All Sparklings Are Important For The Future
Akira smiled as watched her three babies nap peacefully, their small faces calm as happy dreams filled their minds. Wasp, finding his wife in the babies' room, smiled and came up behind her, hugging her to him. "How are they?" He asked softly in her ear.
She smiled. "They're wonderful," she whispered back to him. "Did you ever think that we'd be the parents of triplets when you asked me to be your mate?"
"Honestly, no," he admitted. "But I wanted us to have children."
Akira smiled again. "And now we do," she said.
Wasp chuckled and kissed her. "You surprised me with not one, not two, but three children," he said, smiling at her.
She giggled softly. "Three little angels," she said.
"Yes," he agreed. "And hopefully, there will be no war as they grow up."
"I agree," she said.
They quietly left the room, heading towards the communications computers where Optimus was talking with Ultra Magnus. The red-and-blue leader paused as he saw the couple. "Ah, Akira. Wasp. Ultra Magnus was hoping to speak to you two," he said with a smile.
The two looked at each other before going over to the communications screen and saluting the supreme commander respectfully. "Good afternoon, Commander, Sir," Wasp said.
"Good afternoon, Sir," Akira said before looking curious. "Forgive my curiosity, but may we inquire why you wanted to talk to us?"
Ultra Magnus smiled gently. "Optimus informs me that you two have recently become the parents of triplets," he said. "Is that true?"
"Yes, Sir," Wasp said, standing up a bit straighter. "Two sons and one daughter."
The Commander heard the fatherly pride in the former 'Con's voice and smiled again. "The Elite Guard will be arriving on Earth in a few days," he said. "I was wondering if perhaps you two could bring the children for us to meet."
Akira and Wasp were surprised, but then pensive. "Sir, you are aware of their heritage, correct?" The femme asked.
Ultra Magnus had an understanding look on his face. "I am aware you were once human, Akira, and that Wasp was once a Decepticon, but has changed," he said gently. "Your children will not be judged on that. Sparklings are too precious in our world." He paused. "If I remember right, Akira, you are the daughter of a Decepticon who refused to have you raised as one."
"That is true, sir," she said.
He smiled gently. "You needn't worry about your children being rejected," he said.
"Sir, what about Sentinel Prime?" Wasp asked, grimacing as he spoke the name. "With all due respect, I don't want that tin can saying anything bad about my children."
"I will speak with him before we land," the Commander promised before smiling. "The Jet Twins and Jazz will be with us as well and the Twins have expressed interest in meeting the triplets."
Akira felt relief fill her at that. She knew Jazz was a good bot and the Twins were equally good. "Then we shall see you all in a few days, Sir?" She asked.
"Yes," he confirmed. "Have a good day."
With that, he signed off and Wasp felt a bit of worry fill him. "Sentinel better behave himself and there's no way I'm letting the children out of my sight if he's around," he said fiercely.
Optimus nodded, feeling the same way. "Don't worry, Wasp. Ultra Magnus won't let anything happen to the sparklings and Jazz and the Twins have soft spots for young ones," he said.
"Good," Akira said before looking curious. "I wonder if the Twins want to meet our children because they are unique like them."
"No doubt," Wasp said with a chuckle before he had another worry. "I hope they don't make fun of Bumblespark's optics."
They had recently found out that their youngest son had heterochromia, meaning he had two different colored optics. His left optic was blue and his right optic was green. To have two different colored optics was unusual for a Cybertronian, though it could happen.
"I'll kick anyone who dares to make fun of my children," Akira hissed protectively.
Wasp's stingers came out to show that he'd deal with anyone who dared to say anything bad about his sparklings and Optimus nodded, feeling equally protective of the little ones.
A few days later...
The Elite Guard flagship landed outside of the Autobot base and Optimus led Akira and Wasp on board, the femme carrying her daughter while the mech carried his two sons. The sparklings seemed to sense something was going to happen and were quiet, snuggling into their parents' arms. "Shh, it's alright, my little ones," Wasp cooed to his sons.
"Everything's alright," Akira said soothingly to her daughter, though she was nervous. Wasp felt equally nervous as they entered the main control room where Ultra Magnus, Sentinel Prime, Jazz, Jetstorm, and Jetfire were waiting for them. Optimus gave them a respectful salute, as did the two parents.
"Welcome back to Earth," Optimus said.
"Thank you, Optimus," Ultra Magnus said, seeing Akira and Wasp behind the red-and-blue bot. "Akira. Wasp. Come forward, please."
Looking at each other before each taking a deep breath, the two stepped forward with their sparklings. Sentinel looked disgusted.
"Sir, surely you're not letting these things be near us, are you?" He asked. "They're the abominations of a 'Con and a human."
Akira glared at him. "Watch your tone around my children," she snapped at him.
"And you know very well I'm an Autobot now, Sentinel," Wasp said, his tone firm.
The blue Prime scoffed. "Once a 'Con, always a 'Con," he sneered. "And look at that one. It's got two different eyes."
Akira had had enough and she gave Hotaru to Optimus before turning to Sentinel, her eyes flashing with anger. Jazz quickly got between the two of them, glaring at Sentinel. "Didn't she just ask you to watch your tone around her children?" He asked, feeling angered that the blue Prime was being so derogatory.
"Enough," Ultra Magnus said. "Sentinel, would you check to make sure the ship is working properly?"
The blue Prime glared at Akira and Wasp again. "Yes, Sir," he ground out before heading away.
Jazz turned to Akira. "You okay?" He asked.
She took a deep breath. "I am now that he's gone," she said.
Jetstorm and Jetfire were looking at the sparklings in awe. "Triplets," Jetstorm said softly.
"They be adorable," Jetfire said, equally softly.
Hearing the two, Hornet and Hotaru reached for them and the Twins looked at Wasp and Akira. "It be alright if brother and I hold them?" Jetstorm asked.
Smiling at them, Akira nodded, as did Wasp, who gently handed Hornet to Jetfire while the blue Twin accepted Hotaru from Optimus. The oldest sparkling looked up at the orange Twin and smiled, snuggling into his arms. "He trusts you," Wasp said with a smile.
Hotaru was curious about Jetstorm's visor and ran her hands over his face, making him chuckle, which made her giggle.
Bumblespark, seeing his siblings were getting attention, whimpered a little as he wanted some attention too, but was unsure about the new bots. Akira went over to her sparkmate and youngest son, accepting the young mech in her arms. "Shh, it's okay, my little one," she soothed.
Jazz came up to them with a smile. "He's a cute one," he said.
Hearing the kind voice, Bumblespark looked up at the white ninja bot curiously before reaching for him. Jazz looked at Akira for permission and she nodded, gently placing her youngest son in the ninja's arms. The young mech seemed to settle down right away and looked content while Jazz was curious. "I've only heard of some mechs and femmes having two different-colored optics," he admitted. "It means they're very unique."
The two parents were grateful for the mech's kind words and Ultra Magnus smiled at the scene before the three sparklings seemed to noticed him and looked awed, reaching for him. Akira and Wasp chuckled at this before nodding to Jazz and the Twins, who brought the sparklings over to the Supreme Commander, who sat down as the three sparklings were placed in his lap, his arms coming around them gently to keep them from falling over.
"It's a blessing to see new life since the war began," he said. "Congratulations, Wasp and Akira."
"Thank you, Sir," Wasp said and Akira bowed her head in thanks as the sparklings didn't seem to mind sitting in the lap of the Supreme Commander. In fact, they were snuggling into his sides and arms, making him chuckle.
"That means they trust you," Akira said, smiling.
Ultra Magnus nodded before looking at the parents. "Raise them well," he said with a smile. "They are important for the future, as are all sparklings."
Both parents nodded before chuckling at seeing the sparklings had fallen asleep on the Supreme Commander, apparently deeming his sides to be a good place to snuggle in and take a nap. The other bots smiled at seeing this too, seeing the sparklings as a hopeful sign for a bright future.
I think I just had a cuteness overload. :)
