A/N: Don't own the Avengers….sad face. I always thought Bruce and Nat would have made a good match.

Bruce comes back after Ultron once he calms down and was welcomed back by the Team and the Tower with open arms.

Give Me Peace

At this very moment the Tower was empty except for Bruce and it felt strange to him. The rest of the Team was sent on a quick easy mission but it was decided that it was not enough to warrant a 'code green' so Bruce remained at the Tower and Natasha was out at Shield for the day currently working with some of the new recruits.

Bruce was unsettled, worried about the Team, about his place within the Team and a certain red head. He worked in his lab through the morning but with his mind wondering, which is a dangerous thing to do while working in a lab full of chemicals, decides to call it a day, he cleans up his experiments and asks Jarvis to save his open file on his current project. Bruce really didn't want to blow up his lab or the Tower for matter as Tony would kill him, so he decides to head up to the kitchen and common room for a change of scenery and maybe a bite to eat.

Bruce exits the elevator and walks into the kitchen heading straight for the fridge to see what he could put together. Tony always keeps the kitchen well stocked with a variety of foods but decides on eggs and toast as it is really hard to mess that up, though he has bared witness to Thor starting a fire with one of the toasters and way too many pop-tarts, god Tony was pissed and Thor looked like someone killed is puppy from all the burnt breakfast treats. Bruce chuckles to himself at the memory as he pulls out the skillet, eggs and bread and got to work.

After he finished eating and cleaned up the kitchen Bruce walked into the common room and over to the wall of windows. Bruce has always loved this view, being so high up in the tower he could see for miles into the city. It was snowing this afternoon, big fat flakes drifting down and just for a moment the world and Bruce's mind was quiet and peaceful. Bruce decides to take the time to meditate while the Team was out, right here in front of this beautiful view where it's just him and the world. He grabs one of Tony's to expensive throw pillows from the couch and tosses it on the floor, took off his shoes and socks and sat down cross legged with his wrists on his knees, closing his eyes and begins his deep breathing.

This is how Natasha found Bruce when she walked into the common room looking for everyone, perched on one of Tony's many throw pillows he likes to keep in the common room, facing the wall of windows and the magnificent view. She pauses, letting a small gasp escape and just stares at Bruce, the one man she wants to truly give her heart to and can't have. Natasha knows what she looks like and has perfected it over the years starting in the Red Room and has used it in the field many times to get in and out of some sticky jams, but with Bruce, it hurts the heart she didn't think she even had anymore. Natasha quickly pushes her doubts down deep, leans down to remove her shoes and socks and quietly walks over to Bruce to sit next to him and assumes the same position facing the window.

After a few minutes and without Bruce opening his eyes or even turning his head, "Hey Nat"

Natasha was startled from her calm, "How did…"

Bruce smirks eyes still closed, "I recognized your sent, hint of lavender I believe."

"Hmmm" was all Natasha could think to respond with.

Bruce goes back to meditating before Natasha breaks the silence.

"Bruce, where is everyone?" Nat asks.

This time Bruce opens his eyes and turns to look at Natasha, once again he is in complete awe of how beautiful she is.

Bruce takes a breath, "The Team was called out for a simple mission so no need for the 'code green' and you were at SHEILD so it's just you and me kid" Bruce grins, turning to look out the windows at the beautifully falling snow.

"Just us then, huh?" Natasha asks.

"Yep" Bruce answers snapping the 'p'.

"All alone?" Natasha asks.

Bruce lifts himself up by his hands and rotates his body on the pillow to face Natasha and she does the same, so now they are facing each other.

"Why" Bruce asks.

"Um…well…I thought we could finish…that conversation we had at Clint's" Natasha states.

Bruce sighs.

"Nat, there is nothing else to say and I don't know how to make you understand….just because I…I want to…it doesn't mean we should." Bruce tries his hardest to be firm with her without hurting her, but Natasha picks up the underlining tone of disappointment in his words.

"Want to" Natasha says breathlessly.

Natasha takes the small glimmer of hope and runs with it. She inches closer till their knees are just barely touching, slowly moves her hands to grasp his own before moving up his wrists, forearms, elbows and then back down to his fingers twisting them together.

"I want to" Natasha whispers giving their fingers a squeeze.

"Gods woman what you do to me" Bruce pulls his hands from Natasha's and runs them through his hair and starts to tug on the strands.

Natasha goes quickly to her knees, grasping Bruce's hands to get him to release his hair. Bruce brings his hands down to Natasha's waist and pulls her down to sit on his lap and holds her tightly to him, her legs wrap around his hips and he rests his head down on her chest listening to her heart beat. Natasha wraps her arms around Bruce's shoulders and begins to rub up and down his back; they slowly begin to rock in an attempt to comfort each other.

"Why Nat" Bruce almost begging her to understand his forehead resting at her neck "I have nothing to offer you, I can't give you a family or a home, there are always going to be people like General Ross chasing after the other guy with the excuse of keeping the world safe, I can't…god I can't drag you into to that, you deserve better" Bruce mumbles taking in deep breathes of her lovely scent trying to calm his emotions down so the other guy doesn't make an appearance.

Natasha places her hands on Bruce's cheeks and raises his head up so they can look into each other's eyes.

"Bruce, I know all of this…I know…please Bruce….please" Natasha whispers placing her forehead to his.

Bruce pulls back to examine her face, searching for something but for what Natasha doesn't know, but he must have found his answer because he suddenly wraps his hands into Natasha's hair and pulls her down for a kiss.

"This will only end badly Nat" Bruce whispers placing butterfly kisses on her cheek and down her jaw.

Natasha moans from the gentleness of Bruce's lips on her skin. "Then let us enjoy the time we have with each other, no regrets no fear and just run with it"

Bruce gives Natasha a blinding smile, "We just run with it then" and pulls her into a kiss full of longing, passion, excitement, fear and want. A kiss shared between two hearts as the snow fell outside blanketing the city in peace.
