The newly born Steven lays asleep in his crib. His parents watching over him.

"He's perfect." Greg whispered, trying to not wake the baby up.

"I know." Rose whispered back.

Rose had given birth to Steven a month ago. The fact that she was still around still baffles her. By all accounts she should have disappeared after giving birth. Even Garnet was not able to see a future where both she and her son lived. But somehow, her body was able to create another gem for Steven, so she did not have to sacrifices her gem for him.

That should have been impossible. She ran all kinds of tests and experiments before becoming impregnated and they all came to the same conclusion of her needing to give her gem to her child.

To think that is possible for a gem to create another gem without draining the planet's resources is astonishing. It could lead to a great future where gems and organics could live peacefully together. All she has to do is figure out how to replicate it for other gems.

She'll go back over those tests and run new ones later, but there are other important things she needs to do. One of those things is to talk to Greg.

"Honey, let's go outside."

"Um, you mean go outside your room or outside this house your room made?" Greg asked. Since Greg did not have a suitable place for a baby to live, Rose had constructed a house inside her room. It wasn't an ideal place for her son since her room can be very dangerous but it'll due until they got a better place.

"Just outside this house. I need to talk to you alone, but we might wake Steven up if we stay inside."

"Okay." Greg said unsure about the situation. He could tell whatever Rose was about to tell him would be serious.

Outside the house, Rose commanded the room to create chairs for them.

"So what's going on?" Greg asked after sitting down.

Rose took a deep breath to steady her nerves. She's been holding onto this secret for so long. It's not easy to just spill it all out.

Greg waited patiently, though he got more nervous the longer Rose wouldn't say anything.

Finally, Rose started speaking.

"I'm not a Rose Quartz. I'm actually Pink Diamond."

"Wait what? What are you talking about Rose?"

"It's a long story. Pearl is the only other person to know about my past and now I think you deserve to know as well."

She then explained from the beginning about her fellow Diamonds, the reason why she came to Earth, and the rebellion.

It was a long story, but it did not take her long to start crying. Greg tried to comfort her and said she didn't need to continue. But Rose knew if she didn't tell him now then she might never try again.

After she told her story, she made Greg promise he would not tell anyone else about her secret. He agreed to not tell anyone.

Notes: Hey everyone. Thanks for reading the prologue. I've seen some other fan fics that have Rose alive and I wanted to try writing a story like theirs. But I haven't thought out the plot yet so I might not update this story for a long time. Please write a review to let me know what you think so far. Any writing advice would be appreciated as long as you're respectable about it.
