Cage Mates

Chapter 1

Hey y'all back again with a story. I don't own Skip Beat! I don't own picture either,. Just writing a story about it. No beta, just me. Warning! This is a very dark story, containing violent, sexual, and graphic dark themes. Read at your own risk! Not for the weak hearted… You have been warned.. Y'all it's dark… just saying. This is rated M, for a reason y'all. This takes place while Kyoko is 18! I will try to keep to the storyline as best as I can. I had to make it so she could also experience what she did in the manga as well as this. This will be RenxKyoko, no one else. You will see later. Also for another dark story check out "Underneath her Sleeves" that I wrote a whillleeee agoooo. This will probably be a short story, don't know how far this will go but we will see. It will have a happy ending though, I promise.

This takes place when Kyoko is about 18 and sharing a manager with Ren.

Kyoko was in the President's office having a meeting with Lory, Ren, and Yashiro about their schedules. As they were walking out of the office, a group of guys were standing outside the door. He looked extremely familiar to her, then it clicked. She instantly froze in her place, making Ren stumble behind her, asking her "Mogami-san? What's wrong?" It had to be him she thought to herself. That boy… she saw that died years ago… It couldn't be. No. It couldn't be. There was no way! But, then the man turned around and looked at her. Those golden eyes… That hair.. That long silky hair… He had on a black shirt and black pants. His figure and his height would be around that size. But it's impossible, he died right... This is a dream, it couldn't be him. The man staring at her, looked like he was in disbelief himself. Those molden, golden eyes that haunted her dreams at night. They were too similar to the ones, she saw years ago... it had to be him. There was no way he could not be him! Tears started slipping down her cheeks slowly as she stared at the man in front of her.

Behind her, Ren, Yashiro, and Lory were calling her name worriedly and asking her what was wrong. She didn't answer. All she saw was the boy now man, she had lost years ago was here. Suddenly she got up the courage to ask, "Yuuji, is that you?!" Her voice was raw and scratchy with emotions, her mind was running miles per second. Her heart beating furiously with hope. A name she hadn't spoken in years. Could she be wrong? Tears were flowing freely. She knew she shouldn't get so emotional in public but just seeing this man. Broke her… It was just too much… The tears just wouldn't stop. She had to know... She had to!

Behind her Ren was confused why she was bursting into tears, her voice held so much emotion and anguish. It literally tore his heart out. He never heard her sound that vulnerable. He did not know what to do or what was going on. Is this someone she loved from her past? Her reaction was scaring him a bit but he tried to keep calm because he didn't know the situation. Looking at the man, he asked Kyoko, " Do you know him, Mogami-san?" She did not answer. She was completely frozen; it was like she couldn't hear him.

Lory's heart dropped when he heard her heart wrenching words. What happened to this child that she would speak with such profound emotions. Who did she recognize? Who is this that brought such sorrow? Another bad memory? The black haired man started to slowly walk towards her cautiously. Could it be her? He asked himself. Was this the little girl he knew long ago? Her short petite stature, golden eyes… but orange hair? Well, people do dye their hair and she did know my name. God, could I really have found her. It had to be. He got up with courage and with uncertainty he asked, "Kyo-chi, is that you?" A name that he hadn't used in forever. Before either could answer back, they bolted into each other's arms. It's her! It's her! Holding each other for dear life as if one would disappear. Am I dreaming? Is she really in my arms right now?! Her scent burst through his senses, it was her. No one in this world had this unique sweet scent of vanilla. Years of looking but not finding, almost giving up hope of ever finding her again.

Ren stood there in shock and silence. Kyo-chi?! So let me get this straight …. Kyoko willingly threw herself at a man. When did this happen? First Fuwa now him. Lory on the other hand was shocked, yes, but confused. His number one Love-Me girl is throwing herself at a man. When did this happen and howwww? Was she pretending the entire time?! Yashiro was as shocked as Ren and didn't know what was going on. He stood in silence waiting.. wondering what would happen next. All he knew was Ren was pissed off by the new competition.

Kyoko was now sobbing into Yuuji's chest, holding onto him tears staining his shirt through her sobbing she repeated "I thought you were dead! How can it be? I saw it." It was then she had everyone's attention at that comment. It really was her. He was not dreaming. Yuuji replied as he was holding her,

"I'm alive. It's okay, I'm here now, I'm here."

"I was found by a man and was taken to the hospital immediately for treatment." Then whispered in her ear, "That place had been seized later on and I was rescued just in time to be saved." Tears were blurring his vision as he let a couple tears slip down his cheeks.

"What are you doing here? How can this be? she asked, her emotions were all over the place. This smell, his scent… It was all real. He was alive! Yuuji then replied, " I joined a band and hoped you would see me on TV. I would never have dreamed you would be here".

He had been searching years for her since he escaped that hell they lived through. He spoke up proclaiming, "I've been looking for you for years, but I finally found you. God, I looked all over Kyoto for you and couldn't find you. "

Laughing she said, "I moved to Tokyo when I was 16."

" What?!. Why? By yourself?" Yuuji replied.

Nervously she said, " ahhh...that's a long story."

Moving away briefly then looked at her skeptically, he would let it slide for now as he wrapped his arm around her once again.

Finally they found each other again. Finally... Hugging her tight as he could without hurting her, he kissed her forehead deeply and longingly. He had missed her so much. This action made everyone uneasy… What was going on?!

Suddenly, Lory coughed and asked if they wanted to go into his office since a crowd was beginning to appear. Realizing they were in the middle of the hallway, Yuuji looked up and nodded. Instead of letting go of her, he just lifted her up bridal style to go into the office. He didn't want to let go of her. As he lifted her up, he told his buddies that he would meet back with them later.

No complaints were made by her, she just wrapped her arms around his neck and nuzzled her face into his neck like it was normal. It was embarrassing… she knew everyone was staring at her but she didn't care. She missed his scent.. It was home to her… It was the thing that calmed her down in the past when she was scared and lost. He was family to her. The only person in her past that truly cared about her with an exception of Corn.

On the other hand, Ren had seen her interaction with Yuuji and was not a fan of this guy AT ALL. It was a threat to his plans with her and she was ALL over that Yuuji guy. He was not going to let them be alone in that office. He was coming in as well. He was already involved so he would see through it till the end. So all five of them went back into the office. When they got inside, everyone was flabbergasted that Kyoko was willingly sitting and cuddling up to an unknown man in his lap. They had never seen her act like this at all. It was not her personality, for heaven's sake it was a public display of affection with any other guy she would be freaking out with. But not him.. she was calm... not even a blush on her face had appeared... No one knew what was going on. All they knew was Kyoko, the number one love-me member maybe wasn't a member anymore. Who knew?! Because apparently, she has been miraculously cured.

After they all sat down, everyone blurted out their questions,

"So, what's going on?"

" WHO IS THIS GUY?"

"Mogami-san who is this"

Not wanting to look up at the fierceness of the three men in front of her. She said from Yuuji's chest, "He was my cage mate years ago." She felt like a child again with Yuuji. As she breathed in his scent. She didn't want to leave this safe place in his arms. It had been her safe haven for so many years through that hell they barely lived through.

She knew she had hid this from everyone but she did it for a reason. But there was no explanation she could give truthfully about how she met Yuuji. She glanced at Ren, she had been keeping this from everyone. Ren's face was full of confusion and anger. He looked at her expectantly wanting an explanation. She knew she had broken the rule of heart in their book. At the moment, she knew Ren would be mad that she kept such a big detail out of her story. It was a huge chunk she left out… He thought he knew everything about her past, but now he knows that there is a part missing. A big part actually…... She had not told a soul about what happened to her back then. She buried it deep within herself and was going to take it to her grave. She didn't lie! She just left that part out... Not even Sho knew what happened, because his parents hid it from him. He was not allowed to know. All he knew is that she left for days or nights at a time. But, now the cat was out of the bag. It had and would to be told, the horrors that happened must come to the light.

Completely confused about her answer Yashiro speaks up and asks the question that was on everyone's mind, "Cage mate, Mogami-san?"

Knowing Kyoko was nervous knowing that she didn't tell them, Yuuji then answered for her "Years ago, when Kyo-chi was 4 years old and I was 8 years old. We were sold to a lab that did illegal human experiments on children. Our parents had gotten money from them experimenting on us. That was how we met. We were kept in the same 6 by 6 foot cage metal cage."

When he said that, complete silence overcame the room. All of their faces were shocked, and couldn't believe what they were hearing.

Kyoko unconsciously leaned into Yuuji for comfort, because she knew it had to come out now. There was no getting away from it or avoiding it. She wanted to run away and visit with Yuuji but that wasn't going to happen. Because from the look that Ren, also everyone else, was giving her there was no escape. They were all waiting patiently for us to continue.

Sighing, looking up to the President, Yuuji knew they weren't getting out of here till they spilled their guts. Yuuji had no idea that he would be telling his story today in front of LME's President, Ren Tsuruga, and I think his manager. But he also didn't expect to find her either. He was happy. Yuuji was also very good at assessing the situation. From the looks of it, kyo-chi worked here because she looked very familiar with all parties involved. They seemed very protective of her, when she literally hopped into his arms. I would have been very confused and concerned myself, if it had been me… Furthermore, this Ren guy must like her because he looks like he wants to kill me right now. Probably doesn't help the situation that she is currently in my lap, nothing not normal for us but to them it was very odd. The glasses guy was extremely suspicious of him but also confused. The President was a mystery though, he had worry and confusion on his face but that was all he could tell from him. From the looks on all of their faces, this is not a normal thing they see from her on a day to day basis. It was a completely normal thing in the past for them to be this close but they didn't know that. This was going to be a long discussion then Kyoko sat up a little bit in his lap.

She breathed then started,

"When I was 4, my mother abandoned me at the Fuwa's. At the tender age of 4, I worked at a Ryokan did what a 4 year old could do. I washed, cleaned dishes, and cooked. It was hard then the Fuwa's hit a low point in their business. They couldn't not afford me, the work that I did wasn't enough to earn my place there. So they sold me off to a lab for tests where I went three nights a week then every other weekend. They made it look like I was staying with my mom at that time. That was how they played it off."

Yuuji cut in and added, "My family needed money to fund my brother's hospital bills. Both of my parents worked to try to cover our living expenses and his medical bills. But no matter how much they worked, we never could break even on our bills. So they decided to sell me to the lab to pay for my brother's hospital bills. I was there much more and longer than kyo-chi. They didn't care how long I was there or what they did. So I was there sometimes for days... eventually I would go home for school. Since my parents were always working they couldn't always come get me every time. So I would be there till they could come get me. They kept us in metal cages with a metal bucket, maybe a cloth to cover with at night. They didn't have many cages so they kept us together in the same cage.. Some kids never left, they were completely sold to the lab...they could never go home. There were others like us, that were "rented" as they liked to call us. Our parents would sign a waiver that the lab workers would be the guardians until they were returned to pick them up. The kids that came once in a while were put through small experiments and tests. Short term experiments that didn't need weeks or months just a day or so to complete. Unless you were a regular like us, since they had us for longer then they could do more. Some tests lasted weeks or months. They just started back where they left off a couple days beforehand. "

Before anyone could get a question or word in, Kyoko glanced at Ren... She was nervous but Yuuji was here so at least he could hold him off before she would be chopped, minced, and barbecued over a fire. She continued on the story,

"The longer you stayed there the more money they got. Sometimes I went to "summer camp" and stayed there the summer break which was a big paycheck in the end for the Fuwa's. Anytime they could make up a good excuse to go there, they would drop me off. The Fuwa's threatened me that if anyone found out where they were taking me; they would sell me and leave me there permanently. So I never told a soul, I was afraid I would be left in that damn place! We were kept in cages, starved, stripped of our clothing. It was always cold, we would sleep close together to keep warm at night. In the day, they would strap us to tables and inject us with who knows what and log our reaction to the drugs. If we didn't comply with their demands, we would be tortured and beaten till submission. Sometimes we would be beaten, stripped of your underwear then thrown into an ice filled bath. You felt as if the ice were needles pricking you everywhere on your skin. It was awful… I would rather just be beaten then put in that ice tub. Afterwards you would be thrown in the cage by yourself with still no clothes in the dark for hours. Other times you would be beaten, and tied up. In the cell, you would be delirious in the frigid room, your wounds would be pulsing, and your fever would make it seem like your head was going to explode. In that pitch black darkness with complete utter silence, it could drive a person mad being in there too long. Your heartbeat would be like a pounding drum in your ears as you laid there thinking every sound would make you go more insane. When finally, after it felt like days, the door would creek open. Then a light would blind you in that darkness, taking away your vision, and you would think... Are they going to finally kill you… I would ask myself over and over again. Afterwards they would roughly jerk your limp body up and take you away to bandage your wounds then force medication down your throat to keep you from dying off. Again… As if that wasn't enough, they would throw you in the cage again for the night. So to keep warm, Yuuji and I would hug each other closely to get some kind of warmth between us. It was always freezing in that room. When we left the lab, we would have bruises and wounds from the tests they ran, so they gave us this adhesive skin to keep others from finding out. It was like a skin to cover your injuries. Later, we used these to cover the scars that were left on our bodies all the time. The skin they gave us was so thin that nobody noticed the difference. It was almost like putting on another layer of skin. You got used to the feeling of it and people didn't notice a difference. I still use it to this day. I was able to find it so I could cover my scars. It is very expensive but it's better than people asking questions about your scars."

Memories were resurfacing as the tears streamed down her cheeks. The horror story she lived in was coming out. Yuuji held her close knowing it was hard for her as well him to talk about it. It was such a horrible time of their lives. Yuuji started again telling the haunting story they experienced,

"Eventually we were there so much that they transferred us to another division of the lab. It was the main experiment hall where they were trying to create a super cell. They were trying to create a super cell that could give humans inhuman strength. They thought that they could change the genetics in a male and female so they could reproduce a baby that would have inhuman strength. Their hypothesis was if they could slowly change the genes in the children as they grew up then they might be able to produce a baby with inhuman strength. So they constantly injected both males and females slowly in hopes to create their vision. What they injected us with, we have no idea... There were four stages to this experiment, we don't know what they were but us and others were subjected to countless upon countless tests, surgeries, and procedures. Since we were still too young, we didn't go through the later stages which were the most dangerous stages where most died from. Tons of subjects were put through the last stages of these experiments… died tragically from loss of blood, and multiple miscarriages. Out of 100 subjects, only 10 survivors lived through it. Later on, they finally called quits on the case and closed it. Kyo-chi and I were the only ones left on that floor because we had not reached maturity to go through the later stages. We had only gone through half of it and then we were moved to a different floor for other experiments. At this point Kyo-chi was 6 and I was 10 years old."

They just sat there in silence taking in this information. Not knowing what to say or how to say it. What could you say in this situation?

So the first chapter is done! Yay! What did y'all think? Yes, I know its dark but hey, everyone's got a dark past of something. See ya next time!
