The Violet Love & Violet Eyes

Lucy Heartfilia walked into the Fairy Tail guild with a disappointed look on her face, feeling really upset while she could see Cana Alberona standing in front of the brown request board, and Lucy simply decided to sit down at one of brown round tables that was close to the orange entrance doors. Lucy thought about asking the white-haired barmaid known as Mirajane Strauss to make her a nice cup of sugary tea, but even a hot drink probably wouldn't be a good remedy for Lucy feeling quite depressed about how the mission went wrong today. In fact, it even ended up making Lucy lose some money that could've gone towards paying her apartment's monthly rent of seventy-thousand jewels.

Lucy and the other members of Team Natsu chose to handle a job that would've made them be rewarded with eighty-thousand jewels, and their task simply involved retrieving a purple treasure chest from the deepest part of Hearthome Cave. When the members of Team Natsu ended up reaching the very end of the cave, they were met with the sight of a female mage from a different guild opening the treasure chest. Lucy thought about she noticed that some gems in the cave's walls were missing, and seeing the purple-haired wizard stuff them into the treasure chest before turning around to face the team made Lucy feel like she should've prepared for that type of surprise.

The female wizard didn't seem startled by Team Natsu's appearance, but she had merely clapped her hands in an impressed manner while seeming quite smug at how other people took the same job as her. The girl had long violet hair that fell to her hips, along with fair skin, and she wore a yellow midriff shirt that exposed her belly while she also wore an orchid purple skirt. The wizard who reached the treasure first also had violet eyes while her high-heeled shoes were orange, and she claimed to have been from the Sabertooth guild. The girl with violet hair was Mikiko Kirishima, and Lucy wouldn't forget how she charged up a purple sphere of dark magic in her left hand.

Lucy felt intimidated by that girl's Darkness Magic, as it was even powerful enough to break down a wall with several purple gems on it, but she wasn't depressed about the fact that Mikiko was stronger than her. Lucy was really upset about the fact that Erza was furious at her for getting down on her knees to beg Mikiko for mercy, even though that seemed like the most suitable decision. Erza hadn't spoken to Lucy for seven hours now, and the sun was starting to wane while the orange sky signaled that it was now sunset. Lucy regretted telling the enemy that she could have the purple treasure chest for the sake of taking it to the client in the nearby town of Hearthome, but seeing Gray and Natsu get beaten mercilessly made Lucy not want to die or see her friends get killed.

"Lucy, are you okay? Do you want me to get some coffee from the bar for you and add some nice lumps of sugar?" Cana asked her with a concerned facial expression as she walked towards the table, holding a violet flyer in her right hand.

Cana's question made Lucy reply in a somewhat surprised manner, being taken out of the thoughts going through her mind, "Oh, my! Cana, coffee is good without any cream or sugar. Besides, I may have to do missions alone when Erza's around."

Cana asked Lucy while having curiosity in her violet eyes, "What went down with you and Erza? I thought you two were a great pair of friends, and people even said that you two do dirty things together when she's at your apartment."

Lucy wasted no time with countering those rumors of her doing lewd things with Erza, since their friendship was definitely not at that stage, and she felt like Erza wasn't even attracted to other woman. She did seem to have a close friendship with Natsu, and they would even sleep in Natsu's bed together on some nights because of how Erza liked the fact that he made her body feel warm with his high amount of body heat. Erza's friendship with Natsu didn't involve cuddling or any other signs of it being romantic, though, so Lucy would just have to see if their good friendship would eventually ascend to that level.

As for why Erza was not speaking to Lucy, the girl with cocoa brown eyes began to look disappointed in herself again while feeling like she couldn't tell Cana the reason for why the conflict was occurring. She wouldn't want Cana to inform any of the other guild members about something negative that involved Erza, as that would probably just make those mages in the guild tell the scarlet-haired woman that Lucy was upset with her, and Lucy also did not want to make one of her best friends be involved in this situation that didn't concern her.

Lucy also didn't want to talk about the issue while Mirajane Strauss worked behind the bar, since the white-haired barmaid did like to hear about all kinds of gossip in the Fairy Tail guild. Even though Lucy had paired up with Cana for the S-Class trial that took place in the year X784, she felt like this was something that didn't need to involve a close friend. She decided that the best move would be to deal with the situation on her own, and Lucy slowly got up from the brown chair while she would look for a task that could be handled tomorrow or late at night.

As Lucy proceeded to walk to the request board while Mira got out from behind the bar to pick up some empty bottles of booze that were on the tables, Cana started to have a worried look on her face while believing that it wasn't good for Lucy to keep her feelings bottled up. Even though booze would taste somewhat bad from being exposed to air for a long time, not bottling up feelings could make Lucy's emotions be released in a good way. Cana hoped that Lucy would eventually talk to her about the situation, and she continued to look concerned before staring down at the violet flyer.

"Well, Lucy, I've got to handle this job in Hearthome Town. You could come along with me, if you don't already have enough rent money saved up." Cana explained to Lucy in a calm tone, before smiling softly at her own suggestion.

Lucy replied with a nice smile on her face, not wanting to trouble the brown-haired girl, "Cana, just get your flyer stamped by Mirajane. I'll choose my own job, so don't worry."

Cana responded to Lucy while she walked towards to the brown counter, giving Lucy a confident look, "All right, Lucy. I'll go to Hearthome Town and deal with this job of having to see someone who surprisingly got drunk enough yesterday to lose their violet bracelet while somehow successfully handling a job of taking out an outlaw for their guild on that same night."

As Cana got to the counter, Lucy watched her lean forward while noticing the blue bra that matched her red capri pants. Cana also wore some brown sandals, and Lucy liked her attire. She smiled at how Cana was going to handle a job, but hearing that it was near Hearthome Town made Lucy wonder if her friend would be okay. She would hate the scenario of Cana running into the same woman who ran off with that treasure chest right in front of Team Natsu, and Lucy didn't want another person to angrily tell her later about how their job completely went to waste.

Lucy wore a pink T-shirt with a miniskirt that was white, along with some brown high-heeled shoes, and her beautiful blonde hair was down. She watched Cana accidentally grab the brown stamper to put Fairy Tail's orange symbol on the violet flyer, and the woman with tan skin proceeded to quickly leave the guild with her flyer. Lucy gave Cana a disappointed look as she was still upset about her own dilemma concerning Erza, and getting in Cana's way would be bad. However, Lucy looked at the sky to see that the evening was just beginning. Even though there wasn't a chance for Lucy to immediately reconcile with Erza today, the fact that she began to follow her friend out of the guild meant that there would be a chance for one good thing to occur today.

How was Chapter 1? Did you like it? This Lucy x Cana fanfic was actually something I wrote prior to the other one's spin-off involving Juvia and Mirenu, and this fanfic does have some nice differences from the other one. If you check out my Minerva x Lucy story, I mentioned how the previous version of this CaLu fanfic sadly got reported. That's unfortunate, but at least I get to start over. Standby for the update!
