The Governor watches over his people, who look to the sky with great concern. Children holding on to the parents tightly, as they watch Separatists ships block the sun. They rush to find shelter, believing themselves to be subjected to an invasion. Meanwhile, Roshti returned his quarters waiting for the transmission from Count Dooku. Roshti kept this meeting secret, and asked the Count to make his appearance discrete. Unfortunately, that wasn't the style of the leader of the Confederacy.

"I'd be a fool if I didn't think this wasn't purposeful." Roshti speculated. "I did not tell my people of this, now he's making it look like he's marching on my capital." The complaint made him seem vain, he knew, but deep down Roshti believes he's doing what's best for his Togruta brethren.

A transmission finally came in, but it wasn't the Count. He was taking his time exiting his luxury cruiser. It was the diminutive, yet powerful Master Yoda. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Roshti asks.

"For pleasure this isn't, here to warn you about your meeting with Count Dooku, I am. Trust him, do not. Remain calm and we'll send help." Yoda instructed. Roshti seemed unimpressed.

"Master Yoda, it is too late. I cannot send the Separatists back they'll surely open fire on my people. They've been doing that anyways." He grieved for the lives he could not save. "I am out of options and time, I will do what is best for my own." Right after he switches the transmission off, Dooku appears and confidently saunters into the governor's office. Roshti greets the Sith with a bow.

"Governor, it is so good to see you." The grey haired Sith greets the Togruta.

"Yes, if only the circumstances were better." He pointed out, before blurting our his question. "Why do you attack us? We are a peaceful people, without an army or weapons. We've remained neutral-" Dooku ordered his guards to point their guns at the governor in an effort to silence him.

"You are far too concerned with lives that aren't yours." Dooku states. "Your people will be taken care of, I'll see to that." He articulated.

"But we were already taken care of." Roshti protested.

"Then why am I here?" Dooku concluded. "Round up all the colonists, put them on the transports." He orders the soulless hunks of machinery, they held the citizens of Kiros at gunpoint and marched them away from their homes. Some tried to put up a fight, all who did were gun downed and made an example of.

Word reached the Galactic Republic, naturally the senate dragged their heels and the Jedi Order were split whether to enact swift retaliation for the C.I.S violating Togrutan neutrality.

Anakin wouldn't show his emotions in public, he was teeming with frustration at all the red tape. He did have one confidant in luscious senator Padmé Amidala, who Skywalker's taken a romantic interest in over their years knowing each other. The day she reciprocated his feelings is one he'll never forget, finally finding his other half in this lonely universe is an unmatched experienced he could not have possibly put into words. His attempts at poetry only made the senator giggle.

But Anakin wasn't in any mood for romance. He needed to let off some steam, and since the Jedi frown on expressing your emotions he was left with little options besides unloading on Padmé. Not that she minded. She surely had a good listener in Anakin after rough days in the Galactic Senate.

Today they were both on edge. A movement inside the chamber managed to freeze funding for the Clone Army until employment benefits were extended by a year. Padmé agreed with the policy and supported it, but no agreement was met. So even if the senate was to grant the Chancellor the authorization to use troops, their wouldn't be anybody to send.

Anakin was perplexed. "Didn't the senate give the Chancellor emergency powers?" He recalls correctly, when the Galactic Senate overwhelmingly voted to neuter themselves in the run-up to The Clone War.

"This is one of the rare cases where he does not have the ability to do what he wants. Kiros is neutral and isn't in the Republic's sphere of influence." She explains.

"So what happens now?" He asks. Padmé huffs, showing more of her frustration.

"The Senate is filled with so much cowardice, I'd be surprised if they show up tomorrow. They don't want to do anything, and we're facing fires at home and on the battlefield. I'm sorry, Annie, I think the Jedi are alone on this."

"They aren't in any rush to get involved." He fumed. "Master Yoda is the only member on the Jedi Council who wants to send troops."

"Why won't they?" She asks.

"Kiros isn't an ally of the Republic."

"They aren't on the side of the enemy, either." She retorts. "Can't you speak to the council?"

"I've tried, Padmé. The only person who wants to do something is the Chancellor, but his hands are tied."
