Greetings from SeekerMeeker,

Hello, I am SeekerMeeker, an amateur writer still in progress of writing. However, I have had my own share of both good and bad experiences with writing. For one thing, I have been used to "Girls und Panzer," a Japanese show about girls driving tanks for sport.

I am not joking.

Yes, you read that right: Japan loves some of the craziest ideas. And that leads to this...

So, I have been obsessed with Gravity Falls for quite a while, and I decide that I have to do this.

I have to write a fanfic for Gravity Falls.

I do not own any characters of Gravity Falls, just my own take on them.

I wish Alex Hirsch and his friends and allies well in their journey beyond the Gravity Falls.

;)

Chapter 1: Twins and Town

"Oh come on!" two teenagers moaned, as their bus left.

They were next to a lone bus stop, which was made of rusted steel bars, its glasses broken and scratched by the elements (and vandals). Around them, the lands were desolate, which was obvious for a barren desert filled with sandy valleys, mesas, buttes, and other icons of the desert. Dry shrubs and lonely cacti dotted the lands, while tumbleweeds rolled by lazily.

"Of all the places!" the teenage boy groaned. "Man, I thought our parents will let go back there for the summer!"

"I am sorry," the teenage girl sighed. "I shouldn't have told them about our uncles being gone for the summer."

"No-no," the boy apologized. "It was my fault for telling them that the Mystery Shack had a new owner."

"And they only allow us back there," the girl groaned. "If Grunkle Stan was back."

Both teens sighed in disbelief, and then winced.

"Augh," the boy moaned, shielding himself from the sun. "Oregon sure was cooler than this!"

"Hey it's warmer though!" the girl replied with a big grin, which showed shiny braces. "At least I can get a suntan!"

"Don't get burned," the boy sighed, but smiled. They were still their same old selves. Ever since they left Gravity Falls, they had changed a lot, well, on the outside. They had always wanted to go back to Gravity Falls, but their parents could not take them during the last summer. Now, their parents decided to send them to a totally different town.

"Ooh!" the girl suddenly burst out, clapping with her hands. "How about we get our introductions ready?"

The boy made a face palm.

"We're not applying for a job," the boy said. "We're here to spend the summer, this time with a friend of our parents."

"Still!" the girl spoke, as she rummaged through her bags. "We want to give the best first impression possible!"

"Don't touch my bags though," the boy said nonchalantly, although he was watching her every move.

Actually, the two had seven bags together; the boy had a backpack with a bag on each hand, while the girl had her own three, plus a luggage. The boys' bags were plain, with the backpack being brown with a blue sleeping bag on top. On his left hand was a large, brown suitcase, while on his right was a cylindrical bag with the word "PIEDMONT" pasted onto it. The girls' bags were colorful, with her backpack being light blue with golden stars all around. On her left hand was a round bag that looked like a money bag, except composed of knitted threads with a variety of colors splashed unto it. On her right hand was a large green bag covered in stars, hearts, and a thumbs-up hand with a rainbow instead of an arm. Her luggage was purple with pink polka dots all over it.

"There!" she declared, taking out two large frames, one blue and the other pink. Both held a piece of paper, each showing a complete picture of each, plus their profile characteristics.

"Here is yours!" the girl spoke, handing him the blue frame. "And this is mine!"

"Let's get to a nearby shade," the boy said. "It's getting hot here."

"Agreed!" the girl declared, as the two walked on a sandy road, the only sandy road that led from the bus stop to a nearby series of cliffs. In only a few minutes, the two sighed in relief, as the high cliffs shielded them from the scorching heat.

"Alright!" the girl declared. "It's intro time! Dipper, start yours!"

The boy rolled his eyes, but smiled. He then perused the frame's profile, which was really a rough draft plus a picture of himself:

DIPPER PINES

Full Name: Mason Pines

Nickname: Dipper

Height: 172 cm

Sex: Male (I want to be manly)

Date of Birth: August 31, 1999

Age: 15

Hair: Brown

Eye: Brown

Likes: Solving mysteries; some pop and rock bands (I am not going to say which ones, Mabel)

Hates: Being underestimated; being called adorable (I really hate this...)

Hopes: To graduate from high school with a high GPA, get accepted into a good college, and start my own ghost hunting show (No Mabel, that is good enough. You want me to shorten it. Nope, this is good enough)

Hello, it is I, Dipper Pines. I have short, messy brown hair with my favorite hat, this time a totally blue hat similar to my original one back in Gravity Falls, Oregon. It has a single golden star with equally golden wings on it. My other hat, the one that I got from a friend named Wendy Corduroy, is back at home, because I intended to bring it to Gravity Falls. Unfortunately, our parents dropped a bombshell, telling us that we are being sent to a friend's house in some town in Arizona. Hence, in order to ensure that it won't be stolen, I left it at home.

(Mabel, I know that I have been talking about the hat stuff. I have more things other than the hat topic.)

I like to wear my redish-orange T-shirt, grayish-blue shorts (now that I am taller), white socks with a red stripe, black sneakers, and my favorite digital wristwatch, a new model that can do a lot of stuff.

And how I got my name? I have a birthmark shaped like the Big Dipper constellation, which I no longer hide. Wait, I hide it, because too many girls have been asking me. I consider myself smart, intellectual, curious, and adventurous.

"And that's it," he concluded.

Mabel, the twin girl, yawned.

"You wrote a lot!" she responded.

"You wanted it," Dipper said.

"OK!" she stretched, smiled big, and read hers aloud:

MABEL PINES

Full Name: Same!

Nickname: Maple; Maggie; Mabelton; Lady M (I have more, but you insist on only a few)

Height: 172 cm (Haha! I am as tall as you! Wait, am I a little too tall?!)

Sex: Female (Sexy lady! Yes, I want to be one!)

Date of Birth: August 31, 1999

Age: GLORIOUS FIFTEEN!

Hair: Brown (Boring)

Eye: Brown (Boring again)

Likes: Sweaters; anything cute or loving or BOTH!

Hates: Seeing my family in danger; losing my cuteness

Hopes: To become the President of the United States of AMERICAAAAAAA!

GOOD DAY! I am Mabel Pines! I have very long, smooth hair (down to my sweet butts!), which curls towards the bottom like a waterfall! I have soft, round, blushing cheeks with silver-colored braces in my sparkling white teeth! Yes, I am ready to date a boy! I love to make and wear all kinds of sweaters, most knitted by me! In general, I like to wear a short-sleeve pink undershirt (Can't I just call it SHORTY PINK?)...I hate sounding so formal! OK-OK, Dipper. Moving on! I love wearing my loose purple pencil skirt, black ballerina flats, thigh-high white socks (I heard from my Japanese friends, saying that this makes me look cuter), and my pink headband.

The sweater I like to wear the most is a very pink sweater with a shooting star on it!

Like Dipper, I was shocked beyond thought when Daddy and Mommy told us that we're being sent to another town! Oh, the drama!

Anyway.

At least a new town means NEW BOYS!

(Yes, Dipper, I want to make another summer romance again!)

My friends love to give me all kinds of nicknames, which Dipper tells me to not write down. I have over 72 of them! I consider myself...I guess I am BOUNCY, HYPERACTIVE, SILLY, and A FREE SPIRIT!

Dipper stared at her, his face betraying his annoyance. Mabel made a face, but smiled back.

"I had to edit your profile at least three times," Dipper groaned. "Every time, I had to keep you on track!"

"But I had fun!" Mabel said with a smile. "Alright, I think this desert heat is making me...weird or something?"

"Oh come on," Dipper groaned. "The word 'weird' is giving me the chills."

Both of them shivered.

"Oh," both said together.

They still remembered the drama two years ago, when Gravity Falls was struck by one of the strangest events ever, so bizarre that they still remembered it: the Weirdmageddon. Now, it had been two years, and they still had vivid memories of that incident.

"Let's just go and find the town," Dipper admitted.

"I agree," Mabel spoke, and the two moved on, while trying to avoid the desert sun.

Both walked on, staying in the shade of the cliffs as much as possible. However, even in the shade, the scorching sun strained their pale skins, causing them to wince.

"Man!" Dipper groaned. "Even when the sunscreen on, it's still hot!"

"It will be a nice day for a suntan," Mabel replied with a smile. "Can't wait to woo boys!"

"Do boys like darker or whiter skin?" Dipper asked.

"I am not sure," Mabel said with a shrug. "Some of my friends say that whitening creams are the rage, while others insist that the tanning salons are the cool thing."

"Try one or the other," Dipper groaned.

The two walked on, now as silent as the surroundings. The rays of the scorching sun were now starting to affect them; Dipper stopped talking, while Mabel started to pant.

"This sun is hurting me!" Dipper panted.

"But its' good exercise!" Mabel replied, keeping up her optimistic spirit. "At least we're alive and well, not like in the Death Valley."

"Don't mention that place!" Dipper moaned. He remembered an embarrassing time, when he had to "pee-pee" in the middle of the Death Valley National Park last year (as a concession from his parents for not going to Gravity Falls). After only a few seconds of his "business," he came back covered in sweat and with a slightly darkened skin. He hated that experience ever since.

"At least it's lonely here," Dipper noted with another pant. "Remember that boy Antonio?"

"Augh!" Mabel roared with disgust. She remembered an embarrassing moment, when she got into a relationship with a boy named Antonio Perez. He was so smooth and nice towards her, until she discovered that he was already in a relationship with a girl named Rosa. Plus, she discovered that Antonio had a reputation for leaving girls easily; before Rosa, he dated another girl named Margo Gru. After that, she immediately left him, in order to avoid breaking her own heart.

"I guess a desert is better than a bad boy," Mabel admitted.

"And I guess this is a little better than the Death Valley," Dipper added.

They then stopped talking, as they were starting to feel a little tired. The sun's unforgiving rays continued to bombard them, draining what little energy they already had. After what felt like miles, they saw it.

"There it is!" Mabel shouted, startling Dipper.

Dipper looked up. The road soon winded uphill, and met up with another covered in asphalt, the type used by cars. Between the dirty road and the asphalt road was a single, steel billboard with a shiny appearance, glittering in the sun:

WELCOME TO GROOM FALLS, ARIZONA

SISTER TOWN TO GRAVITY FALLS, OREGON

"What a lame name," Mabel noted.

"Agreed," Dipper admitted, as they struggled to move towards the shade. After what felt like minutes, they finally got into the shade made by the giant sign, and sat down.

"Wow!" both moaned happily, glad to be safe from the sun.

"I am NOT going in the sun for a while!" Dipper groaned.

"But it's fun with a tan!" Mabel declared. "And look...aw, I have no tan."

"Either be fair in skin or be well-tanned," Dipper said, panting as he lied down on the dry sands. "At least we're safe. So..."

He looked up at the billboard again, reading each word.

"Hey Mabel," he spoke.

"Yeah?"

"According to the sign," he said. "It says that we're in Groom Falls, Arizona, right?"

"Right," Mabel answered. "According to Daddy and Mommy, they have a friend, not really related to us, who lives here. He says that he's willing to let us live there over the summer."

"But it says that Groom Falls is 'sister town' to Gravity Falls," Dipper noted. "Hmm, what does that mean?"

"Does that mean that this town is just like Gravity Falls?" Mabel asked, her eyes sparkling.

"I don't think so," Dipper answered, causing his twin to deflate. "Sorry, but not sorry about this town. This NOT Gravity Falls, though. No Wendy, no Soos, no Grunkle Stan, no Uncle Ford, no Candy, no Grenda, no...Pacifica."

Mabel eyed him, a smile slowly forming on her face.

"Never mind!" Dipper shouted, startling her and himself. "Sorry."

"Now that you mention it," Mabel said. "This town does feel a little similar to Gravity Falls: small and mysterious. Even our parents are unsure about this. All they know is that they have a friend who knows us. They admit that this town feels 'deserted' or something."

"I guess they're afraid of us becoming rebels," Mabel said.

"Maybe so," Dipper said.

They were both sort of right. They grew very fast in their first two years since Gravity Falls, scaring their parents a little. Plus, they were starting to act more like adults, such as being willing to stop a fight. Fortunately, neither got in trouble, although they were so close many times. Hence, their parents wanted them to learn about to "remain as teens."

"An odd request," Dipper said. "I would have thought that they would send us to someone who will discipline us. Instead, they sent us to someone who is supposed to be laid-back."

"What can they do?" Mabel asked rhetorically. "Teens are teens, after all."

Dipper then looked up at the sign, then blinked.

"Mabel," he bluntly spoke.

"Yeah?" she asked.

"Look up."

She did. On the sign was the same billboard, with the words emblazoned onto it:

WELCOME TO GROOM FALLS, ARIZONA

WHERE YOUR WILDEST IMAGINATIONS COME TRUE!

SISTER TOWN TO GRAVITY FALLS, OREGON

"The true center of the supernatural?" Mabel asked. "Wait, that was not there."

"A mystery," Dipper said, eyeing the billboard. He had that expression, the expression of great admiration, curiosity, and a desire, an insatiable desire to solve mysteries. Even back in his hometown, he even helped the police a few times, sometimes solving some cases better than they did! Unfortunately, since he was not a professional, he got little recognition. Still, some of the police officers did sit down with him, admitting that had it not been for the laws, they would have treated him better. Fortunately, Dipper was the kind who was willing to let go.

"I guess my experiences with Gravity Falls shaped me," Dipper said. "Originally, I wanted attention; now, I just want to be normal and healthy."

"Why not exercise with me?" Mabel asked, her eyes sparkling.

"No," Dipper answered. "Your training regime is ridiculous."

"Oh come on!"

"Wait-wait," Dipper said with a sigh. "But the sign did not say that before. Huh, I wonder if this town is indeed similar to Gravity Falls."

"If so," Mabel spoke. "Then we'll fight the fight and walk the walk together!"

Dipper smiled.

"Awkward sibling hug?" he asked.

"Awkward sibling hug," she replied, and the two hugged.

"Tap-tap," the two repeated, as they patted each other with their own hands.

"Let's go," Dipper said, getting his bags.

The two then continued their journey, as they jumped from shade to shade, as the sun continued to attack them with her dangerous rays.

"So," Dipper said. "What do you think about the sign saying about it being a sister town to Gravity Falls. Does that mean something?"

"I think that it's related to Gravity Falls?" Mabel suggested, then her eyes sparkled "Oooh! Then I hope that it's just like Gravity Falls! I hope to see Mermando or someone like my ex-boyfriends!

"I don't think so," Dipper said. "But I do have a feeling..."

Suddenly, he looked back. Mabel looked at the direction where he was looking.

Dry shrubs, lonely cacti, and more tumbleweeds dotted the landscape of sands, stone, and more sands.

"You OK?" Mabel finally asked.

Dipper looked a little tense, a single sweat on his forehead. His birthmark was partially visible.

"Nothing," Dipper said, and the two walked on. Mabel just shrugged and followed, as the two followed the only trail towards the town.

"Meow."

Dipper looked back casually.

"What Mabel?" he asked. The meow sound did not come from a cat; it came from her.

This time, Mabel looked back, in the same direction as Dipper did. It was the same landscape as before, and Mabel stared at it, as if she was a rabbit trying to look out for a fox.

"Mabel?" Dipper asked. He noticed her sweating a little.

"No-nothing," Mabel stammered.

"OK," Dipper said, clearing his throat. "I think that we'll both just be honest with each other. I suspected that something was behind me. You too?"

She nodded.

"I guess it's just a cougar," Dipper remarked. "That wants to go after us."

"Or you Dipper," Mabel teased him.

The two then laughed. Ever since they started to become teens, they started to talk some innuendo. Their parents threatened once to ground them, but realized that they were well-behaved enough. In fact, they were among the very few teens who never experienced being grounded before.

"Well then!" Dipper said. "At least we're both tall enough to face dangers more, right?"

He was right. Ever since they went back to school, they experienced quite a growth spurt. Dipper finally felt better, since he was now taller than an average boy of his age. Mabel, however, was surprisingly tall for her age, the same height as Dipper. Now, Dipper felt normal, while Mabel felt weird.

"But what's behind us?" Mabel asked.

The two looked back. They only saw dry shrubs, lonely cacti, and numerous cliffs of the mesas and other features of the American desert. This time, they saw a few songbirds chirping, a vulture flying above, and a snake slithering in the sands.

Other than that, it was the same.

"Let's just go," Dipper said, and the two went together, this time walking at a brisk pace.

Behind a particularly large, very thick bush, something watched the two humans walk by, passing the sign and moving on towards the town.

"Hmm," it spoke with a deep, booming voice. "I think that they are the ones."

It then reached down, struggling as its huge body tried to avoid touching what looked like a walkie-talkie on the ground. Its reptilian hand, which had only two claws, managed to press a single button on it.

"Hey T!" a raspy voice blared through it. "Any new visitors?"

"I see two," the monster grunted. "I think that they are ones."

"What?!" the voice hiccuped. "Wait-wait! That's the first time I've heard in two years! Are you sure?"

"I can smell them," it replied. "They smell like the type who can save the world."

"You mean our town," the voice remarked. "Which sounds weird, given that the town is just a ghost town."

"No-no," the monster spoke. "Our town is supposed to be a lot more prosperous than this. However, it is the sister town to Gravity Falls, which is home to a wide variety of phenomena. Unfortunately, it had been ruled by those with...weird tastes."

"And our town's leaders," the voice said with a sigh. "Just happened to realize that the two were similar enough, so we're twinned with them."

"And we are a LOT different than the twinning suggests," the monster admitted. "And Utah, please call me Tracy, not T. I hate nicknames."

"I heard that Gravity Falls has dinosaurs," Utah said. "But I heard that they are not as smart as we are here."

"Unfortunately not," said Tracy. "But I also heard that they had heroes who saved it from before."

"How did you find out?" Utah replied with a gasp.

"A few pterosaurs migrate from here to Gravity Falls," Tracy said. "Some of them returned, complaining about a weird wall-thing that covered the town. Suddenly, it was gone, and the pterosaurs watched and eventually learned about the ordeal."

"You are such a reliable dino," said Utah. "And quite wise for a Tyrannosaurus rex."

"I do what I can," Tracy said. "And now, let them adjust to this town. If they are the heroes in the prophecy here, then I am sure that things will get...both interesting and weird."

"Weird is our motto here," Utah said. "Let me guess: WELCOME TO GROOM FALLS, WHERE YOUR WILDEST IMAGINATIONS COME TRUE!"

Tracy rolled her eyes, but made a small laugh.

"Let them come," Tracy said, as she picked up the device, and slowly followed the twins. "They're welcome here, if they are heroes."

While the dinosaur watched them walk, another figure watched, this time from behind a boulder. Shielded by a large shade, cast by a high cliff, the figure watched both the twins walking, and the dinosaur stalking.

The figure smiled, then reached out its right hand. It was a humanoid hand, with seven fingers and a little tanned. However, the wrist was covered in six ribbons, each with a different color: red, cyan, magenta, green, blue, and yellow.

The tip of the hand's index finger suddenly glowed.

"Welcome to Groom Falls," the figure spoke in an even deeper, more serene voice. "I have plans for you two. And a third to come later."

Alright, this is my first attempt at a Gravity Falls fanfic.

And yes, this is my own story, so I cannot emulate Alex Hirsch's great sense of humor or trolling power (Gravity Falls fans, you know what I mean). However, I will honor as close as possible to how our heroic twins will behave. I am NOT going to deviate dramatically, as some fanfics like to do.

So thank you, and...I am not going to add a cryptogram. If anyone knows how to do that, I am open.

Thank you so much, and...

WELCOME TO GROOM FALLS.
