Mrs. Kotter came home. Her husband was already there.
"Hi, honey," she said.
"Hi."
They kissed. "I'm warming up last night's spaghetti."
"That's fine. There's something I wanted to talk with you about."
"OK."
They sat on the couch together.
"I was accosted at the school, today."
This shocked him. "Accosted?"
"By two boys. I believe their names were Carl and Frankie."
"I know about them. What happened?"
"They cornered me at the west exit. One pulled out a switchblade."
"Oh my God! And then, what?"
"They smashed a coke bottle on the floor. Then they forced me to walk on the glass—barefooted!"
"Oh my God!"
"But your boys saved me"
"You mean my sweathogs?"
"Right. Arnold, Boom Boom, and Juan. They came just as I was about to step on the glass."
"Amazing! What did they do?"
"They beat up the two of them and told them never to bother me again. Then they walked me to my car."
"Wow! I'm very proud of them! Are you OK? Your feet didn't get hurt, did they?"
"No, I don't think so." She quickly took her shoes and socks off and looked at her feet. "Looks like no damage done. The school's floor isn't very clean, though!"
"I'm sure it isn't! I'll have to thank them tomorrow."
At that moment, a bell rang. They went into the kitchen to check on dinner.
"You know, seeing you barefooted reminds me of something that happened to my Uncle Waldo."
She groaned!
