A/N: Soo...disclaimer. I don't own TVD, Damon (I wish), or anything Twilight related.

I have a million other projects in the works, but I just wanted to imagine a world where Renesmee goes buck-wild over blood and Damon Salvatore. Yeah, yeah. Janesmee shippers be damned on this one. Half-vampire girls just wanna have fun.

Bloodlust

Chapter One - Human is Better Than Pizza

oOoOo

Music blared from my speakers as I laid on my bed, flipping idly through boring fashion magazines. What was the point of immortality if you were doomed to constant boredom? I could call Jake, but that would definitely be considering non-grounded activity.

It was honestly ridiculous; the concept of grounding a half-vampire, half-human girl just for accidentally overindulging.

Totally an accident. Not on purpose.

Okay, maybe it was a tad on the 'stop controlling my life or I'll kill the pizza guy' kind of lash out but…wouldn't you?

I mean, imagine being six years old except wait; you're not really six because you grow exceptionally fast, so you're really around seventeen and your family is halfway made up of mind-reading, emotion-manipulating, future-seeing vampires - and you have a werewolf best friend – and you're literally not allowed of the house like, ever.

I know I'd kill the pizza guy if that wasn't my life.

"Nessie?" A husky, familiar voice called with a slight knock at my cracked doorway.

I dropped the magazine to my chest and blew out my cheeks with a dramatic exhale, before flopping over to my belly to look at my friend with a wide grin.

"Oh, hey Jake. What's up?"

He scrubbed his face and sighed, sliding into the room with slouched shoulders. Ah. He knew.

"Oh, come on. S'not that bad. He was like, 40 and totally didn't have a life if he's a –"

"Renesmee!" Jacob snapped, his eyes turning dark as he balled his fists.

I scoffed with a roll of my eyes, "Ugh. You too? Seriously – I'm bored. Can we go for a run?"

Jacob shook his head and ran his hands through his cropped back hair.

Jacob was a lot of things. Hilarious. Kind. Adventurous. Nurturing. Daring.

Serious was not one of them.

See, Jacob sometimes liked to play the 'I'm your moms best friend and I look out for you, and you're also my best friend but I'm seventeen years older than you and so you have to listen to me' game.

It was always met with;

'Well, I don't want to listen to you. Can we go for a run?'

and followed with;

'Nessie – I'm serious. Don't look at me…okay, fine. We will talk after, okay?'

concluded with;

'Can we just forget about it, Jake?'

I mean, its not like I didn't understand what I was doing and how I was acting was wrong...it was just that I didn't hold the capacity to care past a fleeting thought. My hormones were all over the place, which caused a domino of problems. At the forefront of said problems, was my bloodlust.

I had a control…problem. Just a small one. Jasper level problem.

Alright, more like Jack-the-ripper meets half-vampire half-human toddler/teenager kind of problem.

Nothing to worry about, right?

"Nessie, we really need to talk about what happened. Why didn't you call me before?"

I looked at my friends somber face, his tanned cheeks flushed with blood, indicating he had just ran here. I picked at my bedspread and frowned.

"I don't know. I got so irritated and then...I freaked." I admitted, and looked up at him under my lashes. "They're really mad at me, Jake. They weren't this upset last time, because I was so little and defending myself, but they're really, really mad. Dad yelled, and he never yells."

Jacob sighed deeply, scrubbing his face as he slid down against my door. He held his face in his hands for a moment, and then peaked at me through his fingers before dropping them to the floor.

"Are you alright, Nessie? Tell me the truth, kiddo." His voice was sincere, as it usually was.

I shrugged, "I feel the same as always. Crazy." I muttered, looking back down at my hands.

I heard a creak, and smelled him come closer to me, until I felt the heat radiating off his body. I skimmed over his face, noticing how intense he onyx eyes appeared as he stared at me.

"You're not crazy, Nessie. You're growing up fast, hell...before I phased...I lashed out, too. I got in a lot of arguments with dad, I got in physical fights at school..."

I glared at him under my furrowed brows. "Yeah, but you didn't kill anyone."

Jacob grimaced, and his eyes fell to the floor.

I rolled over onto my back, staring up at the little glow in the dark stars plastered all over my ceiling. "Jacob, how come you hang around me so much if I do bad things and drink blood? You're supposed to hate me, right? I mean, biologically."

I heard his breath catch in his throat, and didn't need to see his face to know how high his eyebrows were raised, but I glanced at him anyways.

"Because, you're my best friend, Nessie." His answer was simple.

I shook my head, flopping back over and poked his chest. "That's not an answer."

His plump tan lips pursed into a fine line, before he chewed on the bottom lip in thought for a moment, before shrugging nonchalantly.

"I guess because if I was you, I wouldn't want to hang out with vampires all day, everyday." His face cracked into a smile before he grabbed me under my armpits and slid me off the bed, into his arms. "Nessie, I love you with all my heart. You're my family. I don't care what you are, who you are...I'll always love you. No matter what, kiddo."

I snuggled into his chest, feeling so small in his arms. The heat encased me, soothing my aching body. The burn in my throat returned, prompting my need to quench my thirst. "I love you, too Jacob. Can we go hunting now, please?"

He let out a groaning sigh, before pushing me off him and gesturing to the window.

I squealed, and scrambled out the window before he could change his mind. I felt the air change, and knew Jacob had shifted. I began to run, enjoying the early spring wind whipping my hair around.

An hour, two moose, and one full belly later...my agitation only heightened as my body ached and protested with every step I took. When would this end?

"Are you finished?" His voice called out to me behind some trees, knowing he was hiding his nudist act before phasing back. I rolled my neck and pushed the moose's carcass away from me.

"Still hungry." I growled and flicked my hair over my shoulder, inciting he needed to bug off. My body ached, every joint felt like it was on fire and the only thing that helping was blood.

It was, however, the truth. I was hungry. Always. So. Hungry. It was bottomless, even with the warm blood from the two moose I had slaughtered, sloshing around in my belly. The more I drank, the more I wanted. Thus, sending my heart racing with even deeper cravings.

I clenched my jaw and fingers, inhaling to hopefully catch scent of a few more, unlucky herbivories. If I was lucky, however…a carnivore would appear.

Or a human.

Er, I mean – omnivore. Yup.

"Ness, you okay?"

I growled and threw up my hands with exasperation. "Can I just enjoy this, alone?"

Silence hung in the air, before he sighed.

"Nessie...come on. Be respectful." He pleaded sadly.

My eyes rolled, and then shot him a glare. "I know you love me, Jacob. But, I'm a vampire at the end of the day. I kill. I drain. I MOVE ON. Wish everyone would just realize it's NORMAL."

"It doesn't have to –"

I cut him off, "Be what? Violent? I should have compassion? I should want to only want animal blood? Guess what, Jake? I don't care!" I snarled and stomped up to him. I pressed his chest with the point of my finger and nudged him against a tree. "I'm damn near ready to light them all on fire and watch it burn the fuck down."

Jacob's eyes widened, but not in shock. No. He was used to my mood swings by now.

"Renesmee!"

I feigned mock horror, "Oh, ReNeSmEe! Don't curse! Don't make threats! DON'T! DON'T!"

I threw my arms up and screeched into the night sky. I felt like I was going crazy again, just like I had when I snapped the neck of that pizza guy.

"Renesmee?" A foreign, accented voice questioned lightly from a few feet away. My eyes snapped to the direction and saw Nahuel step out from the shadows into the moonlit clearing.

I blinked a few times and quirked my eyebrows in surprise. "Nahuel?"

He chuckled and crossed his arms over his broad chest. "Hello. It's been a long time since I've seen you. Jacob, hello as well."

Jacob grunted and stepped in front of me, protectively, which annoyed me even more. When would everyone just recognize I'm not some weakling who can't fend for herself?

"What are you doing here?" I asked, quite rudely, but I wasn't in the mood for conversation. I was in the mood for blood and he was getting in my way.

"I've been asked to stop for a visit. I hear you're struggling with control."

I rolled my eyes and kicked the moose's carcass. "They're mad because I killed the pizza guy."

"And?"

I growled, "And two drunk teenagers last year, but that was totally not my fault. They tried to attack me."

"So, you enjoy human blood then?" He questioned with raised brows.

I furrowed my brows in annoyance and dropped my mouth open. "Uh, yeah. It's way better."

"I agree."

"So, what are you doing here then?" I questioned with apathy.

"Coming to take you home with me, where you may feed freely without any concern of your family." His face twisted into a wide grin.

Jacob snarled and snatched me up in his arms. "Over my dead fucking body."

This attitude was met with an eye roll from Nahuel. "You wolves truly have no sense of humor. I was only joking. I've come to show Renesmee some tactics I've learned to resist human blood. I began to feed on animals once I learned of your family's lifestyle, taking lives for over 150 years wracked up a lot of guilt. As hybrids, our emotions can be heightened, which I'm sure you have recognized. It's due to our genetic makeup, I assume. Since we grow at an accelerated rate, our hormones are shifting every minute. It's very difficult to suppress our urges."

I wriggled out of Jacobs grasp and shot him a glare before turning back to Nahuel, completely enthralled. "No one understands. I feel different everyday!"

He nodded and offered a sympathetic smile. "Yes, and you will until you're about six and a half. That's when the growing slows, and you begin to age much slower for the rest of the year. This next half-year is very crucial, seeing as how this is the year you will experience puberty and your biggest spurts."

I blinked rapidly, then furrowed my brows. "So…just a little longer and it'll taper off?"

"Yes, Renesmee. I'm glad your family called. I will be here every step of the way for you." He assured, taking my hands and kissing the knuckles. Jacob growled at this, but I was swooning. No one had ever looked at me the way Nahuel was.

My eyes lit up at the news, and I threw myself into his arms. Finally, he was someone who understood!

Jacob cleared his throat, "Uh, okay. Nessie? We should get back. Your parents might kill me for sneaking out with you to hunt."

I pulled away from Nahuel and shot a glare at the werewolf before huffing, knowing he was right. If I wanted to talk to Nahuel, it would have to wait until morning.

"You'll come over in the morning?" I timidly asked as Jacob grasped my hand roughly and began dragging me away.

He smiled warmly and offered a nod. "Goodnight, Renesmee. Try not to kill anyone else tonight." He joked with a wink and ran before I could reply.

Jacob was huffing and puffing the whole walk back to the big house, grumbling under his breath incoherently.

I stopped and stomped my foot. "What is your problem, Jacob?"

His dark eyes narrowed as he glanced at me. "That guys been a creep since you were a baby. I don't like him."

I growled and flicked him. "He's a hybrid and at this rate he's going to replace you as my best friend."

Hurt flashed across his features and he became sympathetic instantly. I knew it was a harsh bluff, but Jacob pissed me off.

"Nessie; I didn't mean to upset you...I just don't trust him."

I sighed, dragging it out dramatically and crossed my arms. "It's fine, Jacob. I just wish everyone would stop hovering."

"We love you, Ness. That's all. Can you understand that?" He asked, reaching out to grasp my hand. He toyed with my fingers, which still looked small and childlike in his own. Despite my estimated age to be around fifteen, I still was rather petite.

"Can we just move on, please? I'm tired."

Jacob groaned and scrubbed his face roughly. "Okay, Ness."

I watched with raised brows as he dejectedly sighed and walked way from me, dropping my hand in the process. I frowned, and trailed after him. I felt a tinge of regret for snapping at him, but I decided I wasn't that interested in giving it another thought tonight. My heart panged as he leaned down, kissed my forehead and told me goodnight without another word, leaving me at my front door. I paused to watch him retreat into the woods, waiting until I knew he was gone before pushing open the door. Dad had obviously heard my thoughts, since I was greeted, immediately, by my overbearing vampire father.

"Renesmee..." Dad chastised while crossing his arms.

I rolled my eyes and threw myself over the back of the couch, landing on the plush cushions with ease. "Nahuel's here, is that apart of my grounding policy or...?" I blunted stated as I glanced down at my manicured nails. I flashed my eyes to study my mother at the edge of the room, a book draped across her lap as she sat in the love seat. Mom wasn't really phased by my attitude these days, and actually was quite good at giving it right back.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

"We strictly told you to not leave, and you do anyways. We were gone ten minutes, and thats all it took for you to disobey us? Do you even feel any remorse for your actions?" Dad snapped, drawing my attention back over to him.

I pursed my lips and inhaled as I mock-thought about his question.

He knew the answer, though. That was apart of my grounding policy. Mom can't shield me.

Que the annoying, overbearing, controlling, mind-reading father antics...

"Renesmee!"

I narrowed my eyes in a glare. "Actually, dad. I don't. I told you I was hungry and you tried to get me to eat pizza."

"You asked for pizza!" He snarled and pinched the bridge of his nose before he began to pace. Mom was back to reading her book, still as a statue, besides when she turned the pages.

"No, I asked to hunt first and you told me I had to eat human food first. So, I did. I ate human." I smartly replied and jumped off the couch. "Dad, look; I get you have this high horse because you only killed humans who were bad people, but newsflash. That guy was probably a low life if he's a pizza man in Forks, Washington."

He stopped, and looked at me with something close to horror. Nice, dad.

"We have been very patient and forthcoming about your control. We know how difficult it is to manage the bloodlust, and we are only trying to help. But, with this death we have to relocate. We've been here too long; humans are beginning to question. You will be saying goodbye to Jacob in the morning, please pack what you'd like to bring with us and get some sleep."

I stared at him in shock, and for once I didn't have a smart comeback. I was lost for words.

We were leaving? Without Jacob?
