Chapter one
Percy POV Prologue # 1
Sometimes, I feel like my life is un-deservingly hard.
You know, how I was thought, to be the only child of Poseidon? (other than Cyclopes)
Well, that's what I thought—intel a bit ago. When Chiron detected something really weird in Seattle.
A demigod.
My sister.
You can imagine what my reaction was. I thought this wasn't real, I mean Poseidon wouldn't have more kids, right? She's a lot younger than me, but only by a few years.
Huh, yeah. How's that for weird?
And, this is how it happened.
Poseidon daughter POV prologue #2
I'm Rubi. And I'm not your average ten year old girl.
Weird things have happened to me all my life, people eyeing me from across the road creepily, objects moving, creepy eyes glowing in darkness, and I always feel like I'm being watched. Did I mention, that I'm practically allergic to EVERYTHING? Wheat, dairy, pine trees, pineapples, blackberries, mold, some type of bacteria I can't pronounce. I could go on, but I'm pretty sure I'm boring you all ready.
You probably don't believe me about all the objects moving, eyes glowing thingys, I'm jealous of you.
Yup. I'm really weird.
Here it goes, I'm gonna tell you the story that I've never told before. Phew... settle in.
It all started with the creepy girl at the mall. Yeah, super exciting...not. Sometimes I wish it could start with something cooler, like me having a cool vision, or me having some kind of hidden magical power triggered—nope. Creepy girl at the mall. Another thing I can complain about, great.
I walked through the tile floors of the Seattle mall, shopping for new shoes for my cousin's birthday present.
Mom stopped at the high heel isle, looking for the right size my aunt recommended. Now, one thing you should know about me, is that I'm not the kind of girl who freaks out about pretty pink dresses, or glitter, I'm more of an athletic adventurous girl. The kind who laughs at girly blegh stuff. So, while my mom looked for pink heels, I walked over to the jacket section, to look for a new winter jacket to replace my old one.
A fan blows in my face as I look at the size for a warm aviator jacket, blowing my dirty blonde hair into my face. A piece of my thin hair gets in my mouth, and I spit it out, irritated. Then I realize I'm making a scene, and like five random grownups are looking at me weird as I spit my saliva all over my hair.
Oops.
Oh well, I think, ignoring them.
Soon after I resumed my jacket inspection, a hear something behind me. I turn around to see a young girl, only a bit older than me, sniffing me with interest.
"Hmmm... peculiar smell—another half blood. Ugh. Can those supersized morons quit their fooling around for once. Foolish—" I cut her off.
"Go away," was all I said, and I took the jacket I found over to mom.
I'm sure it was a trick of the light, but I swear I saw her eyes flash red. But I'm used to things like that, so I doubt it was accurate.
"Hi mom. Can we leave now?" I ask, as she eyes a pair of purple heels.
"Soon hon," she said. "I think I've found a pair Felisha will like—but aunt Cate said that she liked blue. Never mind. Let's go."
I fight the urge to sigh with relief.
Just another day...
Well, it gets weirder.
Have you ever seen someone with furry goat feet, or am I just crazy...?
Hi! Hope you liked it! Leave a comment if you want.
