Harry Potter pulled his socks up to their full height before fixing his shin pads to his shins as he listened to Dean Thomas complaining about having to share the football pitch with girls for what felt like the one-hundredth time. It didn't bother Harry that much as their P.E teacher and football coach, Miss Hooch was a woman but Dean, a very old fashioned male, was bothered by that too.

Ron Weasley and Neville Longbottom, Harry's best friends, didn't mind either whilst Seamus Finnigan, Dean's best friend, didn't care as well. But that was more of his excitement of seeing the girls in their P.E uniforms than any equality views.

Harry finished fixing the other shin pad to his other shin before he noticed barely any of his friends were finished getting changed. Knowing Miss Hooch didn't like people loitering in the changing rooms, Harry stood up and walked out.

Harry looked at the crowd of fellow football club attendee's for anyone he knew before spotting the bright red hair of Ron's sister, Ginny. She was alone, so Harry quickly hurried over to her and smiled when he arrived.

"Hi, Ginny," Harry said.

"Hiya, Harry" Ginny smiled back as she swept a hand through her long hair as she stretched backwards slightly, thrusting her chest out a bit.

Harry blinked as he noticed the way her… womanly attributes were curved and he couldn't help but stare, he was only a teenage boy after all.

Harry averted his gaze as Ginny faced him again and he forgot about the little incident as he and Ginny started to talk about football before the rest of his class came out and the matches began.

It wasn't until near the end of football club that what Harry would, in future call 'The Moment' happened. The annoying brat, Draco Malfoy had kicked the ball in the completely wrong way and it had spilt onto the other pitch on the field. Harry had been the closest to where the ball had been flying and had been chasing after it as he crashed into someone.

"I'm so sorry," Harry cried as he picked himself up and turned to see the person he had crashed into "I didn't mean…"

But he trailed off as he noticed it was Ginny he had caused to fall to the ground. She was sitting on her bum, holding herself up with her hands as she smiled an amusing smile at him.

"It's fine, Harry," Ginny chuckled. Harry's mouth opened slightly as he realised how beautiful Ginny was. Her red hair was like fire and framed her pale face like she was an angle, which Harry now believed she actually was. Her freckles were the prettiest thing he had ever seen. She truly was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

"Mind helping me up, Harry," Ginny's amusing smile and tone brought Harry out of his revelation about her.

"What?... Oh, yeah, sorry" Harry said as he helped Ginny off the ground.

"No big deal, we all… crash once in a while" Ginny grinned, causing Harry to laugh.

"Yeah, sorry again," Harry said. "Your rea…"

"Oi, POTTER!," Seamus shouted. "Stop flirting with the redhead and get over here with the ball!"

Harry went red at the accusation of flirting whilst Ginny let out a song like laughter.

"Yeah, Harry," Ginny teased. "Stop flirting with me and go give the guys the ball"

Harry spluttered for a few seconds before saying. "Yeah, better go. See you around"

Harry picked up the ball and jogged back over to his team. He kicked the ball to Seamus and they all resumed the game.

After practice, Harry was thinking about the incident with Ginny as he got changed. Ever since the game had re-began, Harry had had the overwhelming feeling to ask Ginny out and was currently trying to work up the courage to do it.

The problem was Ginny was very popular, not just in her year but the years above and below her. Ginny was pretty, smart and very outgoing, a fact Harry was amazed he hadn't realised until now. Ron said she was too popular for her own good but Harry had never seen it that way as she had never had a boyfriend.

That was another problem for Harry, Ginny had almost every boy in the school asking her out but she was notorious for turning them down. There was a very real chance Ginny would turn him down and Harry didn't know how he would deal with rejection.

"Harry," Ron said, being the second Weasley that day to bring him out of his thoughts.

"Yeah" Harry replied.

"Were you... You know... actually flirting with Ginny back there?" Ron asked.

"What!?" Harry whispered back. "Of course I wasn't, Ron. I'm shit at that type of stuff"

"Yeah, I guess you are," Ron said sheepishly. "Sorry, I'm just trying to look out for her you know. She's too popular for her own good"

Harry almost laughed at Ron for echoing his early thoughts but instead just shrugged, not really wanting to reveal his personal thoughts on his sister.

"You know," Ron whispered, looking cautiously at Seamus and Dean, the latter particularly. "I really wouldn't mind if you went out with her, you know. I trust you, mate"

Harry, a little baffled at Ron's revelation, could only nod and to continue planning to ask Ginny out.

His thoughts followed Harry as he walked home with Ron, Ginny and his other best friend, Hermione Granger.

"So, Harry," Ginny said as Ron and Hermione started to argue, once again. "Enjoy practice?"

"Yeah," Harry replied. "It was great, really fun"

"Apart from you crashing into me, that is," Ginny grinned.

Harry blushed. "Yeah, sorry about that again"

"It's alright," Ginny smiled at him. "I don't mind if you crash into me"

Harry snorted. "Well, I'll do it again if you want. I'm sure your future broken bones will appreciate that"

Ginny laughed, angelic music to Harry before she looked at him with a challenging yet amusing look. "You think you can break my bones do you, Potter?"

Harry, feeling daring, replied with. "Well, If you let me try, I'll do my best"

"Sure you could, champ" Ginny teased.

"You're probably right," Harry dramatically sighed. "If the tales Fred and George have told me are true, I should probably be very scared of you breaking my bones"

"That would be correct," Ginny said before she gave Harry a hard, blazing look which caused him to start breathing faster. "I like my men fearful of me"

Harry gulped, because of the comment and the fact he could see his house from where they were walking. Seeing his opening, Harry said. "So you wouldn't be against going out with me?"

Ginny's eyes widened, but only for a split second. She smiled as they both stopped outside of the Potter's house. "No, I wouldn't," she said.

Harry felt his heart sore for the sky and he smiled back. "So, would you like to go out with me?" he said. "As in, boyfriend and girlfriend?"

"Yes," Ginny beamed. "I would love to go out with you"

And before Harry could say anything, Ginny had pulled him by the collar, giving him a long-ish kiss on the lips. It was the most amazing feeling Harry had ever felt.

Harry breathed once her lips left his, smiling like a goofball. "Great… that's just great"

"Yeah, it is, " Ginny grinned back. She gave Harry one last peck on the lips before she said her goodbyes and started to jog after Ron and Hermione.

Harry stared after her for a few seconds before he smiled to himself and walked up to his driveway, opening the front door and entering his house.

"Hi, mum, hi, dad," Harry said as he hung his coat up on the wall. "I've got something to… tell you". Harry had trailed off as he saw who was seating at the kitchen table with his parents.

"Hi, Harry," his cousin Dudley smiled at him as his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon gave him disapproving looks. "So, who's the red-headed bird?"
