off saying. "Look I'm not saying I want you to become some cold blooded killer. I mainly plan to train you to shoot non vital places. As well as get some tranquilizer guns if that will make you happy.

But the fact of the matter is we are going to be a ways away from Casey or any other help. Should things go down I am going to really need you to be able to back me up." Chuck could see this was really important to Sarah, and he did want to be able to protect her.

So he agrees and she tells him not to say anything about training in front of Beckman or Graham. Casey they could let in on the plan that night, but it wasn't anything their bosses needed to know at the moment. Chuck agrees and the enjoy the rest of their lunch talking about happier stuff.
