I reread the third chapter of my ideas and felt very motivated to make a full story out of Devin. I'm atrocious at writing, but I hope you enjoy!
It was a peaceful afternoon in the forest, no sound being heard other than the sounds of nature. A lake could be seen, all around it a thick forest, when out stepped a single doe. She looked around for any sight of predators, and when she saw none, she stepped out of the forest and walked towards the lake. She began drinking from it, when out of nowhere a portal opened above the lake, scaring the doe back into the forest. The portal swirled for a moment, until a screaming man fell out of it and straight into the lake. The portal closed right after dispensing him, and the man swam back up, gasping for air as soon as he broke the surface. "CHAOS! I thought we agreed no more lakes?!" He yelled at nothing in particular. 'Well, what did you expect Devin? You did ask her to drop us anywhere she wanted, AFTER EATING THE LAST OF HER FAVORITE COOKIES! ' He heard in his head. He begun swimming to shot as he replied, "Okay, I'll admit, not one of my smartest decisions, but come on, I forgot I ate it! Plus, I was hungry and it was was first thing I saw!" ' The kitchen was completely full of stuff. And those weren't even the only kind of cookies there! You could've eaten ANY other kind! ' The Fallen Angel said as he approached the shore. Grumbling, Devin said "Alright, you make a good point." As he approached the shore, he transformed into a lion as we walked up the shore and shook as much water off as he could. He transformed back to normal, revealing his 6' 21 year old form, wearing a black Hooey baseball hat, a long, black trench coat over a black t-shirt with a skull design, black jeans and black combat boots. Putting his hands on his hips, he began looking around as he said "Alright! What universe do you think we've arrived in today?" Using their shared power, the Angel answered ' We are in another Percy Jackson universe. He is the Hunt's newly appointed "Guardian", although he did NOT get betrayed by Annabeth. Apparently, they just mutually ended their relationship, but was still "betrayed" by the rest of the camp as the result of a potion mishap by a young Hecate child trying to make new friends. None of the camp counselors led his side, but it was the majority of camp since it is mainly made up of newer campers these days. ' "Huh, don't hear that very often, has he learned of the reason yet?" Devin asked while using his powers to detect any nearby lifeforms. ' Yes he has, and he's already been by alongside the Hunt to see his old friends and to hear the childrens' apologies. ' The Angel responded. Devin picked up a couple auras that happened to be just on the other side of the trees as him that weren't moving. "Well, speak of the devil. Or would it be devils in this case?" He mumbled, preparing himself to summon his weapons at a moment's notice. ' It doesn't matter, just don't seriously injure any of them. They just finished fighting a war against Tartarus that begun with Percy being kidnapped and tortured on all levels for 10 years.' The Angel informed him as he got into a fighting position. "Yeah yeah, I won't hurt them TOO badly." Devin mumbled, then slightly louder so that the Hunters could hear him "Y'know, silver isn't a very good camouflage when hiding behind GREEN leaves!" A moment passed before 5 young girls stepped into the open, led by a black, spikey haired 15 year old wearing a silver tiara in her hair and the 13 year old goddess herself, still looking like one of her hunters, each of them pointing loaded bows at him and slowly stepping towards him. Smirking, he said "Well, pleasure to make your acquaintance Artemis! I hear Olympus just won a war against the Pit?" He saw them stiffen, before Artemis replied "We did, does that mean you are our next enemy?" Looking genuinely offended, Devin said "Why do you think that, just because I mentioned your last war?! Of course I'm not the next enemy! I was just genuinely curious is all!" ' Well you must admit, finding a strange man in the middle of the woods talking to himself and looking like us, then having said man mention their last war as their opening line would put anyone on edge. ' The Angel said. "Another good point." Devin replied nodding, confusing the Hunters. Forgetting the goddess next to her, the tiara wear in Huntress asked "Who are you talking to?" He looked towards her and, still feeling the slight, dull pain he always did, replied "My other aspect, the Fallen Angel. He was so unique to me personality wise, he was the only one out of my titles that formed into an entirely different aspect. Anytime I fully assume one of my titles, my personality changes slightly to match the title, but he was so different that he just kinda...stuck around in my head after I gained the title." They just looked even more confused, but Devin had a thought that distracted him. "Hey, I'm just now realizing, I forgot your name!" Exasperated, the Angel asked ' We share the same body, how do you forget my name?! ' "Hey, don't blame me! How long has it been since anyone has said your name exactly?!" He replied, completely forgetting the very confused Hunters in front of him. ' Touché. My name is δικαιοσύνη ' The Angel responded. "Seriously? Your name is justice in ancient greek?" Devin asked, slightly surprised by the simplicity. ' Well, yes. I AM the Angel of Justice! ' The Angel responded, slightly indignant. "You know we are still here, correct?" Artemis asked, reminding Devin of their presence. Refocusing on the situation, he said "Oh yeah! My bad, I have a very small attention span." Artemis rolled her eyes, already used to it from demigods and as she went to reply, a large band of monsters appeared out of the tree line surrounding them. The Hunters aimed their weapons at the monsters and Devin began slowly turning, waiting to see which one would step forward as leader.
That felt like a good place to cut it off. Honestly, I've had the idea for Devin as a character for over 10 years now, I just never had the courage or tools to try doing this. After being on FF for at least 3 years now, I've finally found the motivation to give it a shot! Although, my writing skills really aren't...how you say...GOOD. I mean, in high school, I failed English 3 my junior year and just barely passed my other years! I've just recently begun actually working on it, so I hope it isn't too bad for you all. I'm also grinding out as many chapters as I can at once, kinda like how the professional Youtubers do it with all their videos, so for the first couple chapters I won't be able to see any reviews, but on the last chapter I do, I'll be sure to make it known that it's the one you should review on. And most of this chapter was written on mobile, which was a living hell itself. Ciao, Dragonoid.
