First Fanfiction. The angst of my first time publishing fills me. ahhhhh...!
Please review, I would love comments and critical advice.
By the way, this story is set in Year 6. Follows basic canon plotline, but with small Dramione interactions here and there. Don't worry though, a few chapters in I'm thinking of going full out Dramione. Mostly fluffy. Kind of an angsty slow-burn.
Again, please review, it would make my day.
~Amortentia~
A Dramione Love Story
Harry and Ron were waiting for Hermione.
She was late, Harry thought. She was never late.
Ron was also worried. Slughorn had already started the class. The two looked at each other with angst. "Do you know where she might be?" Ron whispered.
"No idea. Maybe she's rushing from the library right now. I wouldn't be surprised if she lost track of time and attempted to read 'Hogwarts: A History' again," Harry joked trying to relieve his own concern.
Ron chuckled, his uneasiness left him as he imagined the frantic witch running through the corridors searching for their class. The amused Ron turned back to the professor and concentrated on the lesson. Harry wasn't as laid back as Ron though, every few minutes, he would look at the shut door waiting for their friend to arrive.
"PAH!" The dungeon's door swung open to reveal a hectic young witch puffing like if she had just run a marathon. Hermione panted for breath before speaking.
"I'm so sorry Professor, I lost track of time, won't happen-
Why does it smell like if the room was drenched in Malfoy's cologne?!" the Gryffindor asked a louder than usual startled by what she smelled.
The whole class just stared at her, even Slughorn was baffled. Some shuffled their feet, others whispered to each other. The Slytherins, in particular, started sniggering trying to suppress their laughs. The sudden attention of everyone made Hermione feel uncomfortable. She shot a look at the blushing Ron with a 'what-is-happening-did-I-say-something-stupid-what-is-going-on?!' sort of expression.
"Hermione, we're, uh... we're making Amortentia," Ron muttered. Hermione could feel her blood rushing to her face. She quickly sat on her seat and hid her face from embarrassment. After the laughter died down, the professor stood up. She wished the Earth would just open up and swallow her.
"Well," Slughorn cleared his throat demanding silence, "As Mr Weasley just stated, today we will be making Amortentia. The world's most powerful love potion. Its ingredients consist of; root of Banksia, crushed beetle wings, eel eyes…" Slughorn's words droned off.
Hermione didn't give a crap about what the potion was made of.
Well, at least for now... she would never forgive herself if the potion's ingredients list was on her N.E.W.T.S and she didn't know it by heart.
The only thing Hermione cared about now was the twitchy ferret. She took her hands away from her face and looked at Malfoy, a few desks in front of her. He was sniggering with Goyle and Blaise.
The boy must-have sensed someone looking at him from behind because he quickly turned around. He saw Hermione staring. The Slytherin smirked at her and winked. Draco fixed his platinum hair and turned back to the lesson. His pride swelling like a balloon.
Hermione could only blush and hide herself again.
"Hey Hermione," nudged Harry grinning. She looked up already knowing what he was going to say. "Since when have you liked Malfoy?" he teased.
"Oh, shut up Harry," she chuckled, hitting him with her potions book on the head.
Soon after, the class had already forgotten about the minor spill and focused on the quite interesting lesson.
