Paul's POV
The wind whips past me as I charge through the woods, the leeches won't get away. I can sense Jake and two new wolves running behind me, but they're no match for me. Just as I reach them, they jump up onto a boulder that I can't reach, effectively dodging my bites. The Cullens appear, the leader seems to recognize these idiots, that's my cue to leave. Nodding to Jake, I head back toward the rez, ready for a shower and some food.
Everyone to the house. Now.
Sam's alpha order sends my thoughts of water and food right out of my head. He didn't sound worried, hopefully there isn't any trouble, I'm starving.
Oh poor Pauly, you must be so hungryyyy, Leah's voice rings out in my head.
Shut it Leah, I'm not in the mood for you.
I don't hear anything else, so I continue my run in peace. After phasing out, I pull my cutoffs on and head inside, just behind Leah. It seems we're the last ones, everyone's head turned to Sam, waiting.
"Okay, so I've called you all here, because Emily and I have some news," he clears his throat, "In two weeks, some friends of Emily's, Ronnie and Rick, are going to be moving in with us. They're mom left about six months ago and she just never came back, Emily's grandma found out they were living alone, they had jobs to pay the bills and to eat, but they're just teenagers, they need a home. So we're going to open our home to them, I know that it might make things difficult for us, but these kids are like Emily's family so we're gonna do whatever we can." As soon as he stops speaking words start flying from everyone's mouths. Some are protesting, Leah, others are excited, Seth and the pups, and the rest are just confused. I don't really care, I don't have to like these guys, I don't even have to talk to them, I just have to keep our secret.
I raise my voice loud to be heard over everyone, "Why do you guys even care so much? Yeah this will make keeping our secret a little hard, but neither of these guys are gonna affect any of us directly, they need help, so why shouldn't Emily and Sam help them? Like Sam said, they're teenagers and they're living all alone, struggling to survive, no one should have to live like that, especially a kid. I think we should mind our own business and just help with whatever they need." All eyes are on me now, Sam seems pleased, while all the others look shocked, or confused. I guess this is kind of out of character for me, but it really doesn't matter.
"Thank you Paul, that means a lot to us. We do need help though, we want to convert the attic into Ronnie's room, so I need you big boys to build a permanent staircase leading up to it and then move all of the heavy furniture I've ordered up there. For Rick's room, we're just gonna add on to the house, so some of you will be helping Sam do that. Kim and I are going to decorate everything so that's already taken care of. It all just needs to be done in exactly two weeks," Emily says, energy clearing bouncing through her little body. Two weeks. That can be done as long as no one fucks around. We all agree.
Ronnie's POV
I watch as Ricky shoves the last box of our mother's stuff into the attic, shutting the trap door behind him. Packing up our entire house was hard enough, but packing our mother's room up had to be the hardest. When she left that night, so long ago, we knew she'd be gone for at least a few days, she usually was after all. Our mother is the kind of person that probably shouldn't have had kids, she's too selfish and childish. I mean at thirty five she was still going out, partying into the wee hours of the morning before dragging herself to work. She had so many different jobs because she always got fired for being late. It'd been just Ricky and I long before she left and never came back. We don't really know if she's dead or if she just finally decided to not come back. I'd been waiting for this really, it was always so clear how much she resented us. Ricky tried to shield me from it, but it was obvious in the way she was never around, the way she'd leave us with friends or even practical strangers to go off and do her own thing, she never even fed us half of the time. When Mrs. Young found us, I knew things were gonna change, she'd never let us live this way, all on our own. She called up Emily, her granddaughter and an old friend of mine and Ricky's. It was decided that we would take two weeks to pack up our whole house, finish out the school year, and then we would go live with Emily and her fiancé in La Push. Hopefully life there will be better to us. With the two weeks finally up, Ricky and I are saying goodbye to the hell hole that has been the only home we've ever known.
Ricky throws his arm around my shoulder, steering me away from the house, "Come on Ron, lets go start our new life."
Thank you to anyone that's read the story! I know it isn't the greatest, I'm not the best at writing, it's just something I enjoy doing for fun. I have a special place in my heart for Paul, so this story is mainly focused on him and his imprint, but other POV's may be introduced later on throughout the story. I really hope you enjoy and feel free to leave some feed back! Also I know this chapter wasn't very long, but I'll do better in the future, this chapter was basically just an introduction.
Oh and if anyone was wondering, the "leeches" Paul and the wolves were chasing in the beginning were Vladimir and Stefan from Breaking Dawn. This book will follow loosely with Breaking Dawn Part 2.
