"You were raised by wolves?"
"Ah, Ah, magic wolves!" A hand flew through the air dramatically.
A blonde woman giggled in response to the gesture. "Oh, my apologies. You were raised by magic wolves."
Sitting to the right of the blonde was a brunette who merely folded their arms and nodded. The brown, unkempt hair bobbed at the motion and ruffled lightly in the breeze. It looked wild and almost made the blonde believe the strange girl sitting beside her was raised by magic wolves.
"That would definitely explain your wild appearance." The blonde smiled lightly and reached up to pull a twig from the matted mess of her companion's hair. The brunette swatted the hand away in slight annoyance. A low howl cut through the air drifting on the wind.
The brunette seemed to acknowledge the howl, but chose to ignore it. The blonde turned her attention back to the girl beside her. "Oh, you must tell me what makes these wolves of your so magical." The blonde smirked playfully. The brunette chose to ignore this and gestured dramatically once more.
"Well, they're-big!"
"How big?"
The brunette began to gesture with her arms trying to guess on the size almost as one might upon recounting a story about how big a fish one might have caught. After realizing her arms weren't near big enough to capture the size of her magic wolves the girl shrugged.
"Big."
"Is that so?"
"Well, sorry you don't believe me!" The brunette scoffed, a low growl underlying her words.
"I believe you!" The blonde raised her arms in mock defense, a smile ever present on her face throughout the exchange.
"Your body language says otherwise."
The blonde did her best to hide her laughter. The brunette let out a quiet, playful growl at the laughter. A smirk made its way onto her face and she moved from a sitting position to a crouching one preparing to pounce onto the blonde. As soon as her feet left the snowy ground in a leap, a massive paw appeared as if it were descending from the sky and squashed the brunette into the snow, effectively stopping her movements. The brunette let out a muffled complaint at having not been able to tackle the blonde for laughing at her.
The blonde's laughter ceased and she looked on, her expression morphed into one of surprised shock at the sight in front of her. Pressing the brunette girl into the snow was a wolf, a rather big wolf. Perhaps she should have taken the words of the girl currently face down in snow a little more seriously. The wolf stood roughly double the size of her own height and the blonde wasn't sure if she should run away in fear or look on in amazement.
The wolf shook its large head, snow falling lightly from its fur and snorted. It removed its massive paw from the brunettes back and let her stand up. The brunette gasped as she finally removed her head from the snow and took a deep breath. She dusted the bits of snow from off her outfit, face red from the cold before she was suddenly hoisted up by the back of her winter coat. The wolf had picked her up as if she were a pup and began to walk away with a grunt.
The brunette crossed her arms in annoyance and responded to the wolf, "No, I heard you calling, but I was-."
A low muffled bark interrupted her.
"I'll try to answer next time, but I was getting out and meeting new people like you said! You can't be mad at me for that," the brunette explained gesturing dramatically.
A small yip sounded in response.
"Yes, mama. She was nice."
The wolf dropped the brunette who landed with an 'oomf' in the snow before dragging herself up and running alongside the large canine. The wolf looked down amusement dancing in its golden eyes and let out a humorous snort.
The brunette stopped in her tracks as realization dawned on her. "Oh. You're right. I never actually got her name or formally introduced myself either."
A large bushy tail smacked over her head sending her stumbling forward a bit. Adjusting the hat on her head, the brunette growled playfully and chased after the large wolf.
The blonde had watched the scene in front of her without moving. The conversation had grown increasingly quiet as the wolf and the girl walked away. The same realization the brunette made crossed the blonde's mind, but she quickly dismissed it as the thought of the big, magical wolves came to the forefront of her mind once more. Perhaps these woods held more magic in them than she thought.
"I must find that wild, wolf-girl again."
