Sherman knew that Mr. Peabody would be having a birthday tomorrow. And so, he decided that a pasta card would be a great gift for his adoptive dog father. With that decided, he ran to his room for supplies.

Entering the room, he first looked in the dresser, which contained almost all his things for spurs of creativity.

"Papers, scissors, glue..." Recounted Sherman. "I think I have everything."

The boy placed all his supplies on the table. But when he turned away, he saw that on the floor were all the remaining objects he had scattered when he was looking for his supplies. He didn't want Mr. Peabody to scold him for this mess, so he quickly put everything away place and ran to his father's kitchen for pasta.

Running down the corridor, he looked around, trying not to get caught by Peabody's eyes. But fortunately, he passed every doorway on the way to the stairs unnoticed, and he ran upstairs. When he reached the end of the stairs, he noticed a beagle that was cleaning dust from bookshelves. Sherman tried carefully reach the kitchen on tiptoe, and thankfully Peabody didn't notice him.

Having reached the kitchen, he ran to the refrigerator, rummaging around for a pack of tubular pasta from the freezer. With his prey found, he ran back to his room, trying not to "disturb" the dog again.

Having prepared all the tools required to create his masterpiece, he began to create until he felt himself falling asleep at the final stage of his creation, resting his head next to the semi-finished card.

After a few hours, Peabody walked into his room, noticing the boy fast asleep at his desk. Walking up to him, he watched him sleep soundly and mumble something under his breath. But Peabody's attention quickly turned to the mess on the table and… to his surprise; Folded in half was a small painted card of himself and his son, which was still messily decorated with the inscription 'Happy Birthday, Mr. Peabody!' from the pasta, which Sherman had secretly stolen from the kitchen.

The beagle took a moment to appreciate the work of his adopted son, and therefore he did not scold him. Peabody put Sherman on his bed and took off his glasses, ruffling his hair gently, quietly thanking him for such a nice present and leaving the room.

The next morning, during his daily routine, Peabody saw Sherman, who came running to him with a home-made card in his hands and a broad smile on his face.

"Happy Birthday, Mr. Peabody!" Cried the boy joyfully, hugging the beagle tightly, sweeping him off the ground in the process.

"Um... Sherman, not so tightly!" Peabody gasped, putting down his glasses. "Just let me down, please. It's hard for me to breathe!"

"Oh, I'm sorry." Sherman quickly apologized, loosening his hands and releasing the dog to the floor.

"It's okay, Sherman." The beagle warmly smiled, correcting himself.

"I knew you had a birthday tomorrow and decided to give you a present." Sherman offered his adoptive father a card, the dog accepting it gently with a furry paw.

His eyes once again traced the very drawing that his son had drawn from the previous night and, slowly opening it, began to read the birthday wish made by hand.

"So? Do you like it?" The red-haired boy asked impatiently, bouncing on his heels and looking at Peabody expectantly.

Without a word of response, he went up to Sherman and began to gently hug him, his tail joyfully wagging. Sherman, without any hesitation, returned the hug happily.

"Thank you, Sherman." The gentle voice of the dog hummed over his son's shoulder.
