"Skylark?" Stoneclaw meowed softly as he entered the nursery, his three kits fast asleep, Brindlekit, Breezekit and Shadekit. They were perfect, Brindlekit was a soft she-kit with dark gray fur and blue eyes, Breezekit was a black she-kit with one white paw and amber eyes, and Shadekit was a gray tabby she-kit, and exact copy of Stoneclaw except she had green eyes instead of blue.

"Y-yeah Stoneclaw" the jet black she-cat replied coughing. She had green-cough, and the medicine cat said it was highly unlikely she'd survive the next moon. Stoneclaw padded closer to his mate, settling down and curled his tail around the frail she-cat.

"Remember when you were a rogue? And I hated you?" Stoneclaw meowed remembering the black she-cat when she first joined WindClan. Skylark purred.

"Of course. Why are you telling me this?" she wheezed, coughing. Her body felt cold, and Stoneclaw sighed.

"I'll miss you my love." he meowed sadly. "I'll always remember you though. Forever."

"I love you Stoneclaw." Skylark purred, she closed her eyes. "I will forever."

A few moons later

"Stoneclaw, it's a shame that Needlestar had to die so early." Moonheart meowed as they entered the Moonstone. Stoneclaw nodded, still upset that his former mentor/leader died. It was only yesterday they had a big battle against ShadowClan. His kit, Breezepaw broke her leg. They settled down and finally, Stoneclaw answered.

"Yeah. Needlestar was a good leader." Stoneclaw meowed before closing his eyes.

"Welcome, Stoneclaw, or should I say Stonestar?" a gray tom meowed, beside him there was a white and black she-cat.

"Needlestar! Goldeneye!" Stoneclaw meowed, the two were siblings who were great warriors. Goldeneye, unfortunately died of the same greencough that took Skylark.

"With this life I give you honesty, be honest to those who trust you, after all giving back is always the best." Goldeneye meowed licking his nose. She stood back up, Stoneclaw felt a shock. He stared at himself in the future, leading the Clan to a Gathering. Needlestar padded beside Goldeneye, signaling her to go away. She walked away and disappeared into StarClan.

"With this life I give you mentoring, be the greatest mentor you can. Promise me Stoneclaw." he rumbled with happiness. He touched his forehead and whispered "Beware, the forest may not be what it seems, never question the rumbling storm." Stoneclaw felt a jolt shock thorugh his body.

As Stoneclaw received his next six lives, he saw his mother, Flowerpelt. His father, Grayfur, his sister, Lakepaw, his best friend Smokeblaze, former medicine cat Leafshade, and a life from his kit brother, Berrykit. Finally came the jet-black she-cat he was waiting for.

"Stoneclaw, love." the cat meowed. "With this life I give you love, remember to love all our kits for me, I love you." she licked his forehead and nuzzled his nose with her own.

"Skylark. I love you." Stoneclaw meowed with grief and love.

"I love you too, Stonestar." she finished and disappeared. "Stonestar, love, I'll be waiting." Stoneclaw heard but it was only a faint whisper.

"Stonestar!" "Stonestar!" voices cried."You were always destined to be WindClan's leader"

"Larkkit! Wait up!" Larkkit heard as she raced across the nursery, her sister, Frostkit was following her. Larkkit giggled as she leaped from nest to nest, roughing the nursery. Frostkit followed, making it even dirtier. Two kits just stared at the two sisters shaking their heads.

"You know, Larkkit, your pelt would be prettier if you didn't rough around that much." Blossomkit mewed, her silver fur gleaming and smooth. Her brother Stormkit nodded.

"We'll all be apprentices soon, so stop fooling around!" he meowed. He glanced at Frostkit, her white fur now all muddied up. She smiled at him, and stopped jumping. Larkkit stopped too.

"Wait really?" Larkkit asked. "We're only four moons old though!" Stormkit and Blossomkit were the kits of Rushflower and Lionclaw. Lionclaw was the deputy of WindClan.

"Yeah, but in two moons we'll be apprentices and we'll have to be with Oakpaw and Daisypaw." Blossomkit mewed. Frostkit nodded and stared out of the nursery. The sun was shining, and WindClan was the best Clan ever.

"You guys, wanna visit the elders?" Frostkit asked. She licked her paw. "They still haven't told us that story about why SkyClan left."

Larkkit nodded. "Then let's gooo!" She raced outside, the sun gleaming on her muddy fur. She closed her eyes and felt a breeze as she walked slowly.

"Larkkit?" a voice from above asked. She opened her eyes to see a brown tabby tom, her father was looking at her with a mischievous smile. "What are you up to this time little one?" Frostkit and the others were already at the elder's den yelling at Larkkit to hurry up so they could hear the story.

"Storytime!" Larkkit screamed, happily. She ran around her father and caught up with the other kits. "Did you tell the story yet?" she asked.

"Larkkit. We were all waiting for you." Frostkit meowed staring at her annoyingly, but there was a hint of amusement. The elders looked at Larkkit, there were three elders. Yellowear, a yellow tom who was deaf in one ear. Brokenwhisker, a gray tabby she-cat with greyish whiskers. And Softfur, a pale she-cat who retired early because of green-cough.

"Excuse Larkkit, it's Thorntail, he always loved to play around and joke." Softfur purred. Thorntail was her son, meaning Larkkit and Frostkit were her granddaughters.

"Are you kits here for a story?" Brokenwhisker croaked. "I thought you were Daisypaw, and Oakpaw. They were supposed to find my fleas." The gray tabby she-cat laughed. "Obviously, you could do better than them, so why don't you help your old-"

"That's enough, Brokenwhisker." Yellowfur meowed, turning his head to face the kits, he meowed again. "Want to hear a story about badgers?"

"YEAH!" the kits meowed, they sat down, forgetting why they came in the first place. To hear a SkyClan story.

"Let's go to the pond after this." Frostkit whispered to Larkkit. "We could hunt-"

"Shush, Frostkit. This story is about badgers, beware them, but never stray too far from them." Brokenwhisker meowed.

"What? Aren't they scary though?" Blossomkit asked, shivering at the thought of the black and white creature.

"They aren't really.. Here's a story about them though. There was once an apprentice named Badgerpaw, he was a ShadowClan warrior and he was very sick. He was made an apprentice when he was only three moons old, because ShadowClan had a terrible leader, named Crankstar. He would terrorize all the other Clans and BOOM! One day, Badgerpaw was sent on patrol, but there was a badger! Badgerpaw fought with all his might, and asked his Clanmates to help. But all refused to help the sick apprentice. When Badgerpaw fought, he clawed the badger, and back then, badgers were all black because they were known as dark creatures. Unfortunately, Badgerpaw died when the badger swiped him with it's paw. StarClan was disappointed in the Clan, and back then, badgers were way more aggressive. So StarClan put the white streaks on badgers, making them less aggressive." Softfur meowed, adding little effects of hisses and growls.

"So now you know why badgers have white streaks." Brokenwhisker meowed, finishing the story.

"Wow." Frostkit meowed in awe. Larkkit purred. The elders chuckled, the badger story always tricked kits, it was made up by Brokenwhisker, when her mate Badgerclaw died. It was a terrible story, but had always made kits scared.

"Well, that was boring." Blossomkit spat. "Let's go play somewhere else" she mewed to the other kits. They nodded and left.

As they entered the nursery their parents were waiting. Thorntail was nuzzling his mate's fur. Her gleaming white fur sparkled and her green eyes glimmered with amusement and love. His mate was Snowfeather, the prettiest she-cat in the Clan. Snowfeather purred as she felt her mate nuzzling her. Rushflower and Lionclaw were sitting beside them whispering.

"Ew. Love!" Larkkit spat. She wrinkled her nose in disgust. Frostkit wrinkled her nose, mimicking her sister. Blossomkit purred.

"I think it's romantic!" she meowed. Stormkit sat in silence staring at a new nest in the nursery.

"What's that for momma?" he asked, pointing his tail at the newly made nest. Rushflower laughed.

"That my dear, is for Redrush, she is expecting kits!" Rushflower meowed. Stormkit nodded.

"We're having new kit friends?" Frostkit asked. She then gasped. "New kit friends!"

Larkkit bounced up excitedly. She purred and nuzzled her mother's soft fur. "I'm so excited." Larkkit then yawned.

"Looks like some kits need some rest." Lionclaw rumbled with amusement. The other kits looked droopy and tired. Larkkit curled into her nest with her mother and sister, feeling her father leave the den with Lionclaw.

"Goodnight Frostkit, goodnight Blossomkit, goodnight Stormkit." Larkkit meowed before finally giving in to the darkness of sleep.

Only the flight of lark could save us! Help us! The breeze is in danger, soon will the others. Only the flight of a skylark could fight against the sharp thistle of the gorse bush. Beware the sharp thistle! What about the gorse bush? If she dives to deeply into the river, she'll drown! Sapphire? What's that? What about Swiftfeather? What happened to her? I thought she was going to save us! Only one cat could now, it's the bird who flies as high as Skylark.

"Only the skylark could finish the sharp thistle of the gorse bush, but be careful, the skylark falls as it touches water."

"Moonheart, what's happening?" a gray tabby tom meowed waking the black tom. The black tom gasped.

"Oh, it's only you. Stonestar, you scared me for a second." Moonheart meowed, facing his leader. It was night-fall and he'd just been dreaming.

"Did you hear a prophecy?" the gray tom rumbled. "I heard you muttering some stuff"

Moonheart nodded. "Only the skylark could finish the sharp thistle of the gorse bush, but be careful the skylark falls as it touches water"

"What? Skylark was my mate. She's dead though, she died of greencough moons ago." Stonestar meowed. It hurt to think of his deceased mate, his kits were fine though. Brindlefrost, Breezefeather, who was now a medicine cat, and Shadeleaf.

"I'm not too sure.. Stonestar, I think something bad is about to happen. Real soon." Moonheart meowed.
