Welcome back! This is my fifth fanfic in case you don't know. Before reading this, please READ "IMMUNITY" in order to understand this story. "Immunity" introduces a character in the first chapter. You don't have to read that whole story, but this one will be confusing if you don't read Immunity's first chapter.

PLEASE NOTE: Sarge and his team do not exist for the purposes of this story. This is NOT a continuation of "From Weak to Strong", so whatever happened in that story did NOT happen here.

Enjoy!

Daisy was excited to get back to work. Now that the flu had pretty much gone away in the Lighthouse, everything went back to normal. Now, Daisy could focus on helping Zach. She'd hoped to turn him into an agent, or at least help him turn his life around. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but if she had a chance, she would never pass up the opportunity.

"Good morning," she said to the other Inhuman when she entered his room-slash-holding cell. She smiled and placed a tray of breakfast on the table.

"'Morning, Daisy. I'm glad to hear you're better," he said to her cheerfully.

She crossed her arms, rolling her eyes and chuckling. "It was nothing. Anyway, how are you doing?"

He shrugged, leaning against the wall. "I'm okay. A little stir-crazy in this...box."

Daisy sighed. "I know, Zach, and I'm sorry. But it's a precaution we have to take."

He nodded. "I completely understand."

"How have you been doing controlling your powers?" Daisy asked him.

"Great, actually. Your method really helps."

"Good to hear."

"I think I'm ready to test the limits of my powers, you know..." He smirked. "...Try to become a—"

Daisy rolled her eyes. "A superhero," she finished.

He looked confused. "Yes. How did you—"

"You aren't the first Inhuman I've tamed before, Zach."

He sighed in defeat. "Fair enough."

Daisy put a hand on his shoulder and he looked up. "Hey, Zach, you're gonna get through this. I'll talk to my boss and see what I can do for you."

He smiled a little. "Okay. Thanks, Daisy."

She nodded and turned around to leave the room.

"Wait!" he exclaimed just as she got to the door. Daisy felt a rush of cold water on her back.

She spun around to see him holding his hand up. He looked mortified. "Oops..." he whispered, turning his palm around to look at it.

Daisy scoffed and moved her wet hair away from her face. "You were saying?"

Zach was embarrassed. "Umm...never mind..."

Daisy opened the door. "If you say so."

"What the..." May started.

"He lost control," Daisy replied robotically as she grabbed a towel from the nearby cabinet.

May smirked at her as Daisy wrapped the towel around her shoulders. "At least he doesn't shoot fire from his hands."

Daisy just glared at May and walked away to get changed.

"Do you think he's worthy to be an agent?" Mack asked Daisy. They were in the main Lighthouse room.

"He'll need more training, and I don't fully trust him yet," Daisy replied.

Mack held his chin and leaned against the desk in thought. "Is it because he mugged people?"

"Mainly," she responded. "When Joey first got his powers, he didn't mug people just to get what he wanted. Yo-Yo certainly didn't abuse her powers before joining SHIELD, not unless she felt it was completely necessary."

"You didn't abuse yours, either," Mack added. "I see your point. Does he show any signs of wanting to be an agent?"

"Sort of. He wants to know the limits of his powers. He wants to be a superhero."

"So typical," Mack scoffed.

"I know, but I think it shows a little bit of hope. Like he's...like he might care."

After a few moments, Mack had an idea. "Let's test his trust. Take him on a mission and observe him; watch him closely and see if he's trustworthy."

Daisy grinned. "He'll eat that up."

"Where do I come in?" Zach asked Daisy. He, Daisy, and May were getting ready to go on a mission; an 0-8-4 in New York City. A man had found it in a Manhattan alley and was curious as to what it was. They didn't have much explanation, but apparently SHIELD was needed to contain it.

"You're our backup," Daisy told him as she handed him a Kevlar vest and boots. "You follow our orders. Only leave the quinjet if we tell you to."

"Yes, ma'am," he said as he put on the gear.

"I don't trust him," May told Daisy. They sat in the cockpit and Zach was out of earshot in the back.

"Me neither, not fully," the younger woman replied. "That's why we're taking him on this mission."

"I'm worried he'll sabotage us, or not follow our orders." May kept her eyes on the sky as she flew the jet.

"If he doesn't follow our orders, we'll know not to trust him."

"Stay here and pay attention to your comms. If we tell you to come out, then leave the jet. If we don't, stay here. We need your for our backup in case this gets violent," Daisy told Zach after they landed.

"Don't you have other agents who are better at this?" Zach asked her.

Daisy opened her mouth to say something, but stopped herself. She eyed May then looked back at Zach. "You said you wanted to be a superhero, so now's your chance."

He smirked, placing his earpiece in his ear. "Copy that."

May and Daisy left the quinjet, which May had landed on a helicopter pad.

"It's in that alley," May told Daisy, pointing to the alleyway stories below their feet. "I'll take the long way, through the building. Can you get down there safely?"

Daisy stared at the alley. "I can." She patted her handgun. "Hopefully I won't run into any hostiles."

"Good luck," May said to her former student as she approached the door to the building.

Daisy walked to the very edge of the building and took a deep breath. She prepared herself and jumped off, soaring in the air. Before hitting the ground, she used her quakes to cushion the fall.

"Well I'll be darned..." came a male voice. Daisy spun around to see a police officer standing at the edge of the alley. Next to him stood a female officer and behind them was the police car.

"Who are you?" asked the policewoman, raising her gun at Daisy.

"I'm with SHIELD. Is this the location of the unknown object?" she asked.

The policewoman lowered her weapon. "Yes." She approached the Inhuman and pointed to a dumpster. "A homeless man came in here to look for food. He found something else instead."

Daisy hesitantly opened the dumpster and climbed up a little to see inside. She saw a terrigen crystal, an item she was all-too familiar with.

"I know what this is," Daisy told them, carefully picking it up so it wouldn't break. "I can take care of this."

"How do we know we can trust you?" the policewoman asked. "I mean, you just jumped from a 50-story building entirely unscathed."

The male officer approached them. "She's right. We know enough about this crystal to know it has to do with Inhumans." He raised his gun at her. "How do we know we can trust you if you're an Inhuman yourself?"

Daisy raised her arms in defense. "I'm a SHIELD agent. I may be Inhuman, but I'm not here to hurt anyone."

"We can't let you take that," the female officer said, gesturing to the crystal.

"Officer, I have to. That's what I'm here for. We'll take care of it, I promise."

"Ma'am, if you don't put that object down, we're going to have to bring you in," said the man.

"No, you won't," came a familiar voice. May entered the alleyway.

The officers turned their guns on May. "Who are you?" asked the woman.

"Another SHIELD agent. She's with us, I promise," she said, gesturing to Daisy.

The officers lowered their weapons. "We apologize, agent," the man told Daisy. "Proceed with your duties."

Daisy just nodded and approached May.

"A terrigen crystal?" May gasped as the women approached the building.

Daisy nodded and shoved it into a safe pocket on her suit. "I'll be careful with it."

The women stepped into an elevator. "What was their problem?" May asked. "Those officers had no reason to assume they couldn't trust you, just because you're Inhuman."

"Welcome to the world," Daisy said sarcastically. She shrugged. "Then again, I jumped from a skyscraper in front of their eyes."

May smirked. "They were probably jealous."

Daisy laughed.

Once they got back to the helipad, they went to the jet. Daisy stepped inside but found no signs of Zach.

"Where is he?" May asked, beginning to panic.

Daisy touched her earpiece. "Zach? Do you copy?"

No answer.

"Well, where the heck is he?" Daisy said to herself.

"He certainly couldn't have jumped off the building," May thought out loud. "But I feel like I would've seen him coming down in the elevator."

"It's all too weird," Daisy said. "He has no reason to leave the quinjet."

"Yeah, I did," came a male voice. The women turned around to see Zach entering the quinjet.

May crossed her arms. "Care to explain yourself, Mr. Porsin?"

"I was only doing what I thought was right," he replied. Before the women could react, he raised his arms and released streams of water, plunging them into the walls of the jet and knocking them out.

Uh oh, Zach made a mistake! Let me know what you think of the story so far. Do you want to see Zach become a SHIELD agent or bad guy? Tell me in your reviews.
