This takes place two days after the movie.
"I won't let you take them!" Sonic shouted at Robotnik, trying to guard his new owners. "We'll see about that." Robotnik said, grinning. He pressed a button and out came a huge robot with massive claws. "Will you just leave us alone! We didn't do anything!" Tom angrily shouted. He squinted as the light from the bright eyes of the robot blinded him. "Ow! You bastard!"
Sonic ran towards the robot and prepared to strike it down, but was met with a huge smack from the robot's arm. Sonic fell flat on his face. Strange. He didn't feel much pain, though his gloved hand was stained with blood. Sonic growled. He started running back to kick robot ass once more but was met with the same result. This time, Sonic did feel the pain. He laid there on the ground in pain. "Sorry rat, you're no match for my gadgets!" Robotnik cackled. "Sonic!" Tom and Maddie yelled. The robot had the two clutched in it's big metallic arms.
"No!" Sonic cried. The robot pointed it's arms toward the two. It's hand transformed into a blaster, it pointed it's blaster even closer to the two as it charged. "Say bye-bye to your quote-on-quote parents, Sonic!" Robotnik cackled. Sonic's eyes widened. Tears formed and trickled down his face. "STOP!" Sonic yelled once more. Tom and Maddie flinched as the blaster went off.
NO! Sonic yelped as he quickly sat up in his bed. Sonic looked around, he was in his room. Sonic sighed in relief, holding his chest. Tears formed in the blue hedgehog's emerald green eyes, he quickly wiped them away and closed his eyes. He thought he'd be alone forever. After all these years living alone on this planet, Sonic had finally found someone who actually cares about him. He finally had...a family. He couldn't lose them. He opened his eyes and saw Tom standing on the attic stairs. Tom spoke. "You okay?"
Sonic blushed. He must've shouted so loud, it woke him up. "Uh yeah, I-I'm fine Tom, you can go back to bed." Tom looked at him funny. "You don't look fine." Sonic's face looked white as a sheep, his eyes were tear-stained, his fur was all ruffled up, and his expression looked frightened. Sonic spoke again. "I'm honestly fine. Just go back to sleep, everything's all right." Sonic insisted.
Tom didn't believe him for a second. He walked up the last step and sat down on Sonic's bed. Tom knew exactly what was the matter. "Nightmare?" He asked. Sonic looked away in embarrassment, on the verge of tears. "N...no." Sonic lied. He felt embarrassed to tell Tom the truth. He was too proud to express how he really felt. Tom knew how he was feeling. "What was it about." Sonic couldn't hold it in anymore. His ears dropped and tears started streaming down his face. "I...I...lost you...and Maddie." Sonic weakly spoke.
"C'mere buddy." Tom held out his arms. Sonic couldn't resist, the offer was too good to pass up. Sonic fell into Tom's arms and hugged him tightly. He snuggled against Tom's chest as he bawled. "I...I-I can't lose you. I w-was so lonely, and n-now I finally have someone who...who loves me." Tom smiled as he stroked Sonic's quills. "I'm not going anywhere, I promise." Sonic whimpered and hugged him tighter. He never wanted to let go. He felt if he let go, he'd lose him. He couldn't let that happen. His ear went up when he heard footsteps coming up the stairs.
Sonic took his face out of Tom's chest and saw Maddie standing on the steps, she noticed Sonic crying. "Whats the matter?" She asked, looking at both Sonic and Tom. "He had a nightmare." Tom told her. Maddie walked up the steps and sat on the other side of the bed next to Sonic. "You okay sweetie?" She asked him. Sonic nodded. He hugged Maddie as well, tightly. "I love you both." He said. Maddie returned the hug. "Aw, I love you too honey." She kissed him on the forehead, which just made Sonic cry even more. He spoke again. "I think of you two as my-my own family. Like...parents. I was alone for all these years, and now If finally have a...a family." Sonic sobbed. Maddie stroked his quills. Tom smiled, and joined in on the hug. Sonic snuggled against them both. He wanted this to last forever. "I'm sorry if I'm being a burden." He told them. He was met with a finger on his mouth. Maddie shushed him. "Sonic, you're not a burden. If there's anything that you need-" "We're here for you." Tom finished her.
Maddie shook her head. "Can't you wait for someone to finish talking before barging into someones conversation." Maddie said jokingly. That made Sonic giggle. Tom shrugged. "Sorry, then." Maddie wiped the tears off of Sonic's eyes. "This is embarrassing but..." Sonic tried to ask them something. "What is it?" Maddie asked him. "Yeah spit it out." Tom told him. Sonic blushed. "Is it okay if...if...i could sleep with you two...just for tonight?" Sonic finally got it out. Maddie and Tom smiled. "Sure you can. You can sleep with us every night, it won't bother us." Sonic smiled. He held out his arms to be picked up. Maddie thought he was too cute to not. She picked him up and held him in her arms. He snuggled against her. They both got out of bed and went downstairs to their room. Sonic liked being picked up, it made him feel like he was a little kid again. Like when Longclaw used to carry him as a baby. He felt so loved and cared for, he wanted to stay here forever, with them.
Maddie and Tom got to their bedroom and she laid him down in the middle of the bed and pulled the blankets over his body. They both got in bed and laid next beside Sonic. They both put their arm around Sonic. "Goodnight Sonic." They both said. Sonic snuggled against them both, so warm and comfortable. "Goodnight Mom and Dad." He said. They both rubbed his quills until drifted to sleep. Sonic knew nothing could ruin this moment, he wasn't going to switch planets anytime soon. He had wonderful dreams that night.
