Andy's POV-
This is not how I wanted my best friend to find out about the love of my life at all. The night before Sullivan and I were at my house alone. Maya was over at Carina's apartment. To be honest, I'm very glad that she has someone besides me to talk and vent to. She seems very happy with her, for the first time in a while.
I invited Robert over to my house for the first time. I was very nervous to have invited him over. So as soon as my shift was over I rushed home to clean very quickly to make the house look nice, hoping to impress him. So I ended up decided that I would cook a fancy Italian dish for him. We ended up having a great time, laughing and joking all night long. We soon returned to my bedroom, I then decided to let him pick a movie to watch together, he picked "50 First Dates", I was very happily surprised, as he did not seem like the person to watch any kinds of romcoms.
The following morning came faster than I wanted it to happen. Robert and I accidentally fell asleep while watching the movie last night. When I woke up, I soon realized what we ended up doing. Nothing serious happened at all so I should not be worried. We are not even at that point in our relationship, it is still way too early to even worry about "that" happening. I quickly got into the shower, the warm water starting to soothe away my nerves, and calming them quickly. What I did not realize was that Sullivan had woken up, heard the shower running and decided to join me.
"I'm really sorry", he said really quietly.
"What are you sorry for, we didn't do anything, there's nothing to be sorry for", I said.
"I didn't mean to stay over at all, that was not my intention at all", Sullivan said. "I don't want you to think that I was taking advantage of you", he continued.
"Hey, look at me", I bring his chin down to look at me, "you did not take advantage of me at all, that implies that I did not want this to happen which is very not true", he began to smile as I continued.
"Can you maybe wash my hair", as soon as I said that I realized how naturally I said that. Like it was something so normal. But the look on his face was almost unreadable. "Only if you wanted to, you don't have to if…", I continued rambling until he stopped me.
"Hey, slow down, I'm sorry you just caught me off guard, if you want me to wash your hair, I will gladly do it for you," he grabbed the shampoo that I handed to him and gently began to lather my hair very softly with a gentle touch that made my knees weak.
What we didn't hear that would change everything was a knock at the bathroom door. a knock at the closed bathroom door changed the warm fuzzy feeling within my stomach, while also making it drop. We didn't realize there was a knock at the door until that person invaded our fuzzy little bubble. Sullivan shrunk down and hide behind me, looking very silly while doing it.
"Andy, I want to tell you about my weekend with Carina… wait did you forget to tell me about some hot new man while I was gone?" Maya kept on rambling, the more she rambled, the more my stomach dropped.
"Maya it's not what you think, and I really don't want you to be mad, cause I know that you will be. Promise me that you won't be mad," Andy said all in one breathe.
"Andy, you are beginning to scare me just tell me who it is," Maya said sounding really worried, more worried than I am.
I looked down at Robert as he was almost entirely on the floor. I motioned for him to stand up, he looked up at me with this flabbergasted face questioning my reasoning. "It's ok I have to tell her at some point," I whispered to him. He stood up and looked sheepishly at Maya.
"Hello, Bishop," he said in almost a captain voice.
"Andy was is this? Why is Captain Sullivan in your shower? I thought you hated him?" Maya continued with all of the questions.
"Maya slow down. I will- we will", she said as pointed to Robert. "We will answer all of your questions as soon as we finish our shower, can we have some private time please, then we can tell you all of it," she said.
"Okay, fine I'll give you to an hour, then I deserve an explanation," she said and left with a slam of the door.
"Why would you tell her," Sullivan said using his "Robert Sullivan Battalion Cheif Voice" with her.
"Don't use that voice with me. You and I both know that there is something between us." she was almost shouting at him unintentionally.
"Of course I know that something serious is going on, I wouldn't be here with you if we're just friends. But that doesn't mean you need to be going around telling Bishop or anyone else," He was now shouting at me as well. He seemed like he was panicking more than actually being mad at me. Which made me truly realize how much he actually cares for me.
"Hey, look at me. We care about each a lot, and Maya is my best friend. I have told her about everyone that is important to me in my life, that now includes you," I say trying to get through to him in the middle of his panic attack.
"Okay fine I trust you," he finally said moments later.
After we finished the shower, I got him some of my clothes that I thought might fit him, this included my dad's old FD shirt and some baggy sweatpants of mine.
"When you are dressed go ahead and come join Maya and me in the kitchen for breakfast." I quickly said then closed the door so that he had privacy to get dressed.
"Are you finally going to tell me what the heck is going on, this is way out of the blue, this is not like you, Andy, I'm sorry but I don't understand," she continued.
"Look I am sorry that I did not tell you and me and Robert, we are very new, and I really care for him, but we don't want to jeopardize this relationship that is so new," I continued to tell her about my new found love. What I did not realize was Robert was behind me the whole time.
"Hello Bishop," he says to her.
"Call me Maya please especially if this is going to be a regular thing," she says as she points to the both of us.
"That is very unprofessional of me I would never do that," he told her.
"Sir, I'm going to be forward here, ok. If you are going to continue to be sleeping over and sleeping with my best friend. I don't think there is a problem with you calling me by my first name," she reassured him. It made me very happy that she was okay with this brand new thing.
"Okay Bi-Maya, this will take some time to get used, but I will try," he told her. I was very excited that the two most important people in my life were getting along.
