Luke's POV
"I have got a bad feeling about this," said Han Solo with one hand on his pistol.
"Yeah, well what are you going to do about it?"" asked Obi-Wan Kenobi.
"Don't rush me old timer, this is a delicate situation."
"Make your move, Solo," stated Dad.
Han put in two gold credit chips worth 50 each. "I bet 100."
The falcon smelled like Dilnlexenan cigars and brandy that the men were sipping on while they were placing their bets and taking turns dealing cards.
"I am out," said Obi-Wan.
"I'm in," said Lando, throwing in two chips.
"I am out," said Dad.
"Yeah, I think I am out too," siad Jinn, throwing down his cards.
Jinn was twenty-nine and a Jedi knight, who still teamed up with Obi-Wan on missions. He and Ashla shared an apartment in the senate district a few blocks from the Jedi temple.
Jinn hardly ever got into a battle and when he did we all knew it was because it could not be helped. He was a master negotiator, and could get people to admit to anything. He constantly strived to get to the heart of why something was done, and find the ulterior motive. Because of that reason, he had found more, sith-initiated attacks than any other Jedi in his class. Okay, that might be exaggerating, but not by much.
Ashla had done amazing as a Jedi. Despite all of the trepidation of her becoming a Jedi, she had only ended up headstrong and brash. She was more on the daring side than her brother, but her casualties if there were a need for a fire fight was low. She was fiercely loyal to Depa and our family, and sometimes placed our safety above the order. If she ever stepped out of line, a week training the youngling seemed to ground her. She never received any praise from anyone but Depa, but Master Windu told me she was one of the top in her class.
Han's comlink started chirping and it looked down to see who it was. He ignored it and started to contemplate betting another hundred.
"Han you gonna get that?" asked Lando.
"It's Leia, she knows I am gambling."
"You have been caught, Han," I teased.
"I know. I know. We finished this hand, and then I will let her yell at me."
Suddenly, my comlink started chirping. I looked down at the number and saw that it was Mara, my wife.
"It's probably Leia," said Han.
"No, its Mara," said Luke.
"Answer it," said Dad.
"Don't answer it," said Han. "They will stop the game."
"Leia has probably got Mara all worked up too for some reason," said I, ignoring his comlink.
"What is with you boys?" asked Dad. "If your mother called me," then we heard his comlink beeping.
"You were saying," said Han.
Dad rolled his blue eyes. "Cowards," he muttered. "Hey Angel what are you doing?"
"Anakin, where the hell are you?"
We all looked at the comlink in shock. Padme Amidala was a woman of refined taste. She did not curse for anything, in the year I have known her.
"We are at the Falcon, having a little sabbac game. You know teaching Jinn."
"Your gambling at at time like this?!"
"A time like what? What is going on?"
"It's all over the HoloNet. Ben got killed."
"Wait," said Han Solo, "you mean, my son?"
"Yes."
"Where are you?"
"We are at the senate building. Ashla, Leia and your mom are here. They answer their signal."
"Okay we are coming," said Han, climbing into the pilot seat.
I jumped out of my seat and lowered the entry ramp, and with several following me. "Come on Han," I yelled to the cockpit, "we will get a transport to the senate building."
Suddenly the entry ramp closed, trapping us inside.
"We are in a ship," yelled Han over the speakers. "It's quicker to just go."
Lando Calrusian looked to me with fear in his eyes, and both of them started running towards the cockpit.
"Han what are you doing?" asked Lando.
"This ship was built to exact specifications, she is meant to do more than just sit around a hanger," said Han.
"Han this is a ship, built from parts of broken ships with an engine and a throttle, you wont get off the ground," reasoned Lando.
"She is my ship, and if I say jump, she says how high, now strap yourselves in."
Lando hopped into the co-pilot's chair and began helping Han with the take off. I ran back to the Main Hold where Obi-Wan and Dad were waiting.
"We are taking the ship to the Senate," I said.
"We are going to need to take it to the medical center," said Obi-Wan, warily.
"Lando is copiloting," I said sliding in beside Jinn.
"I hate this piece of junk," said Dad.
The ride to the senate was rough and bumpy, but somehow Han made it in one piece. When he landed, the rest stayed with the ship so they would not get a ticket and Dad and I went inside the Senate Building to collect the girls.
"Luke!" shouted Liea, upon seeing me. She ran from her mother's side to hug him. "Where is Han?"
"In the Falcon," I said.
"Why did you bring the Falcon?"
"Um we were having a sabacc tournament," I said sheepishly.
Leia sighed, "How much did he lose?"
"We were in the middle of a hand so not as much as you think," I said.
"Now what?" she asked.
"Well he could have regenerated anywhere in the galaxy, so now we have to find him, and to do that, we need to go to the Jedi Temple," said my dad.
We all raced back to the Falcon.
