"Zelda! Zeldaaaaaaa!" Peach hastily dashed over to the Hylian Princess gazing at the mesmorizing view from the bridge.
Startled, Zelda turned to the girl who rudely interrupted her daydream, but she didn't mind. "Hmm? What's wrong, Pea-" but before she could even ask, Peach had barged into her with a sudden hug out of nowhere, with tears streaming down her face and now onto Zelda's royal dress. This was uncharacteristic of her to be so overwhelmed by emotion. "Zelda, P-Please! Help me!" Begged the pink princess.
Being the kind-hearted and cheerful princess that she was, Zelda complied despite being completely oblivious as to what had happened. "O-okay! Don't worry, Peach. It's going to be oka-" She attempted to comfort her in order to calm her down a little, but it was to no avail.
"NO!! NO IT WON'T! I-It's terrible..." The poor princess began to sob even harder, drowning both of their dresses in tears in the process.
Zelda wrapped her hands around her slightly shorter friend and attempted to console her once more. "Peach, please try to calm down. Know that I'm here to support you, and I'll help you through whatever it is you need!"
Thankfully, her consolation seemed to have helped a little this time. "O-okay then... I-I'm sorry for disturbing you so suddenly, but...-"
"No, no, it's fine! Don't worry about me. Now, what is it that you're worried about?" They gently let go of each other as Peach started to regain composure.
"W-Well... one of the toads came hurrying to tell me that Mario had been captured...!" Mumbled Peach as she wiped her tears away.
"Oh, that's horrible! Is Bowser at it again?"
"It wasn't Bowser..." Peach continued, perplexing Zelda. "...It was Ganondorf!"
"What?!" The Hylian Princess exclaimed in her shock. "But why would he..."
"I-I don't know! I'm so frustrated but scared and helpless!! I just wanna kill him but I-"
Zelda put her hand on the pink princess's shoulder. "Peach! Please, try to control yourself. I understand that you must be stressed, but acting rashly out of anger will only make things worse. Take some deep breaths and recollect your thoughts."
"I... O-Okay." Peach followed her friend's advice and she luckily began to calm down again.
"Remember, it'll all be okay! I would be more than happy to help you save him if that's what you came to ask me for."
"Y-yes, that's what I was hoping. Thank you so much, Zelda! You are a lot stronger than me, with your magic and all. I hope it's not too much to ask..." A weak smile suddenly took over her face, which pleased Zelda knowing that she could make her happy again.
"Of course not! I'm happy to help." Zelda smiled back at her friend in response. "Hey, do you wanna know a little secret? It's about Ganon's biggest weakness. It's what we should aim to exploit if we plan on fighting him."
"Oh, Yes! That will be useful to take him down. I'm still really nervous about facing him..." Peach responded in curiosity.
"So, Ganondorf has kidnapped me numerous times, but in the most recent one I actually managed to escape by myself without any assistance from Link." The Hylian Princess's story intrigued her friend. "My strategy probably isn't what you're expecting. I just had to... get on his nerves a little bit."
"Get on his nerves? You mean you... annoyed him into freeing you? What do you mean?" The idea sent Peach into deep thought.
"Well, since Ganondorf's ego literally pierces through the heavens, any sort of taunt or criticism will really get his blood boiling. So, I just kept taunting him until he raged and slipped up, allowing me to escape."
"But, wouldn't making him really angry just make him want to kill you or something?" Peach was skeptical of the idea.
"Exactly." Zelda replied.
"What?!"
"When Ganon's mad, he becomes insanely stupid. In my last escape, as he stared at me in the cage with a taunting grin, I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine. I started by poking fun at his horrendous new haircut. I couldn't help but giggle at it."
"What did he do after that?" Peach asked in curiousity. The thought of seeing the kidnapper enraged sounded like a satisfying feeling.
"Suddenly, that grin was wiped straight off his face, his eyebrows narrowed and he started to growl in pure anger. After seeing how wound up he got, I decided to keep it going. I threw a few more taunts at him to build up his frustration, because seeing him mad was amusing to me. Eventually, he completely lost his cool. He said something along the lines of 'I'm gonna crush you with my bare hands if you don't be quiet!' in the loudest, most furious voice I'd ever heard. I was like 'Are you sure? You sound tough, but I have a feeling that you're just a little weakling deep down ;)'. And then, he let out a gigantic scream in his frustration."
"Oh goodness... was it scary?" Peach questioned.
"A little bit, but I didn't let my fear show. I just responded my laughing in his face, saying 'Awww, is Ganon losing his little temper? I guess he just can't handle the fact that even a little princess is stronger than him! I know you're scared of me deep down.', sending him a taunting wink to top it all off. That's what tipped him over the edge. Blinded by his rage and burning desire to prove me wrong, he ripped open the cage and attempted to attack me. And then... woosh!"
"...Woosh?" Peach seemed puzzled.
"Whilst I distracted him with my taunts, he was completely oblivious to the fact that I was setting up a Phantom Knight directly behind him. Just as he ripped open the cage, I demanded the knight to charge and his attack sent him flying to the right. That was my chance to escape. I hurried out of the cell and managed to escape with no bruises! Luckily, Ganon is extremely slow, so even when he did get up to try and catch me, he couldn't keep up, hehe."
"Haha! That story was funny! You're so smart, Zelda. I've never thought about playing mindgames like that as a strategy before..."
Zelda was glad to see her friend in higher spirits again. "Against some people, having an emotional advantage can be just as strong as having a physical one, if not moreso. I think that's where us damsels in distress can shine. We may not be the strongest physically, but being locked up all day gives us a lot of time to think up ways to trick our enemies into making silly decisions. That's the strategy I think we should employ against Ganon."
Zelda's idea had really motivated Peach. It was as if she was actually excited to fight Ganondorf now! All of her fear and anger had been flipped upside down, just like her frown. "Hehe, I feel like people do underestimate us sometimes. No one expects princesses in dresses to know how to fight, or to think up battle strategies. I think Ganon will be in for a shock this time!" She added in her excitement.
"Haha, there's the cheerful and optimistic Peach I'm used to seeing!" Cheered the Hylian Princess. "In all honesty, Ganondorf isn't as strong as he looks, and certainly not mentally. I think that, between the two of us, all we have to do is get his blood boiling so that his emotions take over and he gets reckless and impatient. Then we should be able to take him down in his enraged state."
"I've got an idea!" Said Peach as she jumped up and down in excitement.
"What's on your mind?" Asked Zelda, intrigued as to what she was thinking of.
"How about this: I'll go in and call out to him to get his attention. Then, I'll keep provoking and annoying him to the point where he loses control and attacks me. Whilst he's distracted by me, you can secretly charge up a Phantom Knight behind him, and command it to ambush him as soon as he charges at me!"
"Hmmm, yes, that could work!" Zelda nodded in agreement. "Nice idea, Peach! Pretty much any jab at his ego will completely set him off. By the time you've lured him into attacking, my Phantom should be charged to extreme levels. He'll be weakened after the attack, allowing us to follow up with more attacks."
"Yes! There's just one small problem though... I don't actually know where he is."
"Oh, he's probably in that huge castle over there." Zelda pointed out into the view to a gigantic dark purple fortress in the background. "Can you see it over there? The big purple one."
"O-Oh goodness... that's a lot scarier than Bowser's..." Peach was suddenly terrified again, but luckily Zelda was there to calm her down.
"Hehe, don't worry. It's not even close to as scary as it looks. You see, there's actually no security whatsoever. He really just keeps the entire castle all to himself, and whoever he has locked up... the stench is pretty disgusting though."
"Does that mean we can kind of just... walk in there and fight him?" Peach really expected Ganondorf to be at least a tiny bit better than Bowser at being a villain, but her expectations were sounding far from reaslistic at the moment.
"After a lengthy, tiresome trip up the staircase, I think so. I told you he was a bit of a pea brain!"
Peach giggled at her comment. "Ahahaha! Well then, I'm ready to save Mario, and watch Ganondorf explode in anger! Shall we go now?"
"Yes! I'm ready when you are!"
The two royals raced to the castle as fast as they could, getting perplexed gazes from bypassers due to how surprisingly quick they were in their elegant long dresses. They finally reached the entrance after about 5 minutes of running through the scorching heat, but to peach it felt like hours. "H-how are you- not even out of breath- yet?!" Peach panted as she collapsed straight to the ground, causing a loud thud.
"Peach! Are you alright?" Zelda instantly came to her aid. "That fall sounded like it hurt... here, take this medicine. It should help you catch your breath qui-"
Peach snatched it straight out of her hands before she could even finish and guzzled down the red liquid with no hesistation. All of a sudden, she started to feel better. "T-Thank you, Zelda, but, how are you not out of breath at all? Did you use some sort of magic spell that gave you infinite energy?"
"Hehe! No, I guess it just takes a lot to tire me out."
"Are you really sporty or something? You don't seem like the type of person who'd be into that..."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"O-oh, nothing! Sorry, that sounded worse than it did in my head..."
Zelda giggled. "I think you just need to do a little more exercise, instead of relying on Mario to do all of it for you ;)"
Annoyed by her comment, Peach's fists suddenly became clenched as she stood up from her fall. "Excuse me?! You little-!"
"Oooh, it looks like Mushroom Kingdom's Princess is losing her cool a little! I thought you were a calm and collected little girl?" Taunted Zelda as she rested her hands on her hips, giving her friend a provocative little grin that made her comment all the more irritating.
"Grrrrr! Stop it! I'll punch if I have to!" Peach was enraged at her fellow princess.
It surprised Zelda how drastically her mood could change. "Ahahahaha! Oh, calm down, Peach! I'm only teasing you."
The pink princess had luckily calmed down a little, but still felt humiliated for being toyed with like that. "Hmph! Just, don't do that again, okay?"
"It was you who started it!"
"Only by accident!!" Her blood had started simmering again. "You didn't have to escalate it like that!"
"Aha! I'm sorry. Seeing you so frustrated was cute, though."
"Grrrr, I can see why Ganondorf would get tipped over the edge by you now. I didn't know you were so good at teasing people."
"I guess there are a lot of things people don't know about me. Teasing is funny when you get the reactions you're looking for, just like the one you've just given me."
"Grrrr!"
"Hey, calm down! I'm starting to think your temper might even be shorter than Ganondorf's!"
"That isn't helping!!" Shouted Peach in anger.
"Hehe, but seriously, try to control yourself. You can't let your emotions get in your way in battle. Ganon should be the emotional one here so we can turn his anger against him." Zelda attempted to refocus Peach on their objective.
Peach recollected her thoughts "Y-yes, you're right. I'm sorry for snapping at you." She murmured, apologizing for her outburst.
"It's okay. Now, let's move forward and save Mario!" Zelda cheered in an attempt to lift her friend's spirits.
"Yes! Let's go!" Agreed the pink princess, excited to get her revenge.
The two blonde princesses ventured through the castle doors. It was dark, eerie, and definitely freaked Peach out a little. No security was in sight, as they expected.
"Over there." Zelda pointed over to a seemingly endless staircase going up to the top of the castle.
"W-what?! A-are you sure these stairs aren't actually endless?!" Spoke the pink princess with a tremble in her voice.
"Calm down, I promise it's not as long as it looks." Reassured Zelda to calm her friend.
"Grrr, w-whatever! Lets hurry up these stairs and save Mario as soon as possible. I'm tired of waiting!!" Peach impulsively dashed up the long staircase without thinking
"Peach! Wait!" Cried Zelda in the loudest whisper she possibly could. "You need to calm down and control yourself. Impatience will only lead to more errors. You'll be out of breath by the time you reach the top if you rush up there, and it's likely that Ganon will be able to hear you. We have to stay cautious."
Peach sighed in frustration, knowing that her friend was right. She half-heartedly complied and slowed down to avoid alerting Ganon.
The princesses slyly ventured their way up the staircase, but after a few minutes of walking there still seemed to be no end in sight. Peach's impatience and frustration began to build up again. "Are you sure these stairs actually lead to somewhere? I just want to save Mario already, but these stairs are testing my patience...!" She spoke in the loudest whisper possible.
"Peach... I've been thinking that it may be best for us to switch roles." Zelda replied in her calmer, soothing voice.
"T-that doesn't answer my-"
"I know, Peach, but you seem really on edge and agitated today. You don't want your own anger getting in the way when you're trying to frustrate Ganon. Otherwise, he'll just take advantage and make you lose your cool instead. You don't want him beating you in the 'psychological warfare' right?"
"W-what? Yes, I understand, but... I really wanna get my revenge by myself!" Peach exclaimed in a loud whisper.
"I understand how you feel, but for the sake of this part, maybe it's best if I do the taunting? I've already annoyed him into losing his cool once before, and am in a better frame of mind than you are right now."
"...No! Because then... what use am I? You have all those powerful spells, Zelda! I can't do very much in comparison. If I can't be used as some sort of bait or distraction, then what use would I be?"
Zelda thought for a moment, then came to the conclusion that Peach was probably right. "Well... okay then. If you really want to be the one getting under his skin, then that's fine. Just remember to keep your emotions in check, okay?"
"I will, hehe! He'll be the one getting all emotional once we get to the top of this place... I'm excited to see his anger spiral out of control ;)" the pink princess giggled with excitement at her own thoughts.
"As am I! Now, try to keep your head up as we go through these stairs. I promise they'll end eventually."
"Okay!"
After several more minutes of trodding up the stairs through the unbearable smell, the princess finally came to a vast, bright red door, seeming to lead to a pretty important room.
"We're finally here!" Peach exclaimed in another overly loud whisper.
"Shhhh!" Replied Zelda with her finger on her lips, signalling to her friend to be quiet. "Can you hear that?" Through the door, the sound of Ganondorf's deep, condescending voice could be heard.
"Yes... let's listen in." Peach suggested. Zelda nodded in agreement as they stuck their ears to the doors.
"Hahahahahaha! What are you going to do, fat plumber? You're gonna be stuck in this cell for the rest of your life!" Taunted the tall, dark king as he watched the red plumber convulse in his enraged state. "With the star of the show out of the question, who will come to save you? Do you really think that sorry excuse of a brother will have a chance against me? Or what about that girly little pink princess that you're so head over heels for? HA! I doubt she'd be able to make her way here, but it would be fun to annihilate her right in front of your eyes."
"Grrrrrrrrr!!!!" Mario began to growl in his fury. Zelda and Peach could vividly hear every word.
"Grrr!! How dare he make fun of me! How dare he toy with Mario like that! I'm gonna show hi-"
"Wait! Peach!" Zelda interrupted, seeing that she had a burning urge to bust down the door in her fury. "We need to keep our cools. Don't let him get to you. I promise you'll get your revenge, but only if you can resist his mockery for just a little longer." Luckily, their whispers were just about quiet enough to where Ganon couldn't detect them.
Peach took a long, deep breath, and nodded in agreement. "You're right. So, shall we get started now? I can't let Mario suffer like this..."
"Yes. Once you open the door and have baited him into turning around, I'll secretly teleport up to one of the balconies behind him and start charging my Phantom. Keep him infuriated for as long as possible, and then I'll order it to charge when he starts attacking you."
"Okay, got it!"
"Good! Are you ready?"
"Of course! I can't wait to get my revenge, hehehe..."
"Alright. Three, two, one... Go!"
Without hesitation, Peach busted open the right door as Zelda kept hidden behind the left. She was met with a gigantic, ocean blue room which had a circular formation. There were multiple balconies that circled around the room as if it was an arena for people to watch death battles. There was luckily no audience to stress Peach out though, not counting Zelda. Straight ahead in the center of the room was the tiny cage which Mario was stuck in as Ganon toyed with him from the outside.
"Yoohoo!! Over hereeeee!" Peach called out in her loudest voice as she let out an enthusiastic wave to grab her enemies' attention, interrupting him mid speech. Her voice echoed quietly through the entire room.
Startled, Ganon turned around to face whatever was causing the noise. "WHO GOES THER- Oh? Princess Peach?!" He struggled to contain his laughter. Zelda took the opportunity to teleport into position.
"Mmm-hmm! Nice to meet you, Mr Ganondorf! I'm just here to return a favor for Mario, if you know what I mean." The pink princess's cheerful persona was merely a cherade. Deep down she was still agitated and desperate to see Ganon fall, but she was a surprisingly convincing actress.
The evil king began to laugh out loud in hysteria at the princess's greeting as he crossed his arms. "Hahahahahahahaha! You? Saving Mario? What a funny little princess you are! Maybe your sense of humor is the reason this plumber is so into you!"
His patronizing tone angered Peach a little more, but she still managed to keep her feelings hidden. "Awww, that's sweet of you! I wish I could return the compliment, buuuut... the only thing funny about you is that goofy little haircut!" Peach giggled as she pointed directly at the horrible hairstyle. Zelda couldn't help but chuckle a little herself.
Ganon's mood suddenly flipped. Small hints of embarrasment and irritation rushed through his veins. "...Hmph. It seems you are not so funny after all. That was a terrible joke."
Peach's mood lightened a bit, seeing that her comment had gotten to him. "Oops! I'm sorry, did I make you maaad with that one? I promise that it definitely wasn't my intention! Please forgive m-"
"SILENCE!" Yelled the dark king, frustrated by the princess's mockery.
Peach lifted her palms up to her face to mimic a frightened expression. "Ooooh, I'm sooooo scared, ahaha! Anyways, it's best that you do as I say and release Mario. You don't want to be tossed around and beat up by a little princess, do you?"
"What?!" Ganon questioned in bafflement as his eyebrows narrowed. "Does this stupid princess seriously think she can take on the legendary King of Darkness?!"
Peach smirked to wind up her enemy a little more. "Hehehe, I think you'll be in for an unpleasant surprise if you're underestimating my strength ;)"
Ganondorf's frustration with the blonde beauty was quickly building up. "Be quiet! You are nothing compared to me!"
Peach was getting immense satisfaction from watching her enemies' anger build up inside of him. "Ahahaha! Listen, I get that you're agitated, but you need to stop with this irrational thinking! There's no way someone like you would beat me in a fight! You know you're lying to yourself!" Taunted the princess as she rested her hands on her hips, exuding a confident aura about her.
"GrrrrRRRRR!!" Ganon growled in frustration. "FINE! If you want to save your Mario, then come at me!"
"No, I'll be nice and spare you the pain just this once. How about you kindly free him instead? I did ask nicely, after all. That way, you'll get to avoid a humiliating beating from a little princess, and you can go home scar free ;)"
"How dare you have the nerve to tell me what to do in MY castle! You are seriously testing my patience!" Blurted Ganon in his anger, making it evident to Peach that her strategy was working, in case it wasn't obvious enough.
"Oh come on, think about it! If you set him free, you get to avoid a brutal beating from a princess! Isn't that a tempting offer? Don't let anger cloud your judgement!"
"WILL YOU BE QUIET?!?!" Screamed the enraged king as he slammed his foot on the ground, causing a mini earthquake in the room. "Why are you princesses so damn ANNOYING now?! FIRST ZELDA AND NOW YOU?!"
Peach was LOVING this! Seeing her enemy so furious was far too amusing to hold in her laughter. "Ehehehe! It looks like the so-called King of Darkness is having a little trouble controlling his temper! Be careful, Ganon. It looks like your anger is getting the better of you...!"
"GRRRRRRRR!!!! I am THIS CLOSE to coming over there and dealing with you myself!!!"
"Ooooh, really? So you do consider me a threat after all?"
"N-NO! GRRRRR! Do you seriously think you can beat ME?!" Ganon stomped the floor once more with an even heavier force, signalling again that she had sent him into a fit of rage.
Peach smirked at her infuriated foe. "Mmm-hmm! Pretty easily, to be honest. I think you're just a little weakling hiding behind that oh-so intimidating 'King of Darkness' title!" Goaded the princess whilst pointing to test his limits again. It was all part of the plan.
"ENOUGH OF THIS MOCKERY!! If it's a fight you want, then COME AT ME or GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!!!"
"Ahahaha! Awww, are you maaaad? Has the 'King of Darkness' lost his little temper?" Peach taunted her enemy, leaning forward with hands on her hips whilst keeping the annoying grin slapped across her face. The princess's plan was going along flawlessly!
"GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!" Ganondorf had his fists clenched and was shaking uncontrollably in his fury. Nobody had infuriated him to this extent before, not even Zelda.
"It's working...!" She said to herself in her head, realizing the effect her mindgames were having. "Haha! Frustrated, are you? It's cute that you're trying to intimidate me into running away, but I know that you're just a little weakling on the inside!" Peach could see the Phantom Knight being built up to extreme levels in her peripheral vision. Ganon was so fixated on her that he had no idea what was coming.
"Who knew that Peach would be so amazing at annoying people?!" Zelda thought to herself as her Phantom Knight had charged up to levels higher than she'd ever seen. Ganondorf was still yet to notice the monster behind him due to being far too fixated on Peach and her infuriating taunts.
"GRRRRRRRR!!!! I DEMAND YOU TO GET OUT OF MY CASTLE AT ONCE!!!" The King had never screamed so loud in his entire life, and that's saying something.
"Nuh-uh-uh!" The tauntress wiggled her right hand finger as she rested her left arm on her hip. She'd never been so sassy in her life, but she was willing to do anything to induce anger from her enemy. "I'm not going anywhere until you give me what I came for! You won't come and fight me because you're too much of a chicken, just as I suspected! Thanks for proving my point ;)" Ganon's bright red skin and furious facial expression made it clear to her that she was driving him up the wall. Could he really get any angrier than this?
"GRRRRRR! NO! IF YOU WANT MARIO BACK THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO COME AT ME!!!" His anger was evident in his tone. The plan had gone immaculately so far.
"So, you're still afraid to approach me? What's wrong, so-called King of Darkness? Surely a little princess wouldn't be much trouble for someone with such an intimidating title, would she?" The princess toyed with her enemy even further.
"YES, BUT- GRRRRRRAH!!! WHY IS IT ALWAYS YOU DAMN PRINCESSES WHO CAUSE ME SO MUCH TROUBLE?!?!" By this point, Ganon was in an uncontrollable state of rage, thinking irrationally and blurting out whatever came to mind.
"Ahahahaha! What?! Do you have some sort of phobia of princesses in dresses? Is that why you're so much of a chicken around me, hmm?" Questioned the princess as she held her dress on either side.
"SHUT UP! NO, I DO NOT-"
"Aww, are you getting anxious? Does my royal pink dress send shivers down your spine?" Peach mocked her foe as she twirled around once, holding her skirt. "Or maybe my long, blonde hair is what keeps you up at night?" She taunted as she ran her fingers though her golden hair.
"ENOUGH! You will NOT get away with humiliating me!!!"
"Oooooh, sooooo scary! Ahahaha!" Peach laughed tauntingly at her opponent's empty threat to enrage him even further. "Oh my, what an angry little facial expession you have there! Are you just gonna let the princess get on your nerves, hmm? How about you come and take out all that burning anger on me if you're so tough?!" The princess leaned forward and beckoned her foe to come at her, baiting him into letting out all of his built up frustration.
By this point, Ganon was showing every sign of rage you could possibly show. The clenched fists, the burning red skin, the violent shaking, the furious expression, the steam bursting out of his ears. The princess was fully inside his head.
Peach was genuinely baffled as to why he wouldn't attack. "Surely he would've given in right now if he was as mad as he looks, but could he really be afraid of me...?" She wondered to herself, but then an idea popped into her head, one that would easily make Ganon lose his cool and let his emotions run wild.
The princess continued to beckon her infuriated enemy. "Ahahaha! You're trying sooooo hard to resist the temptation! Congrats, I think most people would've exploded in their rage by now."
A hint of confusion was suddenly added to Ganon's neverending rage. Why was she complimenting him? He couldn't figure it out and was too furious to think straight.
"Ehehe, I guess you really are afraid of me after all! What a little wimp this so-called 'King of Darkness' is!" The princess goaded the king, adding even more fuel to the fire. "It's okay. If you're still hesitant, then I'll just have to annoy you into fighting! I'm not gonna leave this room until you've gotten rid of me~!"
The pretty pink princess grabbed hold of both sides of her flashy dress. She began dancing from side to side swishing her dress in a rhythm, singing "Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa!" tauntingly in the tune of "Ring Around the Rosies" to goad and infuriate the King, all with a smirk on her face to add a little extra salt. She was egging him on to attack her utilizing her mocking tone, cheeky little dance and the taunting grin slapped across her face. It was sure to bait an already enraged enemy into losing his cool and attacking.
Peach knew that this would be more than an effective way to taunt Ganon into exploding in his fury. Back when she decided to capture and lock up a group of unsuspecting Goombas and Koopas as revenge for Bowser capturing her so many times, she enjoyed irritating the little ones for all the trouble they'd caused her in the past. Her way of provoking them was to sing and dance in the most humiliating manner possible, singing "Lalalala Laaa-Laaa!" and bouncing back and forth holding her skirt to really rub in the fact that they let a princess trick and capture them so effortlessly. It burned their minds. Their infuriated facial expressions and impulsive outbursts was oh-so satisfying to watch.
Ganondorf started to shake even more violently and screamed in his inflamed state. The girl's infuriating song and dance was driving him up the wall, stomping the ground several times in an attempt to let out his frustration. The princess was being unbearably annoying, and she wasn't planning on stopping anytime soon.
"Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa!" She continued her taunting tune several times as she watched her target's aminosity build up. "Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! I'm not leaviiiiiiing! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa!" Her continuous antagonism was downright infuriating, so much so that the king began to scream even more uncontrollably as he tried to hold back. Peach capitalized on his emotional outburst. "Hahaha! Did I make you lose your little temper? Your screaming doesn't scare me in the slightest! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa...!" The tauntress continued her irritating dance as she ridiculed her foe. She could tell that he was insanely close to bursting.
"QUIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!" Ganondorf screamed so vehemently that it echoed in the room several times. The deadly Phantom Knight was still being charged to neverending strengths, but he had not even the slightest idea as to what was coming. He was being played like a fiddle by both princess who took advantage of the king's furious temper.
"Awwww, he's getting a little irritated over there, isn't he! Is a bit of provocation too much for him to handle? Are those fiery emotions getting in his way?" The princess continued to mock him even more whilst still dancing side to side holding her dress, knowing how exasperated that made him.
"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!"
"Why don't you come and make me be quiet yourself, hmm?" Challenged the princess, unfazed by his screams. "Or are you still too much of a chicken to approach me?" She took her left hand off her skirt and instead used it to beckon her enemy. "Come now, weakling. Don't be shy! Come at me! This is your chance to take out all of that frustration on the princess causing you so much hassle!"
Ganon had been pushed far beyond his boiling point and had completely lost any control he once had. Her taunts had driven him insane, and both princesses could tell. Zelda prepared to release her Phantom Knight as soon as she saw the slightest movement from him.
With the steam still bursting out of his ears, burning red skin and the most exasperated facial expression possible, Ganon let out one final scream.
"I'LL KILL YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The more than enraged king dashed at his fastest pace (Which still wasn't too fast) at the infuriating pest who called herself a princess.
"Now!" Commanded Zelda as she pointed at the enraged beast from behind. The menacing purple knight dashed at its target at a blindingly fast speed. The tip of its gigantic blade scooped Ganon up and sent him flying straight over Peach's head and into the wall, causing part of it to crumble and fall back to the ground along with the King.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!" Ganon screamed, this time in excrutiating pain rather than frustration. He lay on the floor with several bruises across his entire body.
"Gotchaaaa!" Taunted a feminine voice from above. Enraged yet tied to the ground by his pain, Ganon looked up to see Zelda waving down to him, taunting him with a giggle in the process. She then gracefully teleported down to the ground to stand alongside Peach.
"WHA- ZELDA?!?! HOW DID YOU-"
"Hey Ganon! I am soooooo sorry about that. Are you feeling okay?" Zelda spoke in a sarcastic tone to wind up her kidnapper.
"SHUT UP! NONE OF YOU WILL BE MAKING IT OUT OF HERE ALIVE!! I WILL GET MY REVENGE!!!" The King of Darkness desperately attempted to get up, but his legs were failing to cooperate due to the excrutiating pain they were in.
Both girls giggled simultaneously at how furious he was with them, taunting him into an even bigger rage.
"Awww, is little Ganon getting frustrated again? I completely understand. Losing to a few princesses must be infuriating!" Commented Peach to goad him further.
"Haha! Poor Ganon is so mad that he's resorting to death threats! I bet you're too much of a chicken to carry them out, though!" Added Zelda. The two princess were inducing maximum salt from their common enemy.
"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!" The king screamed as his legs eventually started to gain some strength.
"He's losing his temperrrrrrr~!" Both princesses taunted simultaneously in their condescending tones, giggling about it afterwards.
Seeing as he was about to recover, both of the princesses knew that they needed to act fast. Zelda leaned into Peach to whisper into her ear, "I'll try and find a way to free Mario. You distract Ganon for me, okay? Remember that he's very slow - you should be able to outrun him."
"Okay, got it!" Replied Peach. Just before he'd managed to stand up craving for revenge, Peach grabbed ahold or her rose pink dress on both sides and began to bounce from side to side again, singing her oh-so infuriating "Lalalala Laaa-Laaa!" over and over again. She thought it'd be a surefire way to grab his attention and take his eyes off Zelda for a moment by filling him with rage.
"SHUT UUUUUUUUUP!!!" Ganon screamed in an emotional outburst as he rose up and began to sprint at the pink princess, hungry for revenge... well, sprint would be a severe overstatement. Due to the horrible conditions the king's legs were in, his "sprint" was so unbelievably slow that Peach could outrun him just by walking! Even so, he was driven by emotion, far too enraged to stay idle and give time for his wounds to heal.
Meanwhile, Zelda dashed away to the cage Mario was stuck in and attempted to think of a way to set him free. Mario had been speechless this entire time in a state of shock and confusion. He couldn't understand this strategy the girls were going for, or how it was working so effectively. "Don't worry, Mario. I'll think up a way to set you free." The Hylian Princess reassured the prisoner with a bright smile on her face, calming his worries a little.
"Ahahaha! Is that all you can do?" Peach tantalized the King with her presence as she walked backwards clockwise around the edges of the room. She faced Ganon with a taunting smirk on her face, trying to squeeze every last speck of anger out of her enemy to distract him from Zelda.
Ganon continued to scream in his infuriated state with tomato red skin as he limped his way over to the girl, but it was no use. She could outrun him simply by walking.
Ganon's screaming was disrupting Zelda's line of thinking, which was aggravating. First, she tried to break a hole in the cage's metal bars using her Dins Fire spell, where she commanded a majestic ball of fire across the air which expoded upon impact. She had to try and make the explosion as quiet as possible not to alert Ganon, so that unfortunately meant that she had to limit its power. Her spell had no effect on the rock hard bars. "Hmmm... can you see anything on the inside that you think we may be able to use?" Asked the princess to the inmate. Mario desperately looked around in response, but all he could really find was dust and a bit of moss on the bars. He shook his head in disappointment. "It's okay..." she replied, trying to keep her friend from worrying too much, but she was getting a little worried herself.
The pretty princess then observed the lock on the cage, and she noticed something unusual. This wasn't any old lock. The one used specifically for this cage had a lock in the shape of a star. Seeing it triggered a flashback to the last time she was captured, and she remembered Ganondorf using a star shaped key to bust open the cage. "Aha!" She exclaimed in triumph. "Okay, I know exactly what the key to this cage looks like. If I were to guess, he's probably keeping that key iiiiin..." the princess turned her head to the King being mercilessly mocked by her fellow princess. "She's surely doing a good job..." Zelda thought to herself, seeing as he was still screaming endlessly into the echoic room.
The two of them were at about a 8 O'Clock position from Zelda. Peach was keeping his attention on her really well. "Come oooooon! Ahahaha!" The pink princess beckoned her foe with both hands as she gently walked backwards at his pace. Her infuriating giggle drove him into an even more enraged state.
Zelda observed Ganon closely. "Now where would that key be..." She quietly thought to herself allowed, resting her finger on her chin in a sort of thinking pose. The room was gigantic and the two of them were quite far away, so she tiptoed a little closer to her kidnapper from behind. About 5 or 6 meters away from the beast, she noticed a bright yellow, star shaped object sticking out from the right pocket of his pants. "There you are!" She spoke in her head.
Even despite Ganon's severely weakened legs, Zelda knew that Ganon's arms were still intact and could provide a deadly punch. Trying to slyly swipe the key from him whilst he was still standing could end terribly for her.
Luckily, this princess was a sharp one. Thinking on the fly, she quickly devised a plan in her mind that, if carried out correctly, would result in taking the key unscathed as well as Ganon's inevitable defeat.
Zelda spoke to her follow blonde princess using her telepathic powers. Luckily, Peach was already aware that she had such a power, so she wouldn't be startled or confused by it. It was the only way to communicate with Peach without attracting Ganon's attention.
The Hylian Princess closed her eyes and focused intently to forward a message into Peach's mind. "Okay, I've thought of a plan. I need you to find a way of slipping Ganon off his feet for just a few seconds. Then, once he's on the floor, make sure his eyes are directly on you. Distract him as much as you possibly can, because I'm then going to sneak behind him and snatch the key out of his pocket. If he notices me, a single punch from him can be deadly, so it's important that I remain undetected. Once I've got the keys, skip to the exit and I'll take it from there, okay?"
Peach was startled by the sudden message. Despite being cognizant of Zelda's incredible power, she'd never experienced it before. However, she didn't let it show too much, and continued to distract Ganon whilst receiving the message. She gave a subtle nod to signal to Zelda that she understood, without raising the king's suspicions.
Peach skipped a gleefully a little further away from her sluggish foe to give herself some space. She then spun back around and started to taunt him with her humiliating song, "Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa!", swishing her dress side to side once again, egging him on to attack. The princess's mockery was working as his screams got angrier and his fists became clenched again and he put as much effort as he possibly could into his limp. The princess drew in the dark beast closer and closer towards her until she was just outside of his arm's length. "Now's my chance!" She thought to herself. Quickly letting go of her skirt, she dashed to the left of her opponent out of the blue before he could even react and swept him right off his feet using her leg.
Ganondorf shouted in pain and anger simultaneously as he came crashing down to the ground. Meanwhile, Zelda sneaked up behind her target unsuspectingly. Peach walked back in front him and continued to taunt her foe as he lay on the ground front first in excrutiating pain. "Hahaha! Didn't expect that, did you? How could you let a little princess overpower you so effortlessly?"
Ganon's growls began to rev up again, so Peach capitalized to keep him fixated on her. "Looks like he's getting maaaaad again! Is the idea of losing to a princess burning your mind?" Meanwhile, she could see Zelda tip toeing her way up and behind the king in her peripheral vision. She was in position, and now all she had to do was take the key as subtly as possible. "I can tell you're hungry for revenge by that furious facial expression, hehe! Come and get it, Ganon! I know you want tooooooo~!" Peach spoke in the most taunting manner ever, beckoning her enemy with both hands as she leaned forward with an infuriating smile on her face, looking down at her floored opponent.
In the midst of a massive scream, Zelda knew that now was the perfect opportunity to swipe. She hastily crouched down, finessed the shining key from his pocket and bounced backwards to avoid any damage. Ganon felt her take it, but due to his shock and the princess's quick maneuvers he was far too slow to react with a punch. He'd completely forgotten about Zelda's presence!
The evil king turned his head to the right and desperately attempted to punch the princess as he was still floored, but she had already bounced out of his reach. "Thank youuuuuu!!!" Zelda called out sarcastically as she dangled the key outside of his reach, inducing maximum rage from her enemy before skipping away to free Mario.
Peach skipped around all of the chaos and wait at the entrance. Meanwhile, Zelda turned the key of the cage and set Mario free from The King's Clutches. "Thank-a you so much!" He said to show his gratitude for Zelda. She smiled in response. "You're welc-" but before she could finish her sentence, Mario had already dashed off to give Peach the biggest, most love filled hug she'd ever received. "Awww, how cute..." Zelda thought out loud to herself in a soft voice. She almost wanted to join them. However, even though they had completed their mission of rescuing Mario, she had just one last thing to do with Ganondorf, just to make sure that he wouldn't come for any of them again.
Ganon was at about 9 O'Clock from the cage towards the circular walls, whilst Zelda stood just in front of the cage's door. The King was far past being exasperated at this point and couldn't hold in any of his anger. As he struggled to stand back on his feet again, the princess taunted him some more, knowing that he wouldn't be able to control himself in this enraged state.
"Awww, did we wiiiiin? Haha! Getting tricked by a few princesses has really riled you up, hasn't it?" Zelda taunted her enemy with her right hand on her hip, irritating him with her cockiness. Her other hand was stretched out a little with an open palm, secretly charging up another Phantom Knight outside of the king's vision to dash into about where she was positioned. All she had to do was bait her unsuspecting enemy into falling for her trap...
Ganon was far too clouded by anger and frustration to even begin to question that suspicious hand. "Zelda!!!! I WILL CRUSH YOU WITH MY BARE HANDS!!! YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH HUMILIATING ME AND- SABOTAGING MY PLANS!!"
"Ahaha! Oooh, the thought of sweet revenge is taunting you, isn't it?" The princess continued, unfazed by his threats. "Come on, then. How about you come and prove that you can crush me, hmm?" She took the hand off her hip and instead used it to beckon her enemy, tempting him to come at her.
"GRRRRRRRAH!!!" The King screamed as he limped over to the tauntress, falling for her bait to no one's surprise. Ganon could still barely move with his legs in an even more broken state. Peach had ruined them just as they were about to recover.
"Why so slow? Come ooooon, don't be shy! Now's not the time to hesitate if you're craving for that sweet revenge ;)" Zelda winked at her opponent to add even more fuel to the fire.
"I'M... NOT SCARED, YOU IDIOT!!" Screamed Ganondorf as he inched closer to the enemy, his pain impairing his speech.
"Mmm-hmm! I'm sure that explains the stutter in your voice just now, doesn't it?" Zelda toyed with her opponent since she loved to get a rise out of him.
"GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!" He screamed in an even angrier tone, edging closer and closer to the princess.
"Ahaha! Looks like your emotions are starting to boil over...!" She spoke tauntingly.
"I... WILL... KILL YOUUUUU!!!" Screamed Ganon, only about 2 meters away from the infuriatingly smug princess.
"No you woooooon't~!" Challenged Zelda in an annoying tone, fueling him with a burning desire to prove her wrong.
Ganon eventually snapped. Once Zelda realized that she was in his arm's reach, she quickly bounced backwards and demanded the Phantom Knight to unleash it's power. "Now!" She shouted as the king's deadly punch whiffed, failing to ruin her pretty face nor her elegant dress.
The menacing knight caught the King of Darkness completely off guard and bashed him directly into the cage he kept Mario in! Before he had a chance to even think or react, Zelda swiftly locked it shut and tucked the key securely into her dress pocket.
"Haha! You let a princess trick you again?! When will you stop falling for my little traps?" The cunning Hylian Princess rubbed her victory all in his face to boil his blood.
After realizing the trap that he'd just walked into, Ganon felt a gigantic mix of emotions, from confusion, to anxiety, and predominantly burning rage. "WHA- GRRRRRRRRR!!!! I DEMAND YOU TO LET ME OUT THIS INSTANT!!!"
"And what if I don't? What are you gonna do about it, hmmmm? Throw a temper tantrum in your little cage?"
"UGHHHHHHHHH!!!" Ganon's emotions were getting stronger with the princess's mockery
"That's right, nothing! I'll giggle and mock you all I want, and there's nothing you can do about it! Except get maaaad, of course!"
"THIS IS NOT THE END!!! I AM GOING TO CRUSH YOU INTO PIECES AND MAKE YOU PAY FOR THIS!!!!!!"
The agitating princess chuckled as she walked a little closer to the cage. "Hehe! If you insist. Come ooooon! Crush me! I'd like to see you try now ;)" She poked her head out just inches away from her infuriated opponent, enticing him to attack with a smirk on her face.
Ganon violently bashed his fist against the metal bars in desperation, but it was no use. His hand just ended up in severe pain from bashing against the bar. He continued to shout in anger.
"Ouch, that looked like it hurt! Poor thing." Zelda mocked her opponent. "It must be frustrating living in there, mustn't it?" Zelda took the key out of her pocket and dangled it right outside of the metal bars. "It's a shame you don't have this to break yourself out!"
Taunting Ganon with the keys had inflamed him more than anything else, and that's saying a LOT. "YOU GIVE THAT BACK NOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!" He screamed.
"Nah, I'd rather keep them to myself. Watching you lose your cool really brightens up my day!" Zelda giggled at his visible frustration with her.
"Hahahaha! Look at how mad he's getting!" Peach and giggled uncontrollably at Ganon's defeat, and Mario later joined her. She noticed Zelda toying with him a little more and decided to join in on the fun. The pink princess skipped over to her enemy and called out to him. "Hey, Ganon!"
"WHAT?!?!?!"
"Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa...!" Peach grabbed her dress, danced back and forth and sang that oh-so humiliating tune that she knew worked him up to uncontrollable levels of rage.
Ganon sat there, convulsing violently, pure red skin across his face, dangerously clenched fists, and a terrifyingly salty facial expression. It was almost as if he was so mad that he couldn't even find the energy to let it all out. Zelda's giggling on the side definitely wasn't helping either.
"Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa!" She continued to swing and sway her body around to the sound of her taunting tune, seeing as it was enraging her enemy to levels she'd never seen before.
"Keep it going, he looks like a burning volcano ready to erupt any second now..." Zelda whispered to her friend as she observed the heavy mindgames going on between the two. The princesses were just having fun playing with their food at this point to get back at him for all the trouble he'd caused, whilst Ganon's state of mind was the polar opposite being on the receiving end of it all.
Zelda started to add her own bit of salt to the emotional wound, eager to see him explode. She took out the key once again and dangled it tauntingly as she stood alongside Peach. The princess was unable to contain her laughter, seeing how enraged he was getting, so she used her uncontrollable giggles as a weapon to taunt Ganon into exploding.
With the two princesses standing right before him, taunting him mercilessly whilst he was already in an uncontrollably inflamed state, knowing that there was nothing he could do to stop them in this little cage, Ganon was finally about unleash his fury.
"Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalala Laaa-Laaa! Lalalal-"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...!!!!" The beast let out a near deafening scream that could be heard across the entirety of Hyrule. The princesses watched in amusement at the destruction they'd caused to their common enemy, and waited patiently for him to finish. The scream lasted for an entire minute.
"Seems like you've lost the psychological war, Ganon, to 2 little princesses! All of that sizzling anger has finally been released now that you've cracked." Zelda chuckled at her enemy one last time. She could tell that he was about to scream a second time. "Bye bye!!! And remember, don't mess with a princess ;)" she winked at her completely outsmarted kidnapper, stuck in her own cage, before skipping out of the door she once entered.
Peach followed her and Mario shortly after, but not before sending one last cheeky taunt to get his blood boiling. Just before exiting, she turned around and sang her song once last time - "Lalalala Laaa-Laaa!"
And that's all it took to bait him into exploding in another ferocious rage, even longer and possibly even louder than the first. Peach giggled and blew him a kiss just before leaving.
"Do you think he'll be okay?" Asked Peach whilst trying to contain her laugher.
"Let's hope not!" Replied Zelda. "Even if he finds his way out of that cage somehow, I don't think he'll be kidnapping any of us anytime soon. It'll just lead to more of his neverending frustration."
"Hehe! That's true. That was honestly a really fun experience! Being able to toy with him and seeing him so mad and frustrated by it was the best revenge I could ever ask for." Peach continued as the three of them began to venture down the neverending stairs.
"Peach... Zelda... thank-a you so much! I did not think-a you would come to my rescue!"
"Awww, Mario, I'm so happy so see you again!" The two of them hugged it out. "And you're very welcome! Anything to make you happy!" Peach continued. Funnily enough, they could still hear Ganon's screaming.
"Do you guys want to organize something similar to this, but to carry out on Bowser? I think he's also the type to get frustrated quickly. It'll probably dissuade him from capturing you again!"
"Yes! Please Zelda, we have to! Not only will it stop all the chaos he causes, but it'll be really funny watching him lose his cool, haha!" Peach replied enthusiastically.
Seeing her friend so happy brought a smile to Zelda's face. "Ahahahahaha! Well, we can worry about doing that later. For now, would you two like something to eat? I'm sure we'll be needing it by the end of this endless staircase, and I know a great place in town!"
"Yes!" Peach and Mario shouted simultaneously, leading to the three of them bursting into laughter. They all trodded down the stairs gleefully, laughing and playing with each other out of excitement and anticipation for their long awaited food.
