FIONA LOOKED AT HERSELF IN THE MIRROR.
For once in her life, it was possible that Fiona Fox actually hated her appearance. She hated her red puffy eyes, she hated the tears swelling down her face and ruining her make-up. The black tears that symbolised her imperfect mascara and eyeliner. She hated the bruise on her neck, a symbol of her weakness, a symbol of her losing a toxic battle.
She tried not to look at it. She focused on fixing herself. Fiona Fox was anything but a mess. She was a vixen and she lived up to the title. She was a beautiful, crafty woman and she aimed at continuing that reputation. She eyed her make-up bag, before getting her power and beauty blender. She dabbed as much power as she could, before patting it lightly on the bruise to hide the shame.
She hissed. It hurt like a bitch.
"Fuck!" she hissed as she dropped the beauty blender hastily into the bathroom sink. She glanced at her reflection again, the tears coming down her face were coming down harder and faster. She took a deep breath before she glanced at her new appearance. Her blue eyes were tired, bags circling under them as her face was filled with black tears.
Was love supposed to be like this? Fiona never really believed in fairy tales, not after witnessing the fall out of her parents marriage. She swore that she would never fall for someone like her father, a lazy grump who sat in his favourite brown Barcalounger, watching old football games and drowning his sorrows in beer. She would not be weak like her mother, allowing her father to continue in his behaviour while complaining about him at the same time.
Then she met Scourge. A handsome green hedgehog that provided her with everything that she wanted with the snap of his fingers. He had an eye for business, wanting to work in Casino Night Zone and own a large amount of casinos. She didn't care that her mother claimed that he was aiming for a business that aided with people's addictions, she was happy that she was with a man that could at least see the future.
Scourge treated her like a princess. He called her beautiful, bought her new clothes and new jewellery when she wanted it and paraded her like the proud person that she knew she was. Her mother never liked him, her father didn't really care much about him. It didn't really matter to her what they thought, they weren't exactly the ideal format for a romance story anyway. The only thing that truly mattered to her were her and Scourge.
Boys like that fool you. Her mother warned when she had introduced him to the family. Make you feel like you're their everything but you're really nothing to them.
She didn't believe her mother, or matter of fact, she didn't want to. What had her mother provided for her? She was not the exact role model that Fiona should have been looking up to. She was still with a worthless man that she knew that she hated. Fiona was with someone that she loved, someone that made her believe in those fairy tales that she had abandoned when she was a kid.
Her mother's advice didn't really come back to haunt her until the events of tonight. The school hosted a winter wonderland event every year and Fiona—after a large amount of begging—had convinced Scourge to take her there. Despite her tough exterior, she did enjoy cute events like these, plus she thought it was the perfect way to show that her and Scourge were truly a cute couple. She knew that most people in the school thought that her and Scourge were a toxic couple and she was ready to prove them all wrong.
She had glanced at Amy and Sonic, the golden couple of Chaos High. One was pink, one was blue. Childhood crushes turned into highschool sweethearts, the overdone cliché that wanted to make Fiona gauge her eyes right out. She had realised the difference between her with Scourge and Amy with Sonic. Fiona had watched as Sonic played the ring toss and won the panda bear toy for her. She had watched as Amy beamed with joy before pecking the blue hedgehog's lips and the smile and gaze the blue hedgehog had on her.
Fiona hated the jealously that she felt. She was happy with Scourge and she was convincing herself that she didn't need cheesy things like that. Scourge and her were an unconventional couple and she liked it that way.
She liked it that way.
She liked it that way.
She really did like it that way.
She didn't care that Sonic had never been involved with any cheating rumours. She didn't care that Amy and Sonic were seen as couple goals and her and Scourge were seen as the toxic couple. They didn't know her and Scourge, if they did, they would realise that they were just a couple with faults.
Every couple had their fights right? Scourge had come out of the bathroom, talking to a different girl, namely Alicia Acorn, his ex-girlfriend. The moment came flowing back to her.
"Ugh, where is Scourge?" the brown vixen muttered to herself. She sighed as she turned to the only thing that was in her sight.
The sight of Sonic and their friends grossing her out. Said blue hedgehog was sitting on the benches, his girlfriend on his lap as he rubbed her thigh gently, talking amicably with their friends Tails and Cosmo who were currently holding hands. She rolled her eyes at the foursome laughing gleefully, part of her wanting to rip out their throats.
However, there was a part of her—a very tiny part of her—that did want that experience. She didn't really have that many friends and mostly hung out with Scourge's group of friends that consisted mostly of assholes. Sure, she was a bitch but she did have some degree. Regardless, she refused to be jealous of Sonic and his friends. She was above that. They were beneath her, she was Fiona Fox dating the great Scourge the Hedgehog. Was she really wanting be like Sonic and his gang?
She inwardly gagged.
She heard a distinct form of laughter, realising that it was her boyfriend. She turned around to see her boyfriend, currently laughing with his ex, Alicia Acorn.
The vixen frowned. Scourge was aware of Fiona's dislike of the chipmunk, why would he start talking to her? Anger boiling inside of her, the vixen walked over to the pair before glaring at Alicia.
"Why the hell are you talking to this slut?" she emphasised 'slut' as she glared harshly at the chipmunk.
"Fiona, there's-
"You know I hate her." Fiona hissed. "Explain."
Scourge frowned before dragging Fiona towards the back of one of the stands before glaring at his girlfriend. "What the hell?"
"What do you mean by what the hell?" Fiona hissed as she mimicked his tone at 'what the hell'. "You know how much I hate her."
Scourge sighed exasperatedly. He had been tired of the same argument they had when it came to Alicia Acorn.
"She's just a friend." Scourge reassured as Fiona scoffed.
"You sure about that?" Fiona huffed. Everything after that statement happened so suddenly. She felt Scourge's hand on her neck before being pushed up against the wall, the pressure on her neck increasing.
"What the hell did you just say to me?" Scourge growled angrily as Fiona continue to croak her way through breathing. She had seen the different sides of angry of Scourge, but never this. He had never actually hurt her.
Almost as if he had read her mind, the green hedgehog became aware of his actions. His blue eyes widened with shock, before letting her go, realising what he had done.
"Babe I—"
"I should go home." Fiona let out, before walking away from the green hedgehog, his apologies growing quieter and quieter.
Scourge wasn't usually that angry. Sure, they've had a bit of their toxic fights and break-ups every now and again but Scourge would never mean to hurt her, would he?
Boys like that fool you. Make you feel like you're their everything but you're really nothing to them.
Chaos, was her mother right? Did Scourge really see her as nothing? Was she nothing? Did the boy she love truly love her back? Was she truly in a toxic relationship that she couldn't get out of?
She knew the answers to these questions, but she refused to acknowledge them.
Her phone vibrated, interrupting any future thoughts as she glanced at the message.
Babe: Baby, can we talk? I'm so sorry and I miss you x
He missed her. Words like that made her heart flutter, reminded her of all the good times that she had with the green hedgehog. Every couple had their bad days, and theirs just happened to be a lot more than others. Who were they to judge?
Fiona sighed, before replying
Fiona: Sure, I'll come over now x
The brown fox sighed before clearing away any last imperfections on her face and going to her closet and putting on his black hoodie. He had given it to her on their first date, a sentiment that warmed her heart a little.
She walked downstairs, before seeing her mother place a bowl of chilli in the microwave and her father, in his usual position, sitting on the Barcalounger watching old sport games.
"I'm off to sleepover at a friend's." She announced as her mother turned to glance at her, cocking a brow suspiciously.
"That friend wouldn't be that pest of a green hedgehog would it?" her mother commented icily as Fiona frowned. She hated her mother, and worse of all, she hated her mother making comments on her love life.
"At least my man can get out of his ass and do something with his life." Fiona hissed. The brown fox glanced at her father, who seemed unfazed by her comments. Her mother glared at her as Fiona continued walking towards the door.
"Don't you dare leave this house." Her mother growled as Fiona stopped.
She knew that she was still going to go, but she enjoying playing this game with her mother. Actually pretending to listen to her mother's advice. No matter what her mother says, no matter the amount of fights and yells that they get into, Fiona knew that she was not going to end up like her mother. A bitter, sad woman wishing for better in her life. She had a source of that, and it was in Scourge the Hedgehog.
She glanced at her mother, giving her one last smirk before slamming the door behind her.
~x~
The beauty of her relationship with Scourge was that he didn't live with his parents. She didn't have to end up pleasing anybody or acting like someone she wasn't. She could be herself, and know that Scourge was in love with the her for being her, not for pretending to be someone else.
The only downside was that she hated the apartment building that he lived in. It was dirty, stinky and she was pretty sure that majority of the residents here were call girls. She still preferred it to her home though, at least Scourge had his independence, despite the place not exactly being the best.
She sighed, before reaching his apartment door and knocking on it. The door opened, almost immediately, before Fiona show the green hedgehog. His quills were askew and his eyes were red and puffy.
He had been crying.
It was weird to see Scourge cry. He was always a confident individual. A man who executed boldness and was the epitome of not giving a flying fuck. The fact that he was crying, especially over her, made her feel more special in his eyes.
"Babe-
"Baby, I'm so sorry." Scourge let out. Fiona reminded mute, which allowed him to continue. "I don't know what came over me. I thought you were going to dump me and I got scared and I—"
Fiona cut him off as she gave the hedgehog a hug, hearing a few sobs on her shoulder. How could she hate a man who was this vulnerable to her? How could she hate a man that willingly saw the wrongness of his actions and was apologising? Could she hate someone that truly loved her this much?
"It's okay." Fiona cooed as the hedgehog sighed before allowing her to enter the apartment.
The fox turned to look at her boyfriend to notice that he was staring at her too. His eyes were filled with lust and admiration for her. She loved when he looked at her like that, it made her happy to know that she was the only person in the world that could bring the vulnerability out of him.
Blue eyes stared at each other intensely, before Scourge pulled her over for a kiss. She was shock for a minute, before she kissed him back, their kiss getting more passionate and rough by the second. She wrapped her arms around his neck, before jumping and wrapping her legs around his waist. He guided her towards his bed, never ending the intense lip lock between the two.
Unfortunately, the two stopped, allowing Fiona to breathe a little before taking off her hoodie, revealing her black lacy bra.
"Fuck, you're so sexy." Scourge whispered hungrily before attacking her lips once more, the brown vixen returning it earnestly.
The green hedgehog moved from her lips to her neck, sucking it eagerly as Fiona couldn't help but moan. She was moaning from the pleasure and the pain from the injury that he can caused her. Did he already forget that he had attacked her?
It was an accident, Fiona. She reminded herself. And he apologised.
Fiona mentally nodded at that thought. He didn't mean it. It was something that he had done at the heat of the moment and he immediately regretted. Scourge would never purposefully hurt her, she knew that. He would never do anything that would actually cause her any damage.
The hedgehog moved back to her lips, allowing her to be succumbed him. It was a short kiss, much to her disadvantage.
"Promise me you'll never leave me." Scourge said, his blue eyes looking at her pleadingly.
Fiona glanced at him. Here it was, something that she had always wanted. A guy, willing to do things for her and willing to be there for her. Wanting to be with her at all times and not being ashamed to be with him.
But then her mother and father's relationship. Did her father make her mother promise the same thing? To never leave his side no matter what and there she was, wasting away her life by being with a man who was less than nothing?
Fiona scoffed at that thought. Scourge was different. Scourge was not her father. Scourge was anything but her father. She loved Scourge and Scourge loved her back. Sure, their love was not conventional and cheesy like the romantic comedies but there was a reason why love like that only exists in movies and television shows. Because it wasn't real life. Real life was hard, and sometimes, love was hard.
But Scourge was worth it.
She smiled. "I promise."
Scourge smiled, before kissing her one more.
Fiona was happy. Hell, people may argue that it wasn't a perfect relationship but she didn't care. She knew what Scourge and her had was special. She knew that this was somewhat wrong, going back to a guy that had hurt her, but she knew that he didn't mean it.
After all, she knew that Scourge loved her and she loved him.
And that was all that truly mattered right?

Hey! I just found this on my laptop and wanted to finish it. First off, I would like to say;
I DO NOT, under any circumstances, support toxic relationships. This is not a story that glorifies it in any way, this is a story of her trying to justify his actions because she loves him and does not want to be like her parents. If anyone is treating you like shit in your relationship, do not accept it. You deserve so much better and should never allow yourself to be treated in an extremely toxic manner.
Secondly, I don't really like Fiona or Scourge. Scourge is okay of a character (I mean, the whole 'bad Sonic' is weird and disgusting) but he does provide for some more characters in stories. Additionally, Fiona being 'good girl turned bad' is pretty gross as well. But my dislike for them didn't prompt this story. I had started this when I had finished watching euphoria (one of the best + most realistic teen tv shows alive) and saw the portrayal of Maddie and Nate's relationship and thought of writing a story like that for them.
Scourge/Fiona is not my ship. I prefer him with Rosy although I don't really care about the Scourge/Fiona ship. I know it's an attempt to make an 'evil Sonally' *gags* but I prefer Scourge/Rosy stories (when they are written well and give Rosy more depth than making her character what Anti-Amy fans perceive Amy to be + depicting mental illness as a trait that only villains can have)
Anyway, this one-shot combines euphoria + the song Moral of the Story by Ashe (I've been on tik tok way too much)
Anyway, I hope you all like this and I will see you all soon! Wow, I never actually realised how much I missed writing
Also, thinking of making a book about rants about the Sonic fandom, because I have A LOT of thoughts. Should I? We'll see.
See you all soon and I hope you all are keeping safe!
