Nicole Spartan was a beautiful thirty-one year old. She was short with dark brown hair down to the middle of her back and dark brown eyes. She was of Mexican heritage from her mom and Italian heritage from her dad. She had fair skin like her dad. Originally she was from West Newbury, Massachusetts but now lived in Los Angeles. She was studying to be a lawyer. She was waiting tables until she graduated. She only had a year left. She was working a shift at night. It was a little slow. Someone came in and sat down to the counter she wasn't really paying attention.
"What can I get you?" She asked.
"A cheeseburger and french fries" The man said. She looked at him.
"John." She said surprised. "John Cena."
"Do I know you?"
"I used to live down the street from you in West Newbury." "You don't remember me do you?"
"No."
"Well I don't blame you." "I was only twelve the last time I saw you." "It's been, jesus, nineteen years."
"Wait?" "Is your mom Faith?"
"Yes."
Nicole Spartan?"
"Yes."
"Wow you look-
"Terrible I know." "With my class load and working here I barely have any time to sleep."
"I was going to say you look great."
"Oh." She smiled. "Thanks."
"You're welcome."
After John had finished his meal Nicole went back up to him.
"Was everything ok?" She asked.
"Great." "Nicole what time do you get off?"
"I start closing up at midnight."
"By yourself?"
"Yeah."
"Can I come back?"
"Yeah"
It was around midnight. Nicole was cleaning up. There was a knock at the door. She looked up, saw John and unlocked the door to let him in.
"Hi." He said.
"Hi."
He sat at the counter. "How was the rest of your night?""
"Good."
"Good."
"I noticed one of my customers left me a hundred dollar bill tonight." She said looking at him and smiling.
"Maybe because you're a good waitress." He said smiling back.
"You didn't have to do that." "Thank you."
"You're welcome." "You mentioned a class load earlier, what are you taking?"
"I'm studying to be a lawyer." "I only have a year left." "I would've been done years ago but something happened that derailed my plans for a few years." "What are you doing in LA?"
"I'm filming a movie."
""I've seen a few of your movies."
"You have?"
"Yeah." "I've seen The Marine, 12 Rounds and Trainwreck." "A scene in Trainwreck must've been difficult for you to shoot." She said smiling.
"It was a little awkward but they were really nice about it." "What did you think?"
You did very well in it." She said smiling.
"How's your mom?"
"She's good."
"Did she ever remarry?"
"No."
"I always liked her." "She's such a nice lady." "So let's see, we haven't seen each in nineteen years that would make you…
"Thirty-one." "Which would make you forty-two."
"Exactly right."
They were getting ready to leave.
"Can I call you while I'm in town?" He asked.
""Sure." "I'll give you my number." They exchanged numbers.
"It was nice seeing you Nicole." "It was nice seeing you to John." They hugged and got in there cars.
"I'm starting to remember why I had crush on him when I was little. "He's still so damn hot." She thought.
