(Brittney's pov}
It was sad day at the funeral of tony stark. I knew it was hard that he did what he could do to save us from Thanos and his army.
I know I can always remember him and all the things we did. Tony will always be in everyone's hearts.
Pepper and Morgan puts Tony's arc reactor in the water. I stood next to my friends. Boy I'm going to miss him just like I did when I missed Gamora.
After it was over I went towards the river to be alone I sat down looking at the water.
I remember what Bruce say to me he tried his best to bring his best to bring Gamora back. But I was grateful that he did what he could but I still I missed my friend who I was close too when I got kidnapped by Thanos.
"It's tough kid." Said a voice.
I looked up and saw Nebula.
"Hi Nebula, how did you find me?" I asked her.
" I went over towards ty and he pointed and showed me the way." She said.
"I'm not big on losing someone."
"I know that feeling." Nebula said sitting next to me.
"I know we just lost Tony."
"I was not exactly close to him." Nebula replied.
"I see I know how hard to get over, but I will try not let it bug me." I said.
"you will move on but don't tell anyone I said that."
I gave her a warm smile, "don't worry my lips are sealed. Gamora helped me cheer me up after Thanos destroy my necklace before you know what he did to her on Vormir."
"I know."
"do you think Gamora is watching us?" I asked her.
"she is the soul world by the stone you can bet she is." Nebula told me.
"Really think so?" I asked her.
"I know so."
"Thank you I feel a little better now." I told her.
Then Nebula patted me on the shoulder with her blue hand to clam me down. After a moment or too I was much better.
"uh is there something on your mind?" I asked Nebula.
"No, but I need you to come with me to the Benatar." She said with a smirk.
I stood up on my feet and she did the same and started walking.
"why are you taking me to the Benatar?" I asked her.
"we got a surprise for you." Nebula told me.
"I love surprises am I going back to Disneyland?"
Disneyland was my favorite place to have fun. Maybe the surprise is going to Disneyland.
"No guess again."
If it's not Disneyland then I started thinking about where I been to.
"SeaWorld? Knott's berry farm? Walt Disney world?"
"Not even close." Nebula replied.
What is the surprise? Nebula still had the smirk on her face. I decided to wait and see what the surprise was.
When we got to the Benatar Nebula went inside. Then Peter came out with Rocket Groot, Drax and Mantis. Peter was holding a Ravagers uniform.
"Hi Brittney." Said Peter.
"Hi Peter, you wanted to see me?" I asked him.
Here comes the surprise that Nebula was telling me about.
"Yes, I have a proposition for you." He said showing me the uniform.
"what is it peter?" I asked him.
"it's for you to join us and become a guardian."
"Does it help a lot of people?" I asked peter.
"We do something good sometimes bad and a bit of both. Now that you have the power of gravity that we need to save the galaxy you will be the newest member of the team we will have lots of fun together."
"wow that's wonderful!" I smiled.
"Whadda say you wanna be a guardian?" asked Peter me.
"are you serious!" I squealed full of excitement.
Rocket gave a toothy grin, "we took a vote; you're in."
"I'd love too what about Anthony?" I asked them.
Drax piped up, "he's on a journey of self-reflaction."
Groot nodded "I am Groot."
I gave them a warm smile and nodded my head to become a guardian they know what my answer was Peter gave me the uniform very happy with my choice.
Then Devin walked over towards me after the rest of my team went on board the ship. "heading out to the stars?"
"yep I'm an official guardian."
I gave him a thumps up, "I'll come home and visit, and I even told my parents."
Me and Devin did our handshake.
I asked him, "what about you?"
He replied as Wanda came over, "we still having avenging to do."
Wanda had a engagement ring on her hand.
He smiled "we'll send invites when we get a date set."
Before we could talk, we heard Nebula called out to me from the ship, "Brittney, get aboard!"
I ran up the rump, "coming!" I said not wanting to keep them waiting too long before I knew it was time too do the best job for the rest of my life.
I can't believe It was my first day as a guardian after Tony's funeral. My first day on the Benatar I was wearing the same clothes I wore for Tony's funeral I was holding my guardian's uniform. I had a sad look on my face because it was hard to say goodbye to Devin. Then my team notice how I was feeling. Peter came over towards me.
"What's wrong Brittney." Peter asked me.
"it was so hard to say goodbye since it went so fast." I told Peter.
"Brittney, we'll go visit Devin, johnny and all your friends. You can contact them when you're with us." Peter told me calming me down.
"your right Peter; it's not like I'm going to see them forever." I said calmly.
"Exactly are you feeling better Brittney?"
"Much better." I said happily.
"finally she's happy." Rocket replied.
"I will go get dressed." I replied.
I was about to go get dressed but I was stopped by Peter who held black comeback boots.
"Brittney, I got you these boots for you to wear." Peter replied as he handed me the boots.
I took the boots with a smile, "thank you Peter."
I went to go get changed into the uniform at bathroom. After I got dressed and put on the boots and left the bathroom.
"so how do I look?" I asked my team.
"You look like you are ready to save the galaxy Brittney." Peter complemented.
"Quill's right you look like a guardian." Drax spoke up.
"thank you. Bit I need one thing I need a cross necklace I was wearing before Thanos destroyed it." I said.
"I know you'll say that Rocket show her." said Peter
"what is it?" I asked.
Rocket came over to me he was holding the same cross necklace that Thanos destroyed but it was fixed.
"Rocket you fixed my necklace! I thought it was gone forever how did you do that?" I asked him.
"I found the pieces and reassemble it for you." Said Rocket giving me my necklace.
I put on my cross afterwards I came to give Rocket a hug.
"Thank you Rocket!" I said.
"Ok, you're are crashing me."
I let him go, "sorry, I'm so grateful I will never take it off." I said cheerfully.
"You have to take it off when you are sleeping and taking a shower you can wear it when you are fighting." Said Rocket.
"When did you started to become her dad?" asked Peter.
"Sorry, I will let you do that." He said.
"what do you mean my dad?" I asked Peter.
"Brittney I'm the captain of this group and father figure. Brittney, when you agreed to join us, your part of our family." Peter explained.
"Ok I'm glad I decided to go with you guys." I said.
"I'm glad too this is my ship my rules. Brittney you're going to have your own bunk where you are going to sleep." Peter told me.
"ok I understand Peter." I said.
"that's too bad the avengers compound got destroyed that Brittney's not going to have any training." Drax replied.
I shook my head "No Drax I don't need anymore training because I have been training with the avengers for 5 years."
Peter smiled, "if you been training with them that long you must be ready."
"I'm ready to protect the galaxy Peter I will try not to let you down." I promised.
"I know you will Brittney come with me. I will take you too your room." He said.
Peter lead me to the hall we went to a couple of rooms. Until I stopped to a door and peter did the same.
"Peter who's room is this?" I asked him.
"that's Gamora's room." Peter told me.
I was looking at Gamora's room door.
"Brittney are you alright?" Peter asked me.
I turned to Peter with a smile, "I'm fine Peter I just miss her so much." I said.
"I miss her too but we will find her."
"your right we'll find her."
Then we went to my room next door to Gamora's room. I opened the door. I saw a bed, closet, drawers, and a tv, my Disneyland book and my pin trading bag was on the bed.
"Peter it's my pin bag and my Disneyland book." I said.
"I have saved them for you I wanted you to 2 pieces of earth with you." He said.
"Thank you, Peter the room looks, nice I will love it here and also be a great guardian!" I said Cheerfully.
"Brittney you'll make lots of units." Peter smiled.
"what're units peter?"
"Units are what we called money and also credits you'll make lots of those." Said Peter.
"wow that's cool Peter."
"you really to protect the galaxy Brittney?"
I gave Peter a smile, "Yes, I'm ready to protect the galaxy Peter."
Me and Peter left my new room and went to protected the galaxy with my team and my new life.
