Stars glittered all around and silence hung in the air, disturbed only by the pacing of a ginger tabby cat. His ears were flat against his head as he stalked, his tail lashing.
"Firestar, are you alright?" a soft voice asked. The legendary tom jerked his head up and advanced on his questioner, his pelt bristled.
"Leafpool, do I look alright?" he growled. "How am I supposed to deliver this prophecy. It foretells the doom of the Clans! I can't bring this upon them!"
"Firestar, the reason we tell them is so they can stop it," Leafpool pointed out softly. Firestar rounded on her, his green eyes glimmering with fury.
"This will be the end of the Clans. The end of everything I've worked for; everything I've loved!"
Leafpool rested her tail on her father's shoulder.
"No, it won't. We'll choose our heroes, born from our Clans, and I'll send someone to guide their pawsteps. I'm sure our heroes of the past will guide those in our future."
She padded off, and Firestar sat down with a huff. Leafpool didn't know the prophecy, didn't hear the dark words.

Hey everyone! My name is Stormy and I hope you enjoyed this short prologue. I tend to write short chapters, which I'm sorry about, but it's something I'm working on.
I will be accepting OC submissions for Shadows of the Past, so if you're interested, please send a heap of OCs my way! I do have some rules though.
1. Canon prefixes and suffixes only - No cats named Cometpaw or Moonglimmer.
2. I will probably change your cats' appearance a tiny bit, since I like to have genetically accurate OCs. I will do as little tweaking as possible, but sometimes, it will be necessary.
3. Be polite and don't complain if your cat is not chosen as the main character. Yes, five young cats will be chosen as the main characters of the story.
