We all wanna be somebody. We just need a taste of who we are. We all wanna be somebody. We're willing to go but not that far - Thousand Foot Krutch: Be somebody
Ben Tennyson walked through the crowd of people in Jump City, with his hands in his pockets and his hood over his head. The Eleven-year-old didn't know anything about this city when he first spotted it. To him, it looked like a weird combination to Boston and San Francisco, but decided to check it out. It wasn't like he would be staying long. He had to keep moving. He was a tourist. All alone and on his own, and he would prefer it that way.
The boy came to a stop in front of a TV store as he saw TVs through the glass window. The news was on and was going on about how much crime is active in Jump City. According to the news station, it's about as the same rate as Gotham City.
Crime was everywhere though, no matter where he went, and even by himself, even without his grandpa to guide him or his cousin to nag him, he still played the hero role. Protecting others from danger and putting the bad guys in their place.
That's what he used to do in his former hometown, Bellwood...
Ben shook his head when that thought crossed his mind and continued on through the streets.
His stomach grumbled before placing a hand over it. He was hungry.
He wondered if there was a restaurant around where he could get a good meal.
The boy started walking around until he found a diner that looked promising.
He walked in the diner and looked around see that there weren't many people, which was fine with him.
Ben went over to a nearby table and took a seat before picking up a menu and looking it over.
A moment passed before a waitress came over with a notepad, "You want anything, sug?"
"Uh, yeah. I'll just have the simple cheeseburger with fries," Ben told her, "And a chocolate milkshake,"
The waitress wrote down his order. She looked to him, "You look a little young to be on your own, kid. Is it just you?"
"Yeah, I am. I just came from New York to visit my aunt Vera," Ben lied.
"How'd you get here in Jump City?" The waitress asked.
"Airplane, duh," Ben snorted.
"Why couldn't she come pick you up then?" The waitress asked.
"She's a little sick, and-and her car's broken, and her car isn't far either so I walked. I got hungry on the way and decided to come here for a bite to eat," The young boy explained, continuing to lie.
The waitress hummed, "Alright then. I'll come back with your order," With that, she walked away.
Ben sighed in relief, glad that she bought it.
The young tourist slouched in his seat and unzipped his backpack, pulling out a half charged game console and he started to play his all-time favorite, Sumo Slammers, as he waited.
The waitress eventually came back with his meal as he thanked the waitress. He turned his game off and picked his cheeseburger about to take a huge bite, until-
BOOM! Everything shook as if it was an earthquake.
"Whoa! What the-?!" Ben looked out the window and saw that it came from outside. The citizens were crowding around something. Ben wasted no time dashing out to see what was all the commotion.
His eyes widened, seeing that everyone was standing out a huge crater in front of a pizza place with green smoke coming out.
What the hell is that? He thought.
The smoke started to disappear, and there stood a...teenage girl with long, red hair, her eyes were glowing green, she was dressed in purple armor, and she appeared to be cuffed.
"Okay, what is going on?! He screamed in his mind.
The girl started to speak in some kind of language that no one ever heard of or could understand. But Ben could tell that it had to be some kind of alien language, and this girl had to be an alien.
She jumped off and started interrogating the citizens. Someone accidentally snapped a picture which angered the girl, and she started to swing around her cuffs in a threatening manner.
Everyone screamed and started running. Ben, however, didn't as he saw the girl started bashing cars, pay-phones, and benches. He couldn't just stand here. He had to get her to stop!
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?!" Ben exclaimed, stupidly. The boy mentally kicked himself as the girl looked at him with an murderous glare. "Uh...why don't we just get a soda and we'll talk it out-"
The girl yelled and went towards the boy. Ben barely jumped away when the girl brought her cuffs down, hitting the ground, instead of him. "Hey! What the heck is wrong with you?!" Ben snapped.
The girl ignored him and continued trying to hit him as he kept dodging. The girl brought down her cuffs one last time before huffing to catch her breath. "Okay, that's it!" Ben said, "You wanna fight? Try picking on somebody your own size!"
He rolled up his sleeve, revealing the Omnitrix. He pressed the button as the core popped up and a silhouette of an alien was revealed. The boy turned the dial a few times before stopping at an alien.
"It's hero time!" Ben exclaimed. He raised his hand and slammed on the core as a bright green light shined on him.
Red charcoal grew all over him and his body as the eleven-year-old grew taller and was lit on fire.
This form was a pyronite that he called, Heatblast.
The girl looked on in shock as wondered how this was happening.
"Didn't your mommy tell you that if you play with fire, you're gonna get burned?" Heatblast asked as he raised his hands and fired out a powerful fire blast.
The girl immediately dodged the attack and dashed towards the pyronite. She tried hitting him again as he avoided her attacks. She raised her cuffs and finally bashed his head, sending him back.
"Geez, for a gal, you sure do hit hard," Heatblast said, "But that still doesn't mean that I can't kick your butt,"
The girl screamed running towards him again. Heatblast shot out fireballs. The girl tried to dodge them, but ended up getting hit by one of them which sent her back. "Strike!" Heatblast cheered.
"Not bad," A new voice spoke. Heatblast flinched and turned around to see a teenage boy with spiky hair, he had on a mask, he wore red and green clothing, and he had on a utility belt, "For a kid,"
"Who are you?" Heatblast inquired, summoning fireballs.
"Relax. I'm not your enemy. I was about to help you when she attacked you, until I saw you transform and figured that I'd see what you can do," The boy said.
Heatblast scoffed, "Well thanks for observing me. You gonna grade me or something?"
"Eh, I'd give you an A for effort, C for result," The boy smirked.
"Oh come on, you...wait a minute...aren't you Robin?" Heatblast asked.
"That I am," The boy nodded.
"Wow. Then...shouldn't you be with-" Before he could ask, he was hit by a car which sent the wielder back.
Before Robin could react, he was suddenly hit by the girl, sending him back.
The boy wonder huffed as he sat up, "Stronger than she looks..." He muttered.
"You're telling me," Heatblast muttered once he recovered from being hit.
The girl went up to them and raised her cuffs once again.
Heatblast and Robin quickly moved out away as she brought them down, making the ground shake.
"Okay, that's it! Someone needs a timeout!"
Heatblast fired a blast at the girl which she avoided, but ended up being hit by Robin with his staff.
Heatblast and Robin fought the girl, doing whatever they can to take her down. Heatblast continued to fire at her while Robin tried hitting her with his staff and birdarangs.
Heatblast fired a fire beam at her, sending her back as she hit her back on a vehicle.
The girl groaned and she smirked, as if she seemed unaffected. Robin stood by Heatblast's side ready for her comeback.
The girl went towards them, until she was suddenly hit by a...green goat.
The green goat shifted into a green-skinned boy that looked between the ages thirteen and fourteen.
He stood straight, "Ex-Doom patrol member, Beast Boy sir! How can I help-?!" He stopped, his eyes widened when he saw Robin, "Wowzers! You're Robin, aren't you, sir?" He asked.
"Well, you can start by not calling me sir," Robin said.
"Okay...this is extremely weird..." Heatblast huffed.
Beast-Boy's eyes glistened, "Well, then let me just say that it is an honor to be-"
"Beast-Boy, was it?" Robin asked.
"Yessir?" Beast-Boy asked.
Both Robin and Heatblast pointed at the girl, who was holding up a bus. She threw it at them as the three quickly moved out of the way, only for a huge man, dressed in a coat to come into the picture and catch the bus.
He landed it on the ground and had an angered glare on his face, "Yo! Who's here messin' up my neighborhood?!"
"She started it!" Beast-Boy pointed at the girl.
The girl slammed her cuffs, harder on the ground that caused everything to shake. The cuffs were still attached, but the electronics and covers fell on the ground, revealing her hands.
She raised her hands, forming them into fists as they glowed green.
"That's not good..." Heatblast said.
The girl fired green beams at them. The four quickly spreaded out, doing the best they can to avoid the blasts. It soon got out of control as the green beams hit lots of buildings and vehicles.
The girl huffed, catching her breath while Heatblast, Robin, Beast-Boy, and the man hid behind a bus.
"That girl's gonna wreck the whole city!" The man said.
"I won't let her. I won't lose this fight," Robin said.
"Neither will I!" Heatblast said.
The four boys ran out to continue to fight the girl, but a huge dark eagle appeared in front of them, blocking their path.
"What now?!" Heatblast grumbled.
"Maybe fighting isn't the answer," They turned around to see a teenage girl, dressed in dark blue, standing.
Heatblast scoffed, "Then what will? I tried talking to her. It didn't work,"
The girl just turned away and dropped the dark eagle.
Robin turned to the girl who was still on the ground, trying to catch her breath. "Stand down," He ordered.
"What? You think you the boss or something?" The man snapped.
"Just gimme a chance," Robin said.
"It's your funeral," Heatblast scoffed.
Robin ignored his comment and approached the girl. Once the girl saw him, she raised her glowing green fists in defense. The girl spoke her language.
"Easy, my name is Robin, and I don't wanna hurt you. I just wanna help," Robin reached for something in his utility belt. The girl continued to ask questions as he pulled out a tool, "It's okay," He assured.
The girl narrowed her eyes as he offered a smile. Robin slowly lowered the girl's hands and used the tool to unlock the cuffs. The girl seemed to calm down as her eyes stopped glowing and she stared at his actions.
The cuffs were unlocked and they fell from the girl's arms.
"Alright, now maybe we can be-" Before Robin could speak, he felt the girl grab him and pull him into a kiss, shocking him and the others. She pulled him away and pushed him back as her eyes glowed again.
"If you wish not to be destroyed, you will leave me alone!" She threatened before taking off.
Robin and the others were shocked. Beast-Boy turned to them, "So, I'm Beast-Boy, who are you?"
Heatblast ignored Beast-Boy and went up to him, "You good?"
"Yeah...just kinda shocked," Robin said as he stood up.
"Who do you think she was?" The girl in blue asked.
"Don't know. Whoever she was, the girl sure knows how to make an impression," The man said.
"Good thing we made an impression. Crazy space girl's gone, the city's saved, mission accomplished!" Beast-Boy said.
"You look like an alien," The man said to Heatblast, "Do you know who she is?"
"No idea. I don't know every alien from the galaxy," Heatblast said, "And I'm not really an alien,"
"Then what are-" Before he could ask more, the Omnitrix on Heatblast's chest beeped as it flashed red.
A bright red light shined on him which caused the teens to look away. The light died down, and there stood Ben.
"Wait, you're a kid?" The man asked, dumbfound.
"Yup," Ben said with his arms crossed.
"Whoa, but you were that fire-guy just now! He seemed pretty tall, like a teenager," Beast-Boy said, "And he sounded older too. How-how did you turn into him?" He asked.
"A magician never reveals his secrets. And his name's Heatblast. Guess you guys can see that I'm not an ordinary kid," The Eleven-year-old said before digging his hands into his pockets.
"Well, it looks like we're done here. I appreciate the help," Robin said as he walked off.
"You're going to track down the alien?" The girl dressed in blue asked.
"I have to find out if she's a threat," Robin said.
"More like find out if he's gonna get another kiss..." The man muttered.
"Hey, sir! I-I mean Robin? Do you maybe-"
"Sorry, but I go solo," Robin said.
"Need a side-kick?" Beast-Boy asked.
Ben walked off, along with the others. He could hear Beast-Boy started asking the other two if he wanted to join. He took note that the man in the coat considered himself a Cyborg.
It wasn't long before Beast-Boy went up to him next, "So what do ya say? How about you change into that fire-guy-"
"Heatblast," Ben corrected, "And I work solo too. Besides, I haven't eaten much lately, and I have a cheeseburger, fries and a milkshake calling out my name back at the diner. I need my strength to go looking for that alien girl too,"
"Oh, but are you sure you don't wanna work together? I don't think a kid like you should be on your own anyway,"
"I can handle myself, thanks. Now why don't you buzz off and-" Ben stopped when he saw a large shadow looming over them. He looked up and his eyes widened, "Oh man..."
"DUUUUDE!" Beast-Boy exclaimed. They saw a huge spaceship flying over the city.
The ship flew above a small island and dropped down a large device.
"Looks like space girl has friends," The man said.
"Or enemies," Robin said.
The device activated and there was a hologram of an alien, Ben thought looked similar to Ripjaws. "People of earth! We come to your planet, hunting an escaped prisoner, a very dangerous prisoner. Do not interfere, and we will leave your city with only minimum damage, but if you attempt to assist her...your destruction will be absolute."
The hologram disappeared and the ship opened up as the aliens flew out.
"That's a big ship," The man said.
"And those are some scary looking aliens," Beast-Boy said.
"They told us not to interfere," The girl in blue said.
"But do you believe every word they're saying?" Ben asked.
"What do you mean?" The girl in blue asked.
"I mean there might be more to this situation we don't know. For all we know, they could want her for something bad," The eleven-year-old hero explained.
"He's right. We don't know the full story, and there might be a reason for why she escaped," Robin said.
"So what? You're still going after her?" The man asked.
"I suppose we could team up, just this once," Robin smirked.
The teens and tween smiled. "Well, since we're gonna be teaming up, I guess we should introduce ourselves," The boy sighed, "Let me go first. I'm Ben Tennyson,"
Ben knew their names fully-well now. He knew who Robin was, he caught Beast-Boy's name during the fight earlier, the man's name is Victor, but he preferred to be called Cyborg, and the girl's name is Raven. She stated that it wasn't her real name, but left it at that and decided to call her what she wanted.
After introductions, the group started looking for the alien girl. They were finding her secretly as they watched as a few of the other aliens tore open cars and destroyed whatever to find the alien girl.
Once they flew off, Robin spoke, "Alright, we need some way to track-"
"She's near," Raven cut him off.
Everyone raised a brow.
"I-I can sense things," Raven confessed.
"I'll see if I can pick up her scent!" Beast-Boy said before shifting into a dog and sniffing her out.
"There's a sonic analyzer built into my arm," Cyborg said and rolled up his sleeve, revealing his mechanical arm, "If she's around, I'll hear it," He pressed the button as his arm was activated.
"Good," Robin said.
"Wow...that's...so cool!" Ben commented.
"Uh, thanks," Cyborg said, looking a bit surprised.
"Got her!" Beast-Boy spoke.
Cyborg looked back to his arm, "And I can hear her heart-beat,"
"Alright, let's move," Robin said. With that, the group ran to track the girl.
"Are you sure this is where she is?" Ben asked, staring at what looked to be a video store.
"Judging from the big hole in the wall, I'd say yes," Raven said.
"Let's approach her calmly. We don't wanna scare her, or get into another fight," Robin said.
"Speak for yourself," Cyborg scoffed.
They walked inside, and there, they saw the girl eating the snacks at the counter.
"Somebody's got an appetite," Ben muttered.
"Um, those actually taste better without the wrapper," Beast-Boy spoke.
The girl stopped eating and turned around with a hostile glare, and her hands glowing green.
The group were startled, and Ben had his hand on the Omnitrix, "It's alright! We're friends, remember?" Robin said.
"Friends? Why? For what purpose did you free me?" The girl inquired.
"Just...trying to be nice," Robin said.
"'Nice?' We do not have this word on my planet. Closet is rutha, 'weak,'!" The girl stated.
"Well around here, nice means nice," Cyborg stated.
"And maybe we can keep being nice if you drop the hostile act and tell us why you're a prisoner of that lizard guy," The eleven-year-old said.
The girl frowned and she seemed to ease up, "Not prisoner...I am...prize. I am a princess from my home, Tamaranean. I am Koriand'r, but in English, I am translated as Starfire. The Gordanians deliver me to the citadel, to live out my days as their servant," She explained.
"And the citadel l are..." Raven trailed off.
"Not nice," Starfire stated.
"Then you're not going with them. Not if I have anything to say about it," Robin said.
"Um, don't you mean we?" Beast-Boy asked.
A large explosion occurred, sending the group back, and there stood the Gordanians with their weapons. "We have found her! Seize her, now!" One of them exclaimed. They flew towards the group.
The teens ran towards them and started kicking butt. Ben slapped on the Omnitrix and transformed into Wildmutt.
The Vulpimancer roared as it scratched and punched a few Gordanians.
Ben had to admit. Fighting with a group of young kids that were like him was fun.
Starfire blew a big hole out of the video store as she flew out and fired at the Gordanians that were after her.
She managed to hit a few of them, but one punched her to the ground.
The Gordanian flew down, his staff in hand.
Robin, who was struggling with a Gordanian, noticed this and threw the Gordanian at the Gordanian that was holding down. Robin went up and helped her up as more Gordanians came at them, and they attacked.
Meanwhile, Wildmutt, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast-Boy were battling the Gordanians. A Gordanian fired at Cyborg, burning off his clothes he was wearing to cover his whole robotic body.
He jumped up and took down a Gordanian as more Gordanians came at him, firing at him.
Wildmutt pushed Cyborg and himself out of the way as they ran from the shots.
Beast-Boy, in the form of a pterodactyl, grabbed both Cyborg and Wildmutt and flew while Raven used her magic to to lift up a light post and used it to hit a Gordanian.
With the Gordanians now being fearful of the the group, they retreated. They watched as Starfire sighed and turned to them, "I believe your expression is...thanks," She said.
"Oh man...my suit," Cyborg groaned.
"So? You look way cooler without it," Beast-Boy commented.
"Yeah, like I'm taking fashion advice from a guy in a goofy mask," Cyborg scoffed.
"Goofy?" Beast-Boy looked hurt, "My mask is cool! Isn't it, Raven? Ben?"
Cyborg and Raven shook their heads as Ben changed back from Wildmutt, "Sorry, dude, but the mask is kinda dorky,"
"But, what about my secret identity?" Beast-Boy asked.
"What secret identity? You're green," Raven said.
Beast-Boy tried to defend his statement, but wasn't able to. He decided to take his mask off as Robin spoke.
"This isn't over. We've interfered," Robin said.
"Trogaar will strike harder," Starfire said, "It is an only a matter of-"
"Fools!" They turned around to see the leader of the Gordanians, Trogaar, appear again, "The earth scum were warned. Your incolsence will be punished. Your city shall be destroyed!"
The hologram disappeared and the ship loomed over the city again as a canon appeared, ready to fire.
Everyone looked up. "Great..." Raven muttered.
"Okay, this is so not good," Ben said.
"So, after trashing the pizza place, and a perfectly good video store, now we managed to make a humungous space gecko mad enough to vaporize our entire town?!" Beast-Boy said.
"Go team," Cyborg said.
"All the fault is yours!" Starfire snapped at Robin, "I commanded you leave me alone but you consisted on the being nice!"
"My fault?! You blast me, you kissed me, and you never stopped to mention that they have a gigantic particle weapon?!" Robin snapped.
It was then, the two started arguing.
"We are doomed! I can't believe I let you talk me into this!" Beast-Boy snapped at Cyborg.
"Say what?! I was ready to walk before you-"
"QUIET/SHUT UP!" Raven and Ben shouted, making everyone go silent.
"...Hi," Raven waved.
"Look, we have two choices. One: We can just stand here playing the blame game, or we could work together, go up to that spaceship and kick that lizard freak's butt," Ben said.
Robin nodded in agreement, "Ben's right. We're in this mess, and we will get out of it. Together."
Everyone smiled and nodded.
"Now what are we waiting for?" Ben asked with a huge grin and his hand on the Omnitrix, "It's hero time!"
Thanks to Raven's magic, the group managed to get on the ship. Beast-Boy huffed and hugged himself, "That dark energy stuff gives me the..." He saw Raven giving him a glare, "I-I mean, huh! That's cool!"
Robin peaked to see that the coast was clear.
"They're firing controls. Their isn't much time," He whispered. He got a move-on and the others followed him, except Raven.
"Mind telling me why you're always by yourself?" Cyborg asked.
"You heard the kid. I don't exactly fit in," Raven said.
"He's green, half of me is metal, he has a fancy watch that turns him into aliens, and she's from space," Cyborg said, offering a kind smile, "You fit in just fine," Raven smiled and they caught up with the others.
Ben fiddled with the Omnitrix, wondering if he unlock some kind of code in getting a new alien. "So, I see that the rumors are true about the Omnitrix," Starfire spoke to Ben, causing the boy to flinch.
"Yeah? Whats it to you?" Ben asked, cautiously, "You're gonna try and hit me again?"
"I was just curious. I've heard rumors of the Omnitrix coming to existence and what it can do," Starfire said, "And...I am sorry for how I acted when we first encountered. I guess I have let the...exaggeration get the better of me."
Ben offered her a smile, "It's okay. I guess I'm sorry too. We started off on a pretty rocky start, and you were scared out of your mind and cautious too. I can understand that."
Starfire smiled, "Do you wish...to be the friends, Ben? If it is okay with you,"
"Ah what the heck? Sure," Ben nodded, "We can be friends,"
Starfire smiled at that, "Thank you." She turned to Robin, "And I am the sorry as well, Robin. All I have done was brought destruction, and I have yelled at you and put the blame on you."
"Don't worry about it. I'm sorry I yelled too," Robin said.
"And again! You are...nice! On my world, only my kenorfka has only shown me such...kindness," Starfire said.
"Well, things are different here," Robin said.
The two smiled at each-other for a moment until Beast-Boy spoke, "Uh, guys?! I think they know we're here!" He pointed at the Gordians that had their weapons and surrounded them.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Gordians were in the control room, messing with the controls.
"Lord Trogaar!" One of the Gordians spoke, "The weapon has reached full power!"
Trogaar, who was sitting in the main chair, ordered, "Then begin the firing sequence,"
The Gordians obliged and got the canon ready.
"The earth scum shall learn that it takes more than six juvenile heroes to defy the mighty lord trogaar!" Trogaar smirked.
As the weapon started up, a huge explosion occurred. Trogaar turned around to see the six heroes standing. Ben was in the form of a petrosapien that he called, Diamondhead.
"We're not six heroes. We're one team," Robin said.
"And this team is gonna kick your butt," Diamondhead said.
"Attack!" Trogaar shouted.
The group started beating down the Gordians. Diamondhead fired out sharp crystals that hit the Gordians. When the Gordians got too close, he would punch and kick them. One Gordian ran up to him and struggled with him, only for Diamondhead to pick him up and throw him at a small group of Gordians.
"Oh yeah! Who's bad?!" Diamondhead cheered. But the transformed eleven-year-old spoke too soon when he was hit.
When Raven was defending Beast-Boy from a Gordian, Robin intervened and got on top of the Gordian.
The Gordian threw Robin off, and he ran up to the Gordian, giving him a firm punch which was followed by a kick.
Before he could give another attack, the Gordian grabbed him and threw him back at a wall.
Starfire gasped, "Robin!" She exclaimed. She turned around when she saw a Gordian coming up to her.
Starfire's fists glowed and she fired star bolts at the Gordians.
Trogaar appeared and tackled her to the ground, only for him to slammer her.
Starfire tried to get out of his grasp as she struggled.
"Leave her alone!" Diamondhead snapped as he went up and punched Trogaar, sending him back.
Diamondhead helped Starfire up, "You alright?"
"I am the fine. Thank you, Ben," Starfire said.
"Anytime. What are friends for?" Diamondhead smiled.
Trogaar yelled and went up to the two only for Cyborg to punch him.
"Hate to interrupt your friendship bond, but we're in a fight here?" Cyborg said.
"Right, let's get to it and end this!" Diamondhead exclaimed.
Diamondhead, Starfire, and Cyborg started beating on Trogaar, together. Both using their abilities to take him down. All three of them punched him in the jaw at the same time, making him stumble.
Trogaar growled and went up to them, throwing his punches at them this time.
The three were sent back on the ground with a grunt.
Robin looked at Cyborg's arm, "Can you rewire that into some sort of weapon?"
"I can try," Cyborg said.
All four of them stood, seeing Trogaar and the Gordians surround them. Trogaar smiled evilly, seeing that they have them outnumbered, until Raven spoke, "Get away from my friends!"
They saw Raven, helping Beast-Boy up. She glared at them as her eyes turned dark, "Azerath Metrion Zenthos!" A large wave of dark magic caused an explosion on the ship and it caused it to crash into the river.
The Gordians were all laying on the ground, completely unconscious.
Troggar, however, stood up and glared down at Raven and Beast-Boy. "You have ruined everything! Now you'll pay!" He raised his claws, about to harm them, until a blue beam hit him from behind.
Troggar yelled, and groaned as he fell on the ground, unconscious.
There stood, Cyborg, with his hand transformed into a canon, and smoke coming out. "Alright, I'm only gonna say this once." He looked to his friends with a smirk, "Boo-yah!"
The team stood on the island, staring at the sun coming up.
"That's quite a view," Raven said.
"Somebody outta build a house out here," Cyborg said, "We'll need a place to stay,"
"Yeah, if you like sunshine and a beach," Beast-Boy nudged Raven.
"Y'know, you're kinda funny," Raven giggled.
"You think I'm funny?" Beast-Boy beamed, "Dude, I know some jokes!" Raven seemed to regret that.
"Please," They turned around to see Starfire in a new outfit, "I look...nice?"
Robin smiled, "Yeah, you do,"
Starfire smiled, "I thank you all for your bravery and help, and I wish to ask permission to remain here, where the people are most strange, but where are people are most kind," Both Robin and Starfire blushed.
"You don't need our permission, you got it," Robin said.
"Guess we could all use some new friends," Cyborg said.
"Besides, we all make a good team," Beast-Boy said, "Hey wait..." He looked around, realizing something, "Where's Ben?"
Everybody shrugged. "Don't know. Haven't seen him since-"
Before Cyborg could finish, they saw something coming up, racing on the river.
They saw a blue and white alien with a helmet on, and a familiar symbol on his chest. It was Ben, in the form of Xlr8.
He got on the island, holding a backpack, "Sorry, I had to get something I left back at the diner."
"It's cool. We're just glad that you're here," Robin said.
"Awesome! What do you call this one?" Beast-Boy asked.
"Xlr8. He goes super fast. Faster than a race car, so I figured why not," Xlr8 said.
"Cool. You gotta show me some of your other aliens," Beast-Boy said.
Xlr8 smiled, "Sure. But maybe later, the watch times out and has a limiter on it, meaning I can only transform one at a time, and wait for it to recharge afterwards."
"Aw, that sucks," Beast-Boy frowned.
"Tell me about it," Xlr8 said as the Omnitrix beeped and Ben changed back into his human form, "So, anything I missed?"
"Nope, you're just in time. I thought we might wanna keep in touch, since we'll be a team now, so Cyborg and I designed these," Robin got out four round devices. They accepted the devices. "When there's trouble, you know who to call,"
Ben stared at the device in his hand with a smile. Yesterday, he was on his own. He'd never thought he'd be part of a team that were a bit older than him. It almost felt like from he was with his grandpa and cousin.
A frown appeared on his face, thinking about them? Will he be a good teammate and help his team out, or will he mess up again, and have more guilt and fear rested on his shoulders?
To be continued...
Also, if you noticed too, I used the aliens that appeared in the first episode of Ben 10 - "And then there were ten," Thank you for reading! I promise, I'll try all I can to update more.
