"Test Drive"
Out in the summer daylight, in the park just outside of town, Yang Xiao Long drove up and about across the series of ramps on her motorbike, the Bumblebee. The sun's glare reflected off her sunglasses and a proud smile grew wide on her face.
Her young half-sister, Ruby Rose, looked on at the spectacle, wide-eyed and mouth hanging open.
As soon as she landed back down, Yang drove up to her sister, causing smoke to emit from the tyres and making her cough.
"Why are you so good at driving?" Ruby sighed.
"Experience, sis," Yang patted her little sister on the back. "Well, that and a driving licence."
"Can I drive it, Yang? Just for a bit."
"Oh I don't know, Ruby," Yang hesitated. "Remember the time you tried to drive dad's car?"
"Yeah true, that happened, but please, I've learnt my lesson and this time I promise," Ruby pleaded as her pupils widened all dooey like a puppy dog begging.
"Ugh, very well," Yang groaned and caved in before she got off and handed over the keys.
With typical bright glee, Ruby snatched the keys straight from her sister's hand before hopping onto the motorbike and inserting the keys into the ignition. With a vroom, she launched off and screeches pierced the spectators' ears.
Leaving behind various skidmarks, Ruby shrieked and yelled as she held tight onto the bike. The velocity drove up to maximum overdrive to the point of forcing the young huntress literally off her feet through she still managed to hold to the bike handles. Ruby's face turned a pale green and her cheeks inflated.
One big final ramp sent Ruby and the motorbike flying metres high into the air before coming back down, and with a flash of fire and the Bumblebee was engulfed in the explosion. Yang's sunglasses fell loose, her eyes widened and her jaw dropped at seeing the destruction of her most prized possession.
Ruby then appeared, having shrugged from the scorching flames and ashes, with one hair singeing.
Yang stared intensely at her with squeezed fists and slowly gritting teeth.
"Well uh... at least you still have that warranty, right?" Ruby stammered.
